Mary, i don't know, i had that network taken off of my Dish in 2004. I can't stand the network of spin master's, liars, and thieves.
If that was the only channel on t.v. i would take a shotgun to it, and deep six it.
Joe Biden
Biden Takes On 'Red October' Thompson
By Perry Bacon Jr.
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Vice presidential nominee Sen. Joe Biden attacked a series of Republicans in a speech here, taking on not only Sen. John McCain, but McCain campaign manager Rick Davis, President Bush and former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson.
"I don't think I would run into a single Floridian who would walk up to me and say, 'Joe, the economy is doing great' ... unless I bumped into John or maybe Fred," Biden told a crowd of several hundred at a community center here, as he referred to speeches Tuesday night at the Republican National Convention.
McCain has acknowledged Americans are struggling with a slowing economy, but in a speech at the convention, Thompson attacked Obama's economic plan, saying "you don't lift an economic downturn by imposing one of the largest tax increases in American history."
Referring to Bush's speech praising McCain, Biden cast them as the Minnesota Twins.
"George Bush said, quote, 'The man we need is John McCain,' " Biden said. "John has earned this endorsement; he's voted with him 90 percent of the time."
(Bush in that speech emphasized he and McCain had often disagreed on key issues.)
And Biden criticized a remark made by Davis, who told The Post in an interview, "This election is not about issues -- this election is about a composite view of what people take away from these candidates."
"Not about issues!" Biden said. "That means to them this election is not about whether you're able to scrape up the tuition money to send your kid to college."
Biden, on the third day of a campaign swing targeting older white and working class voters, delighted in deepening his voice as he tried to mimic Thompson, who he referred to as "Red October."
"Fred went there up and said, 'Well, the Democrats are going to raise your taxes,'" Biden said in a low tone as the crowd laughed. "I don't know why we need to give another tax break to Exxon Mobil."
The two campaigns have been debating tax policy for weeks, as the GOP argues that Obama's refusal to extend tax cuts for Americans who make more than $250,000 a year would slow the economy, while Democrats have said McCain's proposed tax cuts for all corporations is akin to a handout to oil companies.
The Florida event marked some of the sharpest criticisms of McCain by Biden since his speech at the Democratic convention last week.
But much of the Delaware senator's rhetoric in his first solo campaign swing has consisted of passionate and at times rambling defenses against perceived Obama weaknesses.
He defended Obama's calls for a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq, noting the Iraqi government and the Bush administration have discussed similar proposals, even as Republicans have suggested he wants to "surrender" from Iraq.
"If Barack Obama is the agent of surrender, George Bush is signing the surrender papers," Biden said.
The senator's defense of Obama was not perfect: Just as he had last week, he referred to Obama's wisdom in proposing to send two additional battalions to Afghanistan. Obama has proposed to send two more brigades, not battalions, which are much smaller.

Guess who is going to be whining tonight?
The first excerpt released from Palin's speech tonight has her complaining that the press is picking on her because she isn't part of the Washington Elite.
She's running with a Washington Elitist of 26 years.
What a line up, Ruddy, the Huckster, and Mittens,
and watch ma call it.

My husband and the kids at my house get frustrated because I keep deleting the channel. They don't like the idiots any more than I do, they just like the sports programming like MLB and NFL.
Chassie: I have a theory on Rudy toot, tootie. He does not currently have a mistress - unusual for him - only because he does not have the city of New York to bill for his trysts!
OMG!!
This extravaganza starts in 20 minutes, and the seats are STILL mostly empty!
Is it ignorance, or is it apathy?
By the looks of it, the Pugs are saying "I don't know, and I don't care".
That woman hasn't seen anything yet. Stephanie Miller mentioned the cardboard cutouts the rnc used in the empty seats last night. Look for them again tonight.
It appears that the religious freak mcgeezer picked for his vp is going to showcase here daughter and her daughter's lover tonight. How depraved.
These people have no shame. If bush and cheney were decent human beings they would have resigned years ago. Obviously bush and cheney are from the shallow end of the gene pool. At least Nixon had the decency to resign.
king bush the first and barbara did a crappy job of raising their kids. They are all either criminals, arrogant, greedy, addicted or morons. Take your pick. I'll be they are proud parents.
Jesus Effin' Christ on a pogo stick!!
These assholes are passing out "9-11" signs to the "crowd" with the ONE digits being represented by the Twin Towers. Is there no depth that they will sink to in order to say "We effed up last time, give us another chance"?
Talk about pandering.
Hey, Chimpy...
WHERE IS OSAMA BIN LADEN!???
He sure as HELL ain't hiding in your "brush" in Crapfest TX. (Otherwise you would have "found" him, right?)
According to CBS news the war and the economy are no longer the issues in this election. CBS announced that the big issue this election is abortion.
rove is making it abortion which we can't let this bastard get away with. Damn the MSM.

Johne did you see where the Chimp and "Dick and he is Cheney" is going to give one billion dollars to Georgia to rebuild there military.
At least Nixon had the decency to resign.
Posted by Johne on September 3, 2008 at 07:38 PM
John: Nixon was forced to resign because back then there were some decent people who had integrity in the Republican Party. Now, the decent people (like Chuck Hagel) have been run out of the Republican Party by neo-con sellouts and their political henchmen like KKKarl Rove. The Eisenhower Republicans would be ashamed of the current incarnation of liars, thieves, traitors, and perverts who are now in charge of the Republican Party. By the way, are you aware that KKKarl was a Watergate Conspirator. The only reason that he was not indicted was because he was a very low-level conspirator and by the time his role was uncovered, the prosceution was on to bigger fish - like Nixon! Also, Nixon referred to F. Thompson as the "stupidest sob on earth' when Thompson was actually feeding Nixon and co. inside information about the prosecution! Even Nixon would have disowned this stupid, scummy bunch!
DPD,
That's thoroughly disgusting.
bush brought us 9/11, Katrina and the invasion of Russia. Are they going to have signs glorifying Katrina and our interference in Georgia and how patriotic it was.
These people are hopeless morons.
I apologize for keeping posting 'dots' but it's the only way that I can see the posts. Re-fresh and Preview just send me back out to the home page.
What is the average IQ of the neocon party. I'll bet it is in the single digits.
They remind of the bank robber who wrote his stickup note on the back of his driver license then left it at the tellers window when he ran out.
Well it looks like I'm going to have my work cut out this weekend, John King of CNN just reported that Palin, will be in the pan handle of Florida this week end, campaigning
And I'm going to be in the pan handle of Florida also, campaigning for Obama and Bi den., this week end.
This is going to be a hard fought state.
Mary,
That is strange. I am having no trouble at all tonight.
Are you using Firefox? It seems to work better than Explorer.
John McCain: "Sittin' on the bottom of the bay / 'Cause I skipped the class on how to blow the canopy away"
For reasons that were just as obvious then as they are today, John McCain was known as "John Wayne McCain" while attending the U.S. Naval Academy. His favorite sobriquet of "maverick" is, and always has been, a cover for his inability to follow the rules and his penchant for knee-jerk decisions, both of which are amply evident in his largely unvetted choice of Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska. McCain's proclivity to shoot from the hip is a life-long trait, stemming from a pronounced tendency toward rebellion against his naval officer father and a distaste for following prescribed courses of studies when in school. The following excerpts from a CNN program called "McCain Revealed" shows how these characteristics almost got McCain killed during a training flight while in naval air school in Texas:
JOHN KING: His next proving ground was one chosen for him--Annapolis. Duty eclipsed desire. The military legacy of his father and grandfather trumped McCain's huge love of literature and his dream of a liberal arts education at Princeton or the University of Virginia.
MCCAIN: I think I knew I was going to go to the Naval Academy, and I'm sure that part of my excuse for being rebellious was that I wanted to go to one of those schools. By the way, it's by no means certain that I could have gotten in.
CHUCK LARSON: He accepted it, although he rebelled occasionally.
KING: Chuck Larson met fellow midshipman John McCain in 1955. Everyone knew both McCain's family lineage and his bad boy reputation. Larson and McCain hit it off. The "Bad Bunch" was formed.
LARSON: A group that liked to have fun, and, of course, we were always looking for dates. Women were very attracted to John.
FRANK AMBOA: Socially, it was very wise to hang out with John because you'd get invited to a lot of parties.
KING: Frank Amboa was John McCain's roommate at Annapolis. Amboa remembers his first encounter with his roommate's father, a highly decorated naval captain, the fall of 1955.
AMBOA: John had gotten up and gone over to the sink and got a glass of water and threw it on us, so that deteriorated into melee and water fight, and in the midst of this there came two knocks on the door. So we come to attention and I see John say, "Dad!"
MCCAIN: That was my dad who walked into the room. It was a ... it was a shocking moment for him.
AMBOA: And then I hear this gruff voice behind me, "This is a gross room. Carry on, gentlemen."
MCCAIN: My father was amazingly tolerant of some of my wild antics while at the Naval Academy.
AMBOA: And the captain said, "Goddammit, Johnny. No wonder you're flunking!"
KING: It was 1958. John McCain graduated Annapolis in the bottom five of his class [894 out of 899, in the .556 percentile], yet at the top of his game.
MCCAIN: I was going to be a naval aviator, and that's what I always wanted to do, and I wanted to fly airplanes by myself off of aircraft carriers. You know, I thought that was the height of glamor and excitement.
KING: Aviator training was rigorous, yet McCain loved happy hour and night life. His old Annapolis pal, now flight school roommate, Chuck Larson says McCain still preferred literature to required reading.
LARSON: John spent a lot of time reading, and he read Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire by Edward Gibbon
KING: At the expense of maybe ...
MCCAIN: Yes.
KING: ... learning how to eject?
MCCAIN: Yes, at the expense of maybe learning my flight procedures, which I probably should have given a higher priority to.
KING: Both men were on a training mission in 1958 when McCain nearly paid the ultimate price ... for doing things his way.
LARSON: He took off one plane ahead of me, and he had an engine failure and crashed into the [Corpus Christi] bay, and he sunk to the bottom. He was sitting on the bottom of the aircraft, and he said, "You know, I remember there's some kind of a switch here somewhere that blows the canopy off the airplane, but I didn't read that book, and I don't know where the switch is, so I guess I'm dead."
KING: McCain managed to wrench the canopy open and barely survived.
KING: A near death experience. How do you think that changed him, if at all?
LARSON: I don't think it changed him at all. John went back to the room, went to bed for about two hours, got up and said, "Let's go over to the club."
The record shows that McCain lost five planes in all, only two of which were lost in wartime due to circumstances beyond his control, to wit: one was lost when a rocket accidentally slammed into his plane on the deck of the U.S.S. Forestall Aircraft Carrier and another was shot down by the enemy in North Vietnam while he was piloting it. As for the other three, we have already noted the crash in Corpus Christi Bay while attempting to land after an alleged engine failure. While stationed in the Mediterranean, McCain hit power lines and crashed while flying too low over the Iberian Peninsula. Finally, while flying to an Army-Navy football game in a navy training aircraft, he radioed ahead that he had experienced a "flameout," and ejected from the plane before it crashed.
The crash last described was termed "unavoidable" by the Navy (possibly on account of extreme indulgence of his highly erratic behavior due to the fact that his father and grandfather concluded their naval careers as four-star admirals); but was it really unavoidable? According to Wikipedia, a "flameout" simply refers to "the failure of a jet engine caused by the extinction of the flame in the combustion chamber. It can be caused by a number of factors, including fuel exhaustion...." Obviously, "fuel exhaustion" is a euphemism for running out of fuel. You will recall what McCain said about doing extraneous things "at the expense of maybe learning my flight procedures, which I probably should have given a higher priority to." Could it be that McCain simply hopped in a jet without making sure it had enough fuel to reach his destination?
This is what scares me so badly about John McCain. He has flown by the seat of his pants all his life, and continues to do so. If McCain is elected President, I hope he does not wind up at the bottom of the bay (so to speak) with the whole country flying with him as his co-pilot if he makes a fatal miscalculation after failing to give sufficiently careful deliberation to a critical decision. In that case, "Whoops, I guess we're dead," will be a very sad commentary, indeed, on this country's inability to select Presidents who think deeply before they react.
Demo,
I was thinking about this the other night. Could his poor judgment have contributed to crashing five planes or is it his rashness?

(This site is gonna be comical on election night when all those Eastern blue states start falling for McCain/Palin.Posted by Sally-* on September 3, 2008 at 07:12 PM) - - - Sally and zell miller's evil twin will be hiding out with the rest of the looooser's when Barck & Joe walk out on stage to accept the keys to the white house from a GRATEFUL & VERY RELIEVED American Nation!
I know this is a long post, but for Hillary supporters it may be worth the read - It's a email I received from a strong Hillary support who was on the fence about not voting or voting for George III
Sara who?...Oh I get it she's a woman! WOW, imagine that a real woman picked as VP. Well by golly gee that's the ticket! Those republicans are so darn progressive...a woman. I just can't get over that. And I'm a woman so then it should follow that I will vote for her. Those republicans are so darn smart. Why shoot of course I'll vote for him cuz after all she's a woman & I'm a woman. Those republicans are so logical too because since she lives so close to Russia, you know she has foreign policy experience. And that makes perfect sense because when I moved into our neiborhood I was so excited to find that a car repair garage is just across the street which now makes me an experienced mechanic. I just love it so that the republicans think that I as a woman have at least half a brain since that's what we were left with when Eve gave Adam the other half.Or was it that Adam gave us half of his.? I don't know for sure but it was some body part like that. Gee I'll have to consult my book on Creationism. But anyway if Eve hadn't eaten that apple we could have maybe had a whole brain and not had to suffer from excruiating migranes when we try to give birth to an intelligent thought. The point I'm trying to make even though I have half a brain is that uh..uh..uh...Oh Yeah! I'm a woman and John McCain likes women a lot so I'll vote for John McCain. It's a no brainer!
All I can say is thank you John McCain. Your judgment in this case is outstanding!!!!! You crazy little maverick you. Now who do you have in mind for Attorney General? Star Jones? WOW that would be perfect cuz not only is she a woman, but she's an African American woman! Any picks for Defense Secretary you little 21st century reformer you? How's about Granny Clampet!!! She's a woman too and such a little old fireball. And just think how that will play in the backwoods of the Ozarks and Appalachia not to mention the senior centers. If she can take on a kangaroo in the ring by golly she could go up against any of those pesky dictators. And she knows so much about black gold, Texas "T". Now who could you appoint as Energy Secretary? Another woman you say? I got it! Charo!!!! She's a bundle of energy. Coochie! Choochie!! and she's a Latino woman!!!! Now we need someone to head up the FDA. My choice of course would be ....yes!!!! Another woman!! Perhaps Aunt Jemima cuz not only is she a former slave and African American but she's from the South!!! And then there's the Secretary of State. I'm thinking Martha Stewart cuz she's a woman and can throw a hell of party and could keep all your servants in line in the White House. And Deputy Secretary of State should be a woman as well. Someone like Ellen DeGeneres! She would be great at State dinners as the entertainment... Oops, she's a... dare I say... lesbian. Nix that John. Can't forget the Housing Secretary though. Again it must be a woman! Your best pick would be Leona Helmsly, but shoot she's gone on to her Five Star reward. Oh John the perfect fit for this position would be Paris Hilton. Her last name says it all and she's a YOUNG woman John, John. She has more houses than even you and most of them have her name blazoned on them across the globe. And I think she's half French cuz her first name sounds French to me and the Europeans would get a kick out of that and then maybe they'll be friends with us again. So who's it gonna be for the Secretary of the Interior? I know. A woman of course! But not just any woman. Let me think.....let me think.....I've got a great idea! Lets put Martha Stewart in that position. DUH!!! Sorry John-Boy. I just wasn't using my half a noodle by suggesting her for Secretary of State. She's so highly experienced in decorating and of course the most obvious choice. Then who could you choose as Secretary of State? Yes, another woman, but who could fill those shoes after Condi performed so beautifully in her Dolce & Gabbana's?...I have the solution! Lets allow Paris Hilton to work double duty for all of the above reasons and because she's a celebrity jet setter who can flit across the ocean at a moments notice when our country is in a crises with say...Norway or those barbaric Icelandenders! How perfect would that be you little old crusty trailblazer. But lets not forget the Department of Education. It can't be a man of course. And she's got to be a blonde because we all know that blondes are so smart and they have the most fun too. Think, think, think...Eureka!!! The obvious no-brainer would be Pamela Anderson! And if she can't remember the answer to an important question, why then all she has to do is tatoo it on those big teleprompters of hers.. And we all know that if she needs any advise, she can just dial up her ex-husband Tommy Lee, or better yet, Kid Rock! They have oodles of resources to spark up her synapses and get that half a brain firing on all cylinders. This gal doesn't suffer from an inflated ego either so that's at least one part of her anatomy that won't get in your way.
Oh Senator John McCain you're my hero and not just because you were a POW. Speaking of your POW status ( which I do not need to remind you to mention as often as possible...) John, whenever those nasty Democrats accuse you of using the "fear card", you just tell them that when you were a POW for 5 1/2 years you couldn't even play cards. And if they try to paint you as a hot head & that you should never be allowed to put your finger on the red button...why you just let them know that as a POW for 10 long years you didn't even have buttons on your dirty tattered shirt. I hate it when they call you a "flip flopper" too! Give 'em hell you little firebrand cuz you went barefoot in prison camp and they tied your hands behind your back and forced you to stick used chopsticks between your toes so you could eat all that lousy Chink food!
And when they make fun of all your boring, lackluster speeches that would comatose a chronic meth user you just answer "my friends" when I was a POW for 15 years I embraced bordom as my friend and vowed that if I ever get out of this camp I'm going to urge that it be taught in all the schools across America because it builds character!
And as far as women's rights. Women simply do not deserve equal pay for doing the same work as a man. After all we just have half a brain and we should be gratful that we can make 70 cents for every dollar a man makes cuz I'm pretty sure that's more than half. Some women are just whiners. And this business of a woman's Right to Choose. Some people just do not get it. Abortion should never be used as a form of birth control. Don't they realize that when some of those babies grow up and land in prison we can weed out the bad ones with a flip of a switch? Your good friend George took out over 400 alone in the state of Texas for heavens sake! And he didn't play favorites when he got rid of the mentally retarded one either.
Uncle John you and your fellow rich republican friends are so generous to the rest of the nation. Even I as a woman with half a brain knows that it's just plain stupid to tax the wealthy in our country. Haven't they ever heard of "Trickle Down Economics"!!! My blood boiled when I heard that scary black Muslim remark that the rich in this country are stingey
and that they tell us that we should just pull ourselves up by our boot straps and get to work so we can be rich like them. You should remind everyone that they are lucky to have boots. Cuz when you were a POW for 25 years you would have been grateful for a pair of flip flops!!!
Americans are so greedy John. They want better and more affordable health care too! How are we going to pay for that? In fact we women in this country could save a lot in health care expenses by doing what Mother Nature intended. I for one would be willing to just simply walk out into my backyard, squat down and pop out a baby and cut the cord with my bare teeth. After all isn't that what Indian sqaws use to do? And these women now live in exclusive neighborhoods called "reservations". I'm not sold on evolution, but part of Darwin's theory makes sense. We should just let nature take it's course and let the sick, stupid, weak and old die off. We could save big bucks! I think he called it "natural reduction" or something like that.
Senator McCain your selection of Sara what's her name for vice president was the cherry on the sundae that knocked me off the fence and right into your "camp". She's a regular little Annie Oakley. Why I'm thinking about getting me high-power rifle and do a little moose hunting with the family. Cook-outs just won't be complete anymore without slapping on some moose burgers on the grill!
What excites me the most dear Johnny is knowing that all the little girls and young women who aspire or become beauty queens can set their sites on becoming a vice president or even president someday! This is just the springboard to launch a little girl's dreams. And to think that your pick for vice president came this far as Miss Congeniality - well it just brings tears to my eyes. Only in this great nation could that happen and to think that you, Mr. McCain has made this all possible. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!
Johne:
Snap judgment almost always leads to poor judgment.
Dixie,
We had better watch out, mcgeezer might like your cabinet selections. They all have the required experience.
More of the same. ABC News is reporting Another Controversy for Sarah Palin
Apparently she fired the local police chief while mayor of Wasilla because the NRA asked her to - (they didn't like his stance on conceal and carry.)
And because the chief also tried to enforce the bar closing hour laws (the bars contributed to her campaign).
"We had a lot of people that were kind of dead wood," said Colleen Sullivan Leonard, a staff member in Palin's office. "We needed people with new energy and a new vision."
Tune in next week for more adventures of Palin the Mighty Reformer! - same reformer channel - same reformer time.
so tonight the pelicans will entertain with their own reality show...palin's crew is beginning to make "dog"'s family look normal.
I heard that Obama is going on Olrielly??? a parent's story in Boulder is that Oriely gave his word that he would not talk about his kids in an interview. Oriely LIED and did it anyway.
There is nothing in gain from this!!!!!!
Posted by johncook on September 3, 2008 at 08:27 PM I heard that Obama is going on Olrielly?
Obama can talk to anyone about anything and come out ahead. If it's live (unedited) I wouldn't be concerned. He needs to reach out to everyone.
both at home and when president - abroad.
Can't have it both ways. The Republican Vice President Canadate was introduced as a soccer mom, a wife, a mother of 5 as well as Governor of Alaska, a former mayor of a Podunk town and a former PTA president. Now First Lady Bush is calling the press sexist. If the party did not want her sex to be an issue they should not have used it from the onset. Republicans have always had double standards!
South
dorsano,
Obama and Biden were on 60 Minutes last Sunday. I was really impressed.
I just bought Obama yard signs for myself and neighbors. One of our idiot neighbors put out a McLame yard sign. He is such a fool. We are going to surround it with bigger Obama signs.

Ooops, open mic
Peggy Noonan was a primary speech writer and Special Assistant to President Ronald Reagan. She is considered a political conservative.
Michael Murphy is a Republican political consultant (Mitt Romney this time around)
Noonan: [Can't hear since Todd (who is still on air) is talking over her]Murphy: Um, you know, because, I come out of the blue swing state governor world. Engler, Whitman, Tommy Thompson, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, I mean, and these guys, this is all like how you win a Texas race, just run it up, and it's not gonna work.
Noonan: It's Over.
Murphy: Still, McCain can give a version of the Lieberman speech and do himself some good.
Todd: Don't you think this Palin pick is insulting to Kay Bailey Hutchinson to...
Noonan: I saw Kay this morning...
Todd: She's never looked comfortable about..
Murphy: They're all bummed out.
Todd: I mean, is she really the most qualified woman they could have turned to?
Noonan: The most qualified? No. I think they went for this, excuse me, political bullshit about narratives and youthfulness and the picture...
Todd: Yeah, but what's the narrative?
Murphy: I totally agree.
Noonan: Every time Republicans do that, because that's not where they live and it's not what they're good at, they blow it.
Murphy: You know what's the worst thing about it, the greatness of McCain is no cynicism, and..
Murphy and Todd together: This is cynical.
Todd: And as you called it, gimmicky.
Chassie and Johne: Thanks for the advice about the blog but I run Mac and am using Safari. Only after the 'improved' blog could I use the icons to the right of "Comments:"
I used to be able to hit, 'blog' at the top, go out to the main blog page and then back into the current comments but that no longer works. For the moment, until I find something better (by trial and error) I will have to use the . post.
So the Palin's are going to have a shot-gun wedding. Isn't that nice. It's a good thing they have "shot-gun" Cheney to help out. I can't wait to meet the young man. I wonder if they will give him a job in McLame's cabinet? He is going to need a job to support that baby. Oh, wait, I forgot. For repuglickins, life starts at conception but ENDS at birth. I guess he won't be getting that cabinet job after all.
If you want to see some strong, independent women who know how to deliver the goods turn on the U.S. Open tonight. The Williams Sisters are playing each other.
They are a winning ticket.
Did you guys see the video on huffingtonpost where 3 pundints somehow got recorded. One says it's over for the republicans, the other says this style of move works in state elections but not in national elections. If you haven't seen it you must. LMAO

Pam - more people watched us instead of them? Well, maybe it had something to do with due to the fact that we had REAL people there instead of cutouts!
Hi chicago, Got my Obama/Biden sign yesterday, and it is now proudly up.

Pam,
Great to see you. I always enjoy your posts. I live on a corner lot so I'm putting one on the front and one on the side.

I don't know if I have enough wine to make it through this night.
Nothing like pandering the lowest intelligent level/ill informed population in the country.
Mitt attacking east coast elitist.
George III the washington outsider.
Earmark queen, making Leona Helmsley look like the good witch, and whinning about the sexist attacks of the big bad media.
(well, it could be exciting, she could pull out a six shooter to take out the big bad media and attack the faux news booth.
Not to mention Huckleberry Hound and "a noun verb and 9/11"
Gonna log out, Dems, but each day is like a birthday, isn't it? It just gets better and better. Who is it that says 'you can't make this stuff up!"? I think it is newsjunkie.
But I just smile and smile as the crap on Palin piles up higher and higher. Any Republican who thinks this is some kind of Family Value person, is just plain NUTS! Make room on the Republican Wall of Shame for another name:
Sarah Palin!!!
Posted by PamB on September 3, 2008 at 09:26 PM Gonna log out, Dems
Night, Pam - I need to head out soon myself
Got a story - as everyone knows I work in a very red state, in a very red county, in a very red city and a very red office. A bunch of the hens were going on and on about what's her name saying they thought she was just great and that the people in Alaska just love her. I emailed my boss and asked him to tell them to keep politics out of the office. You see, I've been banned in speaking anything about my candidate - Obama. I was just about ready to blow when I heard him tell them to "hold it down".
Afterwards when everyone had left, he came up to me and looked around to see if anyone was still in the office - we were alone. He said, "McCain's pick of that lady has made me very angry". He continued that it was an insult to white males and that he was going to take another look at Obama. He's a die heart republican.
Something might be happening that we're not aware of - if this is happening in one lttle office in a very red area - who knows.
Just had to share.....
Judging by all the empty seats, they didn't really need to hold this convention in a big venue. They could have gotten one of the back rooms at the save-way value-mart.
Hey, were are Silly Sally and Dufuss Dan. Our pet Stupid Republican trolls must be out cleaning toilets at the Repug convention.
(A dirty job since we all know repuglickins are full it)
The Huckster sounds like hes campaining for himself, instead of for McNuts.
Posted by PamB on September 3, 2008 at 09:16 PM I hope there are Crows in MN, because there is one troll there who will be salting and swallowing it, on November 4th
He's irrelavant. And he won't change - when all is said done he'll be exactly who is now - and he'll still come around to muck up the place.
Just had to share.....

Kathy,
being a natural-born hoosier myself, I appreciate the significance of that post. I still have a lot of relatives in Indiana; some of them die-hard republicans. And they are not real happy with McLame or his beauty-queen side-kick.
Thanks Chicago - now I must run...tomorrow guys.
Considering the ads McLame ran regarding the fact that Obama did not choose Hillary as VP, you have to wonder how Huckabee feels after being passed over for Sarah because he doesn't have boobs.
Posted by Kathy_from_Indiana on September 3, 2008 at 09:28 PM Got a story
I've got two daughters in IN, Kathy. One's in school the other runs a small (green) business. IN will be closer race this year than others but the changing democraphics will eventually turn it blue so long as the Democratic Party stays in the sweet spot of American politics that Bill Clinton put us in - if it veers to far left they'll be another shakeup.
Has Sarah invoked the standard republican mantra yet? You know, the one where they say,
"I cannot comment on an on-going investigation". The line they use for all their scandals to keep from having to answer question from the press.
I think I just saw one of the poeple at the RNC convention hold up a sign that said,
"We're for oil"
Well Duh...
Posted by Chicago on September 3, 2008 at 09:49 PM I think I just saw one of the poeple at the RNC convention hold up a sign that said,

The Republican theme of "Country First" would work for me if they had printed the whole theme out "County First - Corporations Second"
The printer messed up the signs. They had to go with what they were given.
I didn't realize the repubican governor of Hawaii was an idiot. She is claiming neither Obama or Biden have "executive experience". Hello? By that definition, neither does McLame! But Sarah was the governor of 600k people. Gosh. That's like one whole precinct in Chicago.
I'm not sure... I may have ended up on the wrong channel. Is CSPAN airing the repuglican convention or a rerun of the twighlight zone?
Oh it is so sad to watch them all try to put a happy face on this convention. The empty seats. Bush not being allowed in. Cheney running and hiding. Everyone being surprised by the up-coming shot-gun wedding. And now Rudy-9/11-Gooliani is speaking. Can this get any worse?
Rudy Giuliani
Newt Gingrich
John Mclame
So much for family values...
Can this get any worse?

Check this out if you have the time, Chicago Reclaiming Conservatism: How a Great American Political Movement Got Lost--And How It Can Find Its Way Back
It's a good read - there's not much in there that I disagree with.
I've been snarky tonight but I don't which care which party governs the nation so long as it's govern properly.
Mick Edwards has some things to say that we all should listen too.
What is really sad, is to listen to Rudi claim Obama cannot lead in a crisis. Well if we kick repuglican out of office, maybe we can stop having to "lead in a crisis".
Rudi just said "If you don't have the facts, you just change them" slip of the repug policy.
Drill baby drill they are cheering. does GOP stand for Got a peabrain?
They should at least put on someone funny, like Red Skelton, Jackie Gleason, Bob Hope, Jack Benny. I know there gone and i miss them. But if they would put on someone funny, it would'nt be so damn boring.
OMG! Look, she has her daughter and her baby daddy there. Just think this guy is like, Holy Crap I'm sitting here at the Republican Presidental Convention and My babies grandmomma might be VP of the US. God life is soo goood and all I had to do was not wear a condom.
This is a f ing joke.

Associated Press Writer
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God."
In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it "God's will."
A video of the speech was posted at the Wasilla Assembly of God's Web site before finding its way on to other sites on the Internet
"God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.
"I can do my job there in developing our natural resources and doing things like getting the roads paved and making sure our troopers have their cop cars and their uniforms and their guns, and making sure our public schools are funded," she added. "But really all of that stuff doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's heart isn't right with God."
Rob Boston, a spokesman for Americans United for Separation of Church and State, lamented Palin's comments.
"I miss the days when pastors delivered sermons and politicians delivered political speeches," he said. "The United States is increasingly diverse religiously. The job of a president is to unify all those different people and bring them together around policy goals, not to act as a kind of national pastor and bring people to God."
The section of the church's Web site where videos of past sermons were posted was shut down Wednesday, and a message was posted saying that the site "was never intended to handle the traffic it has received in the last few days."
More.................
Let's all watch Rudi re-write history.
The surge is working.
John McLame was right.
I did not have my mistress living with me while I was still married.
Senator Obama's Resume
Barack Obama has an outstanding resume. Why aren't the Democratic Party and his surrogates telling the country about it at every opportunity?
Sen. Obama received a bachelor's degree in political science with a specialization in international relations from Columbia. He then moved to Chicago and became a community organizer. From June 1985 to May 1988, he served as director of the Developing Communities Project (DCP), a church-based community organization originally comprising eight Catholic parishes on Chicago's far South Side. During Obama's three years as the DCP's director, its annual budget grew from $70,000 to $400,000. Under his guidance, its accomplishments included helping set up a job training program, a college preparatory tutoring program and a tenants' rights organization. He also worked as a consultant and instructor for the Gamaliel Foundation, a community organizing institute.
He entered Harvard Law School in 1988 and was selected to be editor of the prestigious Harvard Law Review at the end of his first year. He later was elected the first black president of the Harvard Law Review and graduated with his Juris Doctor degree magna cum laude in 1991. Those are no mean feats.
Obama passed up the lucrative jobs at major law firms that his accomplishments at Harvard would have made possible to become a practicing civil rights attorney in Chicago and resume his work as a community organizer there. He directed Illinois Project Vote from April to October 1992, a voter registration drive with a staff of 10 and 700 volunteers that achieved its goal of registering 150,000 of 400,000 unregistered African Americans in the state. He was a founding member of the board of directors of Public Allies in 1992, became the founding executive director of Public Allies Chicago in early 1993. He served on the board of directors of the Woods Fund of Chicago from 1993–2002 and served on the board of directors of The Joyce Foundation from 1994–2002. Obama served on the board of directors of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge from 1995–2002, as founding president and chairman of the board of directors from 1995–1999. He also served on the board of directors of the Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, the Center for Neighborhood Technology and the Lugenia Burns Hope Center.
Obama taught constitutional law from 1992 to 2004 at the University of Chicago, as a lecturer for four years and then as senior lecturer for eight years. Consequently, unlike George Bush, John McCain or Sarah Palin, he actually knows what that document says.
In 1996 he was elected to the Illinois Senate, where he served from 1997 to 2004. During his tenure in the Senate, Obama worked to pass legislation reforming ethics and health-care laws, increasing tax credits for low-income workers, enacting welfare reform, promoting increased subsidies for childcare, regulating payday loans, averting home foreclosures caused by predatory mortgage loans and monitoring racial profiling by police.
He won a seat in the U.S. Senate in 2004. While serving in the Senate, he worked on and/or voted for legislation on national security, defense, immigration, foreign aid, energy, ethics and federal elections, among other things.
Democrats seem to think that saying anything about a Democratic candidate's accomplishments is tantamount to bragging. That is incorrect. It is simply putting one's best foot forward. Sen. Obama need not speak about his accomplishments. His surrogates should do it for him so that he can concentrate on the issues.
By virtue of his education, intellect and wide-ranging experience, Barack Obama is head and shoulders above John McCain. There certainly is no comparison between Sen. Obama and a small-time politician like Sarah Palin. The Democratic Party should make sure that the American public knows it.
I hope you are all watching the RNC right now? Why are all of you for Barack Obama what is he going to change?
Rudi is suppose to be the keynote speaker. I guess issues are off the table and personal attacks are the plan of the day.
I hope we are ready to respond strongly!!!!

:)
If you aren't for Iraq, you're not for America.
We are all Georgians.
Palin has more experience than their whole ticket.
Rudy is really pushing the envelope tonight.
Rudy is flatuating rovian one liners so much that the little nrc crowd is going into a fumial intoxicated schizo frenzy. Poor lost souls.
Pam, I read an article that shocked me but now I think Carl Rove Makes This Stuff Up. There was an article that the stuff fed to Daily Kos on Trig really being the daughters baby was made up by Rove. One day it was all scrubed. They say he sets up the pins and then knocks them down himself and then cries fowl.
That is his signature and seems to be his ongoing strategy. The enquirer is supposedly coming out that Palin had an affair, they make a bold stmt. that they vet better than mccain and don't favor either political party. I think it is Rove. Set it up, knock down the story, then cry sexism and media bias. Then the masses think troopergate is not real and hillery supporters that cried sexism will go to McCain. This is the sick corrupt mind of Carl Rove and I'm not bittin any more.
Posted by Johne on September 3, 2008 at 10:22 PM "God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.
If God feels that the pipe line should be built, I suspect that he also feels Sarah should not abdicate leadership on that issue to him.
I just watched some of the republican convention and am horrified with their rhetoric. I heard Mr. Romney say that we must fight the evil of Islam,(oh, we must hate an entire religion) that the liberals caused the country's money problems(I thought that was from 'the war'by Mr.Bush) that the liberals were having our country be "Big Brother"(was that not our current admin.that created the Patriot Act?)that McCain would deal with the "mindnumbing" tax code for us, (since when are we to feeble to deal with the tax code ourselves?)etc etc. I have been screaming at my T.V. all evening, typing on here is my outlet, thank you. I am looking for HOPE and CHANGE and I can deal with my own tax code, thank you.
So I just wanted to let all of you people on this blog know that the next Vice President of the United States of America is on Fox News, CNN (also known as the Communist News Network) and CSPAN right now. Just wanted to let you know that this mother of 5 and soon to be Grandmother of a child who her daughter wishes to conceive is one of the best choices for Vice President by anyone! Also, all of the attacks thrown at her are nothing new to her...as I said the mother of 5 and one which is a child born with down syndrome. I just wanted to let all of you know that you are wasting your time bashing her because it is digging up a bunch of Republicans who would want nothing less than to see Obama(just a celebrity) lose! Which he will you all just wait and see! Well I am excited for this election because no one wants to see a muslim that's right I said it MUSLIM win and take over the United States of America! Well good luck to all of you, you will for sure need it!
God bless Sara Palin
God bless John S. McCain
And last but not least,
GOD BLESS AMERICA
Jennie
How do any people vote republican when they only recycle lies over and over, and apparently they think George W is a democrat because they are blaming all of the worlds problems of the last 8 years on the democrats! What a joke!
Sup034, read my above post, for starters Rove is gone. That would make america better. Secondly Bush and Cheney would be gone. In fact the Elitist McCain will attack Iran and who knows who else so he can start skimming of the no-bid war contracts. Obama will get us out of Iraq, then with the two billion a week we are waisting we can fix our roads and bridges that the republicans have left to rot. Then we will not give American Companies Tax Breaks to leave america in search of cheap commie labor in China. Obama will label the country of origin for our food so we can choose to not be poisened by china. We will have a president who builds up the middle class by investing in new energy here at home and he will create american jobs on american soil and give those companies the tax breaks, didn't you hear his speech, how could you ask such a stupid question.
I bet she don't say that she supports shooting Wolves from air planes, anyone care to wager.
Mr. Rove has known Mr. Abramoff for about two decades, according to White House spokesman Scott McClellan. Both are former top officials of the College Republicans, many of whose alumni have gone on to national prominence within the party. http://online.wsj.com/public/article_print/SB113935546071667719-auNBNLep_LngFIKDTwQ9vhhx3eY_20070208.html
Sup034, keep drinking the kook aide, let me guess you didn't go to college. I can tell by your inability to think. Obama is a genius and we will win. Palin is a gimmick. McCain knew he was going to lose so he tried this gimmick. You were going to vote McCan't anyway, and Hillary supporters will never vote for Palin.
I'm glad your soo excited but it will fade fast, trust me.
Posted by Demo-lition_Derby on September 3, 2008 at 10:25 PM Barack Obama has an outstanding resume. Why aren't the Democratic Party and his surrogates telling the country about it at every opportunity?
There's no need - he's already leading the nation - and everyone knows it (but the media can't say that because they have to appear impartial).
The directive should be "Explain to me what Barack Obama has done on the national stage that you don't want him to do on the world stage."
Rudi is on a roll.
We're the party...
A few things he forgot to mention:
We're the party that lied you into the Iraq war.

Susan Ralston stepped down from her post as a special assistant to President Bush.
A congressional report showed she had extensive contacts with Abramoff and had accepted tickets to sporting events and concerts from him. More than 300 members of the 109th Congress received campaign contributions from a client of Jack Abramoff while he was their lobbyist—81 Senators and 227 members of the House of Representatives, the Center found. On average, each recipient got about $16,000.
President Bush received nearly $50,000 from Abramoff’s clients. Top congressional recipients included a who’s who of the Republican leadership in Congress. Prominent names include House Speaker Dennis Hastert of Illinois ($68,300 in contributions), House Republican Conference Secretary John Doolittle of California ($56,250) and Montana Sen. Conrad Burns ($52,340). Also on the list is former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay of Texas ($44,000), who once employed convicted Abramoff associates Tony Rudy and Michael Scanlon on Capitol Hill. DeLay’s successor, Rep. John Boehner of Ohio, received $30,500.
Unlike Abramoff himself, who along with his wife contributed $225,000 of their personal money to Republicans only, his clients were less partisan in their political contributions. While some gave almost exclusively to one party, on average they gave 73 percent of their money to Republicans and the remainder to Democrats.
ryvkah,
Let me get this straight. Is mitt calling bush a liberal? Everything he blames on the liberals is exactly what bush did to the country. Why isn't he honest and say that the country is in such terrible shape because of his buddy bush and the neocons in congress.
Friends: Abramoff a changed man, deserves leniency By MATT APUZZO, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - It used to be, when Jack Abramoff needed something, he had an address book full of powerful Capitol Hill contacts to call on, people he plied with expensive meals, campaign contributions and golf junkets.
Now that the disgraced lobbyist is asking people to stand by his side while he seeks a reduction in his prison sentence, the list of supporters has changed. The congressmen, Bush administration figures and aides have given way to family members, friends and religious leaders.
Defense attorneys filed 95 letters in court Wednesday night as part of a bid to get Abramoff out of prison early. They describe him as a humbled, changed man whose family is suffering and nearly broke after his first 18 months in prison.
In 2006, Abramoff began serving nearly six years for a fraudulent Florida casino deal. On top of that, he faces about 11 years in prison when he is sentenced on corruption charges next week in Washington.
Prosecutors have asked for leniency because Abramoff became the key witness in his own scandal, helping convict lawmakers and Washington power brokers. The Justice Department asked that the Florida sentence be reduced to less than four years and the Washington sentence be five years and four months, with credit for his time in prison.
That means Abramoff could be eligible for release sometime in 2011. Defense attorney Abbe Lowell is asking for even less time, a request that could make Abramoff eligible for release as early as 2009.
Lowell sought to differentiate Abramoff, who has become a symbol of Washington's lobbying excesses, from other corrupt figures in the news. Without naming them, Lowell describes Rep. William Jefferson, D-La., who is accused of keeping bribe money in his freezer, and Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, who is charged with lying about hundreds of thousands of dollars in home renovations and gifts from a contractor.
Abramoff's crimes stretched or ignored lobbying laws, Lowell said, but were not outright bribery.
In prison, Abramoff has focused on studying Judaism and helping fellow inmates, friends said. He has taught classes entitled "Parenting from a Distance," "Modern Marvels," "Cinema Studies," and "The Holocaust in Films," his attorneys said. He is currently teaching a motion picture theory class.
Abramoff's cooperation helped send former Rep. Bob Ney, R-Ohio, and former Deputy Interior Secretary J. Steven Griles to prison. In court documents, Lowell hinted that others may soon follow, saying Abramoff "assisted with the government's investigation of scores of other persons who have not yet been charged."
Abramoff's sentencing Sept. 4 will be his first court appearance in years. Because nearly everyone in the corruption case has so far pleaded guilty rather than going to trial, Abramoff has not had to take the witness stand and tell his story. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080828/ap_on_go_ot/abramoff_prison;_ylt=AtHSixHBciereq08CCOa7JWyFz4D

Thanks for sharing, sup 034 - and thanks for outing those Cummuniests.
The MSN is now going to tear her, and McNuts to shreds!!!!!!!
The only thing the Palin speech has motivated me to do is...turn off the TV and write a check to Obama's campaign.....!!!
The Republicans have to reach back to "Ronnie" to find something positive to talk about? What happen to the last Republican Governor they elected to the White House???
Same OLD Republican scare tactics. Swiftboating!!...they are taking it to a whole new level now!
YUK!!!
palin's voice is an instrument of torture.
there is a saturday night live character from the early days the voice reminds me of but i can't quite remember....was it the church lady?
If Rudi's so good at it why did they take him off last night's schedule and put him on tonight's schedule, off prime time? Here's a guy so wrapped in repug supporters he didn't make it to his first and only primary, what a great American!
No truth to the rumor that Todd Palin's registration with the Alaskan Independence Party in 1995 and 2000, was only to assist in the secession of Alaska from the United States of America, they just want all federal land stripped from the rest of us and given to Alaskan citizens. Probably an effort to restore hunting and fishing rights for Native Eskimos (yeah, right). When each person in that state gets $2,000 for oil, why not go for the whole enchilada, beats working for a living.
palin's voice is an instrument of torture.

Thats my feeling exactly Gregg, I wonder how long it will be before her soon to be son in law, gives her a fat lip, so he don't have to listen to the torture?

I'm sorry, Jennie - what I should have said was "thank you for being involved" - no snark in that. Please accept my apologies.
What did Palin threaten to do, sue McCain if she wasn't nominated.... As much as I disagree with him, I never believed he was this crazy. Even living in the deep south of the Bible Belt, I will scream from the highest Pine Tree elect Obama!!! Not popular but too afraid of the evil I am witnessing tonight! I have never felt stronger about rallying against these types of values and evil spinning.
Posted by dorsano on September 3, 2008 at 10:46 PM
Can't resist, can ya? :)
Good evening, all.
Palin's got this school marm vibe thing going on tonight. She's lecturing. She's coming across as the Christian Right matron not the Washington Outsider maverick.
Who media trained her? All the charm is gone.
They are trying to make her into the Iron Maiden. It's not working. And it's really a shame. I know a lot of people were hoping that she was something different.
My husband just turned the tennis match back on. He said he could get that kind of treatment from his supervisor at work.
And what happened to the 10-minute film showing us who she is and where she came from? They didn't have time to get it vetted either? McCain put off his decision to the last minute and it's blowing up in this woman's face?
Talk about judgment. This is criminal.
To take a rookie and not even give her the basic support media tools that she needed to make a good first impression. Nobody should put someone out there and expect them to carry the day without the usual respect you give to the second in line.
Criminal.
This is no way to treat any running mate. And it certainly isn't any way to treat their Party's first woman veep candidate in her first time on the national stage.
I'm going to wait until tomorrow and watch this speech without all the men in my household dismissing her within the first two minutes and walking away.
She deserves that much.
John McCain just went down even lower in my estimation. He has no judgment and no class. How could he have done this to any running mate...maybe if he had gotten to know her first?
Good night, all.
the blantant lies, untruths and vitriolic attacks upon decent caring people we're hearing from the repugnicants can mean only that they are desperate. like caged and wounded animals they instinctively lash out in viscious defensiveness. someone said earlier today that they felt sorry for the poor creatures. i say the only truely humane action for us to take is to alleviate their suffering as quickly and painlessly as possible...the silver bullet of truth administered between the eyes should do the trick...truth to power.
Peace
btw...giuliani's comment about not mentioning the word's 'islamic terrorists' for the four days of the democratic convention because someone might be offended was completely and utterly uncalled for...and he knew he had stepped into a big pile of shit after he said it.
So many lies and so little time to dispel them. I hope the Obama Campaign and the Democratic Party are going to go out tomorrow and aggressively tell the truth about all these lies. We need an instantaneous truth squad.
I'm so damn sick of hearing about McNuts torture, there was 600 other Pow's there to.
when are archie and jughead gonna carry veronica off the stage and down to mr. weatherbee's office for a paddling?
John McCain. What an honorable man! It is so inspiring to think of how honorably he treated his wife who waited five years for him when he was imprisoned, only to be thrown over for Cindy the home wrecker.
Quick question...
Since hte GOP is now touting Palins' ''executive experience'' and hammering that Obama has none...doesn't that mean she would also be more qualified than McCain?? What executive decisions has McCain (graduate near the bottom of my Annapolis class...crash 5 jets) made??
It was a good speech,to a half sold out crowd, if your a republican. Too bad she didn't write it, Obama writes his own speeches.

I need to see your ugly face every once in awhile to confirm that I'm not the ugliest person in the world.
So is it true that pat boon will sing tonight also? I can hardly wait!
this is the kind of high school ass kisser everyone hates...and this time they will enjoy voting against her.
Gee, I didn't hear her say anything about real issues yet.
I guess they have no answers so she stuck to personal attacks on Obama and his wife.
BIDEN, TAKE THE GLOVES OFF AND SEND HER BACK TO ALASKA CRYING!!!
I wonder which parts of that speech Carl "Turd Blossom*" Rove dreamed up and which parts the Barracuda wrote. The ratio is probably 80/20.
*I didn't make that up. It's George's term of endearment for his old sidekick.
McCain on Palin: 'Don’t you think we made the right choice?
No I don't Senator - I think you are irresponsible and reckless - and desperate - and willing to gamble away the security of our country in exchange for a bed in White House.
Democratic candidates are so careful not to say anything politically incorrect. The Dems bent over backward at their convention not to insult McClain or any Republicans. What happens? Barack Obama and the Democratic Party get smacked
