Mary, i don't know, i had that network taken off of my Dish in 2004. I can't stand the network of spin master's, liars, and thieves.
If that was the only channel on t.v. i would take a shotgun to it, and deep six it.
Joe Biden
Biden Takes On 'Red October' Thompson
By Perry Bacon Jr.
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Vice presidential nominee Sen. Joe Biden attacked a series of Republicans in a speech here, taking on not only Sen. John McCain, but McCain campaign manager Rick Davis, President Bush and former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson.
"I don't think I would run into a single Floridian who would walk up to me and say, 'Joe, the economy is doing great' ... unless I bumped into John or maybe Fred," Biden told a crowd of several hundred at a community center here, as he referred to speeches Tuesday night at the Republican National Convention.
McCain has acknowledged Americans are struggling with a slowing economy, but in a speech at the convention, Thompson attacked Obama's economic plan, saying "you don't lift an economic downturn by imposing one of the largest tax increases in American history."
Referring to Bush's speech praising McCain, Biden cast them as the Minnesota Twins.
"George Bush said, quote, 'The man we need is John McCain,' " Biden said. "John has earned this endorsement; he's voted with him 90 percent of the time."
(Bush in that speech emphasized he and McCain had often disagreed on key issues.)
And Biden criticized a remark made by Davis, who told The Post in an interview, "This election is not about issues -- this election is about a composite view of what people take away from these candidates."
"Not about issues!" Biden said. "That means to them this election is not about whether you're able to scrape up the tuition money to send your kid to college."
Biden, on the third day of a campaign swing targeting older white and working class voters, delighted in deepening his voice as he tried to mimic Thompson, who he referred to as "Red October."
"Fred went there up and said, 'Well, the Democrats are going to raise your taxes,'" Biden said in a low tone as the crowd laughed. "I don't know why we need to give another tax break to Exxon Mobil."
The two campaigns have been debating tax policy for weeks, as the GOP argues that Obama's refusal to extend tax cuts for Americans who make more than $250,000 a year would slow the economy, while Democrats have said McCain's proposed tax cuts for all corporations is akin to a handout to oil companies.
The Florida event marked some of the sharpest criticisms of McCain by Biden since his speech at the Democratic convention last week.
But much of the Delaware senator's rhetoric in his first solo campaign swing has consisted of passionate and at times rambling defenses against perceived Obama weaknesses.
He defended Obama's calls for a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq, noting the Iraqi government and the Bush administration have discussed similar proposals, even as Republicans have suggested he wants to "surrender" from Iraq.
"If Barack Obama is the agent of surrender, George Bush is signing the surrender papers," Biden said.
The senator's defense of Obama was not perfect: Just as he had last week, he referred to Obama's wisdom in proposing to send two additional battalions to Afghanistan. Obama has proposed to send two more brigades, not battalions, which are much smaller.

Guess who is going to be whining tonight?
The first excerpt released from Palin's speech tonight has her complaining that the press is picking on her because she isn't part of the Washington Elite.
She's running with a Washington Elitist of 26 years.
What a line up, Ruddy, the Huckster, and Mittens,
and watch ma call it.

My husband and the kids at my house get frustrated because I keep deleting the channel. They don't like the idiots any more than I do, they just like the sports programming like MLB and NFL.
Chassie: I have a theory on Rudy toot, tootie. He does not currently have a mistress - unusual for him - only because he does not have the city of New York to bill for his trysts!
OMG!!
This extravaganza starts in 20 minutes, and the seats are STILL mostly empty!
Is it ignorance, or is it apathy?
By the looks of it, the Pugs are saying "I don't know, and I don't care".
That woman hasn't seen anything yet. Stephanie Miller mentioned the cardboard cutouts the rnc used in the empty seats last night. Look for them again tonight.
It appears that the religious freak mcgeezer picked for his vp is going to showcase here daughter and her daughter's lover tonight. How depraved.
These people have no shame. If bush and cheney were decent human beings they would have resigned years ago. Obviously bush and cheney are from the shallow end of the gene pool. At least Nixon had the decency to resign.
king bush the first and barbara did a crappy job of raising their kids. They are all either criminals, arrogant, greedy, addicted or morons. Take your pick. I'll be they are proud parents.
Jesus Effin' Christ on a pogo stick!!
These assholes are passing out "9-11" signs to the "crowd" with the ONE digits being represented by the Twin Towers. Is there no depth that they will sink to in order to say "We effed up last time, give us another chance"?
Talk about pandering.
Hey, Chimpy...
WHERE IS OSAMA BIN LADEN!???
He sure as HELL ain't hiding in your "brush" in Crapfest TX. (Otherwise you would have "found" him, right?)
According to CBS news the war and the economy are no longer the issues in this election. CBS announced that the big issue this election is abortion.
rove is making it abortion which we can't let this bastard get away with. Damn the MSM.

Johne did you see where the Chimp and "Dick and he is Cheney" is going to give one billion dollars to Georgia to rebuild there military.
At least Nixon had the decency to resign.
Posted by Johne on September 3, 2008 at 07:38 PM
John: Nixon was forced to resign because back then there were some decent people who had integrity in the Republican Party. Now, the decent people (like Chuck Hagel) have been run out of the Republican Party by neo-con sellouts and their political henchmen like KKKarl Rove. The Eisenhower Republicans would be ashamed of the current incarnation of liars, thieves, traitors, and perverts who are now in charge of the Republican Party. By the way, are you aware that KKKarl was a Watergate Conspirator. The only reason that he was not indicted was because he was a very low-level conspirator and by the time his role was uncovered, the prosceution was on to bigger fish - like Nixon! Also, Nixon referred to F. Thompson as the "stupidest sob on earth' when Thompson was actually feeding Nixon and co. inside information about the prosecution! Even Nixon would have disowned this stupid, scummy bunch!
DPD,
That's thoroughly disgusting.
bush brought us 9/11, Katrina and the invasion of Russia. Are they going to have signs glorifying Katrina and our interference in Georgia and how patriotic it was.
These people are hopeless morons.
I apologize for keeping posting 'dots' but it's the only way that I can see the posts. Re-fresh and Preview just send me back out to the home page.
What is the average IQ of the neocon party. I'll bet it is in the single digits.
They remind of the bank robber who wrote his stickup note on the back of his driver license then left it at the tellers window when he ran out.
Well it looks like I'm going to have my work cut out this weekend, John King of CNN just reported that Palin, will be in the pan handle of Florida this week end, campaigning
And I'm going to be in the pan handle of Florida also, campaigning for Obama and Bi den., this week end.
This is going to be a hard fought state.
Mary,
That is strange. I am having no trouble at all tonight.
Are you using Firefox? It seems to work better than Explorer.
John McCain: "Sittin' on the bottom of the bay / 'Cause I skipped the class on how to blow the canopy away"
For reasons that were just as obvious then as they are today, John McCain was known as "John Wayne McCain" while attending the U.S. Naval Academy. His favorite sobriquet of "maverick" is, and always has been, a cover for his inability to follow the rules and his penchant for knee-jerk decisions, both of which are amply evident in his largely unvetted choice of Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska. McCain's proclivity to shoot from the hip is a life-long trait, stemming from a pronounced tendency toward rebellion against his naval officer father and a distaste for following prescribed courses of studies when in school. The following excerpts from a CNN program called "McCain Revealed" shows how these characteristics almost got McCain killed during a training flight while in naval air school in Texas:
JOHN KING: His next proving ground was one chosen for him--Annapolis. Duty eclipsed desire. The military legacy of his father and grandfather trumped McCain's huge love of literature and his dream of a liberal arts education at Princeton or the University of Virginia.
MCCAIN: I think I knew I was going to go to the Naval Academy, and I'm sure that part of my excuse for being rebellious was that I wanted to go to one of those schools. By the way, it's by no means certain that I could have gotten in.
CHUCK LARSON: He accepted it, although he rebelled occasionally.
KING: Chuck Larson met fellow midshipman John McCain in 1955. Everyone knew both McCain's family lineage and his bad boy reputation. Larson and McCain hit it off. The "Bad Bunch" was formed.
LARSON: A group that liked to have fun, and, of course, we were always looking for dates. Women were very attracted to John.
FRANK AMBOA: Socially, it was very wise to hang out with John because you'd get invited to a lot of parties.
KING: Frank Amboa was John McCain's roommate at Annapolis. Amboa remembers his first encounter with his roommate's father, a highly decorated naval captain, the fall of 1955.
AMBOA: John had gotten up and gone over to the sink and got a glass of water and threw it on us, so that deteriorated into melee and water fight, and in the midst of this there came two knocks on the door. So we come to attention and I see John say, "Dad!"
MCCAIN: That was my dad who walked into the room. It was a ... it was a shocking moment for him.
AMBOA: And then I hear this gruff voice behind me, "This is a gross room. Carry on, gentlemen."
MCCAIN: My father was amazingly tolerant of some of my wild antics while at the Naval Academy.
AMBOA: And the captain said, "Goddammit, Johnny. No wonder you're flunking!"
KING: It was 1958. John McCain graduated Annapolis in the bottom five of his class [894 out of 899, in the .556 percentile], yet at the top of his game.
MCCAIN: I was going to be a naval aviator, and that's what I always wanted to do, and I wanted to fly airplanes by myself off of aircraft carriers. You know, I thought that was the height of glamor and excitement.
KING: Aviator training was rigorous, yet McCain loved happy hour and night life. His old Annapolis pal, now flight school roommate, Chuck Larson says McCain still preferred literature to required reading.
LARSON: John spent a lot of time reading, and he read Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire by Edward Gibbon
KING: At the expense of maybe ...
MCCAIN: Yes.
KING: ... learning how to eject?
MCCAIN: Yes, at the expense of maybe learning my flight procedures, which I probably should have given a higher priority to.
KING: Both men were on a training mission in 1958 when McCain nearly paid the ultimate price ... for doing things his way.
LARSON: He took off one plane ahead of me, and he had an engine failure and crashed into the [Corpus Christi] bay, and he sunk to the bottom. He was sitting on the bottom of the aircraft, and he said, "You know, I remember there's some kind of a switch here somewhere that blows the canopy off the airplane, but I didn't read that book, and I don't know where the switch is, so I guess I'm dead."
KING: McCain managed to wrench the canopy open and barely survived.
KING: A near death experience. How do you think that changed him, if at all?
LARSON: I don't think it changed him at all. John went back to the room, went to bed for about two hours, got up and said, "Let's go over to the club."
The record shows that McCain lost five planes in all, only two of which were lost in wartime due to circumstances beyond his control, to wit: one was lost when a rocket accidentally slammed into his plane on the deck of the U.S.S. Forestall Aircraft Carrier and another was shot down by the enemy in North Vietnam while he was piloting it. As for the other three, we have already noted the crash in Corpus Christi Bay while attempting to land after an alleged engine failure. While stationed in the Mediterranean, McCain hit power lines and crashed while flying too low over the Iberian Peninsula. Finally, while flying to an Army-Navy football game in a navy training aircraft, he radioed ahead that he had experienced a "flameout," and ejected from the plane before it crashed.
The crash last described was termed "unavoidable" by the Navy (possibly on account of extreme indulgence of his highly erratic behavior due to the fact that his father and grandfather concluded their naval careers as four-star admirals); but was it really unavoidable? According to Wikipedia, a "flameout" simply refers to "the failure of a jet engine caused by the extinction of the flame in the combustion chamber. It can be caused by a number of factors, including fuel exhaustion...." Obviously, "fuel exhaustion" is a euphemism for running out of fuel. You will recall what McCain said about doing extraneous things "at the expense of maybe learning my flight procedures, which I probably should have given a higher priority to." Could it be that McCain simply hopped in a jet without making sure it had enough fuel to reach his destination?
This is what scares me so badly about John McCain. He has flown by the seat of his pants all his life, and continues to do so. If McCain is elected President, I hope he does not wind up at the bottom of the bay (so to speak) with the whole country flying with him as his co-pilot if he makes a fatal miscalculation after failing to give sufficiently careful deliberation to a critical decision. In that case, "Whoops, I guess we're dead," will be a very sad commentary, indeed, on this country's inability to select Presidents who think deeply before they react.
Demo,
I was thinking about this the other night. Could his poor judgment have contributed to crashing five planes or is it his rashness?

(This site is gonna be comical on election night when all those Eastern blue states start falling for McCain/Palin.Posted by Sally-* on September 3, 2008 at 07:12 PM) - - - Sally and zell miller's evil twin will be hiding out with the rest of the looooser's when Barck & Joe walk out on stage to accept the keys to the white house from a GRATEFUL & VERY RELIEVED American Nation!
I know this is a long post, but for Hillary supporters it may be worth the read - It's a email I received from a strong Hillary support who was on the fence about not voting or voting for George III
Sara who?...Oh I get it she's a woman! WOW, imagine that a real woman picked as VP. Well by golly gee that's the ticket! Those republicans are so darn progressive...a woman. I just can't get over that. And I'm a woman so then it should follow that I will vote for her. Those republicans are so darn smart. Why shoot of course I'll vote for him cuz after all she's a woman & I'm a woman. Those republicans are so logical too because since she lives so close to Russia, you know she has foreign policy experience. And that makes perfect sense because when I moved into our neiborhood I was so excited to find that a car repair garage is just across the street which now makes me an experienced mechanic. I just love it so that the republicans think that I as a woman have at least half a brain since that's what we were left with when Eve gave Adam the other half.Or was it that Adam gave us half of his.? I don't know for sure but it was some body part like that. Gee I'll have to consult my book on Creationism. But anyway if Eve hadn't eaten that apple we could have maybe had a whole brain and not had to suffer from excruiating migranes when we try to give birth to an intelligent thought. The point I'm trying to make even though I have half a brain is that uh..uh..uh...Oh Yeah! I'm a woman and John McCain likes women a lot so I'll vote for John McCain. It's a no brainer!
All I can say is thank you John McCain. Your judgment in this case is outstanding!!!!! You crazy little maverick you. Now who do you have in mind for Attorney General? Star Jones? WOW that would be perfect cuz not only is she a woman, but she's an African American woman! Any picks for Defense Secretary you little 21st century reformer you? How's about Granny Clampet!!! She's a woman too and such a little old fireball. And just think how that will play in the backwoods of the Ozarks and Appalachia not to mention the senior centers. If she can take on a kangaroo in the ring by golly she could go up against any of those pesky dictators. And she knows so much about black gold, Texas "T". Now who could you appoint as Energy Secretary? Another woman you say? I got it! Charo!!!! She's a bundle of energy. Coochie! Choochie!! and she's a Latino woman!!!! Now we need someone to head up the FDA. My choice of course would be ....yes!!!! Another woman!! Perhaps Aunt Jemima cuz not only is she a former slave and African American but she's from the South!!! And then there's the Secretary of State. I'm thinking Martha Stewart cuz she's a woman and can throw a hell of party and could keep all your servants in line in the White House. And Deputy Secretary of State should be a woman as well. Someone like Ellen DeGeneres! She would be great at State dinners as the entertainment... Oops, she's a... dare I say... lesbian. Nix that John. Can't forget the Housing Secretary though. Again it must be a woman! Your best pick would be Leona Helmsly, but shoot she's gone on to her Five Star reward. Oh John the perfect fit for this position would be Paris Hilton. Her last name says it all and she's a YOUNG woman John, John. She has more houses than even you and most of them have her name blazoned on them across the globe. And I think she's half French cuz her first name sounds French to me and the Europeans would get a kick out of that and then maybe they'll be friends with us again. So who's it gonna be for the Secretary of the Interior? I know. A woman of course! But not just any woman. Let me think.....let me think.....I've got a great idea! Lets put Martha Stewart in that position. DUH!!! Sorry John-Boy. I just wasn't using my half a noodle by suggesting her for Secretary of State. She's so highly experienced in decorating and of course the most obvious choice. Then who could you choose as Secretary of State? Yes, another woman, but who could fill those shoes after Condi performed so beautifully in her Dolce & Gabbana's?...I have the solution! Lets allow Paris Hilton to work double duty for all of the above reasons and because she's a celebrity jet setter who can flit across the ocean at a moments notice when our country is in a crises with say...Norway or those barbaric Icelandenders! How perfect would that be you little old crusty trailblazer. But lets not forget the Department of Education. It can't be a man of course. And she's got to be a blonde because we all know that blondes are so smart and they have the most fun too. Think, think, think...Eureka!!! The obvious no-brainer would be Pamela Anderson! And if she can't remember the answer to an important question, why then all she has to do is tatoo it on those big teleprompters of hers.. And we all know that if she needs any advise, she can just dial up her ex-husband Tommy Lee, or better yet, Kid Rock! They have oodles of resources to spark up her synapses and get that half a brain firing on all cylinders. This gal doesn't suffer from an inflated ego either so that's at least one part of her anatomy that won't get in your way.
Oh Senator John McCain you're my hero and not just because you were a POW. Speaking of your POW status ( which I do not need to remind you to mention as often as possible...) John, whenever those nasty Democrats accuse you of using the "fear card", you just tell them that when you were a POW for 5 1/2 years you couldn't even play cards. And if they try to paint you as a hot head & that you should never be allowed to put your finger on the red button...why you just let them know that as a POW for 10 long years you didn't even have buttons on your dirty tattered shirt. I hate it when they call you a "flip flopper" too! Give 'em hell you little firebrand cuz you went barefoot in prison camp and they tied your hands behind your back and forced you to stick used chopsticks between your toes so you could eat all that lousy Chink food!
And when they make fun of all your boring, lackluster speeches that would comatose a chronic meth user you just answer "my friends" when I was a POW for 15 years I embraced bordom as my friend and vowed that if I ever get out of this camp I'm going to urge that it be taught in all the schools across America because it builds character!
And as far as women's rights. Women simply do not deserve equal pay for doing the same work as a man. After all we just have half a brain and we should be gratful that we can make 70 cents for every dollar a man makes cuz I'm pretty sure that's more than half. Some women are just whiners. And this business of a woman's Right to Choose. Some people just do not get it. Abortion should never be used as a form of birth control. Don't they realize that when some of those babies grow up and land in prison we can weed out the bad ones with a flip of a switch? Your good friend George took out over 400 alone in the state of Texas for heavens sake! And he didn't play favorites when he got rid of the mentally retarded one either.
Uncle John you and your fellow rich republican friends are so generous to the rest of the nation. Even I as a woman with half a brain knows that it's just plain stupid to tax the wealthy in our country. Haven't they ever heard of "Trickle Down Economics"!!! My blood boiled when I heard that scary black Muslim remark that the rich in this country are stingey
and that they tell us that we should just pull ourselves up by our boot straps and get to work so we can be rich like them. You should remind everyone that they are lucky to have boots. Cuz when you were a POW for 25 years you would have been grateful for a pair of flip flops!!!
Americans are so greedy John. They want better and more affordable health care too! How are we going to pay for that? In fact we women in this country could save a lot in health care expenses by doing what Mother Nature intended. I for one would be willing to just simply walk out into my backyard, squat down and pop out a baby and cut the cord with my bare teeth. After all isn't that what Indian sqaws use to do? And these women now live in exclusive neighborhoods called "reservations". I'm not sold on evolution, but part of Darwin's theory makes sense. We should just let nature take it's course and let the sick, stupid, weak and old die off. We could save big bucks! I think he called it "natural reduction" or something like that.
Senator McCain your selection of Sara what's her name for vice president was the cherry on the sundae that knocked me off the fence and right into your "camp". She's a regular little Annie Oakley. Why I'm thinking about getting me high-power rifle and do a little moose hunting with the family. Cook-outs just won't be complete anymore without slapping on some moose burgers on the grill!
What excites me the most dear Johnny is knowing that all the little girls and young women who aspire or become beauty queens can set their sites on becoming a vice president or even president someday! This is just the springboard to launch a little girl's dreams. And to think that your pick for vice president came this far as Miss Congeniality - well it just brings tears to my eyes. Only in this great nation could that happen and to think that you, Mr. McCain has made this all possible. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!
Johne:
Snap judgment almost always leads to poor judgment.
Dixie,
We had better watch out, mcgeezer might like your cabinet selections. They all have the required experience.
More of the same. ABC News is reporting Another Controversy for Sarah Palin
Apparently she fired the local police chief while mayor of Wasilla because the NRA asked her to - (they didn't like his stance on conceal and carry.)
And because the chief also tried to enforce the bar closing hour laws (the bars contributed to her campaign).
"We had a lot of people that were kind of dead wood," said Colleen Sullivan Leonard, a staff member in Palin's office. "We needed people with new energy and a new vision."
Tune in next week for more adventures of Palin the Mighty Reformer! - same reformer channel - same reformer time.
so tonight the pelicans will entertain with their own reality show...palin's crew is beginning to make "dog"'s family look normal.
I heard that Obama is going on Olrielly??? a parent's story in Boulder is that Oriely gave his word that he would not talk about his kids in an interview. Oriely LIED and did it anyway.
There is nothing in gain from this!!!!!!
Posted by johncook on September 3, 2008 at 08:27 PM I heard that Obama is going on Olrielly?
Obama can talk to anyone about anything and come out ahead. If it's live (unedited) I wouldn't be concerned. He needs to reach out to everyone.
both at home and when president - abroad.
Can't have it both ways. The Republican Vice President Canadate was introduced as a soccer mom, a wife, a mother of 5 as well as Governor of Alaska, a former mayor of a Podunk town and a former PTA president. Now First Lady Bush is calling the press sexist. If the party did not want her sex to be an issue they should not have used it from the onset. Republicans have always had double standards!
South
dorsano,
Obama and Biden were on 60 Minutes last Sunday. I was really impressed.
I just bought Obama yard signs for myself and neighbors. One of our idiot neighbors put out a McLame yard sign. He is such a fool. We are going to surround it with bigger Obama signs.

Ooops, open mic
Peggy Noonan was a primary speech writer and Special Assistant to President Ronald Reagan. She is considered a political conservative.
Michael Murphy is a Republican political consultant (Mitt Romney this time around)
Noonan: [Can't hear since Todd (who is still on air) is talking over her]Murphy: Um, you know, because, I come out of the blue swing state governor world. Engler, Whitman, Tommy Thompson, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, I mean, and these guys, this is all like how you win a Texas race, just run it up, and it's not gonna work.
Noonan: It's Over.
Murphy: Still, McCain can give a version of the Lieberman speech and do himself some good.
Todd: Don't you think this Palin pick is insulting to Kay Bailey Hutchinson to...
Noonan: I saw Kay this morning...
Todd: She's never looked comfortable about..
Murphy: They're all bummed out.
Todd: I mean, is she really the most qualified woman they could have turned to?
Noonan: The most qualified? No. I think they went for this, excuse me, political bullshit about narratives and youthfulness and the picture...
Todd: Yeah, but what's the narrative?
Murphy: I totally agree.
Noonan: Every time Republicans do that, because that's not where they live and it's not what they're good at, they blow it.
Murphy: You know what's the worst thing about it, the greatness of McCain is no cynicism, and..
Murphy and Todd together: This is cynical.
Todd: And as you called it, gimmicky.
Chassie and Johne: Thanks for the advice about the blog but I run Mac and am using Safari. Only after the 'improved' blog could I use the icons to the right of "Comments:"
I used to be able to hit, 'blog' at the top, go out to the main blog page and then back into the current comments but that no longer works. For the moment, until I find something better (by trial and error) I will have to use the . post.
So the Palin's are going to have a shot-gun wedding. Isn't that nice. It's a good thing they have "shot-gun" Cheney to help out. I can't wait to meet the young man. I wonder if they will give him a job in McLame's cabinet? He is going to need a job to support that baby. Oh, wait, I forgot. For repuglickins, life starts at conception but ENDS at birth. I guess he won't be getting that cabinet job after all.
If you want to see some strong, independent women who know how to deliver the goods turn on the U.S. Open tonight. The Williams Sisters are playing each other.
They are a winning ticket.
Did you guys see the video on huffingtonpost where 3 pundints somehow got recorded. One says it's over for the republicans, the other says this style of move works in state elections but not in national elections. If you haven't seen it you must. LMAO

Pam - more people watched us instead of them? Well, maybe it had something to do with due to the fact that we had REAL people there instead of cutouts!
Hi chicago, Got my Obama/Biden sign yesterday, and it is now proudly up.

Pam,
Great to see you. I always enjoy your posts. I live on a corner lot so I'm putting one on the front and one on the side.

I don't know if I have enough wine to make it through this night.
Nothing like pandering the lowest intelligent level/ill informed population in the country.
Mitt attacking east coast elitist.
George III the washington outsider.
Earmark queen, making Leona Helmsley look like the good witch, and whinning about the sexist attacks of the big bad media.
(well, it could be exciting, she could pull out a six shooter to take out the big bad media and attack the faux news booth.
Not to mention Huckleberry Hound and "a noun verb and 9/11"
Gonna log out, Dems, but each day is like a birthday, isn't it? It just gets better and better. Who is it that says 'you can't make this stuff up!"? I think it is newsjunkie.
But I just smile and smile as the crap on Palin piles up higher and higher. Any Republican who thinks this is some kind of Family Value person, is just plain NUTS! Make room on the Republican Wall of Shame for another name:
Sarah Palin!!!
Posted by PamB on September 3, 2008 at 09:26 PM Gonna log out, Dems
Night, Pam - I need to head out soon myself
Got a story - as everyone knows I work in a very red state, in a very red county, in a very red city and a very red office. A bunch of the hens were going on and on about what's her name saying they thought she was just great and that the people in Alaska just love her. I emailed my boss and asked him to tell them to keep politics out of the office. You see, I've been banned in speaking anything about my candidate - Obama. I was just about ready to blow when I heard him tell them to "hold it down".
Afterwards when everyone had left, he came up to me and looked around to see if anyone was still in the office - we were alone. He said, "McCain's pick of that lady has made me very angry". He continued that it was an insult to white males and that he was going to take another look at Obama. He's a die heart republican.
Something might be happening that we're not aware of - if this is happening in one lttle office in a very red area - who knows.
Just had to share.....
Judging by all the empty seats, they didn't really need to hold this convention in a big venue. They could have gotten one of the back rooms at the save-way value-mart.
Hey, were are Silly Sally and Dufuss Dan. Our pet Stupid Republican trolls must be out cleaning toilets at the Repug convention.
(A dirty job since we all know repuglickins are full it)
The Huckster sounds like hes campaining for himself, instead of for McNuts.
Posted by PamB on September 3, 2008 at 09:16 PM I hope there are Crows in MN, because there is one troll there who will be salting and swallowing it, on November 4th
He's irrelavant. And he won't change - when all is said done he'll be exactly who is now - and he'll still come around to muck up the place.
Just had to share.....

Kathy,
being a natural-born hoosier myself, I appreciate the significance of that post. I still have a lot of relatives in Indiana; some of them die-hard republicans. And they are not real happy with McLame or his beauty-queen side-kick.
Thanks Chicago - now I must run...tomorrow guys.
Considering the ads McLame ran regarding the fact that Obama did not choose Hillary as VP, you have to wonder how Huckabee feels after being passed over for Sarah because he doesn't have boobs.
Posted by Kathy_from_Indiana on September 3, 2008 at 09:28 PM Got a story
I've got two daughters in IN, Kathy. One's in school the other runs a small (green) business. IN will be closer race this year than others but the changing democraphics will eventually turn it blue so long as the Democratic Party stays in the sweet spot of American politics that Bill Clinton put us in - if it veers to far left they'll be another shakeup.
Has Sarah invoked the standard republican mantra yet? You know, the one where they say,
"I cannot comment on an on-going investigation". The line they use for all their scandals to keep from having to answer question from the press.
I think I just saw one of the poeple at the RNC convention hold up a sign that said,
"We're for oil"
Well Duh...
Posted by Chicago on September 3, 2008 at 09:49 PM I think I just saw one of the poeple at the RNC convention hold up a sign that said,

The Republican theme of "Country First" would work for me if they had printed the whole theme out "County First - Corporations Second"
The printer messed up the signs. They had to go with what they were given.
I didn't realize the repubican governor of Hawaii was an idiot. She is claiming neither Obama or Biden have "executive experience". Hello? By that definition, neither does McLame! But Sarah was the governor of 600k people. Gosh. That's like one whole precinct in Chicago.
I'm not sure... I may have ended up on the wrong channel. Is CSPAN airing the repuglican convention or a rerun of the twighlight zone?
Oh it is so sad to watch them all try to put a happy face on this convention. The empty seats. Bush not being allowed in. Cheney running and hiding. Everyone being surprised by the up-coming shot-gun wedding. And now Rudy-9/11-Gooliani is speaking. Can this get any worse?
Rudy Giuliani
Newt Gingrich
John Mclame
So much for family values...
Can this get any worse?

Check this out if you have the time, Chicago Reclaiming Conservatism: How a Great American Political Movement Got Lost--And How It Can Find Its Way Back
It's a good read - there's not much in there that I disagree with.
I've been snarky tonight but I don't which care which party governs the nation so long as it's govern properly.
Mick Edwards has some things to say that we all should listen too.
What is really sad, is to listen to Rudi claim Obama cannot lead in a crisis. Well if we kick repuglican out of office, maybe we can stop having to "lead in a crisis".
Rudi just said "If you don't have the facts, you just change them" slip of the repug policy.
Drill baby drill they are cheering. does GOP stand for Got a peabrain?
They should at least put on someone funny, like Red Skelton, Jackie Gleason, Bob Hope, Jack Benny. I know there gone and i miss them. But if they would put on someone funny, it would'nt be so damn boring.
OMG! Look, she has her daughter and her baby daddy there. Just think this guy is like, Holy Crap I'm sitting here at the Republican Presidental Convention and My babies grandmomma might be VP of the US. God life is soo goood and all I had to do was not wear a condom.
This is a f ing joke.

Associated Press Writer
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told ministry students at her former church that the United States sent troops to fight in the Iraq war on a "task that is from God."
In an address last June, the Republican vice presidential candidate also urged ministry students to pray for a plan to build a $30 billion natural gas pipeline in the state, calling it "God's will."
A video of the speech was posted at the Wasilla Assembly of God's Web site before finding its way on to other sites on the Internet
"God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.
"I can do my job there in developing our natural resources and doing things like getting the roads paved and making sure our troopers have their cop cars and their uniforms and their guns, and making sure our public schools are funded," she added. "But really all of that stuff doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's heart isn't right with God."
Rob Boston, a spokesman for Americans United for Separation of Church and State, lamented Palin's comments.
"I miss the days when pastors delivered sermons and politicians delivered political speeches," he said. "The United States is increasingly diverse religiously. The job of a president is to unify all those different people and bring them together around policy goals, not to act as a kind of national pastor and bring people to God."
The section of the church's Web site where videos of past sermons were posted was shut down Wednesday, and a message was posted saying that the site "was never intended to handle the traffic it has received in the last few days."
More.................
Let's all watch Rudi re-write history.
The surge is working.
John McLame was right.
I did not have my mistress living with me while I was still married.
Senator Obama's Resume
Barack Obama has an outstanding resume. Why aren't the Democratic Party and his surrogates telling the country about it at every opportunity?
Sen. Obama received a bachelor's degree in political science with a specialization in international relations from Columbia. He then moved to Chicago and became a community organizer. From June 1985 to May 1988, he served as director of the Developing Communities Project (DCP), a church-based community organization originally comprising eight Catholic parishes on Chicago's far South Side. During Obama's three years as the DCP's director, its annual budget grew from $70,000 to $400,000. Under his guidance, its accomplishments included helping set up a job training program, a college preparatory tutoring program and a tenants' rights organization. He also worked as a consultant and instructor for the Gamaliel Foundation, a community organizing institute.
He entered Harvard Law School in 1988 and was selected to be editor of the prestigious Harvard Law Review at the end of his first year. He later was elected the first black president of the Harvard Law Review and graduated with his Juris Doctor degree magna cum laude in 1991. Those are no mean feats.
Obama passed up the lucrative jobs at major law firms that his accomplishments at Harvard would have made possible to become a practicing civil rights attorney in Chicago and resume his work as a community organizer there. He directed Illinois Project Vote from April to October 1992, a voter registration drive with a staff of 10 and 700 volunteers that achieved its goal of registering 150,000 of 400,000 unregistered African Americans in the state. He was a founding member of the board of directors of Public Allies in 1992, became the founding executive director of Public Allies Chicago in early 1993. He served on the board of directors of the Woods Fund of Chicago from 1993–2002 and served on the board of directors of The Joyce Foundation from 1994–2002. Obama served on the board of directors of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge from 1995–2002, as founding president and chairman of the board of directors from 1995–1999. He also served on the board of directors of the Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, the Center for Neighborhood Technology and the Lugenia Burns Hope Center.
Obama taught constitutional law from 1992 to 2004 at the University of Chicago, as a lecturer for four years and then as senior lecturer for eight years. Consequently, unlike George Bush, John McCain or Sarah Palin, he actually knows what that document says.
In 1996 he was elected to the Illinois Senate, where he served from 1997 to 2004. During his tenure in the Senate, Obama worked to pass legislation reforming ethics and health-care laws, increasing tax credits for low-income workers, enacting welfare reform, promoting increased subsidies for childcare, regulating payday loans, averting home foreclosures caused by predatory mortgage loans and monitoring racial profiling by police.
He won a seat in the U.S. Senate in 2004. While serving in the Senate, he worked on and/or voted for legislation on national security, defense, immigration, foreign aid, energy, ethics and federal elections, among other things.
Democrats seem to think that saying anything about a Democratic candidate's accomplishments is tantamount to bragging. That is incorrect. It is simply putting one's best foot forward. Sen. Obama need not speak about his accomplishments. His surrogates should do it for him so that he can concentrate on the issues.
By virtue of his education, intellect and wide-ranging experience, Barack Obama is head and shoulders above John McCain. There certainly is no comparison between Sen. Obama and a small-time politician like Sarah Palin. The Democratic Party should make sure that the American public knows it.
I hope you are all watching the RNC right now? Why are all of you for Barack Obama what is he going to change?
Rudi is suppose to be the keynote speaker. I guess issues are off the table and personal attacks are the plan of the day.
I hope we are ready to respond strongly!!!!

:)
If you aren't for Iraq, you're not for America.
We are all Georgians.
Palin has more experience than their whole ticket.
Rudy is really pushing the envelope tonight.
Rudy is flatuating rovian one liners so much that the little nrc crowd is going into a fumial intoxicated schizo frenzy. Poor lost souls.
Pam, I read an article that shocked me but now I think Carl Rove Makes This Stuff Up. There was an article that the stuff fed to Daily Kos on Trig really being the daughters baby was made up by Rove. One day it was all scrubed. They say he sets up the pins and then knocks them down himself and then cries fowl.
That is his signature and seems to be his ongoing strategy. The enquirer is supposedly coming out that Palin had an affair, they make a bold stmt. that they vet better than mccain and don't favor either political party. I think it is Rove. Set it up, knock down the story, then cry sexism and media bias. Then the masses think troopergate is not real and hillery supporters that cried sexism will go to McCain. This is the sick corrupt mind of Carl Rove and I'm not bittin any more.
Posted by Johne on September 3, 2008 at 10:22 PM "God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.
If God feels that the pipe line should be built, I suspect that he also feels Sarah should not abdicate leadership on that issue to him.
I just watched some of the republican convention and am horrified with their rhetoric. I heard Mr. Romney say that we must fight the evil of Islam,(oh, we must hate an entire religion) that the liberals caused the country's money problems(I thought that was from 'the war'by Mr.Bush) that the liberals were having our country be "Big Brother"(was that not our current admin.that created the Patriot Act?)that McCain would deal with the "mindnumbing" tax code for us, (since when are we to feeble to deal with the tax code ourselves?)etc etc. I have been screaming at my T.V. all evening, typing on here is my outlet, thank you. I am looking for HOPE and CHANGE and I can deal with my own tax code, thank you.
So I just wanted to let all of you people on this blog know that the next Vice President of the United States of America is on Fox News, CNN (also known as the Communist News Network) and CSPAN right now. Just wanted to let you know that this mother of 5 and soon to be Grandmother of a child who her daughter wishes to conceive is one of the best choices for Vice President by anyone! Also, all of the attacks thrown at her are nothing new to her...as I said the mother of 5 and one which is a child born with down syndrome. I just wanted to let all of you know that you are wasting your time bashing her because it is digging up a bunch of Republicans who would want nothing less than to see Obama(just a celebrity) lose! Which he will you all just wait and see! Well I am excited for this election because no one wants to see a muslim that's right I said it MUSLIM win and take over the United States of America! Well good luck to all of you, you will for sure need it!
God bless Sara Palin
God bless John S. McCain
And last but not least,
GOD BLESS AMERICA
Jennie
How do any people vote republican when they only recycle lies over and over, and apparently they think George W is a democrat because they are blaming all of the worlds problems of the last 8 years on the democrats! What a joke!
Sup034, read my above post, for starters Rove is gone. That would make america better. Secondly Bush and Cheney would be gone. In fact the Elitist McCain will attack Iran and who knows who else so he can start skimming of the no-bid war contracts. Obama will get us out of Iraq, then with the two billion a week we are waisting we can fix our roads and bridges that the republicans have left to rot. Then we will not give American Companies Tax Breaks to leave america in search of cheap commie labor in China. Obama will label the country of origin for our food so we can choose to not be poisened by china. We will have a president who builds up the middle class by investing in new energy here at home and he will create american jobs on american soil and give those companies the tax breaks, didn't you hear his speech, how could you ask such a stupid question.
I bet she don't say that she supports shooting Wolves from air planes, anyone care to wager.
Mr. Rove has known Mr. Abramoff for about two decades, according to White House spokesman Scott McClellan. Both are former top officials of the College Republicans, many of whose alumni have gone on to national prominence within the party. http://online.wsj.com/public/article_print/SB113935546071667719-auNBNLep_LngFIKDTwQ9vhhx3eY_20070208.html
Sup034, keep drinking the kook aide, let me guess you didn't go to college. I can tell by your inability to think. Obama is a genius and we will win. Palin is a gimmick. McCain knew he was going to lose so he tried this gimmick. You were going to vote McCan't anyway, and Hillary supporters will never vote for Palin.
I'm glad your soo excited but it will fade fast, trust me.
Posted by Demo-lition_Derby on September 3, 2008 at 10:25 PM Barack Obama has an outstanding resume. Why aren't the Democratic Party and his surrogates telling the country about it at every opportunity?
There's no need - he's already leading the nation - and everyone knows it (but the media can't say that because they have to appear impartial).
The directive should be "Explain to me what Barack Obama has done on the national stage that you don't want him to do on the world stage."
Rudi is on a roll.
We're the party...
A few things he forgot to mention:
We're the party that lied you into the Iraq war.

Susan Ralston stepped down from her post as a special assistant to President Bush.
A congressional report showed she had extensive contacts with Abramoff and had accepted tickets to sporting events and concerts from him. More than 300 members of the 109th Congress received campaign contributions from a client of Jack Abramoff while he was their lobbyist—81 Senators and 227 members of the House of Representatives, the Center found. On average, each recipient got about $16,000.
President Bush received nearly $50,000 from Abramoff’s clients. Top congressional recipients included a who’s who of the Republican leadership in Congress. Prominent names include House Speaker Dennis Hastert of Illinois ($68,300 in contributions), House Republican Conference Secretary John Doolittle of California ($56,250) and Montana Sen. Conrad Burns ($52,340). Also on the list is former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay of Texas ($44,000), who once employed convicted Abramoff associates Tony Rudy and Michael Scanlon on Capitol Hill. DeLay’s successor, Rep. John Boehner of Ohio, received $30,500.
Unlike Abramoff himself, who along with his wife contributed $225,000 of their personal money to Republicans only, his clients were less partisan in their political contributions. While some gave almost exclusively to one party, on average they gave 73 percent of their money to Republicans and the remainder to Democrats.
ryvkah,
Let me get this straight. Is mitt calling bush a liberal? Everything he blames on the liberals is exactly what bush did to the country. Why isn't he honest and say that the country is in such terrible shape because of his buddy bush and the neocons in congress.
Friends: Abramoff a changed man, deserves leniency By MATT APUZZO, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - It used to be, when Jack Abramoff needed something, he had an address book full of powerful Capitol Hill contacts to call on, people he plied with expensive meals, campaign contributions and golf junkets.
Now that the disgraced lobbyist is asking people to stand by his side while he seeks a reduction in his prison sentence, the list of supporters has changed. The congressmen, Bush administration figures and aides have given way to family members, friends and religious leaders.
Defense attorneys filed 95 letters in court Wednesday night as part of a bid to get Abramoff out of prison early. They describe him as a humbled, changed man whose family is suffering and nearly broke after his first 18 months in prison.
In 2006, Abramoff began serving nearly six years for a fraudulent Florida casino deal. On top of that, he faces about 11 years in prison when he is sentenced on corruption charges next week in Washington.
Prosecutors have asked for leniency because Abramoff became the key witness in his own scandal, helping convict lawmakers and Washington power brokers. The Justice Department asked that the Florida sentence be reduced to less than four years and the Washington sentence be five years and four months, with credit for his time in prison.
That means Abramoff could be eligible for release sometime in 2011. Defense attorney Abbe Lowell is asking for even less time, a request that could make Abramoff eligible for release as early as 2009.
Lowell sought to differentiate Abramoff, who has become a symbol of Washington's lobbying excesses, from other corrupt figures in the news. Without naming them, Lowell describes Rep. William Jefferson, D-La., who is accused of keeping bribe money in his freezer, and Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, who is charged with lying about hundreds of thousands of dollars in home renovations and gifts from a contractor.
Abramoff's crimes stretched or ignored lobbying laws, Lowell said, but were not outright bribery.
In prison, Abramoff has focused on studying Judaism and helping fellow inmates, friends said. He has taught classes entitled "Parenting from a Distance," "Modern Marvels," "Cinema Studies," and "The Holocaust in Films," his attorneys said. He is currently teaching a motion picture theory class.
Abramoff's cooperation helped send former Rep. Bob Ney, R-Ohio, and former Deputy Interior Secretary J. Steven Griles to prison. In court documents, Lowell hinted that others may soon follow, saying Abramoff "assisted with the government's investigation of scores of other persons who have not yet been charged."
Abramoff's sentencing Sept. 4 will be his first court appearance in years. Because nearly everyone in the corruption case has so far pleaded guilty rather than going to trial, Abramoff has not had to take the witness stand and tell his story. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080828/ap_on_go_ot/abramoff_prison;_ylt=AtHSixHBciereq08CCOa7JWyFz4D

Thanks for sharing, sup 034 - and thanks for outing those Cummuniests.
The MSN is now going to tear her, and McNuts to shreds!!!!!!!
The only thing the Palin speech has motivated me to do is...turn off the TV and write a check to Obama's campaign.....!!!
The Republicans have to reach back to "Ronnie" to find something positive to talk about? What happen to the last Republican Governor they elected to the White House???
Same OLD Republican scare tactics. Swiftboating!!...they are taking it to a whole new level now!
YUK!!!
palin's voice is an instrument of torture.
there is a saturday night live character from the early days the voice reminds me of but i can't quite remember....was it the church lady?
If Rudi's so good at it why did they take him off last night's schedule and put him on tonight's schedule, off prime time? Here's a guy so wrapped in repug supporters he didn't make it to his first and only primary, what a great American!
No truth to the rumor that Todd Palin's registration with the Alaskan Independence Party in 1995 and 2000, was only to assist in the secession of Alaska from the United States of America, they just want all federal land stripped from the rest of us and given to Alaskan citizens. Probably an effort to restore hunting and fishing rights for Native Eskimos (yeah, right). When each person in that state gets $2,000 for oil, why not go for the whole enchilada, beats working for a living.
palin's voice is an instrument of torture.

Thats my feeling exactly Gregg, I wonder how long it will be before her soon to be son in law, gives her a fat lip, so he don't have to listen to the torture?

I'm sorry, Jennie - what I should have said was "thank you for being involved" - no snark in that. Please accept my apologies.
What did Palin threaten to do, sue McCain if she wasn't nominated.... As much as I disagree with him, I never believed he was this crazy. Even living in the deep south of the Bible Belt, I will scream from the highest Pine Tree elect Obama!!! Not popular but too afraid of the evil I am witnessing tonight! I have never felt stronger about rallying against these types of values and evil spinning.
Posted by dorsano on September 3, 2008 at 10:46 PM
Can't resist, can ya? :)
Good evening, all.
Palin's got this school marm vibe thing going on tonight. She's lecturing. She's coming across as the Christian Right matron not the Washington Outsider maverick.
Who media trained her? All the charm is gone.
They are trying to make her into the Iron Maiden. It's not working. And it's really a shame. I know a lot of people were hoping that she was something different.
My husband just turned the tennis match back on. He said he could get that kind of treatment from his supervisor at work.
And what happened to the 10-minute film showing us who she is and where she came from? They didn't have time to get it vetted either? McCain put off his decision to the last minute and it's blowing up in this woman's face?
Talk about judgment. This is criminal.
To take a rookie and not even give her the basic support media tools that she needed to make a good first impression. Nobody should put someone out there and expect them to carry the day without the usual respect you give to the second in line.
Criminal.
This is no way to treat any running mate. And it certainly isn't any way to treat their Party's first woman veep candidate in her first time on the national stage.
I'm going to wait until tomorrow and watch this speech without all the men in my household dismissing her within the first two minutes and walking away.
She deserves that much.
John McCain just went down even lower in my estimation. He has no judgment and no class. How could he have done this to any running mate...maybe if he had gotten to know her first?
Good night, all.
the blantant lies, untruths and vitriolic attacks upon decent caring people we're hearing from the repugnicants can mean only that they are desperate. like caged and wounded animals they instinctively lash out in viscious defensiveness. someone said earlier today that they felt sorry for the poor creatures. i say the only truely humane action for us to take is to alleviate their suffering as quickly and painlessly as possible...the silver bullet of truth administered between the eyes should do the trick...truth to power.
Peace
btw...giuliani's comment about not mentioning the word's 'islamic terrorists' for the four days of the democratic convention because someone might be offended was completely and utterly uncalled for...and he knew he had stepped into a big pile of shit after he said it.
So many lies and so little time to dispel them. I hope the Obama Campaign and the Democratic Party are going to go out tomorrow and aggressively tell the truth about all these lies. We need an instantaneous truth squad.
I'm so damn sick of hearing about McNuts torture, there was 600 other Pow's there to.
when are archie and jughead gonna carry veronica off the stage and down to mr. weatherbee's office for a paddling?
John McCain. What an honorable man! It is so inspiring to think of how honorably he treated his wife who waited five years for him when he was imprisoned, only to be thrown over for Cindy the home wrecker.
Quick question...
Since hte GOP is now touting Palins' ''executive experience'' and hammering that Obama has none...doesn't that mean she would also be more qualified than McCain?? What executive decisions has McCain (graduate near the bottom of my Annapolis class...crash 5 jets) made??
It was a good speech,to a half sold out crowd, if your a republican. Too bad she didn't write it, Obama writes his own speeches.

I need to see your ugly face every once in awhile to confirm that I'm not the ugliest person in the world.
So is it true that pat boon will sing tonight also? I can hardly wait!
this is the kind of high school ass kisser everyone hates...and this time they will enjoy voting against her.
Gee, I didn't hear her say anything about real issues yet.
I guess they have no answers so she stuck to personal attacks on Obama and his wife.
BIDEN, TAKE THE GLOVES OFF AND SEND HER BACK TO ALASKA CRYING!!!
I wonder which parts of that speech Carl "Turd Blossom*" Rove dreamed up and which parts the Barracuda wrote. The ratio is probably 80/20.
*I didn't make that up. It's George's term of endearment for his old sidekick.
McCain on Palin: 'Don’t you think we made the right choice?
No I don't Senator - I think you are irresponsible and reckless - and desperate - and willing to gamble away the security of our country in exchange for a bed in White House.
Democratic candidates are so careful not to say anything politically incorrect. The Dems bent over backward at their convention not to insult McClain or any Republicans. What happens? Barack Obama and the Democratic Party get smacked down. I say stop tiptoeing around and go after them!!!
did she mention the economy and what she and mcdog will do about it...other than drill?
Posted by Demo-lition_Derby on September 3, 2008 at 11:29 PM I say stop tiptoeing around and go after them!!!
No need Demo - the differences are plain for everyone to see - I say let's just move forward - that's where everyone wants to go.
I keep thinking Democrats are going to learn from always holding their convention first and begin to alternate with the Republicans. Why do we always make nice during our convention and let them have the benefit of hearing what our side has to say and then let them slam us and have the last word on every argument? How do you put the lie to four days of non-stop prevarication after your turn is already over? Are the tables ever going to be turned?
hey dems. are we witnessing the implosion of a party on live television, is that possible?
greg- i'm leaning toward that character that gilda radner used to play on the news. i'll have to admit that i couldn't listen to more than a couple of 10 second snippets- to listen any longer than that is a risky venture when dealing with someone like her. anyway, i'm going with that woman that radner played- you know, "never mind...." someone said that when fascism comes to america it will be with a smiling face, and i think one of them has actually arrived on the stage tonight
What does it mean that the Republicans can't even fill a convention hall this election cycle? Oh, yeah! Now I remember. Their brand is broken. One more gift from the Bush administration. They have to run a woman as VP who thinks her few years as mayor of a town with fewer residents than we have students in our county schools and her few months as governor in a state with over 200,000 fewer residents than reside in city I live in qualifies her to make foreign policy decisions. Scary.
Everybody's asking, "Why Palin?" I have a theory: nobody else would touch it. Not just anybody is willing to board a sinking ship. You've gotta have...blinders. You know, those things the NeoCons were wearing when they dragged us into an illegal, immoral and ill-managed war against Iraq. Now they want us to authorize another term for their insane world view? Our memories are not that short.
Posted by queencityjefro on September 3, 2008 at 11:45 PM hey dems. are we witnessing the implosion of a party on live television, is that possible?
Hey, Jeff - Democrats raised the bar for what's expected of a national convention - it seems reasonable to assume that they might do the same for what's expected of government - I'm OK with that.
Every white male in america just saw their wife having PMS. What a witch, what a turn off. Not only will not get hillary voters, she won't bring independants, and she just turned off millions of males.
Posted by dorsano on September 3, 2008 at 11:28 PM
Considering the way McCain has misnmanaged his campaign so far, who could honestly see him as presidental material? It's surreal.
We must be careful. They want us to go after Palin. That would give her credibility. She has none. Go after McLame's age and remind everyone that he is soon to be an alzheimers patient. Remind them that he graduated fifth from last in his class. Do not let them change the debate to this little idiotic attack dog who cannot even manage her own family. She is trailer trash. IGNORE HER.
The five people watching this convention will make no differnce tomorrow.
Letterman:
"Palin looks like a model for lens crafters."
"cheney wasn't there because he scheduled a heart attack."
During her speech it became so quiet that you could hear larry craig's toilet flush.
Posted by tylinCA on September 3, 2008 at 11:48 PM Everybody's asking, "Why Palin?"
Sally told us yesterday - McCain's desperate - he needs to energize his evangelical base and get them to the polls (and get the contributions).
If he dies in office and leaves her to negotiate with Russia - it won't be his problem.
Yea, yea - some people will call my comment sexist - I'm more than willing to let the rest of America render their verdict.
Those beliefs that are popular with the American people couldn't even fill a convention hall. Let's get real. Some of us have been slow to learn, but when gas hit $3.00 a gallon and food prices rose 7%, even the hard-headed had to admit the Republicans lack substance. But I do know one thing: if we give them another four years, they can finish off our democracy and sell us to the highest bidder.
Regarding Palin, never has the arrogance of the republican party been so unfounded.
The last time the republican party could not choose a VP, they ended up with Cheney. Looks like they did not learn from their mistake.
I'm new to this blog but after watching the RNC just have to chat with like-minded, sensible Dems. I don't understand how they really think they can talk out of both sides of their mouths (one just about everything) but esp. the gender card. People in the audience were actually wearing buttons that referred to her as the "Hot Chick" and the "hottest VP." Are you kidding me?? I wonder why she didn't tout the Reps. abstinence-only bullsh*t. And, why, if her daughter is 17 and the "fiance" is 18 - why isn't he facing statutory rape charges?
Does she think that mocking community organizing makes her look remotely intelligent and in touch with the working class.
Also, I seemed to miss the part of her speech where she talked about climate change, foreign policy, and healthcare reform. Can someone fill me in on what she had to say about that?
At least she wasn't sporting that over-the top, out dated, too young for her, up-do. (ok that was catty).
Thanks for letting me vent. Obama signs going up TOMORROW!!!!
Chicago you are right. McCain already lost to Obama, now they are trying to run Palin against Obama. Obama, being the genius that he is will address her lies and keep on the tack that McCain is four more years of Bush. Good God, what if McCain died and this unknown was president. There is no telling what would happen to this country.
I'll tell you something else, because you people don't crap about your own candidates, politics aside, Joe Biden will like and respect her.

Sally and her soulmate will - because you remind them of Jane Fonda.
This Gov. of Alaska has been around for a week, the american people have seen barack for 2 years under pressure. There is no way any reasonable person will vote for this ticket with mccains health and age and her being a complete unknown.
So does anyone believe the five people that watched this convention will give the Repuglicans a bounce?
Any early predictions "for the record"?
wowonk- she just doesn't like the old-fashioned community organizing that takes actual sweat and tears. she prefers hers done by paid lobbyists who work for jack abramhoff- you know, like the kind that got the little town of wasilla over 27 million dollars of federal tax revenue (otherwise known as earmarks)- she's a big fat hypocrite and that means she's simply splendid for representing the grand old pigs at the trough
CNN is trying to say Harry Reid's statement that Palin was shrill is sexist. McCain and Newt said that palin was McCain's soulmate, would they say soulmate if they were talking about Mit.
This was sent to me by one of our Democratic leaders before the 2006 election, but I think it applies well to this moment as well. Barack & Joe 2008* --- First, we must restore our country's moral leadership in the world, especially as it pertains to the war in Iraq. It's no secret that America's credibility and influence have been hobbled by George Bush's actions during the past six years. In too many places around the globe, the idea of American leadership seems like a contradiction. The Bush administration has turned a blind eye, and has done nothing to change its failed policy in Iraq. A Democratic Senate will stand up to this administration and hold it accountable for its mistakes and failed priorities.
Second, under George Bush's callous leadership, our government has done nothing to address the growing gap between rich and poor - the most dangerous threat to our national character as a land of opportunity. Thirty-seven million of our own people are living in poverty and despair - George Bush's response is bloated deals for government contractors in Iraq and giveaways to the oil and gas industry. Just last week, the Republicans in the Senate blocked Senator Kennedy's attempt to raise the minimum wage - which has not been increased in almost ten years. This is not simply wrong. It is downright mean-spirited.
We all pay a price when the American Dream no longer seems American. The Republicans in Washington, D.C. have left a trail of wreckage at home and abroad. The best way to stop them is to elect a Democratic Senate in November.
Honest Leadership & Open Government -- We will end the Republican culture of corruption and restore a government as good as the people it serves.
Real Security -- We will protect Americans at home and lead the world by telling the truth to our troops, our citizens and our allies.
Energy Independence -- We will create a cleaner and stronger America by reducing our dependence on foreign oil.
Economic Prosperity & Educational Excellence -- We will create jobs that will stay in America by restoring opportunity and driving innovation.
A Healthcare System that Works for Everyone -- We will join 36 other industrialized nations by making sure everyone has access to affordable health care.
Retirement Security -- We will ensure that a retirement with dignity is the right and expectation of every single American.
her idea of community organizing appears to be making sure that her friends and family are well taken care of and anyone who crosses her or them are summarily dismissed by the abuse of her public office. seems to me that sums up her community organizing experience. lying to cover it all up is just what she does when she's doing all that community organizing
Chicago, it depends how quick and how effectively Obama shoots down and cuts down her lies and ideas. They made a good statement that is getting out there by the pundants, the bridge to nowhere lie and attacked her on the community organizing. They need to hit harder like queencity did. I'll give them 3 point bounce.
Can you say "trooper gate".
This little yorkshire terrier is going to need to prove she can do a lot more than spew hate at Obama. Of course the idiot republican trolls loved her speech. But those are the fools that don't care about the facts. It will be interesting to see their reaction to this attack ad by someone unvetted and with zero votes from the people.
How many votes have been logged for Obama? How many millions?
Oh, Robert, Robert, Robert, always shoot at me first, before your brain is loaded.
Posted by Dan_A_Cactus** on September 4, 2008 at 12:19 AM
Dufuss Dan,
First, my name is not Robert.
Second, what do you know about brains? You obviously don't own one.
I keep wondering when Democrats are going to stop letting Republicans always hold their convention after ours. Time after time, we pick our V.P. first. Then we hold our convention, treating their candidate with respect and letting them hear all of our arguments. Then they pick their V.P. with the benefit of knowing everything about our candidates. Finally, they have their convention and slam and attack our candidates without mercy with the benefit of already having heard everything we had to say.
How do you respond to four nights of non-stop prevarication when your turn is already over? You need a week of your own just to correct all the lies. But you do not have that after the conventions are over.
If Republicans knew that the worm would turn the next time and that Democrats would have the chance to hear all of the vile, vituperative lies of the Republicans first and then counter each and every one of them with the truth and counter-punch them even harder, they would not be able to attack with impunity and would think twice before taking gratuitously nasty shots at our candidates.
When are we going to learn? Have we been taking stupid pills? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me over and over and over, shame on me! Come on, DNC. Help your candidates out by demanding that the Republicans go first next time.
Community organizers volunteer their time to help their communitee, therefor costing the govt. nothing. It was community volunteer's that helped build homes for the homeless victums of Katrina. It is community organizers that are the PTA in our schools for which she got her start and now insults.
I actually landscaped my childs whole school because there was no budget for it. That's what community organizers do and you would think she would value that considering she uses it on her resume.
When are we going to learn? Have we been taking stupid pills? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me over and over and over, shame on me! Come on, DNC. Help your candidates out by demanding that the Republicans go first next time.

Demo,
Let's wait and see. An attack speech by a inexperienced little fool like Palin may well backfire. Did she articulate leadership for this country? Did she provide information for the electorate that would convince them to support her based on her leaderhsip abiliity? Or did she simply provide more of the same from the repuglican party. Remember, what they want to do most is demonstrate how they will bring change. What she did tonight reinforces the point that a Palin/McLame ticket will be more of the same. The LAST thing Americans want is FOUR MORE YEARS of GEORGE W BUSH.
Demo, yeah they don't have to use a week to fix our lies, because everything we said is the truth.
Consider this. How was the speech given by Palin tonight different from a speech that could have been provided by Ann Coulter? Is Ann what this country is looking for to lead us? Dick Cheney may be proud of Sarah, but who else is?
not a fan of harry reid so i could give a rat's behind about that.
Dan-the-dufuss,
Here is one way that you can always know it is me.

Why, thank you, dors! No higher praise...
chicago- that's just it. she was speaking to what is left of the popular base of her party- a group of people who thrive on this divisiveness- it matters little to them whether she's a hypocrite when she claims that she's against big government but managed to weasel 27 million for her little town in alaska, whether she claims she was always against that bridge when in fact she supported and beat her breasts for it, whether she has used her public office to punish those she doesn't like or who don't think like her. that kind of "community organizing" is what the gop has to sell and hypocrisy is the operative word.
i think it has worn thin with the majority of the nation, but they've got nothing else to go on
I'd sure like to hear Hillary comment's on the Palin Pony Show.
well boys and girls, it is past my bedtime. I have to work early in the morning.
The repuglican convention was fun to watch. It reinforced all that I suspected about the repuglican party. They deserve Ann Coulter and Rush Limpballs. And the American public is on to their lies and political attacks. The America public is voting for change in this election. And as long as the repuglicans demonstrate that they are going to continue "business as usual", then they will lose.
she's a big fat hypocrite and that means she's simply splendid for representing the grand old pigs at the trough
Posted by queencityjefro on September 4, 2008 at 12:16 AM
and as i recall, limpballs said she's the new 'babe' of the rethuglicans...wasn't 'babe' a pig, too? oh, sorry, the movie pig 'babe' was sensitive and caring; something mclame's new oinker would know little about.
Peace
you see "community organizers" like her everywhere anymore- they're the divisive ones, pushing their religious beliefs down some school board's throat, or continually making it impossible for communities big and small to get enough money to pay for the local fire department or mrdd board. you know the type, we see them in the papers, and many americans have finally started waking up to their games
Chicago,
I get what you are saying. Rational, highly educated people can see through all of the Republican vitriol and sarcasm. However, there is a large element of the American public who respond favorably to the kinds of rants and bluster that seem to be all the Republicans can muster (look at me--I'm a poet and don't know it). We need to train some attack dogs of our own and sick 'em on McCain and Palin.
Another desperate Hail Mary Pass by the republicans. At first they got her to get Hillary's voters, but that backfired. So it's time for another Hail Mary Pass, attack Obama with lies and sarcasim. This my friends is the organization of the republican party. And you wonder why they have run the country in a ditch.
By next week a Big Truck named BACKLASH, is going to run over and flatten Obama and the leftys because of the smear campaign they have run this week.

Posted by Demo-lition_Derby on September 4, 2008 at 12:27 AMI keep wondering when Democrats are going to stop letting Republicans always hold their convention after ours.
I'm not going to bother research what Democrats did did in the past - but I think that Democrats did a bang up job this time around of scheduling their convention.
Time after time, we pick our V.P. first. Then we hold our convention, treating their candidate with respect and letting them hear all of our arguments.
Yep
Then they pick their V.P. with the benefit of knowing everything about our candidates. Finally, they have their convention and slam and attack our candidates without mercy with the benefit of already having heard everything we had to say.
No - the current GOP picks their candidate based on which group of people they wish to pander to - and while they may try to slam - they look like a bunch of old geezers wearing speedos.
How do you respond to four nights of non-stop prevarication when your turn is already over?
In this case it doesn't matter because most of America wasn't listening - It will matter sometime down the road - but it doesn't matter today. That's the legacy of our current President.

So yes, I agree with you. Your posts are worth saving. Thank you for helping me make my case on stupid republican trolls.
So I watched the Palin speach, the whole time all I could think of was my ex-wife. She used to give me those zingers all the time. That's why I divorced her. As for the lies, wait, it only gets worse. George showed them how to do it and get away with it. They lie so much of the time, they just can't help it anymore.

johnny- save your energy- these dopey trolls that come here don't have time to fact check the garbage they listen to and read on a daily basis. the party they support highly discourages that sort of thing
America1st - they have already ruined their tack of calling the dems sexist. I think Rove knew that also based on the soulmate statement. He just tossed the last ball in the game. If she is the average PTA and soccer mom, I'm not volunteering anymore. Yikes
John McCain wanted a Secretary of Defense who's a fighter. That's why he chose Chastity Screed to head the Pentagon. It's a gutsy choice given the fact she's never served in the military, but she brings something far more more important than experience, evangelical approval. Mrs. Screed became the Heartland's Hero when she successfully lead an assault against Spencer's Gifts down at the mall. It wasn't easy. Many laughed at her when she tried to describe why she had targeted that particular shop. "They sell little knitted sock things to keep a man's little baby-maker warm," she declared, "and they don't even use starch!" But Screed persevered, eventually mobilizing dozens of others to assist her in her cause. Now, thanks to her efforts, Spencer's Gifts requires its customers to duck under the hand of a Jesus cut-out figure emblazoned with the words "You must be this tall to buy adult novelty items" before allowing them to shop in the adult section. John McCain has no doubts she'll do the same for Iraq, Afghanistan, Russia, and Iran. (comic relief courtesy of "the general")
Maybe I'm getting a little too suspicious of politicians and political legalese. Maybe I've just been jaded by the Bush years and the repetive scandal.. cover-up.. scandal.. cover-up see-saw. Or maybe I like to stick to the wisdom of old adages like "where there's smoke there's fire"
But when I hear carefully structured sentences that infer something but are carefully crafted to leave something open and vague.. I get a little suspicious over this type of political legalese.
Now I've heard the rumors about Palin's youngest son possible being the son of her eldest daughter, and that the Sarah made up her own pregnancy to cover this up.
Now I've read a lot about this stuff, and unsure what's been confirmed and what hasn't.. But it all seems a little suspicious... Doesn't seem right.. Doesn't match the smell test. Seems like a bunch of smoke so to speak.
Now I found the introduction of her family by Palin to be kind of awkward. I obviously could be reading into this too much, but heck it's politics, "hear them now; believe em later after you confirm all the facts"
Anywho,, as I rember the introduction was something like. "My son.. my three daughters and our latest little guy (in reference to the baby who all the speculation is swirling about). Then she later refers to them as her 5 kids. But the sentence seemed carefully crafted to infer the Trig (I believe) was her son, but then again at the same time provided no definative answer.
Now I'm not saying anything about this woman, but I want a resolution one way or another to these rumors, and this type of political legalese only flames my suspicions.
We've all been thru too much with this BS with George Bush and Dick Cheney and thier constant contempt for the law and honesty, and I'm damn well not ready to go thru this BS with another president and VP.
So in all fairness I think Sara Polin should provide all necessary information to dispell these rumors.. Release of medical documents, blood testing, WHATEVER!
But the voters deserve a full disclosure on this matter. And don't hide behind this "Who is me, the left wing media is attacking me and my family and prying into my personal life.." BS
I as a voter want to make damn sure that we're not voting for someone who will lie to me with a strait face.
Good night all. It's been real. Barack & Joe in November 2008*

I understand that Carl Rove is on McCain's team. His paw prints are all over Palin's speech. Democratic operatives should be bringing this up again and again because the vast majority of Americans detest Rove. Democrats should not allow him to lurk in the shadows and take shot after shot at them. Americans need to know the source of all this bile.
Brother, DailyKos had a first time blogger send in that rumor you speak of with pictures claiming she was in her 7 mo and she was skinny. One day that was scrubbed from DailyKo's just as fast as it came. Some think it was planted by rove to get people talking, so they could break the story her daughter is pregnant. The point would be to get people speculating and then make them look stupid, so when the real story comes out it doesn't look as bad and it looks like people are picking on her because she is a woman and hopefully people won't believe the real charges against her, and their are many. Troopergate is one. That is signature Carl Rove - sometimes called Bushes Brain, former White House Chief of Staff for Bush currently working on the McCain Campaign.

I understand - sweet dreams - glad you were today to share you vision of America with us.
Palin's speech has Carl Rove's paw prints all over it. Rove has been on McCain's staff for some time now. The majority of Americans hate Rove. If Rove did, in fact, have an important role in ghost-writing this diatribe, it is important for the electorate to know that Bush's troll is responsible.
In a replay of the end of the Palin speech, I just saw McCain waive and raise his right hand level with or just above the top of his head. I thought they said he couldn't do that. Hmmm.
To be good conservitives you have to remain stupid and uninformed.

We're the party...
A few things he forgot to mention:
We're the party that lied you into the Iraq war.
We're the party that gave the tax cuts to the top 1% that has led to record deficits.
We're the party that brought you Karl Rove and Dick Cheney.
We're the party that brought you "brownie" and Rumsfeld.
We're the party that sent your jobs over seas.
We're the party that let contracts to Blackwater and Haliburtin.
We're the party that approved torture.
We're the party that brought you Richard Nixon
We're the party of Tom Delay
We're the party of Scooter Libby.
We're the party of Olive North.
We're the pary of Jack Abramoff.

Yep, also, rudi ghouliani forgot to mention further after that wisecrack that this is the great party that blacklisted half of Hollywood a few decades ago and would easily point fingers at Cher, U2, Madonna and most likely, Chuck Berry singin "go go go Johnny go" at the Whiskey a go go.
One thing you repugs are good at, persecuting people. But lookey, what we see is just a bopping bunch of shouting fat memees echoing back at themselves inside a mirrored dome while the circle is closing in one more polluted river at a time...until there be a silent spring...but oh, you just gotta take everything.

Watch the rerun of the Daily Show...it really hit a home run last night with video of their hypocrisy...and when Jon Stewart grills Newt on the GOP's golden girl.
We need an instantaneous truth squad.Posted by Demo-lition_Derby on September 3, 2008 at 11:06 PM
Yes - we sure do after the lies that came out of thr repukes mouths last night - more to follow tonight I;m sure.
But that's all they have - they have NOTHING to run on. That's why she didnGO GET HER JOE!'t say anything important last night. No issues other then trashing us.
Well, I hope Biden got an ear full last night. I hope he comes out swinging. The hell with them painting us as sexiest - she's a damn candidate just like everyone else -
GO GET HER JOE!
Message to Obama:
Some people can't be dismissed. Some people have to be shut up. Four years ago we had a ticket that didn't know how to fight for an election. If you don't fight for this, you will be sitting at home in November wondering what happened and all of us that support you will be doing the same thing. The Republicans are going to keep coming after you hard and strong. The soccer mom will keep barking at your heel with her lipsticked smile. Fight for us.
Hilarious Stuff...you guys are totally debunking the myth that "ignorance is bliss." From the look of these posts ignorance just makes you really, really angry. I have sadly watched for years as you successfully turned the party of John F. Kennedy into the Party of Joeseph Stalin...maybe Kruschev was right...they might just bury us under the weight of liberal stupidity.
The bitch didn't say anything of substance last night because they have nothing to offer except one-line rovian clips. asshole raygun did the same thing. They think it is cute. Then the bitch is saying Obama has no experience commanding troops. Excuse me, mcasshole doesn't either. His only claim to fame is crashing airplanes. I can't stand it anymore.
Our candidates need to fight back like a junk yard dog and bury these lying bastards.
With mcgeezer and the bitch, we would have four more years of WAR, no jobs, no health care, no social security, no decent salaries, and no homes.
Then we have president asshole giving one billion dollars to georgia. Doesn't congress have to approve this funding? This bastard is too cheap to repair our infrastructure, too damn cheap to give us health care, too damn cheap to give us social security, too damn cheap to give us decent wagesn but he gives our money away to his criminal friends so he can attack our allies.
Someone stop these war criminals.
All I can say is that the people that support these war criminals are a bunch of dumb fucks who couldn't tie their shoelaces last week.
Palin gave a very good speech last night. She did exactly what Karl Rove trained her to do. Unfortunately, she "misspoke" on any number of issues: "I told the Federal government no to the Bridge To No Where", etc,
It will be interesting to see how she handels the news media when they start asking her hard questions. Sooner or later she will have to face the news media AND SHE WILL HAVE TO FACE BARACK OBAMA! It will be interesting to see if she can take it as well as diss it out. It's real easy to act tough in a controlled setting, lets see what see can do out in open combat. Bill Clinton said it well, "Politics is a contact sport." You can put lipstick on a pit bull, but not all pit bulls have any fight in them. We'll find out soon enough if Sarah Palin is as tough as she wants us all to believe. You made your bed Sarah, now you have to sleep in it!
1. Obama doesnt write his own speeches...FFS research things before you write them. You're on a blog...google is only a click away.
2. It is much fairer to say Hillary is no Sarah than to suggest Sarah sits in Hillary's shadow. Sarah can do what Hillary can't...she can be tough and feminine. MarieDNC you crackpot...Hot babe and Hillary only belong in the same sentence if you are reffering to Hillary Duff...Just ask Bill.
3. Everyone one of you intellectual giants accuses Palin of personally attacking Obama...she attacked his record on the issues...check that..she attacked his complete lack of a record on any issue. She made no comment like some of the things you supposed caring liberal wonks put in your posts.
4. Community Organizer? Look no one suggests it isnt a kind thing to be...but to suggest their is any responsibility or accountability in it is ludicrous. Answering to no one, working on what you want, when you want, and if you want is not a job.
5. Obama ruined his campaign with the selection of Joe Biden...you all know it, you're just too damned upset to admit it. You can't pretend to be Mr. Smith going to Washington if you need to Ride Biden's 29 years of experience to get there. Change? Change what? They are more likely to change the name of our country to the Islamic States of Obama than to affect any real issue facing our time.
6. You people are still quoting Dan Quayle's wife..times changed and even the conservative right wing of the party of Lincoln caught up and you missed it...
7. OMFG please complain about all the scandals we had to deal with under George Bush...lets gloss over the Clinton administration...and his impeachment.
7. The reason you will not win, and the reason an incredibly unpopular and out of touch George Bush beat you last time around, is that your platform only appeals to those who lack or despise responsibilty...every major issue you champion is something that takes responsibility away from the individual: Welfare,Social Security, Abortion, and Health Care. You dont want to be held responsible for your mistakes, while disallowing anyone to be rewarded for outperforming you and that is why you lose the values debate. It's not because we think we're better than you...it's becuase YOU think we're better than you.
Bad news for you and Obama Goodfoe...the Replubican incubent she DESTROYED in debates to take the governor's seat had 29 years of Senate experience...and oh yeah...she wont be debating Obama...in case you havent read the actual news...I know it's hard to believe but he is actually on TOP of the ticket....taking down the 29 year senatorial incubent Joe Biden will be just another day at the office for her
Morning JohnBoy,
We need to ship all these assholes to alaska and isolate them. Let them secede and pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Selfish POS.
By virtue of his education, intellect and wide-ranging experience, Barack Obama is head and shoulders above John McCain. There certainly is no comparison between Sen. Obama and a small-time politician like Sarah Palin. The Democratic Party should make sure that the American public knows it.
Posted by Demo-lition_Derby on September 3, 2008 at 10:25 PM
Now, Now, Demo, be fair. John McCain finished bottom of his class , and Missy Palin has a BS in Journalism! Now we can't discount accomplishments like that!!! hahaha
Colmes, as week and meager as he is, was really pissing off rove before palins speech. He kept bringing up that she was for the Bridge to Nowhere and only when it was obvious it wouldnt be funded by you and me then she gave up on it. Rove got so mad he said, your embarassing yourself now to colmes. But Colmes kept at it, Hannity says, don't listen to him talk to me.
Top 3 passed over slogans for Obama's Campaign
1. Kill babies not terrorists
2. Obama for Czar
3. No, yes, maybe, present, wait..you misquoted me...ah fuck it just go with whatever John said.
The difference between a mayor of 6000 and a community organizer is the mayor gets paid by the taxpayer, the organizer works for the common good for free. Really all the mayor is is a complaint manager. My yard floods now that the train tracks were repaired, we need a stop sign, do they even have one stop light in the town, I bet they don't.
Top 3 passed over slogans for McCains Campaign
1. 14 year olds that have been raped by their father give birth to their brother
2. Every soccer mom for president
3. Real parents have no clue what their kids are doing
I find it an interesting twist of logic that liberals have managed to demonize Pro-Life males...as if our goal were to lord over the woman's body and not to protect the sactity of life, or be responsible for our actions...I find it interesting because soooo many men are pro-choice and yet they are not demonized for wanting to be able to sex her up and then hit the streets knowing she can get an abortion.
this palin is a very unlikable character. the kind of kid that would tell the teacher your history book was improperly covered...americans will grow to hate her in a matter of days if they don't already...the whining voice and dragging the deranged family around will wear thin in no time. the lies about her record, the petty bullshit she is involved in up in alaska and so on will not go away. she is no threat what so ever. mcbush has done us a great favor.
I find it soo interesting that the pro life crowd would not agree to have their taxes raised to pay for pre natal and post natal care for infants born to women who are poor and that most every pro lifer has never adopted any of the millions of children living in foster homes.
Keep your head in the sand Newsjunkie...as of last night the election is lost...but you keep sitting here and deriding people who have actually accomplished something, because you are evidently both successful enough to look down on her, and yet unhappy enough to be soooo fucking angry. I'll be back four years from now to watch you whine as Palin destroys your next candidate too.
P.S. I love the use of term White Trash by the "champions of the working class" I guess once you get used to the smell of your own shit...it doesnt bother you anymore.
I actually saw two or maybe three black faces in that assembly last night. Most of the crowd seemed to be McCain contemporaries (wrinkled old white-haired dudes). I see many black Republican strategists on CNN, FOX, and MSNBC so why is there not more representation among their constituents?
She may not be debating Obama directly (I wanted to see who would sucker and bite on that one) but she will have to answer to the American people for her cheap shots at Obama. What goes around comes around.
SHE IS A MAGNIFICENT PLATFORM SPEAKER, BUT SHE IS GOING TO HAVE HARD QUESTIONS TO ANSWER AND IF OBAMA CAN'T GET AT HER DIRECTLY, HIS SURROGATES WILL. IT IS FUNNY HOW QUICKLY THESE STORIES FROM THE DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND REACH THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA. Politics is a CONTACT sport!
Palin wants to play tough? Back at ya!
Palin took the gloves off and declared war on Obama. She's about to learn that it's foolhardy and dangerous to go to a gunfight armed with a water pistol!
I do not find it interesting that you advocate the tax payer paying for the individuals lack of responsibility (see previous rant)
who pays for your healthcare the goverment or the republican party PalinPwns
Fight for us. Posted by kp on September 4, 2008 at 07:51 AM
You brought a tear to my eye this morning. The queen from Alaska was pretty good last night, a surprise to some I'm sure. But all she did was slam Obama and us. Nothing that she said will make the Hillary supporters vote for her.
We need to keep stressing that the republicans are now in control of that lady. They have caved in to the religious right and their world views as it should be.
If you get a chance, please read and post the republican platform.
It is very and I stress VERY anti-women. I can not believe that any good American would follow what they believe in. Their platform is very un-American.
Good morning JohnE, sorry I did not respond to you sooner, I was having too much fun! I hope all is well with you and ALL your scattered family...John Boy.....
PalinPwns why dont you pull head out your ass obama will winn so go home
Frances maybe you should ask Lynn Swann, who was there...not being black i cannot really speak for them...but maybe it is the fact that the democratic party has done such a great job patronizing them for so long..they dont know they have a choice.
GoodfoeI really think you are oversetimating your guy...and underestimating my gal.
Gregg you are seriously out of touch...even the female reporters on the communist news network were practically swooning over her...it was Campbell Brown pointing out Harry Reid's use of Shrill. I cannot fathom that any father wouldnt be as proud of his daughter listing Palin as a role model than he would his son listing Obama. You cry when foul when they attack your issues and reply with name calling...very impressive, I'm sure JFK is very proud.
A Wasillan On Sarah Palin
http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2008/09/an-wasillan-on.html
Her experience is as mayor of a city with a population of about 5,000 (at the time), and less than 2 years as governor of a state with about 670,000 residents. During her mayoral administration most of the actual work of running this small city was turned over to an administrator. She had been pushed to hire this administrator by party power-brokers after she had gotten herself into some trouble over precipitous firings which had given rise to a recall campaign. Sarah campaigned in Wasilla as a “fiscal conservative”. During her 6 years as Mayor, she increased general government expenditures by over 33%. During those same 6 years the amount of taxes collected by the City increased by 38%.
Obama needs to come out swinging. Four years ago, for most of us, we painfully sat and watched as Bush carved Kerry a new asshole every time he spoke.
It's time for Obama and Biden to take the gloves off and come out full blast! If we are going to win this thing - it's all or nothing.
If Biden and Obama go with caution, then I and many others are wasting our time. We might as well pack up and say have at it republicans for another four years.
Oh, yeah pwns, god forbid you open that greasy little wallet of your's for anything outside of your cigarettes and six pack of Bud each week!
Lack of Responsibility??? Where was Missy Palin when her teen daughter was spreading out in the back seat of an automobile??? Now that should have called for a little responsibility! WHERE was she 3 days after the birth of her special needs baby, a baby that nursing would be a necessity for, while she sauntered back off to work? Come on, grow up, open those beady greedy little racist eyes, and get a life!
DEMOCRATS, Now is the time to write to your local paper. The Democratic site has a place where you can click for Letter to Editors but you all know the major newspapers in your area, google and find Contact section! IF EVER there was a time to point out the LIES and distortions of Palin, it is now. That Bridge to Nowhere lie of her's has to be stopped. She is good friends with Ted Stevens, and backed that Bridge totally! She has backed Stevens despite his Corruption charges of taking millions of dollars of gifts. (Our own Repug Governor got kicked out for less that that!)
Please swarm the papers today with letters, no matter how articulate you think they are, reminding the Media we pay attention to what they are reporting on!
The trash coming out on Sara Palin makes her into a Joke! A not too funny joke on women in this country! If this is the best he can do to compare with Hillary, they cannot dispute his senility!
The republican convention reminds me of an Assisted Living home.
Dusty For your information the government pays for my health care...and they would pay for yours as well if you had the cojones to serve your country instead of deriding it. As for going home...I got nothing more interesting to do for the next few hours but watch the panic over our next VP take root right here before my eyes.
Kathy_From_russia Ironically you sound exactly like Mrs. Dan Quayle Circa 1992.
And if you haven;'t sent a contribution to Obama yet today, do so in memory of Sara Palin.
I would give you the website, but it keeps coming up with my information in the donation section, .
google, 'donate Barack Obama', and you will find it.
I don't care if it is your $5 Starbuck money today, let's show the Repugs we are united behind this party, behind our candidates.
PamBYour argument is as disgusting as your imagery...my wallet is not greasy, Your passionate description of her daughter's very personal act borders on a social disorder...The fact is their family is strong...I guess if yours was strong you wouldnt envy her so much. Your argument that she cant be professionally and domestically successful is as repugnant as it was when Mrs. Dan Quayle made it 20 years ago and I voted for Clinton...you do more damage to the cause of women...if you care about women take up another hobby.
Kathy Great plan...now if they could just find the high moral ground on a single issue they could come out swinging.
Palin reminds me of a snippy, bossy wife. Been there, done that. But she may be better qualified than McCain. But that isn't saying much either. McCain released his medical records, but what we really need to see is the old hot heads psychological records. It may be that the Republicans want to elect a demented mad man to the most powerful office in the world so that he can start a nuclear war and finish Bush's goal of bringing on "The end of times" Anyone interested in voting for that?
Be back later
the great thing about palin is she energizes a democratic base that was already pretty energized. the idea that a family wouldn't be permitted to decide what to do if their 13 year old daughter became pregnant after being rapped without interference from the wing nut run gument is worth 5 to 10% of the vote itself....
Goodfoe How unconfortable a real strong woman makes men....that is your issue not hers. I wouldnt doubt that John McCain has some form of PTSD...if he didnt he would be super-human...but your argument and the rest of this unfocused whining party's argument that John McCain=George Bush is as unfounded and rediculous as suggesting that Barrack Obama is some sort of Islamic Radical planted here ala "The Manchurian Candidate" come on man...you're better than that.
PP - you're a class ass jerk but then you probably know that already. Nothing new there.
I don't think that the republican thugs want to talk about "high moral ground" when they have left millions uninsured, started a war on lies, let a city drown, broken this country with cronyism and have produced a president that is the worst in current history.
And so PP - you can kiss my ass and go f**k yourself.
P.S. PamB I dont smoke, and I drink Guiness if I drink at all...but very ironic that you would call me a racist while lumping a bunch of stereotypical "white trash" imagery on me. You are the hypocrite calling the pot a hypocrite...you are a racist you just seem to think that since you wont lump sterotypes on black people that you are somehow "open-minded" and "liberal" but you are really a pretentious fascist and in now way better than the guy who drinks budweiser. You amount to the very worst of the democratic party, and really the very worst of our species. Your party is not served well by your fervor...you and people like you are what prevents the party from regaining the mainstream voter...your hatred is boundless and unfounded and sad.
Good morning, all.
I finally got to see Palin's speech late last night after the tennis matches.
Now why did the beauty queen from small town Alaska sound so much like the incompetent cowboy in the White House? Could it be that she too has no idea what’s going on with the economy or our foreign policy?
That breath of fresh air from Walliss sounded just like the same old Republican windbags we’ve been listening to for the past eight years.
There she stood sneering into the camera trying to instruct the nation on "Government for (and by) Dummies." And she was going to rap your knuckles with a ruler if you didn’t listen up.
She was a lot more appealing as the pistol packing mama toting around a Bible and a troubled teen. But McCain thought having Palin act like Ann Coulter in heat would better bridge the gap with a worried middle class?
The maverick from Alaska, who knows how to lie and deceive with the best of the Washington Elite, did a disservice to her faith as well last night. If she is the feminine face of the Christian Right, they need a face lift and heart transplant badly.
And there was nothing small town about Governor Palin’s address except the same speech writer who pens for the village idiot from Crawford. He's inspired a 28% approval rating.
It isn’t easy to insult so many Independents, Hillary supporters, and worried working class Americans looking for the conservative compassion that never materialized in the last eight years. But Palin found a way.
The Bush Crime Family has their Christian Right candidate. And McCain is back to square one...again. American voters have seen Sarah Palin before in a more Texan form and grew to regret it badly.
Incompetence breds a third term of Republican incompetence? Not in my America.
The independants McCain wants, want someone who can work across the isle. I guess they realize that is not possible with the republican ticket. Let's see Palin couldn't get hillary voters with the whole glass ceiling thing. So now they are trying to do what, rev up their base. Those morons were going to vote McCain anyway. Palin's net gain is 0 and possibly a negative cause McCain just lost indepenants.
Kathy_from_Pakistan That hurts. How you and all your peers here can spout the hatred you do with the vile name calling, and grotesque wishes for failure and think I am a jerk is mind-bottling.
PP-just like a republican all words no action. I care, I care, what donate time or money, no way I don't care that much.
pwns, You are good for a laugh this morning. Have to get rid of that pent up hatred in your gut this morning, huh? You Been watching Obama knock the shit out of McCain, not only coming up in the polls, but Electoral vote wise, needs about 27 more points to get to the 270 !
and it is eating your little guts up, so you jump on this woman's first speech as signs of their winning! Wait till she is forced to respond to the media and the public, and not keep hiding behind McCain's coattails. Wait till the debates when she won't have a teleprompter with words written by Karl rove. ]
Jealous of Her? Give me a break. This is the party that has women like Hillary Clinton, who makes this female look childish standing there shouting shrilly all the words given her by someone else. And she does a good job attacking Obama's record, but where were her views on how she will fix this very broken country, that John McCain with 26 years in Senate helped Break???? It looked like the 100 Republican delegates who were there liked it.
ONe of the TV channels was going around looking for Republican leaders and Senate and House Reps, but none to be found. They KNOW to stay away from any connection to this party of Corruption, Criminal, Sexual perverts.
And as for the daughter, you guys just don't get it. IT IS THE HYPOCRISY OF THIS WOMAN RUNNING AS A GOD FEARING, FAMILY VALUE, CHURCH GOING REPUBLICAN THAT IS THE BID DEAL!!! Her support for abstinence has a big giant hole in it. Her goody two shoe image is gone. Her own teen daughter she let run wild.
So go find a job, my fine feathered Repug, you are nothing but a blowhard here, and strictly a joke. (Watch that greasy little wallet of your's. Make sure you don't give a hand to any children, elderly, disabled, veterans, with it) :)
DEMS:
Here are some talking points about the lies and distortions in last night's speech. PLEASE use them in your letters to editors. Please copy and send this around to any gloating Repug relatives today.
Attacks, praise stretch truth at GOP convention By JIM KUHNHENN, Associated Press Writer
ST. PAUL, Minn. - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her Republican supporters held back little Wednesday as they issued dismissive attacks on Barack Obama and flattering praise on her credentials to be vice president. In some cases, the reproach and the praise stretched the truth.
Some examples:
PALIN: "I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending ... and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress 'thanks but no thanks' for that Bridge to Nowhere."
THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a "bridge to nowhere."
PALIN: "There is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform — not even in the state senate."
THE FACTS: Compared to McCain and his two decades in the Senate, Obama does have a more meager record. But he has worked with Republicans to pass legislation that expanded efforts to intercept illegal shipments of weapons of mass destruction and to help destroy conventional weapons stockpiles. The legislation became law last year. To demean that accomplishment would be to also demean the work of Republican Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, a respected foreign policy voice in the Senate. In Illinois, he was the leader on two big, contentious measures in Illinois: studying racial profiling by police and requiring recordings of interrogations in potential death penalty cases. He also successfully co-sponsored major ethics reform legislation.
PALIN: "The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes, raise payroll taxes, raise investment income taxes, raise the death tax, raise business taxes, and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars."
THE FACTS: The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama's plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain's plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded.
Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.
He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise.
Oh and one more thing PP asshole - you're only in here because you are scared that we are going to win. You are very scared that your party is going to have to start talking issues because the American voter wants to talk issues. You have nothing to run on - nothing! That's why all of the speeches were hot air - you have nothing to say because you are the party of nothing - you offer no hope - no solutions and no class.
And by your very posting - remind all of us just what the republican party is - a bunch of old white losers...that's a huge "L" in case you can't figure that who are very nervous because we have a class act - you have 2 dysfunctional families
Sandy:
Now why did the beauty queen from small town Alaska sound so much like the incompetent cowboy in the White House? Could it be that she too has no idea what’s going on with the economy or our foreign policy?
She's Bush dressed in drag......
SandyH Thankfully, your impressions are not based in any sort of reality. Even CNN reporters were very impressed, which leaves your impressions somewhere to the left of insane. If you were in anyway honest you know there wasnt a damn thing she could do to impress you last night short of respectfully declining the nomination and leaving John McCain to pick a much easier choice for the Democratic Derision Machine. Seriously, a party that scoffs at military service labeling those who serve as murder junkies, sneers at people of faith (unless that faith happens to be Islam) does not and will not ever be able to predict the leanings of the independent voter (just ask Smoking Joe Lieberman). Speaking of Same old windbags...is the democratic party ever going to realize that this country HATED Jimmy Carter and stop running on his platform? Maybe if they did...you wouldn't have to listen to republicans for the next 8 years.
Morning Kathy, PP is obviously from a dysfuntional family himself! Don't you hate it when past military guys come in here and JUST have to tout that they were in the service, ! :)
Heading out , Dems. Will bbl.
just got to post this last one.
"More often than not, the role of a vice president is a minor one, unless some tragedy occurs. But a presidential nominee's choice of a running mate is vitally important. It is his first executive decision and offers an important insight into how that nominee would lead the nation.
If John McCain wants voters to conclude, as he argues, that he has more independence and experience and better judgment than Barack Obama, he made a bad start by choosing Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska.
Mr. McCain's supporters are valiantly trying to argue that the selection was a bold stroke that shows their candidate is a risk-taking maverick who - we can believe - will change Washington. (Mr. Obama's call for change - now "the change we need" - has become all the rage in St. Paul.)

see ya later, Dems.........
Hey Sandy, She has more experience than than BO and BALLS. I say move here to the top of the ticket and let JM be HER VP.
Let the games begin!
PP said: unless that faith happens to be Islam
Ok ashole - let me try to explain this in terms someone as uneducated as you will
u n d e r s t a n d.
We don't hate religion, we only hate religion when it is abused by a few religious wack jobs who think they can use their religion for political gain. Your candidate - what's her name - I can never remember it becasue NO ONE KNOWS HER - has said and I quote:
Speaking before the Pentecostal church, Palin painted the current war in Iraq as a messianic affair in which the United States could act out the will of the Lord. . "Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God," she exhorted the congregants. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan.
She is no different then the terrorist who crashed the airplanes into the buildings. While they did that horrible deed, they also spoke to god....
Nice candidate you people had given the republicans.... a creepy bible banger who thinks it's ok to bring jesus into the political spot light. Guess you don't want the Jewish vote... because you just lost that one too.
And if you haven;'t sent a contribution to Obama yet today, do so in memory of Sara Palin.
I don't care if it is your $5 Starbuck money today, let's show the Repugs we are united behind this party, behind our candidates.

Pam,
And our middle class agenda.
Point well taken. I'm sending a donation and I bet millions of other Democrats will, too.
It's really disturbing that McCain would set this woman up to take the fall for him in November...and she's so eager to do it.
Common sense alone should have told her not to accept this nomination knowing it had the certainty of publicly humiliating her daughter. John Edwards is a similar case in point.
And Palin has to know that McCain is no Ronald Reagan...he doesn't have the Hollywood pedigree, easy humor, or even the full backing of his own Party. She's going to have to carry that rich old coot's weight and get the blame when they fail.
But that's what blind ambition does. It clouds your judgment and makes you make mistakes.
She'll be lucky if she holds onto her seat in Alaska in 2010 after last night's ugly performance. Didn't she realize that she was representing Alaska?
I had been thinking she had some real potential. But instead of taking a raw new talent and shining it up like a gem, the GOP decided to pulverized it and mold the putty into a some sort of Witched Witch from Wassula?
And she let them do it to her. Wow, she really is a dumb beauty queen.
Sandy, Palin has more experience and BALLS than the GQ Guy! Move her to the top of the ticket and let JM be her VP! Damn she was good last night!
Let the games begin!
Sandy - I;'m still waiting for the nude pictures to appear on the internet. Most beauty queens have someplace, a copy of a picture they would rather not have made public.
It'll happen....
If Palin says she has more experience than the entire democratic ticket - as governor of Alaska - then doesn't she have more experience than the other half of the republican ticket? Senators McCain, Biden and Obama - have never run anything - so maybe she should run for president instead of VP.
Also if her experience is anything to go by - she's abused power (see troopergate), is an irresponsible parent ( hasn't taught her kid to be sexually responsible) and has no concern for her disabled child who needs a mom more than a VP.
Go for it Sarah!!
I'm making a donation to Obama right now in the name of what's her name....brb
Kathy_from_trailerville Again with the names...i am neither old nor white...you like PamB are a racist and a pig if your lot in life sucks its becuase YOU put yourself there..no one else. I agree that Obama is a class act...too bad you arent. I have no problem with Obama; he would make a great VP candidate unfortunately his constituency are the dregs of this country...they are the lazy, incompetent, and irresponsible and setting our national priorities to support them is unacceptable to me and the independent voter. It is frankly you and PamB that ruin his chances to win. Dont bother replying with another ignorant statement, I am going back to celebrate with the "old white losers" confident that i have made the right decision...thanks for making it easier.

Nobody in this country or the world for that matter hates Jimmy Carter.
The younger generation knows that he spearheaded the drive to make Habitat For Humanity a national and international movement. They seek to emulate his Christian charity and admire his work promoting democratic elections around the globe.
You're living in the past. Those struggling to survive in this Republican economy and watching our military and American reputation weakened abroad live in the present. They're terrified of a future with John McNuts continuing a third term of the Bush agenda.
The beauty queen who would take command if that sickly old man dies isn't a reformer or a maverick. She showed last night what she really is.
Palin made an impression last night alright. Who would have guessed that she was just as reckless and irresponsible as George W. Bush? Thanks for making it so clear to America.
PP,
Stuff your bullshit up your bony ass. You are obviously part of the me-me-me generation "I've got mine and screw everyone else generation of selfish pricks.
You say that people should pull themselves up by their bootstraps and quit sponging off the government. This is total bullshit.
You bastards do not care about life after it leaves the womb. How about people who cannot take care of themselves and people who are ill or aged and can't work.
neoocns and you are a bunch of selfish, self-absorded, greedy, arrogant, stupid, assholes. You are sucking on welfare with your health government provided healthcare. So cut the bullshit.

Thanks for the fact checks.. great. We heard all the same lies.. raise taxes raise taxes raise taxes... did nothing did nothing did nothing.
Computer geeks out there.. time for another web ad or DNC TV ad... she showed her incompetence on the first line of her speech.
Palin: "I guess being a mayor is kind of like being a community organizer, except with responsibilities."
Truth that Palin and the Republicans may not know: Community organizations are responsible for helping millions of Americans each year. They are made up of church groups and regular americans who want to make a difference in their communities by helping people find jobs, helping with utility costs, morgage relief, feed and clothe families, and helping victims of natural disasters.
These groups have helped out millions over the past eight years after government has failed. They were the first ones to arrive in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, they were the first ones on scene after 9/11 to help victims and their families.
Community organizations are there to help out whenever people need a lift up.
It is not that the Republicans don't care, it is because they don't know.
Come on dems, nail them hard on this...
Was it me or was Fred Thompson caughing on his own BS while attempting to clear his throat?
From Alaska, McCain's pick of Palin is looking half-baked
http://www.philly.com/inquirer/opinion/20080904_From_Alaska__McCain_s_pick_of_Palin_is_looking_half-baked.html
......... Sarah Palin is simply not qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency, especially when that heart beats in the chest of a man who would be the oldest president ever elected to a first term.
If you held Palin's political resume up to the light, you could see right through it. Mayor of a small town, followed by less than two years as governor of a state with the third-smallest population in the country.
That's the person who is qualified to take over if the Norns snip McCain's thread? The woman prepared to be commander in chief?
I know, I know. Somewhere, a thousand spin doctors are trying to inflate Palin's accomplishments, to make McCain's decision look less like the Hail Mary it so clearly is.
But before they make her sound like the second coming of Otto von Bismarck, only in high heels, here's an assessment that's a little closer to the truth: Palin's time as governor has been a mixed bag.
She deserves high marks for moving the possibility of a gas pipeline forward. But most of the work on oil taxes was done by the legislature. Ditto with ethics reform.
And her role in killing the ballyhooed "Bridge to Nowhere"?
Turns out that she was for it before she was against it, and that, well, she kept the money anyway.
Add to this a growing sense that the state government isn't running all that well:
Commissioners and key staffers jumping or being pushed. The operating budget growing 10 percent a year.
Policy problems such as high energy costs being papered over with cash giveaways. The governor and her aides being investigated by the legislature.
You can see why it's not clear she's a competent governor of Alaska, let alone qualified to take over the reins of the national government. .........
Johne,
The Dems use the poor and keep them dependent on the government tit just like a crack dealer.
Here's the thing about Palin: she's likeable enough. You can see that she is sincere in her beliefs and tries to live up to her ideals. Those things were true of "heck of a job, Brownie," too. The question isn't how likeable or sincere a candidate might be unless she is also qualified. Last night at the Republican convention, they made a monumental effort to deprecate Obama's qualifications to be president because that's really the meat of the difference between Palin and Obama.
Palin may scoff at Obama's "ivy league" education - let her insinuate all she likes about elitism, but education does matter. For purposes of governance, education in law is more appropriate than education in acting. Oh, I know the Republicans are going to short, "What about Reagan?" To which I say, yes, what about Reagan? It was his administration that set the tone for the disasters facing us today.
And while Palin's mayoral term of a small town in Alaska may have done a great deal for her confidence level, it doesn't translate to the complexities of dealing with a large and diverse constituency as Obama did as state senator in Illinois. Giuliani may try to dismiss that experience as Obama's training by the "corrupt political machine" of Chicago - and he's a man who knows corruption - but in fact Obama was elected by the people, not the machine, and he served them well.
In one especially jarring note, Palin attempted to devalue Obama's years as a community organizer as laughable, thereby deprecating all those dedicated souls who labor for small or for no pay, but for great reward, for the common good. If all the community organizers stopped performing their duties - their "actual responsibilities" - this great nation would grind to an immediate halt. But we know how Republicans feel about community. They can't comprehend doing anything for the common good and especially doing it for little pay. Money trumps compassion every time. Just consider Palin's line item veto a few months ago of housing for pregnant teens. Yeah, ironic isn't it?
Being governor of Alaska - a state with fewer than 700,000 people is a good beginning for Palin. She may eventually become a formidable political force, but she's not there yet, and attempting to equalize the field between herself and Obama by tearing him down to her level isn't going to change that. It's going to take more than like ability to dig us out of the morass of economic and political disaster which the Bush years have wrought. Frankly, we, the people, have had enough of the Brownies and the Gonzaleses, the Rumsfelds and the Roves whose political corpses litter the Republican landscape. We'd rather have competence than likeability if that's our only choice. Fortunately, with Obama/Biden, it's not: we can have both.
Hey PP don't let the door kick you in your large ass. You're one complete jerk asshole. No wonder you're a republican - you fit in very well with all of them.
For a very long time I have said that we need to disreguard what the trolls post in here because they are not only losers but they come in here to disrupt.
Since the DNC can not filter these creeps out of here then I say -
It's open season on these assholes once and for all.
You want to fight - you got it asswipe.
Come get me...
Kathy,
It would appear that the RNC is in full defense mode today. They've sent in reinforcements. When your Veep makes that bad of a first impression with swing voters, what else can they do?
It's too late now to say she's a Hockey Mom. She's McNuts on steriods. She's turned off men with her snooty attitude and bile dripping from her mouth. Women are wondering why she deliberately humiliated her daughter.
I guess it's "My Career First" instead of "My Country First."
Does McCain really believe parents want her to be the role model for our daughters and sons? It's his bad judgment that brought this all down on the Republican Party.
Send in your clowns. The damage is already done.
Posted by francespryor on September 4, 2008 at 10:38 AM
So she does have a record she's running away from...just like Bush?
Don't matter. McCain is the one with the losing agenda now and the reckless personality.
Johne Another example of the hypocrisy destroying the democratic party...nice string of names...Im sure you went to college to learn to string so many perjuratives together...what people like me do is help their own. Our families are strong, we dont require the government to be our parents. effeminate elititists (john with an e...so gouche) will call me greedy and arrogant and about me me me...because I am not about you you you....your whines are tiresome, ignorant and immature...you really are delusional and rotten...your souls are black and there is no cure...Obama cant save you, because he isnt like you...and I am certain has about the same respect level for your constant name calling as I do...I would tell you to go fuck yourself, but it is obvious you are already fucked
But we know how Republicans feel about community. They can't comprehend doing anything for the common good and especially doing it for little pay.
Posted by tylinCA on September 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM
Excellent. The common good is a swear word to these conservatives. Their parents raised them to be selfish adults. It's all about them.
SandyH,
Jimmy Carter is a good man.
He was a HORRIABLE president!
Hi, John Boy.
Haven't seen you around lately. Working on another book?
Sarah Palin just does not get it, does she? America supports it's troops, plain and simple.
What most of us don't support is them dying for someone's personal or political agenda. The chest thumping that she did last night because her son is going to Iraq is just that. The only thing she did not do is wrap herself in the flag. She is proud of her son, like a mother or father should be, but to use that for political gain.... Shame on you Sarah Palin.
The Republicans talk of "FAMILY" like the rest of us don't know what tht is. Her daughter has her full support, but why wasn't she in the "FAMLIY" shot during mom's speech. Dad was there, so was sis, and baby brother, even Mrs. McCain was there. Was it because mom was giving her speech and did not want the thought of her pregnant 17 year old daughter flashing acrossed the minds of the American viewing public. There were shots of her and the other kid involved in this family values issue, but not with the rest of the "FAMILY" Just pulls on the old heartstrings doesn't it.
The message I got for the Republican Party last night was "Any means neccesary!" Which seems like the same old message. So much for change.
Was that really Margaret Hamilton last night Disguised as Rudy Giuliani? "If you don't vote for McCain, the Terrorist will get you my pretty" Funny, he even laughs like the Wicked Witch of the West. Wondering if he ever dressed like a witch in drag............ nah!
what people like me do is help their own.
PP,
You forget the millions who don't have anyone else. Are you going to throw them out with the bath water because they don't count and have no one to help them out? To me that is very selfish and not what this great country is about.
Kathy_From_Crazyville A fight? I thought you were anti-war? Oh the hypocrisy raises its ugly Kathy face again...no Kathy I dont want a fight with you...there is nothing to gain...it just looks like I am picking on the intellectually inferior. Seriously, I dont think you are stupid, i just assume you have already spent all of your wlefare on crack and now are extremely irratible.
Hey Johne,
How come BO only gave 1% of his income from 2000 to 2005 and only 6% after that?
It's because like all socialist BO want us to give by the point of a government gun to what HE wants. I prefer to make my own decisions on who and how I'll help. We conservative don't wear it on our sleeves or enslave the poor with it. We help them.
Palin ROCKS!
Nobody died when Carter was Commander-in-Chief.
Baye Buchanan is saying on CNN that nobody was coming to the RNC convention last week. The Party had fallen flat on its face and nobody was backing McCain.
They only are there now because of a woman they didn't know or couldn't pronounce her name as of last Friday?
They are asking Americans to trust them again after eight years of this same sort of disorganized, incompetent, and reckless leadership?
Dream on.
Johne I of course do not advocate throwing anyone out with the bath water. But seriously travel the world a bit man we have the fattest "poor" people in the world. They are taken care of, what I am concerned with is those who break their backs working just to end up not that much better off than those who dont. Redistribution of wealth= Communism: Communism=Fail. Why did my mother work minimum wage jobs to raise me when the welfare kids i lived next to had better shoes and clothes? Because she was an American.
"We conservative don't wear it on our sleeves or enslave the poor with it. We help them."
Yeah.....that's just about as hypocritical as it gets. The air in this blog room just got completely fouled with the stinch of shit.
1980 - 1984
Obama: B. A. in political science, specializing in international relations from Columbia University
Palin: Wasilla High School, Captain of the state-champion basketball team. Miss Wasilla, runner-up in Miss Alaska Pageant, also Miss Congeniality!...
1985 - 1990
Obama: moved to Chicago; became a community organizer as director of the Developing Communities Project (DCP), a church-based community organization on Chicago's far South Side. During his three years as the DCP's director, its staff grew from 1 to 13 and its annual budget grew from $70,000 to $400,000, with accomplishments including helping set up a job training program, a college preparatory tutoring program, and a tenants' rights organization.
Moved to Boston to attend Harvard Law School. Selected as an editor and then elected president of the Harvard Law Review, a full-time volunteer position functioning as editor-in-chief and supervising the law review's staff of 80 editors.
Palin: Bachelor of Science in communications-journalism, minor in political science from the University of Idaho. Brief stint as sports reporter for local Anchorage TV stations; left to join her husband commercial fishing.
hahaha - yeah right - she has more experience then Obama - as usual, the republicans just can't stop lying. They lied about the war and they are lying about what's her name...
Aw PP whats the matter sweetheart - can't come up with anything better to say then that. You've already said stuff like that before - it's getting old - just like your party - old white men who are stuck on the 80's. Got a news flash for you sweetheart - right now, we're leading your nut job and his sweet ass beauty queen. I guess that's why you're in here because you're feeling sooo bad...just keep those posts coming loser - we're all laughing at you.
SandyH I ignored your statement that nobody in this country hates Jimmy Carter because it was silly...but this statement is sooo epically uninformed: "Nobody died when Carter was Commander-in-Chief-" that you goaded me into a response: April 25, 1980 — A defining moment for President Jimmy Carter, for the American people and for America’s military. At 7 a.m. a somber President Carter announces to the nation, and the world, that eight American servicemen are dead and several others are seriously injured, after a super-secret hostage rescue mission failed. Ya they died in vain, as it seems some democrats would hope the more than 4000 men and women who have died in Iraq would. Let us not forget those hostages spent 444 days in Iranian captivity and their only crime was their President was too weak to handle it. Jimmy Carter is why America Loved Ronald Reagan, he is why there were three Bush terms, and he is why your party is loathed by conservatives and laughed at by the enemies of this nation.
oh no - more bad news for the republicans:
Michigan Independents Not Wooed By Palin
By the Political Carnival
From a panel conducted by the Detroit Free Press. Seems that they ran out of kool aid in Michigan. More here.
“Sarah Palin came across as the small town girl who made good. I knew that I disagreed with her on some issues before this evening. After listening to her speech … it appears that once she makes up her mind, that is the end of it. We live in a gray world, not every answer is black and white.”
-- Diane Murphy, 42, Sterling Heights independent
“I was completely underwhelmed. She was a Republican novelty act with a sophomoric script. It was not even a speech I would expect for a someone running for the local PTA, much less for vice president.”
-- George Lentz, 66, Southfield independent

I really don't think my family is like her's and they don't even come close to resembling anybody I know in my highly Republican suburb.
I've never met a Soccer Mom that resembles Palin. I've never met a Republican politician that resembles her. She acts and sounds like a media pundit not a public servant.
Why didn't McCain select Christy Todd Whitman or Kaye Baily Hutchinson. They aren't reformers or political mavericks?
Why pick an unknown from Alaska at the last minute? I think Buchanan answered that question.
Nobody in the lower 48 or Hawaii wanted to have anything to do with that crazy old man McCain...and his insistence that this country suffer another four years of failed Bush policies.
Nobody is questioning whether she could be a veep and a working mother, too. They are putting out this red herring for their Christian Right base. The Hillary supporters (and everybody else for that matter) are looking at Palin strictly as a candidate.
People are questioning whether she can do the job when she freely admits that she doesn't know what a vice president does and what's going on in the world. We have the taped interviews where she said it just recently.
She not ready to solve any of the problems facing this nation. She's not even aware that there is a problem for working families.
Kathy_From_Denialville At least give me props for the clever put down...I know your party is big on denial, but I was hoping that Obama would help you "change" that habit.
Very interesting:
REFUSES TO PAY HER TAXES?? (talking about what's her name)
Palin failed to declare a business she owned. The business was dissolved by the state for non payment of fees owed. She also started a failed Marketing Company named Rouge Cou. Translated from THE FRENCH it means “Red neck”
_car_wash.html">voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/09/02/palin_scrubbing
_car_wash.html
ummm - that link wouldn't work - sorry.
but anyway - all it says is that she didn't pat taxes... damn it just like a dirty republican.
Hey PP - read it and wipe asshole:
3 Degrees of Separation: Sarah Palin-Steven Silver-Jack Abramoff
In addition to being Ted Stevens' chief of staff, Mayor Palin's lobbyist Steven Silver was an Abramoff confidant
ummm - that link wouldn't work - sorry.
This will come out soon enough. Funny how the Repubs are defending how "vetted" Palin was prior to the pick. I bet they wish they had a Mulligan to work with.
PalinPwns: So Ragan gets high marks for illegally giving arms to venerable Iran, in exchange for the hostages the US Miltary heroically tried to rescue. And conservatives set the tone for a new democracy by lying about it under oath. And your group still goes by that tried and true tricle down economics, where we're all better off because we've made the rich richer and and we're beholding to them for their generosity and good will, their willingness to share their bounty. Yes, Reagan and his lackies were quite a group and only a small reason why there are many more fair minded people than thankless, destructive neo-cons.
Have a wonderful day.
you goaded me into a response
You better respond. That's what you are paid to do. And I assume your work is being monitored by the NSA. Cheney could have you tortured.
I love it. Pat Robertson just admitted that Christian Right voters were more than a little lukewarm to McCain before he chose Palin. They are only energize by his veep choice...and only because she is pro-life.
Poor Sarah. She's just an instrument of God not one of His chosen male leaders.
Well, I suppose we will have Robertson praying for McCain to expire...maybe even suggest that Palin kill him outright like he did Caesar Chevez?
Was there anybody in the Republican Party willing to admit they wanted to see McCain president as of last Thursday?
Joe Lieberman doesn't count...(in anybody's estimation) and neither does Lindsey Graham who is just a McCain hanger on. Isn't he the one running for President?
I guess we could poll nursing homes?
PP- Freedom isn't Free, so vote for the candidate that will increase your taxes so you will be the patriot you believe you are. We need to stop paying billions a month of interest to china on what a 3 trillion dollar debt. It is not christlike to live high on the hog during war. It is not what Jesus would do. We need to pay for our generations war, not our children and grandchildren. Oh that's right you want low taxes and you don't care about people once they are born. Hypocrit.
Senator Obamas tax plan will fail. Gearge Bush proved it. How well did the stimulus checks stimulate? How many jobs did it create? Most middle class americans wont even notice a change. The Robin Hood plan cannot bail out America. We must take more responsibility for our own problems.
Who makes up the bulk of the independent voter pool? Former Democrats who could no longer tolerate being associated with a party that once said "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." That stood firm in the threat of Communist aggresion to the point of taking us to the brink of nuclear war. Into its current Communist/socialist hate America first mantra...and the sick sad irony is John F. Kennedy's own blood led the charge. Great Job Ted...I hope he kicks the shit out of you in heaven.
oh earth - I think it's just starting - wait until she opens her mouth and has to answer a real question... bet ol' PP will be doing just that in his shorts!
After tonight's defunked speech by a has been - while I think I just read, 60% of the republican convention are white old males, then I think the shit will really hit the fan...
This is going to be fun.
Kathy... for me what will really be fun will be watching Biden debate Suzy Chapstick. She'll be exposed for the pretender that she really is.
Posted by Earthshine on September 4, 2008 at 11:10 AM
I like his crack that if you aren't for Iraq you aren't for America.
What an outrageous statement. All you hear now are people of all political persuasions saying they want us out of there and resources that have been wasted by Bush invested back into America.
That would be Putting America First.
McCain wants to keep us bogged down there for 100 years help the Iraqis drill oil for China. When are the Republicans going to acknowledge that their own middle class is hurting?
Hi, John Boy.
Haven't seen you around lately. Working on another book?
Posted by SandyH on September 4, 2008 at 11:08 AM
Hi Sandy, it is aways so good to hear from you! Yes, another book is in the works. I have not been here because I have encountered a lot of problems with posting on the blog. Possibly something in my computer.
I hope your folks are doing well.....Peace....John Boy.....
Well last night when I heard Republicans laugh at Obama's experience at organizing a Community Group in Southside Chicago made me sick.
To me it's not monstrous it's just plain evil.
And yes I know it has to do with the two different parties-the Republicans (from what I'm seeing here) do not see helping people as being a political experienced endeavor. And yet they are working for the Community of the USA when they are elected in-but they don't see it that way, do they. And that's not a question it's an observation.
I suppose they do see Sarah as extremely qualified because she and her Husband have a successful business and that's a great thing to them.
Last night I noticed that the delegates had signs that said "Country First" and you know that sounds wonderful and grand and noble.
But being that Liberal darling that I am I can't help but think "what about People First?"
How can people that are God Fearing Christians who are suppose to know Christ was on this earth for the people and not some corporation or some country-how can they laugh at the experience that Obama gained by not being a well paid Corporate Lawyer after going to Harvard and tried to help out the people of that community?
I'm just a little bit sick from this. To be honest.
SandyHYou are quickly emerging as the paramount uninformed democrat...how about we ask Joeseph Biden? Does he count?
CalDEMO Demonstrating a lack of reading comprehension i have come to expect from democrats...I merely blamed Jimmy Carter for Americas love of Ronald Reagan....nice try though maybe if your parents had vouchers they would have chosen better schools for you.
Newsjunkie I have so far purposely refrained from responding to your unintelligiible and logically flawed arguments. But I know freedom isnt free, I have three tours in Iraq and counting and several dead friends to prove it, but you touch on voting for a taxer...I would absouletly do it if the candidate was straight forward and planned to balance our budget and fix our weak dollar...That isnt Obama's plan though, and McCain and Palin have both proven they will cut spending.
NOW, the National Organization for Women will be calling for a National Boycott of US Magazine. Their continued sexist comments towards Sarah Palin is absolutely disgraceful!
I have cancelled my subscription and have urged my corporate headquarters marketing department to cancel our advertising indefinitely in US Magazine and urge other clients to do the same.
I am a life-long democratic woman who supported Hillary Clinton along with 18 million others. I keep hearing Democratic strategists declaring that we "disgruntled Hillary supporters" will not vote for McCain simply because he chose a woman to be his VP. But this is NOT TRUE!
Now what Americans needs to know is that I along with thousands of other Hillary supporters WILL be voting for McCain and Sarah Palin because we WANT to see a woman as VP and voters like myself see it as a brilliant move by McCain to reach out to us women voters.
The TVangelists threaten us of Roe vs Wade being overturn but fail to mention that both Bush administrations were Pro-Life and women still have the right to chose.
We have seen too many times MEN come on the National TV news and radio speaking on behalf of us women who have said that we Hillary supporters who are women will never vote for McCain and Sarah Palin because we don't agree with her stand on the issues? Why donesn't the sexist liberally biased media simply ask us women our opinion? Because they know that the majority of women DO infact support Sarah Palin and will vote for her because she is a woman.
We are sending a message to our Democratic Party leadership like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reed that THEY are not in charge of chosing our Nominee, WE the people are!
We are also embarking on a campaign with major womens groups to boycott, pull advertising from, and email our dissatisfaction to the editors of these major news networks who have been and who currently are being sexist towards Sarah Palin, Hillary Clinton and women in general. These networks include US Magazine, Huffington Post, Daily Kos, Associated Press, MSNBC, CNN, New York Times, Newsweek, Time, Washington Post, US News and World Report, Rolling Stone, Mens Journal along with ABC and CBS News.
When Obama began winning caucuses Delegates were told to vote for Obama early in the Election, then when delegates had second thoughts they were threatened! When Colorado Democratic Party leader Billy Compton intimidated Sacha Millstone asking her to resign as a Delegate because she had second thoughts on Obama was outrageous! When the sexist/racist Emil Jones called Delmarie Cobb who supported Hillary an "Uncle Tom" infuriates us women!
We women are not going to "fall in line" behind Obama who has less experience then Palin in public office. At least with McCain and Palin they have proven that they can actually bring about change in our government and not just talk about it. As a woman I can't beieve that it is the Republican Party who chose a woman as their VP. It shows the sexism that exists in our current Democratic Party and it is disgraceful!
We hope that the media will politely correct the assertions of the Democratic Strategists who dare suggest that the 18 million Hillary voters are going to back Obama because it's not happening now, and our numbers are growing everyday to bring our vote to McCain and Palin!
I am proud to be one out of the 18 million of us so called "Disgruntled Hillary supporters" who will be voting for McCain and especially Palen now that McCain has shown the courage to chose a woman and his VP. The Obama campaign had been sexist towards Hillary and we women are not going to tolerate it anymore.
We are asking other Democratic women to join us in sending a message to our Democratic Party Leadership and the sexist liberally biased media that THEY do not chose our Nominee by intimidating elected Delegates into voting for THEIR choice.
Vote McCain/Palin.
Democrats Stop using your unwillingness to saddle up and take care of the children you father as an excuse to accuse me of not caring about the living. The fact is if you are a male who is pro-choice you are a pig...you give two shits about a woman and her rights...you just dont want to get "trapped" but great job convincing women that it's them you care about...I'm sure it gets you plenty of action.
SS-John McCain and Newt both said Palin is McCains soulmate. How sexist of him. He wouldn't say Mit was his soulmate.
Somehow though the Main Stream Media missed calling that sexist. The main stream media is owned by energy giants that want Yes Boy Johnnie. The media is republican.
Wow, the gloves are OFF! I couldn't muster the energy to watch Palin recite lines last night. I will wait for her to appear without a script and see how she "acts" then.
Meanwhile, even the watercarriers for the GOP aren't hiding their belief that she is seriously underqualified for VPOTUS. Can you imagine her leading the Senate???? Yikes!

Nice to see that your only criteria for a potential presidential candidate is a vagina. You make every woman proud.
pp-Obama is going to create jobs. He will give tax breaks to American companies that stay and employ americans. Bush gave tax incentives for corporations to go to China for cheap Commie Labor. When we tax those companies that left, instead of giving tax breaks, when we end the invasion of Iraq, that was nothing but a failed attempt to get oil for bush and cheney, we will be strong to help the weak. America is only as strong as it's weakest link.
SexismSucks:
You may want to unbuckle your Chastity belt and relax a little. Fortunately for the United States, you're of probably 10 people and not the 18 million "Disgruntled Hillary supporters" you profess that will vote for McCain. When you want to make an argument that is tangible and solid, speak with facts and not your own biases. Makes for better conversation.
Well last night when I heard Republicans laugh at Obama's experience at organizing a Community Group in Southside Chicago made me sick.

Comparing a community Organizer to the experience of a state governor?-------

State government
Like all other U.S. states, Alaska is governed as a republic, with three branches of government: an executive branch consisting of the Governor of Alaska and the other independently elected constitutional officers; a legislative branch consisting of the Alaska House of Representatives and Alaska Senate; and a judicial branch consisting of the Alaska Supreme Court and lower courts.
The State of Alaska employs approximately 15,000 employees statewide.[46]
The 2005 gross state product was $39.9 billion. Its per-capita GSP for 2006 was $43,748, 5th in the nation. The oil and gas industry dominates the Alaskan economy, with more than 80% of the state's revenues derived from petroleum extraction. Alaska's main export product (excluding oil and natural gas) is seafood, primarily salmon, cod, Pollock and crab. Agriculture represents only a fraction of the Alaskan economy.

I heard on the news this morning that some company (I missed the name) was laying off 300 people and moving to China.
Thanks bush.
The excuse was that customers demand cheap prices so in order to compete they have to move to China. What a lame excuse. Apparently all the other companies that sell the same product have already moved.
They announced the unemployment figures this week. There were over 440,000 applications for unemployment last week an increase of 15,000.
These are the selfish conservative bastards in action. Screw Americans. Don't support minimum wage increases. I suppose they think unemployment is welfare. If that's the case they most likely think Medicare and Social Security are welfare too.
These people must be evangelicals like palin. They do not believe in what Jesus preached and it's every man for himself. I am glad that my religion believes in helping people unlike most other religions.
Wow, the gloves are OFF! I couldn't muster the energy to watch Palin recite lines last night. I will wait for her to appear without a script and see how she "acts" then.
Yep... I think if Biden isn't careful, he could really humiliate Suzy Chapstick.
On a rather humorous note (at least for me) my son came to me after hearing part of Palin's speech in the other room. The part about a "pitbull with lipstick" or some such nonsense. He said, "She sounded stupid, did she go to college?" I said, "Yep. University of Idaho". He said, "Well, that explains it."
badumpdump! Go Broncos! :)

Lets compare resumes:

J.D. in Law from Hardvard, graduated magna cum laude; President of the Harvard Law Review
Palin:Bachelor's in journalism from University of Idaho

Worked many years as a community organizer working to put a community back to work after the local steel mill closed.

Public Service:
Obama:7 years State Senator:
4 years Senator for Illinos, a state with 12.8 million people.
Palin:4 years Wasilla City Council (8000 people)
6 years Wasilla mayor (8000 people)
20 months governor of a state with 660,000 people
Foreign Relations: Chairman of the foreign relations sub committee of the US Senate. Studied International Relations in College.
Was right on the issue of going into Iraq to begin with.
After stating for many years that we should set a timeline for leaving Iraq, which the Iraqi government agrees with, the current Bush administration has implemented Obama's view.
After stating for many years that we should talk with not only our freinds but enemies as well, the current Bush administration has implemented Obama's view to talk to Iran.
After stating for many years that we should focus on those that actually attacked us on 9/11 in Afghanistan, Both Bush and McCain have taken Obama's view after years of fighting it tooth and nail against it.
Palin:Alaska is close to Russia.
So who has the experience to lead us? What arguements are Bush/McCain making?
I think the choice is clear. Don't you?
It's been enjoyable and educational this morning, but I have to get busy trying to get a Republican oriented health insurance company to pay a legitimate claim they are trying to weasel out of. I guess their CEO needs another multi-million dollar bonus!.....Later,....John Boy.....
Blueinidaho the way i see it its no different than having your only criteria be Roe V. Wade...you make every unborn child shiver
Newsjunkie I saw his speech too...its just that other than his presidential campaign he has never actually created a job...also How is it that you all fail to accept repsonsibility for the democrats owning congress and the senate...when they took over werent you guys telling America that now everything would be great? 9% approval rating...congratulations!
Iraq-When we leave Iraq there will be a nation that does not threaten Isreal every 90 days...if we left Iraq today there will be a nation that is nothing but a highway for Iran to export its terrorism to Isreal...Even Obama knows that, which is why his ever changing message went from immediate pull-out, to time-table and mark my words if he wins we will remain until the conditions are met. Im not going to say it was right or wrong to go...the case is strong for both...but we did go and with the blessing of congress...if you start something you finish it...that is American
Johnwithpretentious-e I'll work on growing up and you work on mastering the correct spelling of four letter words and your own name...deal?
Gee, thank god the democrats raised the minimum wage, now Palin's soon to be son-in-law can work after high school at burger king and make 7.50 and hour instead of 5.50. Diapers are what a buch a piece, the baby will need at least 10 of those per day. Formula is expensive. Don't forget those every three month shots, clothes, childcare while they are at work and school. Can't be done. Thank goodness their parents have money otherwise.... Free Condoms in every high school in the country, NOW!
Mc Cain was a Navy officer making command decisions, before Obama was born.
TMH I feel its my duty to inform you that Obama isnt running for VP and Palin isnt running for president...saying Obama was right for not voting to go into Iraq is not a fact but a statement of opinion...since we did in fact go to Iraq there is no way to judge if he was right...only that he was counter to the majority of Americans and Congress. And while you all continue to suggest its a foregone conclusion that it was wrong to invade Iraq I suggest you talk to one of the 10 million Kurds who do not live in fear of being gassed again, who as we speak are building enormous wealth and security both for Kurdistan and iraq proper.
Wish we could get Carl Rove, campaign manager to John McShame, former, fired, Chief of Staff to George W. Bush to show up for his congressional suppena. Oh yes, he claims executive priviledge. He gives Congress the middle finger. The constitution is but a piece of paper to these crooks. Can't wait for Obama to make him testify, he'll be going to jail soon.
newsjunkie,
I love that the RNC operatives come here to "reason" with what they call Communist Asshats. They say they're trying to convince undecided voters (who they claim would never come here) that they are "concerned" citizens. Sure.
Your priorities are all wrong, trolls. Your wasting money that could be better used getting Palin out among her Christian Right cousins. She's not going to fool anyone else.
btw, she lies a lot and doesn't want anyone talking about her public record. It's been noted and is just going to be continually cropping up as more is learned about her past.
And, when she's asked to answer a question (when they even allow a reporter anywhere near her) about the real problems confronting America, she punts. She's always saying, "I don't know." Is she ever going to be capable of learning with an attitude like that?
And now the Republican pundits are telling us they are trying to promote working mothers...or are they just trying to avoid talking about their own failed economic policies?
Has the GOP ever cared about the lot of women workers or sponsored (much less voted for legislation) to make their lives easier?
The fact is that the Republican incumbents have voted in lock step for the past eight years against any measures that would strengthen the economic fortunes of all those that work for a living in America.
bbl.
Mc Cain was a Navy officer making command decisions, before Obama was born/
You are correct sir and with a point of clarification, this means absolutely nothing in regard to todays state of affairs. Rudy the cross-dressing fool Giuliani was born before Obama as well. Does that make him wiser or have more capacity for sound judgement? Obviously not.
newsjunkie- Seriously? the condoms have to be free? They have to be provided by the school? Do you honestly think our teenagers' dont know condoms help prevent pregnancy? See..now you want me to spend my taxes on condoms instead of strengthening our dollar...condoms arent fool proof...and as soon as the public school provides the condom and it fails...the school gets sued likely by a great guy like John Edwards.
Obama will be on FOX tonight, yes he had to show up, hat in hand, and ask to go on Bill's show.
If everyone would ignore these naysayers who offer nothing but personal insults and negative comments, eventually they would give up. They are paid by the responses they receive, not the comments they make. If they get no replies, they will have to get real jobs.
SandyH"Communist Asshats" your words not mine...but really the most insightful thing you have said.

McCain was a navy officer at a time Obama was doing drugs like cocain.

Matt, clean up on aisle troll crap, please.
Have a good day, good {{Dems}}.

Freedom isn't free - We must stop putting the 2 billion a week for Iraq on the Bank of China credit cart. I say everyone pony up and pay some of this war debt down. If you are a true patriot you will be happy to do so. I suggest 3% so if you make 20,000 you pay an additional 600 dollars in a line item on your 1040 that goes directly on the national debt. If you make 2 million you pay 60.000 in a line item on your 1040 directly toward the debt. It is a threat to our financial security to be leveraged by china.
desert bloom hi dan you have no proof of that so shut up
Hi, Dusty.

OMG! Why didn't anyone make that connection before. The republicans are holding their convention next to Sen. Craig's (R-ID) famous bathroom stall. We could have been having fun with that all week.
Maybe all the delegates wanted to have some gay sex in Craig's stall.
The more you know about republicans the more you learn just how bad their judgement is.

Come on, man, trailer trash is better than that! Most of them sure wouldn't drag their families in front of the media spotlight for personal gain!
BTW, Palin is Assembly of God, which is a hard line Pentecostal outfit. She's already made anti-Jewish statements, it's only a matter of time before she flaps her jaws once to often and shoots herself in the foot with Catholics ala Pat Robertson and that ilk or repeats some of the anti-Semitic crap and alienates the Jews who haven't already seen the video.
The media is already asking about interviewing her. The Republicans don't want her talking to the press, just reading the prepared speeches they give her. Can they keep her bottled up until after the election?
Are they going to back out of the presidential and VP debates? Neither of their candidates are good at speaking off the cuff, and they'd be up against two pros. Gonna be interesting!
McCain was a navy officer at a time Obama was doing drugs like cocain.
I'll see your clarification and raise you one.
Obama was doing cocain while McCain was a Navy Officer more content on bing partying and leading shore-leave groups into lengthy bar excursions. More importantly, Obama was the editor of the Harvard Law review and gradutate Magna Cum Laude while McCain was in the lowest 5% of his graduating class at Annapolis.
desert bloom hi dan you have no proof of that so shut up

Dopey it was in Obamas book.....duh...., but non of you asshats know anything about Obama, except for what you make up.
newsjunkieHooray for minimum wage!! So Democrats raised the minimum wage...but Bush increased inflation and unemployment? At least some of you are sooo stupid as not understand how raising minimum wage helps some but obviously not all.
pp- just like a republican anytime you are asked to help you find some stupid excuse as to why it is a bad idea, you are truely the NO people of the country. Yes We Can, where there is a will, there is a way, We are americans there is nothing we can't do. Geez
Condoms would save the taxpayer Billions in medical costs for poor teenage mothers and fathers who have no money to pay for the hospital bill. It will save billions in medical costs to treat sexually transmitted disease, for which Gov. Palins state of Alaska has the second highest rate of STD in the country.
The cost of buying condoms is a fraction of what we would save, it would also cut down on unwanted teenage pregnancy and abortions.
Where was this boy in Alaska supposed to get a condom, what do they have like one store in a 50 mile radius. Everybody knows everybody, it would be all over town if he bought a condom. If he even had the money or gas or car to go.

The most interesting part of the show was how the Republicans flipped on issues when their people were involved. Time Kane was too inexperienced but Sarah Palin is. Jamie Lynn Spears parents were responsible for her immoral behavior but Brisol Palin's are not. It just goes on and there is a wealth of material on record for the Obama/Biden team if they have the chutzpah to use it. I know Barack is a gentleman and wants to stay on the high road, but there comes a time when one must fight back.
Posted by Earthshine on September 4, 2008 at 12:52 PM
You need to work on your concept of dates and time there earthshine.
One for the road:
The lies and exaggerations are already being noted.
Anyone who looks around America since the Republicans took control eight years ago knows that they like to talk about a parallel universe that none of the rest of us live in.
Attacks, praise stretch truth at GOP conventionBy JIM KUHNHENN, Associated Press Writer
Wed Sep 3
ST. PAUL, Minn. - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her Republican supporters held back little Wednesday as they issued dismissive attacks on Barack Obama and flattering praise on her credentials to be vice president. In some cases, the reproach and the praise stretched the truth.
ADVERTISEMENTSome examples:
PALIN: "I have protected the taxpayers by vetoing wasteful spending ... and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. I told the Congress 'thanks but no thanks' for that Bridge to Nowhere."
THE FACTS: As mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired a lobbyist and traveled to Washington annually to support earmarks for the town totaling $27 million. In her two years as governor, Alaska has requested nearly $750 million in special federal spending, by far the largest per-capita request in the nation. While Palin notes she rejected plans to build a $398 million bridge from Ketchikan to an island with 50 residents and an airport, that opposition came only after the plan was ridiculed nationally as a "bridge to nowhere."....
later.
PP-gas prices raised inflation and lowering the interest rate to next to nothing to keep the economy afloat devalued our dollar. Save you Repubenomics that you learned from the lier Hannity for somebody else. I will debat you on economics any day.
Bush has done shit in 7.5 years to get us economically independant the republicans have driven America into a deep ditch. It will be the sound economic principles of the democrats that will bring america back.
How in the hell did these jokers think america could survive flipping burers?
Posted by PalinPwns on September 4, 2008 at 12:35 PM
Loser: learn how to read. I did not say that Obama voted against the war, I said he opposed it. The fact is that Iraq did not attack us on 9/11, we took our eye off the ball of those that did attack us. Obama was right in opposing the war. Bush/McCain were wrong when they tried to tie Iraq to Al Quaeda. Bush/McCain were wrong about Iraq having WMD's.
Obama was right, Bush/McCain were wrong. You are a typical neo-con - lie and distort the facts. I guess if that's all you have then I guess you have to run with it and keep fooling yourself. No one is listening to the neo-con BS anymore, we have had enough!
pp-let's talk about the fact that the republicans have made this country less secure. We can't even build our own tanks or war planes anymore. WTF
Does anyone have any numbers on the increase in Military suicide in the last 5 years? Hannity doesn't want to talk about that.
The enlisted will be voting Obama, just you wait and see.

newsjunkie"Gov. Palins state of Alaska has the second highest rate of STD in the country." cite your source.
"Everybody knows everybody, it would be all over town if he bought a condom." by your logic it would be all over town if he was having sex anyway.
Alaska isnt sub saharan africa ffs...maybe you should go there before casting your judgements...ahh but then youd be a repblican: informed
McCain and Palin have both proven they will cut spending.

pp- It was on fox news, that's your source for everything and they said it so it must be true.
Your beat on the issues. Watch Hannity tonight for some more illogical repubenomics that only the uneducated would buy.
I'm tired of you, you bore me.
newsjunkie You can bet some Soldiers will vote democrat...they arent as automatonic as your party would have the world believe..but dont be so sure it goes down Officer/enlisted lines...I am enlisted.
We of course have numbers on the increase in military suicides...military.com; Armytimes.com are good sources to find statistics and what the services are doing to stem it. The fact that things are tough for us does not mean we shouldnt do it...you are so the NO guy...yes we can win yes we will win even though it is hard. Im sure coming home and having been told their service was in failure, illegal, wrong etc while not being a primary cause sure didnt help their mental states...careful how far you throw your stones. I cant even comment on your silly suggestion that we are less secure.
the palin reverse bounce continues:

National Rasmussen Tracking Obama 50, McCain 45 Obama +5

A piper cub airplane was circling around Atlanta airport, and called the air traffic controller, and said, that he needed to make a emergency landing, that he was running out of fuel, the traffic controller said he couldn't at the present time. The pilot called back and said then your going to be responsible for the 100 people that i got on board this plane. The controller said 100 people how is that possible? The pilot said let me land, and you will see, I've only got 3 minutes of fuel left. So the airport decided to let him land, they wanted to see 100 people get off of the plane. So he landed and they rushed up the stairs to the plane, and opened the door, and out come these pints size people, all 100 of them. So they ask the pilot where did you get these pint size people, at.
And the pilots said he had picked them up in Texas, and was all Republicans, and this is what they look like after you squeeze all of the bullshit out of them.
Was you on this plane? It certainly sounds like it to me, your full of bullshit, about every issue.

Yes and working for an insurance company you know it saves your company money by murdering the child, it is much cheaper, huh Blew?
Hmmm... I wonder how Many Hillary supporters want BO to lose so she can run in four years?
Sorry about the double post, don't know how that happened.
GIBSON: Can you honestly say you feel confident having someone who hasn’t traveled outside the United States until last year, dealing with an insurgent Russia, with an Iran with nuclear ambitions, with an unstable Pakistan, not to mention the war on terror?
MCCAIN: Sure. And one of the key elements of America’s national security requirements are energy. She understands the energy issues better than anybody I know in Washington, D.C., and she understands. Alaska is right next to Russia. She understands that.
Bahahahahahha...omg...I can't breath....bahahaha...
I was going back and re-reading some of the insulting posts of PalinPwns. Who ever that creature is, is terribly uninformed. They totally fit the republican mode though. Everything they say we are - actually they are. They say we are tax and spend and yet they have almost destroyed this economy with their taxing the middle class and spending money for a made-up war. They call us baby killers but they have no problem with slapping a uniform on a kid and sending off as target practice. They say they are for women but don't support women in their daily lives whether it be equal pay, or a women's health issue to do what is best for a women. I could go on and on but if you re-read PalinPwns post, it is very obvious, he was sent here to cause trouble. Now he might be a paid troll by the RNC - who knows.
But we can take heart with one thing. Reading his posts makes me all the better as a person and a Democrat. I would never consider ever being a Republican. They are starting to become so un-American. It is so sad that people who uphold their thinking don't know any better. We just have to be better then them - and perhaps, maybe a few will see why we are who we are. I wouldn't want it any other way.
"But most importantly, people in America want change. They don’t want somebody from inside the beltway.” --- John McCain
OBAMA, HERE'S YOUR NEXT AD!
Does it bother anyone that BO is okay with letting a baby die that was misaborted?
This just in.... Rudy G was seen sneaking into a bathroom stall with Tom Delay. Sources close to the story can't actually confirm it was Rudy becuase it could have been an imposter "wearing Rudy garments". Sources speculate that it was really Mark Foley and not Rudy as appeared.
He was a HORRIABLE president!

Did you read the history book or just try to look taller by sitting on it and hope to absorb knowledge by process of osmosis? Trust me, it does not work that way.
Go back and read Carter's 50 and 100 year energy plans. Had we invested in the infrastructure and systems that he encouraged, we would not have the current problems and would not be at war in Iraq. He saw all of this coming and tried to prevent it but idiots like you who demand instant gratification were too stupid to see what the future held - even when he walked you through it - step by step.
Why don't you go somewhere that the ignorant venom that you spew is actually appreciated?

They do not care about Obama or the DNC, just whinnying, bitching and blaming others for their crappy lives. I don't know why the DNC keeps this dopey blog up, except to give some of us entertainment.
Did anyone notice how fragile McCain looked last night? I mean seriously, his back is starting to hunch over, and he looked so dam ridged. That's why it's important to have a viable number 2 in command just in case........... Oh.... sorry, bad argument.
Carry on!

The fruits of Carter's history with Iran are even more rotten. Carter's abandonment of the shah in 1977-78 helped lead to the Islamic revolution (and the murder or imprisonment of many of the Iranian leftists who had supported overthrowing the shah), the emboldening of the Soviet Union to invade Afghanistan and the rise of radical Islam worldwide. His botched approach to the Iranian hostage crisis of 1979 inspired Islamic terrorists all over the world, culminating in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
The threat of nuclear war emanating from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad can be seen as another offshoot of Carter's ineffective policies. Predictably, Carter and Zbigniew Brzezinski, his former national security adviser, are now pushing for "direct talks" with Iran. But considering the abject failure of U.N.-brokered negotiations (supported by the Bush administration) thus far, it is difficult to imagine how U.S.-led negotiations would fare any better.
Wherever U.S. interests have been imperiled and a temporary "peace" could be bought at the expense of long-term security, Carter has always been on board. The late Democratic Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan summed it up when he said of Carter in 1980, "Unable to distinguish between our friends and our enemies, he has essentially adopted our enemies' view of the world."

...No one but you is listening to you because you are a moron and the only people more unpopular than George Bush is the democrat controlled congress.
PeePee,
I am sick of this repuke bullshit. Almost every damn thing the Democratic congress passed, asshole chimp vetoed. He had never vetoed a bill before that came from his lock-step congress. Goose step is more like it. Heil Fuhrer!.
Furthermore the Democratic senate did not have enough margin to get a damn thing passed because the 32 asshole repuke senator traitors fixed it so they would have to have 60 votes. So don't give us the lie that the Democratic congress is screwed up. It is only screwed up because of the 32 repuke extremist lock-step assholes blocking everything.
Congress needs to be purged of all neocon assholes and the raygun democrats.
Screw these people.

PROOVE IT! Cite credible sources! (Tip - The Heritage Foundation does not count as a credible source as the 'opinions' of their 4th and 5th tier academics are for sale to the highest bidding neo-con.)
I hope the DNC sent the BIG bouquet of flowers to Gov. Palin this morning. Before she was even done with her speech my Republican, undecided husband turned off the television - having already spent the past fifteen minutes muttering - and announced he had made up his mind - Obama/Biden it is. I, of course, am thrilled.
Palin was smug. She lied (which went down very poorly with my guy). She likened the running of a small town of five thousand to running the federal government! If you listen to the first five minutes of her speech, she even believes that John McCain "won" the Vietnam war. Finally, she was curlishly ungracious in proudly mentioning the service of her own son and nephew but not managing to mention that of Joe Biden's son - something my husband noted that he is confident would not have happened in the reverse. She sounded small and mean and intemperate - just like her pit bull mascot.
My husband has liked McCain in the past but been concerned about his shift to the right and his cozy relationship with the policies that got this country into our current crisis. Equally, my husband has not felt entirely confident about Obama's experience. Last night he made his final decision saying that Obama selected Biden and McCain chose Palin. He feels that Obama selected Biden for Joe's ability to lead this country if need be and McCain selected Palin strictly for political reasons. For him, last night Palin proved that Obama is the right choice.
I was a Hillary supporter and Palin is CERTAINLY no Hillary. I', sticking with my girl and voting Obama.

What is it about all these 'good looking' repukeligan 'babes' that makes them so wicked-witch UGLY? Is it their total lack of concern for the under-privileged, their complete lack of empathy towards other people's pain, their obvious me first ruthless ambitiousness, their aggressive defensiveness towards differing views, the shallowness of their pathetic exultations and accusations, the insincerity of their relationships, or is it simply that deep within the dark recesses of their being they have no heart? I don't know, but the inappropriateness of their choice of what to wear is equal to their abominable political choices.

tylinCA said it earlier. "We as Democrats do things that are for the common good." We must do things as a nation that "float all boats" as Ed Schulz says.
Repukes are selfish and greedy and only help themselves or their rich friends.
Desert:
You need to learn the difference between hard news and op-ed pieces. The article that you cited as a source was a book review that descended into an op-ed. The "OP" in this is short for "OPINION." So, bascially, you pasted a link to a conservative blog whose author has little - if any - credible reputation. You used her opinion to 'shore up' your own 'poor' little opinion.
By the way - Rash Limpballs, O'Liely and all the rest produce op-ed pieces for ENTERTAINMENT. They rarely report real news and when they do, it is their JOB to spin it to the advantage of the neo-conservative movement.
Wake up and smell the coffee. Stop allowing yourself to be brainwashed with drug addicted idiots and - if nothing else - stop posting your garbage here!
Is anyone else concerned that our seaports, tunnels and bridges are just as exposed today to a terrorist threat as they were the day before 911? Rudy-the-cross-dressing-fool-Giuliani has the audacity to lecture us last night regarding safety from a Terrorist threat, yet the Republican controlled White House has done ZERO to reduce the more prominent terrorist threat to Americans today!
That is, another attack on US soil. In fact, with a depleted Military and National Guard we more vulnerable today than Pre-911.
The over 1 Trillion dollars to date that has been spent on a War without cause and with no pending end in site, could have been used to better protect our physical boarders, seaports, bridges and tunnels.

Good afternoon, all.
I don't get this thing Palin is saying: McCain promotes his career to create change.
Isn't he a 26 year Washington Elitist? Didn't he vote with Bush 90% of the time in the last eight years. Hasn't he changed his mind on the few things he had disagreed with Bush?
With a career resume like that McCain should be fired from his job as Senator not be given the keys to the Executive Offices in the White House.
Why isn't it about the lack of career opportunities for the average American citizen during this recession.
Maybe it's because Palin is the Governor of one of the biggest welfare states in the country? Alaska actually has to supplement each person's income by $3,400 a year with oil revenue just to pay for the necessities.
When she was Mayor of that little suburb outside Anchorage, she and her city administrator made annual trips to meet with Washington Elites to get an average of $20 million a year in pork barrel earmarks.
Sarah Palin has shown no problem in asking for government handouts.
Nor dealing directly with Washington Elites for nearly a decade now. Gee, isn't that the same period of time that Bush and McCain were in charge of eight years of unbalanced budgets and our skyrocketing national debt?
Sarah is part of the problem. Who could of guessed?
I would tell you to go fuck yourself, but it is obvious you are already fucked

This is the guy who said I was sterotyping him as redneck trailor trash type? No need to stereo type you, pal. Your very appearance in here, like the rest of the trolls tells what Type of Class you are. Very low class.
I know Republicans. The Republicans I know would not even in their wildest dreams, think of coming into an opposing political blog and getting their rocks off!
You, and the rest of the trolls have made it very very clear what class you are, and it is not a very pretty picture.

You seem to have a problem knowing your own name today, small town dope.
Quit spewing lies about Jimmy Carter. raygun's Iran /Contra scandal led to Carter's downfall. No one in the raygun administration has ever been charged including king bush the first.
The 9/11 attack was a direct result of raygun's interference in the Middle East. How dare that stillwell dame blame it on Carter. raygun policies in the Middle East were a direct result of his stupidity and cheney and king bush the first working behind raygun's back. king bush the last ignored warnings he was given that the saudi arabian terrorists planned an attack with airplanes. bush couldn't care less. He went on vacation.

Pam,
Ignore them when they make personal attacks. It just makes them look desperate to get anyone to read their bile.
I'm off to get groceries. Talk about taking an adventurous trip into the growing Bush recession. Prices just keep climbing and my contract work is bottoming out.
I talked to a couple this weekend who had retired three years ago. They have had to take part-time jobs just to keep up with energy costs.
Everything we have buy now has a built-in energy inflation charge written in when the oil companies decide they want a larger record profit.
Oh, yes. Let's drill ourselves into a bigger dependence on oil.
Haha. It's so funny if you are a Republican. They actually jumped to their feet and had tears of joy running down their cheeks when Palin called American consumers whiners. So, so funny.
It's all about McCain's career not about the consumer.
later.
Palin the Hypocrite, Discriminatory, Socialistic, big government, welfare extended family, single industry taxation, non-Patriotic, and un-American spend happy x-tian riech! Let us explore each one of my points and review Palin’s history and pattern of behavior!
1) Palin eloped to marry at 24. Daughter getting knocked up at 16 and having a baby at 17. Hypocrite Palin is the epitome of inappropriate behavior and non-abstinence. The major city in USA are have horrific issues with republican dumping of their own mentally retarded and emotionally-mentally damaged children and adults into their inner city infrastructure. Unplanned underage pregnancy is a certainty of poverty existence for mother and child in most American cities and a financial burden on our social infrastructure. Palin has preached abstinence when she and her daughter did not practice abstinence. At 40 years of age she decided not to practice abstinence or protected sex and produced a retarded child. Every medical journal state having a child over 40 have very high probability of producing a genetically damaged child. It was not “God” who had unprotected sex; it was she and her husband ill-responsible action, with a pregnancy fetish, they decided to take off her cloth and have unprotected sex and did not abstained then produced a retarded child! Then she had the audacity to cut funding to the average person in Alaska and teen mothers. Here is her line item veto in her hand writing. If Palin's retarded child is track throughout life to adulthood; that child will become a ward of the state and a welfare case; because this is the pattern of behavior by republicans. Palin will dump her own adult child to preserve her finances, abrogate her responsibility and dump her ill-responsible debt on society. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/09/02/palin_slashed_funding_to_help.html
2) Palin practice discriminatory distribution of state tax funds. Palin, her extended families are all government employees or contracted to work with the government and or funding by government. Therefore her cuttings of funding for underprivileged teen mothers are nothing more than discrimination against those not within her x-tian reich circles! When one look at the state of Alaska with one of the largest employer being government and/or government contractors; she is running a Socialistic Big Government Welfare Extended Family that practice discrimination. How else can Palin explain her $6,600,000,000.00 spending budget in a state with only 640 thousand people, spend $40,000 per family (4) when the per capita income of the state is only $54 thousand? Please perform a simple math on the state of Alaska tax revenue. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alaska
3) Palin has no experience handling a diversified income stream of most states; Alaska is a mono-industry tax revenue surplus state in which she practice discriminatory distribution of funds based on her x-tian reich inner circle. She has no experience with diversity in industry or people in our United States of America.
4) Palin is non-Patriotic and un-American in support for Alaska succession from the United States of America when she joined the Alaska Independent Party. How can you support succession of Alaska from United States and call yourself patriotic or American?
5) Palin and all the republicans during this week’s speech literally plagiarized and lifted entire passages from Hitler, Hemmler, Goring’s speeches and Mien Kampf. They may have altered a few of the verbs and adjectives to soften the message but the content is a direct lifting of passages. Palin and the republican party are the x-tian riech! “Positive Christianity” before country, Socialistic, selective discrimination, nationalistic are all attributes of Palin’s selection as Vice President makes her an x-tian reich!! Please review Hitler, Hemmer, Goring and Mien Kampf then overlay the republican party speech content of passages onto the Nazi party speeches and philosophy; they mirrors each other!!

Attacks, praise stretch truth at GOP convention
By JIM KUHNHENN, Associated Press Writer
Wed Sep 3, 11:48 PM ET
Alaska Gov.
MCCAIN: "She's been governor of our largest state, in charge of 20 percent of America's energy supply ... She's responsible for 20 percent of the nation's energy supply. I'm entertained by the comparison and I hope we can keep making that comparison that running a political campaign is somehow comparable to being the executive of the largest state in America," he said in an interview with ABC News' Charles Gibson.
THE FACTS: McCain's phrasing exaggerates both claims. Palin is governor of a state that ranks second nationally in crude oil production, but she's no more "responsible" for that resource than President Bush was when he was governor of Texas, another oil-producing state. In fact, her primary power is the ability to tax oil, which she did in concert with the Alaska Legislature. And where Alaska is the largest state in America, McCain could as easily have called it the 47th largest state — by population.
MCCAIN: "She's the commander of the Alaska National Guard. ... She has been in charge, and she has had national security as one of her primary responsibilities," he said on ABC.
THE FACTS: While governors are in charge of their state guard units, that authority ends whenever those units are called to actual military service. When guard units are deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, for example, they assume those duties under "federal status," which means they report to the Defense Department, not their governors. Alaska's national guard units have a total of about 4,200 personnel, among the smallest of state guard organizations.
FORMER ARKANSAS GOV. MIKE HUCKABEE: Palin "got more votes running for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska than Joe Biden got running for president of the United States."
THE FACTS: A whopper. Palin got 616 votes in the 1996 mayor's election, and got 909 in her 1999 re-election race, for a total of 1,525. Biden dropped out of the race after the Iowa caucuses, but he still got 76,165 votes in 23 states and the District of Columbia where he was on the ballot during the 2008 presidential primaries.
FORMER MASSACHUSETTS GOV. MITT ROMNEY: "We need change, all right — change from a liberal Washington to a conservative Washington! We have a prescription for every American who wants change in Washington — throw out the big-government liberals, and elect John McCain and Sarah Palin."
THE FACTS: A Back-to-the-Future moment. George W. Bush, a conservative Republican, has been president for nearly eight years. And until last year, Republicans controlled Congress. Only since January 2007 have Democrats have been in charge of the House and Senate.
I'm posting this for my candidate, Larry Jones, Democratic candidate for Florida House District 19.
Larry's Republican opponent is so entwined in the local Republican Party cronyism that he might as well be a "recycle" politician. He now expects to collect on a big favor the Republican Party currently owes him, and he expects to be elected to the Florida House. By his own confession, Larry's opponent even aspires to be Speaker of the Florida House by 2014!
While this opponent was in charge of the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission, a real estate investor ran off without doing Riverwalk work he agreed to do at the Shipyards development. This opponent's reaction as the man in charge: "Oops, I was too busy doing something else, so I didn't follow up and NO, I DIDN'T EVEN LOOK OUT MY OFFICE WINDOW AT MY DIRECT VIEW OF THE PROJECT." The developer made off with $36 million in taxpayer money, and he got away with it.
This man is a good example of why voters want to get rid of the "status quo" politics based on favoritism, cronyism, and secret budget and legislative manipulations. Voters are voting out the "status quo" politicians in large numbers, and we've already tasted some good victories here in Northeast Florida. We have a real chance to change Florida from red to blue.
However, the national Democratic campaigns are attracting so much of the campaign resources these days, the local and state campaigns are finding it difficult to run successful campaigns.
We need all you Democrats to pitch in and help your fellow Democrats!!! Please go to www.ElectLarryJones.com and check out Larry's positions. Then click on the Action or Donate tab, and send a Donation to his campaign!! He will really appreciate your help!! Larry Jones, Democratic candidate for Florida House District 19.

Oh, so you did not see...I was not referring to Hillary Clinton as a hot babe although she is a beautiful woman inside and out with a brilliant accomplished educated mind respected by most good citizens across this country. I was answering someone who had referred to Palin as a hot babe and I was referring to my example video of Cher performing Gypsies, Tramps and Theives some years ago when in her prime to show that Repugs do not have a monopoly on trailer trash (another blogger's comment) or women's social issues.
However, between Leiberliar and Palin's phoney kiss butt speech, we all see what turncoat means when we read about this secessionist group Palin and Hubby were involved in while in Alaska awhile ago! Here is your loyal All American perfect candidate for VP chosen by the wise McBush&Co.at the last minute not very vetted, again caught red handed!!! For all to see:

"Do I believe my eyes? Are there actually so called Americans in this thread who agree or excuse these acts of a traitor? Let's not molly coddle this. The AKIP has as their strategy the infiltration of main stream parties in order to advance their position. Sedition! I mean I knew Obama was being compared to Lincoln, but is his opposition party truly advocating the disolution of our great country. for a gaffe Michelle Obama was crucified in the press, and here we have a card carrying traitor to this county who wouldnt allow his special needs son to be born in Texas for fear of it not being Alaskan.

This is the second or perhaps third major infraction that is serious enough to disqualify this candidate, and if not, we will have to veto this "xena of the war party" with a landslide of DEM votes to save our country from hypnotized Repugs that just do not get it and are horribly fooled by their idol worship.

A typical egotistical self centered bigotted bourgeois repug perspective for sure. There is a difference between the proletariat and lumpen proletariat. The goal is to irradicate polarized class distinction and create a broadbased middle working class with a humanitarian safety net for the ill, elderly, orphaned and destitute to be kind to others, to keep away misery and disease, to keep the peace and prevent revolution in a capitalist society. Not to lord it up and yaya digmebaby standing on the shoulders of those who got you to your wonderful luxurious condo or wherever you manicure your pretty toenails with the profits off the money they make. Go take some social theory.
