90% Believe U.S. on Wrong Track

According to the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll, 90 percent of Americans believe the country is on the wrong track -- the highest ever recorded since the question was first asked 35 years ago.
Given the global economic crisis, a record 90 percent of registered voters say the country is seriously off on the wrong track, the most since this question first was asked in 1973. At 23 percent, Bush's job approval rating has fallen below Nixon's lowest; it's a point away from the lowest in 70 years of polling, set by Harry Truman in early 1952. Bush's disapproval, meanwhile, is at an all-time record -- 73 percent.
To much of the dismay of the McCain team, this was not the year to be running the "more of the same" campaign.

The problem with Obama is his environmental policies that are killing the economy. companies are leaving America becasue of the environmental regulations. The EPA and Obama's restriction are so expensive it is better for the companies to move other countries. Obama's environmental regulations act as a severe tax that cripples American industry.
Obama wants the price of gas to be $10 a gallon so that no one will drive their cars and emit green house gasses. However, raising the cost of gas will destoy travel in America, he will also destroy businesses and the economy. Our economy runs on gas. Obama would rather save the environment than save the economy it is a simple tradeoff jobs or the evironment. In Obama's calculations he believes that man made polution is the cause of the co^2 emmisions, but completely ignores the co^2 emmissions cause by wildfires that dwarf man made sources of polution.
Keep in mind that china's poluting factories are full of workers while we have no factories becasue of our environmental restrictions.
McCain's campaign promises more of the same for the country that Bush has given us the last eight years. He is a "maverick" who is allowing himself to be manipulated by the same right wing handlers who have governed through George Bush. His economic advisers, who promote deregulation, continue to be out of the Phil Gramm mold, including Gramm himself. His campaign is as negative as the worse of Karl Rove's past campaigns. His campaign chairs represent the same firms he assails in his phony populist speeches. His campaign is funded by big oil and the weatlthiest, elitist, in our country. His closest advisers represent the worst of the CEOs he "blaims" for the economic crisis, like Carley Fiorina and her $42M golden parachute.
His populist speeches aside, he promises tax reform, health care and social security reform that his own conservative colleagues would not allow to succeed, they are simply false promises. Republicans want small government, fewer and less costly safety net programs; that's it.
His "country first" slogan is not legitimate, all we need for evidence is his choice of Sarah Palin. When in our history has a political party shown such concern over a candidate's lack of experience and native intellect that they've thrown a blanket over our country's ability to question her in an unscripted public forum? She has no honest experince for the VP job, has had ethical lapses during her brief tenure as governor, has fringe right wing morality judgement. Perhaps worse of all she has proven herself to have little knowledge of wordly issues and has difficulty expressing herself extemporaneously on serious national political issues. This is not someone we can trust to competently handle the role of VP, much less President, but would serve as excellent fodder for the late night comedians.
Look in the Washington Post and New York Times Tues, Oct 14 2008 for an article
A CLARION CALL TO REBUILD AMERICA
THE CREATION OF A PROVISIONAL FEDERAL BANK.
The Author Lynn Tilton has it correct and has the know how and experience to straighten this financial mess out. Any Obama insiders who see this or if you are higher up in the chain pass this along. Her mind needs to be tapped when the new Prez Obama, takes office.
13 cars and 8 houses...
i'd say for john mccain he's a member of that 10% club that's doing just fine.
