DNC Releases New Web Video "Stand Up"

October 13, 2008

The Democratic National Committee released a new web video called "Stand Up" that compares John McCain's call today for voters to "stand up" and help send him to the White House today with his call for voters to "stand up" and help reelect President Bush in 2004. The video comes on the same day McCain tried to "reset" his erratic and flailing campaign by returning to his 2004 convention speech, in which he famously called on Americans to "stand up with our President."

After helping keep George W. Bush in the White House in 2004, McCain became one of his most loyal rubberstamps in Congress. McCain hit the road with the President to promote his risky scheme to privatize Social Security, joined President Bush in championing a deregulatory agenda that helped create the current economic crisis and stood shoulder to shoulder with the President on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. McCain even voted to support President Bush's agenda 95 percent of the time in 2007.

Now, McCain wants voters to stand up for four more years of the same failed policies and flawed politics by sending John McCain to the White House.
