'Out of Touch'

Posted by Matt Ortega on August 22, 2008 at 04:58 PM

John McCain is out of touch, and out of step with the American people. He may not know how many houses he owns but there is one House the American people cannot afford for him to move into. Check out this latest ad from the Obama campaign:

How out of touch?

We know how out of touch the elitist McCain is on economic issues, for further evidence look at the list of multi-millionaire speakers he's lined up to speak at the convention. Is every right wing politician appearing at the convention a member of the $100 Million club? There's attorney Rudy Giuliani, Carley Fiorina who got $20M to walk away from HP, Meg Whiteman the superwealthy ex CEO of Google and Mitt Romney (who prospered from a rich family radition of inheirted wealth).

MCain is "pro life" and offers nothing to minimize the occurence of unplanned parenthood or support for women facing the difficult choice.

Guess Whiteman and Fiorina are going to expound upon McCain's support of women's issue, FROM THEIR PERSPECTIVE! Here's part of the picture we're not likely to hear from (Mariaknows.blogspot.com):

McCain's ZERO rating from Planned Parenthood

Staunch opposition to Roe v Wade, the 50 plus year old ruling affirming legalized abortion (perhaps we'll hear what he proposes to do if he becomes successful, like prison for women and their doctors?)

Favorite judges are Thomas and Scalia, the right of right members of the Supreme Court, and what does he think will become of all the other constitutional laws that protect citizens' interests?

Deliberately missed the vote of the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and stated women who want equal pay should update their skills

Voted against requiring health care plans to cover birth control

Voted against comprehensive, medically accurate sex education

Voted against international family planning funding

Voted against funding to prevent teen and unintended pregnancies (3/17/05)

Voted against public education for emergency contraception

Voted against restoring Medicaid funding that could be used for family planning for low income women (3/17/05)

Fifty one percent of women voters in key states have no idea of McCain's position on reproductive health issues

46% of women supporting McCain want Roe v Wade upheld

Hillary's supporters can help the rest of us back Obama for president or sit on the sidelines and tacitly express approval for McCain's positions on women's issues, God bless us all!

Women Put in Their Place, Again.

On Aug. 26, 2008, the 88th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment giving Women the right to vote, Hillary Rodham Clinton will address America to explain why she and the rest of the women in America have allowed themselves to be put back in their place as third class citizens behind White men and now Black men. It is so disappointing to see women rolling over on their backs and doing as they were told, as if their Foremothers had not spent the past few thousand years suffering and struggling to be acknowledged as equals instead of the property of men ,to be used and abused and told what to do and think and say. What a shame it is that on the Anniversary of one of Women’s` greatest achievements Hillary Clinton will be personally giving up all that has been gained and admitting defeat once again. How sad that women have allowed themselves to be put back in their place and told what to do by Obama, Howard Dean and the DNC, and the media, then tricked into using such an important anniversary to admit defeat and pledge their allegiance to their new Master. It is such a disgrace to see the women of today selling out their Foremothers and their achievements so easily just to put another Male democrat in the White House, without realizing that when "United" they actually hold enough power to control this election and put a woman in the White House instead of another man. The women of today have rolled over so easily when they were told to, that I find it hard to understand if it was because they really enjoy being third class citizens behind the white man and now the Black man, or were they just not smart enough or brave enough to do as there foremothers before them and band together and stand up for themselves and what is rightfully theirs. The women of today have stood by and allowed the men of their party to push aside Hillary Clinton to make room for their chosen one, another man .How pathetic you have become, allowing the men of the DNC to put you back in your place on such an important night. I guess Hillary has been ordered to use that night to try to convince you that you should be happy and celebrating in the knowledge that you are lucky that your foremothers did all of the hard work so you can stand by and watch it ripped from a woman`s grasp at the last minute, but it is okay" because it was just not your time but it will be someday soon if you stand aside and let another Man have it for the next four to eight years". You should be happy that they even allow you the right to vote, instead of complaining about how you were tricked out of your rights and told who you can vote for, as long as it is not a woman. " You have come a long way baby", then stepped aside as you were told to do so all of the men can get back in the front of the line, leaving you in the back of the line where you belong. Shame on you for rolling over once again! Regardless of Political Party or Race , you all lose.

I think you will find Hillary do real well with this change.Sometimes it is not the top position that makes it all happen. She will find herself in a powerful position no matter what happens when we take back the wh. Politics has its ways of working on the inside and she will be a big player there.
