WASHINGTON - Two-thirds of U.S. corporations paid no federal income taxes between 1998 and 2005, according to a new report from Congress.

The study by the Government Accountability Office, expected to be released Tuesday, said about 68 percent of foreign companies doing business in the U.S. avoided corporate taxes over the same period.

Collectively, the companies reported trillions of dollars in sales, according to GAO's estimate.

Just a thought, but why would consumers want to vote for a guy who calls himself Exxon John?

Is the GOP that out of touch with voters angry about high gasoline prices or is McCain's dementia progressing faster than we all thought?

It still doesn't explain why any rationale staff member would go along with this strange strategy to link McCain to a major oil company...and their windfall profits needlessly coming out of consumers' pockets during a recession.

I can't believe how bizzare the political scene has become in the last 15 years. The RNC has decided that they can do or say anything and God will protect them? Or prehaps they think God is dead?

OK, last time I needed gas for my car on my way to work (you guys know what work is?……….Don’t you?) I stopped by the filling station and there was no pump for wind power. There was no pump for solar power. The reality was that there were only gas pumps there. I could not find the magical alternative fuel pump. It was nowhere to be found. You see, we need gas to fuel our cars. And gas comes from oil. And oil comes from oil companies that you know ………drill for oil. Are you starting to see a trend here? Tax breaks for the oil companies are a good thing! You see, we need more oil so we can make more gas so we can continue to fuel our cars so we can drive our job. (You guys do know what a job is?………………… Don’t you?) This is not real hard people. Try to wrap your head around this whole concept. Capitalism is a good thing! And tax breaks for businesses help grow our economy. They work every time they are tried!
