Vote for Change

Posted by Matt Ortega on September 27, 2008 at 04:08 PM

Register your friends and family, turnout the vote on November 4 for the change we need. And in case you needed more motivation...

The stakes couldn't be higher at a critical time in our lives and our nation's history.

yep video says it all ...yet dnc knows the toss up stakes will make the difference. i'd assume besides ads targeting those states, registration drives are still underway... and most importantly will obama supporters actually get to the polls? absentee is the way i go. driving those unable to the polls, maybe carpools too, and more importantly, phone calls to registered demos to remind them. i'm sure this is part of the 50 state strategy...and hopefully in the toss up states a the highest priority. there's a difference between a 55% turnout vs an 80% or higher turnout. my 2 cents.

I was curious about McCain height comment during the debate so I did some research since I figured he made it up. Ironically, I did find a study from 2006 that talks about the height differences. Apparently, he was making a factual statement.

I don't think this video should be on TV. It might make people think that it's OK if this happens and warm them to the idea. Take it down, NOW!

I agree with newsjunkie, if this was a video of Sarah Palin I might think it's a clever ad. Otherwise, it sucks! Who thought this would be motivating, after we've lost to poor republican candidates with much better democratic candidates the last two elections, in razor thin elections?

I agree with newsjunkie, this just reminds us of the last two elections in which demos lost to inferior candidates, and here's the mess we're in because of it. If this video showed Palin, it might be a different story, otherwise JUNK THIS THING, IT SUCKS!

There are too many people out there, like those who listen to Rush Limgaugh daily for their talking and listening points, who will get a very different visceral reaction to this thing!

Oops, didn't intend to post twice, sorry! Just another malfunction at the demo blog junction.

So? This ad isn't AIMED at them. Those people AREN'T voting for Obama mo matter WHAT ad is on TV. YOu probably couldn't get them to vote for Obama is McCain had tried to KILL him at the debate. This ad is for those people who think it doesn't make a difference for whom they vote.

Not only do I carry Voter registration cards, which I have used frequently, but the other night at my daughter's house, I was talking to one of her friends. You know the type. She is mid 30's, raising kids, running them here and there, working, keeping up a house.

She asked me who I was voting for, and I told Obama. She said she liked him best too. So I said you are going to vote for him, right? She said she had never registered in her life, because "she never felt she knew enough about politics to go and vote".
Well, I filled in a lot of info on what the Republicans had gotten us into, and how important it was to her kids to vote Democrat, and she is going to Town Hall on Monday morning to register for the first time. I was riding with someone else, so did not have my file of forms, but I got her heated up.

It is these people that we have to hit, too. There are a lot of them. You know those soccer/hockey Moms they talk about are not all avid Political junkies. A lot not even registered !

pamb,

that's my point above... there's a step from saying i like obama vs i'll vote obama vs I'LL WILL SHOW UP TO VOTE FOR OBAMA-BIDEN COME HELL OR HIGH WATER!

that makes a difference between 55% vs an 80% or higher turnout.

that's my 2 bits (for you young folks out there that means 25 cents)
