Kicking Ass: The Democratic Party's Blog

Day Two

Posted by Josh McConaha on August 14, 2008 at 09:56 AM

We rolled out this morning for stops in Columbus, Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Cincinnati was a good event with a group of excited people, and after an obligatory side-stop for some of us at a Skyline Chili, we made our way to Columbus last night.

We met Glen, the world's best bus driver, at our hotel this morning, and then rode to the rally with Senator Amy Klobuchar from Minnesota and Ohio House Minority Leader Joyce Beatty. Turnout was surprisingly high given that we were kicking things off at 8:45am -- it was also surprisingly enthusiastic.

Photos from the Columbus event here, but my favorite is below. This couple met while volunteering for Governor Dean's campaign in 2004, and then they had a baby. It's not a common thing, but I know of at least one baby at the DNC that came about the same way (and after Governor Dean helped pull off a surprise proposal in his office).

So Reagan's amnesty and illegal immigration/imported cheap labor policy is certainly working gangbusters.

Where does McCain get off saying Obama is not an average American? Obama's roots are in Kansas... not Georgia...just like Eisenhower's.

White Americans no longer a majority by 2042

WASHINGTON - White people will no longer make up a majority of Americans by 2042, according to new government projections. That's eight years sooner than previous estimates, made in 2004.

The nation has been growing more diverse for decades, but the process has sped up through immigration and higher birth rates among minority residents, especially Hispanics...

No wonder McBush wants to immigrate 4.5 million Georgians to this country. Hey, isn't that the entire population of Georgia?

That McCain staffer is sure promising his foreign clients the moon and sun. And as Bush says, "Don't Forget Poland."

The Republican plan must be to import as many Slavic people in the next four months as possible so as to not be so obvious that the GOP business interests have been actively recruiting cheap foreign laborers to drive down the middle class standard of living...while raising our taxes.

Excuse me. I need to run down to the immigration bureau and sponsor a Georgian family for citizenship. McCain is holding a town hall meeting there with the rest of his "average" American supporters/lobbyists.

You cannot lose,
If you have recognized awesomeness Skyline Chili, the people of Ohio will appreciate you for not only having a great candidate, but also a fantastic taste in food.
