Good evening, all.
Are you watching T. Bone Pickins on MSNBC lying his way through another interview? He was the jerk who financed the Swiftboating of John Kerry and now doesn't see anything like that going on with the new McCain strategy?
And when he says Palin has more credibility on energy than any of the other candidates you know he's spinning for the Republicans. Palin is hawking a new natural gas pipeline in Alaska.
Pickins has been pushing natural gas ever since he figured out that oil has become a liability. I love how he talks about wind power but all his investments are in coal and gas.
The GOP is pulling out all the stops using as many of the lizards and snakes as they can. Who will crawl out from under a rock next?

Do you really want to see all the Honors Obama achieved in college compared to McCain's fourth from the bottom ranking at the Naval Academy?
Since you opened up this line of inquiry, when is John McCain going to release his medical records and Cindy McCain release the family tax returns? Did the McCain convert their American dollars to Euros last year while the rest of us are stuck with those worthless IOUs?
How did you like the Washington Post account of how McCain destroyed five Navy Jets during his career? He said that he was just "clowning around" when he caused that international incident in Spain.
That's presidential?
God bless the American people and save us from the Republican incompetents.
No I just posted some facts, not off of a right or left wing web site.

I post my source and link. You just make stupid statements. It makes all your accusations that less credible.
And I usually post links that in turn refer to MSM sources for their information. I'm open about where I'm coming from.
When are you going to come clean on where you are getting you rumors and one liners?

It's called capitalism. He wrote two books and people with free will chose to buy his books, therefore he made a lot of money.
McCain on the other hand is kept by his wife in luxury, with her daddy's money from a beer distributorship. That's why cindy dresses in $300,000 dollar outfits when people are loosing their homes in droves, she just doesn't get it.
Barack earned his money, McCain lives off of his wife's money that her daddy earned and left to her. Johnnie is a kept man, yes cindy, whatever you say cindy. Cindy, can I have some money to go to the store? He's disgusting.

McCain Plans Federal Health Cuts
Medicare, Medicaid Spending Would Be Reduced to Offset Proposed Tax Credit
By LAURA MECKLER
John McCain would pay for his health plan with major reductions to Medicare and Medicaid, a top aide said, in a move that independent analysts estimate could result in cuts of $1.3 trillion over 10 years to the government programs.
The Republican presidential nominee has said little about the proposed cuts, but they are needed to keep his health-care plan "budget neutral," as he has promised. The McCain campaign hasn't given a specific figure for the cuts, but didn't dispute the analysts' estimate.
In the months since Sen. McCain introduced his health plan, statements made by his campaign have implied that the new tax credits he is proposing to help Americans buy health insurance would be paid for with other tax increases.
But Douglas Holtz-Eakin, Sen. McCain's senior policy adviser, said Sunday that the campaign has always planned to fund the tax credits, in part, with savings from Medicare and Medicaid. Those government health-care programs serve seniors, poor families and the disabled. Medicare spending for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30 is estimated at $457.5 billion.
Mr. Holtz-Eakin said the Medicare and Medicaid changes would improve the programs and eliminate fraud, but he didn't detail where the cuts would come from. "It's about giving them the benefit package that has been promised to them by law at lower cost," he said...
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122315505846605217.html#
(Emphasis mine.)
When is McCain going to release what these cuts are and who will be affected? Seniors, poor families, and/or the disabled?

Why can't the DNC file a similar motion to look into McCain's contribution list?
As I recall, McCain made several trips to Europe after the GOP primary was determined to attend fund raisers. Were all of those people giving to him American ex-patriots? Who were the multinationals and lobbyists who attended? Did the President of Georgia contribute to McCain's war chest?

It would be naive to believe there will not be a Bradley effect. Racism is not dead yet, as evidenced by the day to day affairs and policy decision of the GOP, but, I promise you, it is dying and we Democrats will make that death as painful and public as possible.

In the Rolling Stone Story on John McCain, McSame wanted to do away with the Dept. of Education and the Dept. of Energy.
I guess McSame was just like the typical rich republican, let the little guy pay for the military while we keep all of our money. Who cares if they get educated, we can afford private, public education is an entitlement to MCSame. Then when he lost to bush in 2000 he thought he would become a "maverick" to appear to be against Bush and for the American people. Then when 911 happened McCain realized he would not be able to win against a War Pres, since McCain wanted and cheered and lied for the Invasion of Iraq. It was then that he returned to his real self, voting with bush 90% of the time.
Bottom line, everything John McCain has ever done was for John McCain and John McCain only.
Now isn't this a shame! Bradley or no Bradley, McCain on the losing end of it all!
remember this tomorrow night, Dems!
Debate stakes higher for McCain as insults mount
WASHINGTON - Running short on time, John McCain has the most riding on the second presidential debate, though Barack Obama will be out of his scripted comfort zone in the town hall-style confrontation. It could be ugly if Monday's tussling is any indication.
Tuesday night's debate comes exactly four weeks before Election Day with a lot going on both inside and outside the campaign: Polling shows Obama approaching the 270 Electoral College votes needed for victory, Wall Street is tumbling even further and both candidates are escalating character attacks.p>
McCain, a four-term Arizona senator, is trailing in polls and facing dwindling options to thwart Democrat Obama in an enormously troublesome political landscape for Republicans. Obama, the first-term Illinois senator, wants to solidify his lead and avoid any major debate misstep that could set him back in his quest to become the country's first black president.
Generally, the stakes in this are higher for McCain," said Phil Musser, a former executive director of the Republican Governors Association. "It's probably one of the last and most important opportunities for him to lay out an economic vision that resonates with middle America in a format that lends itself to doing just that."
(OH NO! GASP!.......)But Republicans and Democrats alike say even a strong McCain performance may not be enough.
>"McCain can win the debate, but the trajectory of this election would not be fundamentally altered unless Obama also made a pretty dramatic and serious mistake," said Chris Lehane, a Democratic strategist in Vice President Al Gore's 2000 campaignhttp://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/debate_stakes
Good night fellow Democrats. Keep the Faith and keep the faith. The populist revolution has begun!

The DNC filed suit in june to compel the FEC to investigate McCains decision to withdraw from the FEC's matching funds program after using it to profit his campaign.
"John McCain talks about setting a new standard for "transparency and accountability" yet when it comes to his campaign, he doesn't seem to think the rules apply to him. First, he used taxpayer dollars to secure a loan to keep his campaign afloat in the primary, a move that's clearly against the law. Then the Wall Street Journal reported that McCain refused to pay for his campaign's use of a corporate jet - again against the law - and last week, his trip to Canada came under question for possible violations of federal law."
I guess the media just sort of forgot about it, damn "liberal media bias"!

OMG, READ THIS ONE, FOLKS!
(complete with pictures !!!)McCain Palin Rally vs. Obama Biden Rally in Anchorage! The Blow by Blow.
Once again, there were duelling rallies here in Anchorage. The McCain-Palin rally was held in the just-completed Dena’ina Convention Center in downtown Anchorage. The Obama rally was held outside, just a couple blocks away, at the Delaney Park Strip.
One would think that the Republican rally celebrating the hometown girl, in her very very red state would have drawn a huge crowd, and that the Obama rally would be a few brave intrepid souls with a couple signs shivering by the side of the road. One would be wrong.
The Obama rally was all set up and running when I arrived - tents, face painting, t-shirt sales, voter registration, postcard writing to swing states, a huge stage and sound system. By 1:00, there were more than a thousand people milling around with signs, kids, dogs and huge smiles. This was definitely a feel-good place. Hundreds lined the roadside waving signs to appreciative honking motorists, and hundreds more milled around the tent area. Anchorage mayoral candidate and former legislator Eric Croft got up and spoke, so did Kat Pustay who’s heading up the Obama campaign in the state. Then came Ethan Berkowitz, Democratic candidate for the U.S. House seat currently held by Don Young. Ethan welcomed his “fellow revolutionaries”. The crowd went wild.
I looked at my watch. It was after 1:30 and I knew if I didn’t get to the McCain Palin rally soon, I’d never go. So I ripped myself away from all the positive energy and the fresh air, and hurried over to the Dana’ina Center. 3 people stood outside waving signs. I figured I had to smile, so I did. “Come on in, we’re having a rally!” one of them effused. I took a big cleansing breath, and in I went.
I just had a feeling this rally wasn’t going to have as big a crowd as the Obama rally, because the rally that was held for Palin herself, when she was in Anchorage a few weeks ago only had about 500 people show up. But I walked into the room and I really was stunned. I felt like I had entered an empty chair convention. It was really bad. I actually felt sorry for the organizers for a minute, before I snapped myself out of it. A head count yielded about 250-300 people. Clearly they had been hoping for more.

It appears that both mccain and palin are rabid anti-semites. Talk about domestic terrorists.
Palin schedule shows McCain on the defensive?
(CNN) — The McCain campaign announced Sarah Palin is set to make a stop in North Carolina Tuesday night, two days after the Republican VP candidate stumped in Nebraska — two reliably red states that haven't voted for a Democratic presidential candidate in at least three decades.
Palin's most recent travel schedule is the latest indication Barack Obama and the nation's ailing economy have put John McCain on the defensive, even in states where the prospect of a Democratic win was unthinkable only four years ago.
Heather Mallick, an opinion columnist for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s Web site, is known for her use of humorous exaggeration. But last week after removing a column by Ms. Mallick, which said that Gov. Sarah Palin has “a toned-down version of the porn actress look” and suggested that Republican men were sexually inadequate, the government-owned CBC ruled that its opinion writers had to stick to the facts even when they were joking around.
Was she joking?
About what?
When the McCain campaign announced this weekend that it would start attacking Sen. Barack Obama via guilt by association, peddling smears about people he barely knows, I thought the tack would lead to the Keating Five. But I didn’t know it would happen this quickly.
The Obama campaign swung into action immediately. By the time the Sunday news shows were taping, Democratic surrogates were hitting McCain with opposition research on his associations with extremist, racist groups (Begala) and the Keating Five (Emanuel). Today, of course, camp Obama is pushing a new Keating Economics website, which begins streaming a documentary about McCain’s Keating problem at noon.
Obama’s campaign has never pushed the Keating button before, so this attack carries an original punch–and is clearly salient given the current financial crisis. Because the scandal involved McCain’s actions in public service, it is more likely to arise during the remaining two debates.
McCain’s dredging up of Bill Ayers, in contrast, is not only old news but has no link to anything Obama has done in public life. Patrick Ruffini, a Republican operative who worked on Bush’s reelection campaign, said today that McCain’s Ayers attacks are so old that airing them now “appears desperate.”
Republican operative thinks McCain is getting desperate?
Jesus could very well have been a man of color.

Hey, did you see that story on Olberman tonight where he reported that some McCain aide said McCain had foreign policy experience in the Southern Hemisphere...because he had an affair with a South American pin up girl back in 1959?
No lie. You can't make this stuff up. These McCain people are a bunch of comedians...but nobody is laughing anymore but the bigots.
I feel sorry for conservatives like Elisabeth Hasselbeck on the "The View" who are always having to defend all the dumb things McCain and Palin say and do.

2 Samuel 16:11-12

The Republicans are desperate and are betting everything on this election.
The Republicans are setting themselves as an angry party of racists.
Their desperate attempt to turn this election of poltical smearing will backfire under all possible outcomes.
If Obama/Biden wins the Republicans will have no more clout with minorities and the majority of Americans who know better than to believe their lies.
And even if McCain/Palin wins, there will be no escape from their campaign tactics, and no substitute for their incompetence and unqualified abilities.
Right now, McCain and Palin are showing their true colors.
They are desperate to win this election, if they weren't they wouldn't need to smear Obama.
But they are desperate and they are doing everything to smear Obama because talking about the issues isn't something they know how to do.
Rasmussen Reports (FOX News) Has More McCain Friendly Polls But...

VA Rass 10/5 50% 48%
MO Rass 10/5 50% 47%
CO Rass 10/5 51% 45%
Rasmussen Reports has some McCain friendly polling results released today. They suggest that Virginia is within the margin of error despite two other polls that show Obama ahead by double digits. They have Ohio pegged as a dead heat despite the fact that Obama is widely considered to be about 5% ahead -- which is about where ABC has the race (Obama +6%).
The Rasmussen Reports polls were sponsored by FOX News. So viewers of FOX News will be given a "slightly" different angle on what Obama's momentum really is in these battleground states (FL, OH, VA, MO, CO).
But here is the biggest caveat to all of that McCain friendly talk. Rasmussen Reports' polls would still crown Obama as our next president by about 150 electoral votes.

I agree.
This political smear campaign from McCain and Palin is only temporary and cyclical in nature.
The tide will turn and the harsh and desperate rhetoric that Palin and McCain are currently engaging with will forever taint what's left of the Republican Party as a extremist fringe party with no political credibility.
McCain and Palin have bet all political odds of them winning this election on the hope that the majority of Americans or at least the majority of the electorate are racists and don't want an African American man as president.
Many moderates have already left the Republican Party.
The only ones left are the ones that easily succumb to racially tinged and emotionally charged smears.
It's a bet that McCain and Palin have staked their political careers on.
Imagine if Palin and McCain loses,
how will the majority of Americans view them?
how will minorities and people of color view them?
will anyone ever take them seriously ever again?
McCain and Palin are engaging in a policy of scorching the earth with reckless abandon. And they aren't calculating the future reprecussions. They are only living for Nov 4.
As far as whether they win the election, that's simple.
They will then have to prove that they actually can get anything done. And that's something they will have to prove with their actions and their smear tactics will not be a sufficient substitute.
Obama claims that he didn't throw the first punch, but he intends to throw the last one.
What Palin and McCain don't realize is that Obama isn't the only who didn't throw the first punch and Obama isn't the only one who intends to throw the last one.
The racist elements cut both ways.
McCain and Palin are opening up a pandoras box that they and Republican extremists will have to deal with in due time.
Give the extreme right-wing Republicans their rope.
And wait for them to hang themselves.
Eventually they will.
In the Rolling Stone Story on John McCain, McSame wanted to do away with the Dept. of Education and the Dept. of Energy.
Gee wiz, Fellow Maverick John.
Those are the two departments that I could help out with the most. You better reconsider or I might have to move into your areas of expertise, the economy and those places where the Sunni/Shiite people live.

Well, he's toast now, isn't he? I don't think you could find anybody in the country who would spare him a dime.
It's Over: Why Bill Ayers Won't Save John McCain
Oh wait, its not eight years ago, it is present!
Perpetually fretting Democrats will not want to accept it. The campaigns themselves can't afford to believe it. Many journalists know it but can't say it. And there will certainly be some twists and turns along the way. But take it to a well capitalized bank: Bill Ayers isn't going to save John McCain. The race is over.
John McCain's candidacy is as much a casualty of Wall Street as Lehman or Merrill. Like those once vibrant institutions, McCain's collapse was stunning and quick. One minute you are a well-respected brand. The next you are yelling at the messengers of your demise as all around you the numbers start blinking red and stop adding up.
McCain's road was difficult to begin with: the President of his party has had record-low approval ratings for two years and the number of Americans who say the country is heading in the wrong direction is stratospheric. He also had the misfortune to be pitted against an exceptional candidate running an extremely well-executed campaign.
Still, before Wall Street's collapse Senator McCain was ahead. His approval ratings remained high, his VP pick had generated excitement and interest, and his campaign operatives were capable, on any given day, of winning news cycles and giving their opponents fits. And then the underpinnings of American capitalism begin to sink -- and with them sunk McCain.
An election dominated at its inception by the war in Iraq is now overwhelmingly focused on the economy. More than half of voters in polls say that the economy is their top concern and Senator Obama enjoys double digit leads among voters asked who can better fix our economic mess. Put simply, there is no way Senator McCain can win if he continues to trail Senator Obama by double digits on the top concern of more than half of voters.
State polls are beginning to reflect this. If the election were tomorrow, Obama would win all of the states John Kerry carried and add Iowa, New Mexico, Colorado, Virginia, Nevada, Ohio and Florida. Barack Obama is campaigning in Indiana, which last went for a Democrat in 1964 and North Carolina, which has gone for a Democrat only once in thirty-four years. At the same time John McCain has pulled out of Michigan and Sarah Palin has been forced to visit Nebraska.
This dynamic is very unlikely to change. John McCain's goal in the first debate was to discredit Senator Obama as a credible Commander in Chief and elevate the issue of foreign policy and national security. He didn't come close. Absent a domestic terror attack the economy will remain the number one issue in the race, and there is little Senator McCain can do to make up his gap with Senator Obama on it. Oh, Senator McCain will try to make issues of Bill Ayers and Tony Rezko and Rev. Wright, and that might hurt Senator Obama around the margins -- but it will not prevent him from winning. The economy is simply bigger than the rogues gallery that John McCain is conjuring up.
Why is this? Why won't the swiftboat tactics work this year?
Its easy to lose sight of it in the day to day coverage, but the collapse of Wall Street in the last weeks was a seminal event in the history of our nation and our politics. To put the crisis in perspective, Americans have lost a combined 1 trillion dollars in net worth in just the last four weeks alone. Just as President Bush's failures in Iraq undermined his party's historic advantage on national security issues, the financial calamity has shown the ruinous implications of the Republican mania for deregulation and slavish devotion to totally unfettered markets.
Republicans and Democrats have been arguing over the proper role of government for a century. In 1980 voters sided with Ronald Reagan and Republicans that government had become too big and intrusive. Then the economy worked in the Republicans' favor. Today the pendulum has swung in our direction. Republican philosophies have been discredited by events. Voters understand this. This is a big election about big issues. McCain's smallball will not work. This race will not be decided by lipsticked pigs. And John McCain can not escape that reality. The only unknowns are the size of the margin and the breadth of the Democratic advantage in the next Congress.
All of the spinning and predicting doesn't replace the fact that McCain and Palin have staked their political careers on smear tactics against political opponents rather than create viable solutions to America's problems.
If McCain and Palin win the election how will they govern with only a small minority of racists who truly back them.
The independents who were fooled into voting for them will certainly depend on their leadership.
And everyone else will want nothing to do with them.
The only ones left are the ones that easily succumb to racially tinged and emotionally charged smears.
StewartT on October 6, 2008 at 10:02 PM
Or those like Elisabeth Hasselbeck who have enough money that they can afford to live in denial.
The fundies who attend those big box churches which promise you financial rewards in this life if you follow their strict/narrow views of brotherly love are the real losers in this election.
They gave up drinking, dancing, smoking, and their right to contraceptives for this economic meltdown? They would have been a lot better off if they had been tolerant and respectful of other Christians' views.
They thought they had all the Answers when all they had was their own prejudices and greed which the Bush Crime Family manipulated to perfection.

The pendulum has indeed swung back in our direction and hit McCain squarely on the head. It still hasn't registered with him that the world has tilted away from what we've all considered normal since the WW II.
I expect McCain to perform another one of those mavericky stunts tomorrow night that no one will get. I'm thinking that his lack of a sense of humor will get him into trouble, too.
Obama should change his strategy entirely in this debate and throw the old coot off. The look of confusion and McCain's reliance on stock phrases and weird facial expressions will do the rest.

Or perhaps it will be a question from some one in the Town Hall, push his button. Like all ready happen, when the young man ask McNuts, if he thought he would live through his first term.
And old Johnny Boy, said thanks for the question, YOU LITTLE JERK! Looking very mean, and probably would of cussed him out, if it had not been a Town Hall.
Old Man McNuts, knows everything is on the Line for him in this Debate, and he will be under pressure, and he don't perform very well under pressure, as we all know. He just might completely blow a gasket, in this debate.

On the heels of a McCain supporter yelling that Obama was a "terrorist" today - and McCain said nothing in response to admonish the supporter - the Washington Post reports (via ThinkProgress) that a Palin supporter at one of her rallies today yelled for Obama to be assassinated after Palin, again, told the lie that some of Obama's best friends are terrorists:
"Now it turns out, one of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers," Palin said.
"Boooo!" said the crowd.
"And, according to the New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, 'launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol,'" she continued.
"Boooo!" the crowd repeated.
"Kill him!" proposed one man in the audience.
Palin went on to say that "Obama held one of the first meetings of his political career in Bill Ayers's living room, and they've worked together on various projects in Chicago."
Palin went on?
Just like she did when speakers at her church said that terrorist attacks against Israelis were "God's judgment" for Jews having the audacity not to embrace Christianity. Just like she did when a visiting witch doctor at her church lamented the fact that, as he claimed, Jews control the banking industry and that's why Wall Street is so corrupt.
Not a word from Sarah Palin when her supporters talk of killing Barack Obama. Not a word from Sarah Palin when her own church talks of the propriety of launching terrorist attacks against Jews in Israel.
In one day, McCain's supporters are so enraged by McCain's new rhetoric, calling Obama an un-American terrorist sympathizer, that McCain's supporters are now labeling Obama himself a "terrorist" and calling for him to be killed.
And McCain has no problem with this. Nor does Sarah Palin.

McCain would probably like to do it himself. Nobody rains on egotist John McCain's parade.

I feel sorry for Hasselbeck. Her true colors have really come out.
Her arguments are incoherent.
I watched a clip of her tirade and the only thing I got out of it was,
Hasselbeck believes that Obama is a terrorist.
Hasselbeck believes that the American voter should take McCain and Palin seriously.
And Hasselbeck doesn't want to discuss the real issues.
For Hasslbeck and the average Republican apologist, which is less than 20% of Americans, the issues aren't the issue. Character is the issue. And more specifically Obama's character is the issue.
Hasselbeck neglects to argue the issues.
Hasselbeck neglects to argue McCain or Palin's character.
Hasselbeck even goes so far as assuming that McCain and Palin's attacks against Obama's character don't address the issue.
And even worse, Hasselbeck assumes McCain and Palin's attacks are substantiated.
Hasselbeck's view is not that of a loyal right-wing apologist whose political motivations are predictable along line of the Republican right-wing agenda.
Oh Yeah, Here We go. Just what I have been waiting for and it's about time! Super Olberman to the rescue! :D
A must see - Watch and enjoy this one on Palin being Palin...

These issues have nothing to do about "left" or "right". A criminal is a criminal is a criminal, and is always outside of the laws set and agreed upon by the polis of a civilized, peaceful and orderly society where trust allows freedom to flourish.
People Trust Yourselves! That is what we were created as a country to do! These issues are simply about right and wrong; and in this case, this time, it's so very clear, so very factually, undeniably clear, People of America... that the Democrats are beyond any doubt to anyone with eyes to see, ears to hear, a compassionate heart that feels, and a sane mind,
the right choice.
OBAMA/BIDEN Of The People, Elected By The People, Working With The People TOWARD A BALANCED BUDGET For The People.
This election transcends who wins and who loses.
This election is about whether the majority of Americans really buy McCain and Palin's last ditch effort to play the race card.
It's one thing if McCain and Palin win the electorate. There have been Presidents who lost the popular vote and still were elected by the electorate.
The real question is,
What percentage of Americans can be fooled into believing that Obama is a terrorist?
Chassie,
I think McCain will try to look like Everyman in the debate tomorrow night. He believes that he's the American ideal. That's why he thinks the town hall meeting format suits him so well.
McCain will try to relate to the little guy to show he's in touch. And then he'll say something so off the wall that nobody including Brokow will understand it. McCain has been so insulated from reality his whole life, he can't help but act like Bush in a normal setting.
And he can't explain when pressed how his agenda would be any different than Bush's for the past eight years. He's running the same campaign he did in 2000...and he still doesn't know it.
The reason why he has no idea who Obama is...is that he's never taken the time to listen to him much less research his opponent. He lets others attend to those details. That's why he didn't even bother to look at Obama at the last debate.
Obama is a pesky irritant not worthy of his consideration. We'll see how well that works in this economically charged atmosphere tomorrow night with both of them on the same stage.
I'm going to call it a night to read.
Good night, all.
I stand by assertion that McCain and Palin are destroying everything left of the Republican Party that Bush and Cheney haven't already destroyed.
StewartT on October 6, 2008 at 11:11 PM
Anyone who would waste two months of their life on a "reality" show and then talk about the importance of character has more than a few issues of her own to face. But then she married a rich football player so everyone has to take her seriously.
Egads. How do true statesmen keep their sanity while they try to solve difficult problems in this sort of media circus?
bye.
When all is said and done this campaign will be well documented for the history books.
Unlike before the technological revolution, McCain and Palin will have a hard time writing their own memoirs without ridicule and disdain by political history scholars.
McCain has proven himself to be nothing more than a coward.
His imprisonment in a POW camp isn't an act of heroism, it's an act of circumstance.
And his quick trigger during a crisis, is not a characteristic that will conveniently go away after an election.
He and Palin will have to deal with their inadequacies as time goes by.
What percentage of Americans can be fooled into believing that Obama is a terrorist?
StewartT on October 6, 2008 at 11:17 PM
An 8-year-old terris who didn't meet his mentor till 25 years later? The numbers just don't add up and people burned by this economic meltdown are now looking at the numbers real close.
Give the voters a break. The vast majority have seen the light and the rest of us (and most of the Republicans) have been wise to McCain for decades.
Good night.

I'm not counting the election results before the votes have been cast anymore than I'm counting chickens before the eggs are hatched.
Whoever votes for McCain may very well be a landslide minority (which I still believe will happen).
However, even if Obama wins by a landslide, there will still be voters who went along with McCain and Palin.
That's a percentage that says a lot about us as a nation.
It's one thing to have a close election between two competent opponents.
McCain and Palin's use of such desperate measures is a surprise that denies them credit of any integrity.
But there is still that group who will actually pull the lever for McCain and Palin that makes me scratch my head and wonder.
The trolls on this blog are perfect examples.
All you have to do is read their posts and you know they have very little interest in the practice of common sense.
But no matter how much I belittle their intelligence, they still exist.
And that's worth scratching my head in wonder.

Wow, and you wonder why George Bush got elected twice. Unbelievable. I hope he is wearing a vest. These people are soooo insane. McCain and Palin are disgusting filth.
Here's one for the road:
Palin staff keep journalists locked inside press area to prevent them from writing ‘negative things.’
During Gov. Sarah Palin’s (R-AK) speech in Florida this morning, campaign staffers kept the press locked out of the park and away from supporters attending the speech:
Constantly under the watchful eyes of security, the media wasn’t permitted to wander around inside Coachman Park to talk to Sarah Palin supporters. When reporters tried to leave the designated press area and head toward the bleachers where the crowd was seated, an escort would dart out of nowhere and confront him or her and say, “Can I help you?” and turn the person around.
When one reporter asked an escort, who would not give her name, why the press wasn’t allowed to mingle, she said that in the past, negative things had been written. The campaign wanted to avoid that possibility Monday.
Palin has still yet to give a single press conference since being tapped as Sen. John McCain’s running mate on August 29.
It looks like Palin is already flexing her muscles like the current Fourth Branch disignate. She has expanded the concept of "Free Speech Zone" to "Free Press Zone?"
Where will it ever end?
No He Di Int, Yes Keith did, he kicked palin's but today. He was really, really, really, pissed. He went of on the witch doctor and the AIP in detail. He just went on and on like only Keith can when he has had it.
What would we do without Keith?
Hmmmm....wow.
"So you're the genius Governor, and it's your supporters and the undecided voters who are the dopes who are now going to believe the same mickey-mouse crap that Sen. Clinton couldn't get to stick, and Sean Hannity couldn't get to stick, just because it's you adding that word "terrorist” and that phrase "palling around” and dropping the "g” in pal-ling.
And of course, Governor, those same dopes, and we media morons, we are not smart enough to ask about that pesky Alaskan Independence Party, and why you recorded a speech for its convention last March, and why your husband remained a registered member of it until 2002, even though it was founded by a man named Joe Vogler who wanted Alaska to secede from the United States. The way the South seceded, precipitating the Civil War.
The same Joe Vogler who once said:
"The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government, and I won't be buried under their damn flag.”
And who also said:
"I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions.”
Shoot, Governor, them's strong words, hah? Did he wink as he said 'em? You betcha! So, where does Joe Vogler rank on the scales of "terrorists who would target their own country?" Your opponent's guy Ayers wound up on a volunteer anti-poverty committee in Chicago.
But your guy Vogler wound up founding a group that wanted to rip one of the stars off the American flag! Well, ok, Governor, Vogler's more your husband's guy. So it's your husband who's been "palling around with terrorists who would target their own country.”
But I'm assuming you've been "palling around” with your husband. But, gee willikers, Governor, you know what's best. You're not one of these Washington insiders who would notice that though that's a straight line connecting you, your husband, and this Alaskan secessionist, you're*standing under a banner with the campaign slogan "Country First” and if somebody out there puts two and two together they might just ask, "which Country dja mean? The Country of Alaska?”
Keith Olberman
"It's Palin doing the pallin" Countdown

An act of desperation is a barometer for a coward.
John McCain is not a disciplined hero who acts instinctively on behalf of the whole.
He is a coward who has basked in the reflected glory of past circumstance.
Sara Palin is worse than McCain, she doesn't believe in the three seperate branches of government. In fact she really doesn't know anything about it, why give a shit when you live way, way, way out past canada in alaska?

Joe Vogler makes Ayers look like a pot smoking underachieving hippie.
But I can't help be amazed at how blatant McCain and Palin are about their campaign character smearing and their misleading arguments.
They have completely given up on all efforts to campaign with dignity and are nothing more than race baiting instigators with a desperate agenda to win an election.
I can't wait for the day when McCain and Palin's words come back to haunt them.
When that day comes mercy and sympathy will be in short supply.
Posted by MarieDNC on October 6, 2008 at 11:56 PM
Wasn't that just priceless. Why would anyone watch CNN or Fox when Keith comes on. You want some news, I've got your news right here.
My basic cable package didn't include Keith. I saw him at my mothers and just had to have him. He's worth an extra 12 bucks a month any month of the year.
Tomorrow night will be interesting. Obama has got to be pissed about the whole terrorist thing but then again he is winning. It's not like he didn't know it was coming, we all knew. I bet McCain is pissed about the 13 min. Keating website. I hope McCain just loses his shit.
SandyH on October 6, 2008 at 11:35 PM Give the voters a break. The vast majority have seen the light ...
seen the light or seen the darkness or both (I'm not sure was more influential)
but I agree that the GOP's anti-government obsession, freemarketeering delusions, and upside-down tax policy are dying a well deserved grizzly death in hearts and minds all across the country.
The red meat that McCain is trying to serve up this week is generally reserved for the primaries
so either Governor Palin has convinced McCain to scrap his run for the presidency and let her start her 2012 presidential primary campaign or
the GOP leadership is loony.

No - Obama planned for it. McCain rushed to war thinking Obama wouldn't strike back - more bad judgement.
The whole Iran Contra thing is coming back up now. Stupid McCain shouldn't have decided to go negative. This is a headline on Yahoo!

(I know this is long but it is fill to bury the troll doo doo. Dear fellow Dems, now what would we rather have and it is fun to rant sometimes when we feel so strongly. Olberman's and Kucinich's story about our ninety year old grandma pisses me off big time too!!! They used to drive people to suicide in oppressive times and places quite artfully, a good read on this is a book I read years ago called "My Testimony", by Anatoli Marchenko...The book made a huge impact on me, as it has to do with torture in a Soviet prison camp, (both mental and physical), and how the combined techniques made political prisoners become so mentally degraded over time that they no longer valued their own lives and tried in any way they could to kill themselves which was a convenience to the oppressors. I'm not sure if I got the spelling correct on the author's name after about 38 years off the top of my head? Please forgive.)
So Stewartt, That is so true! Like thousands and thousands of other "under-achieving protesting Ph.D Scientists, graduate students with 3 to 4.0 grade point averages and other enlightened caring seekers of light and truth, called dirty hippies by their rightwing parents in our country too ignorant to know that the ancient Greek meaning of the word Hippi was indeed seekers of light and truth, that marched to Washington D.C. one year because thousands and thousands of their brothers and sons and friends that were young American Citizens were suddenly violated, forced against their will - conscripted, stripped and sacrificed of being a citizen at all of anything and were coming home DEAD in body bags for all average Joe Six Packs and their wives to bury day after day after day. We would sit there at dinner time and watch it on the news as if it were a fiction movie comfortably oblivious, conditioned and numb.
You had to have been there - it was a crazy time, hard to describe to those who have come later, but we did capture it in movies like "Hearts and Minds". The mass psychological effect this had on the generation of the Viet Nam war was profound and traumatic. We were cannon fodder and we knew it when our friends in our high school year books were not at our ten year or twenty year reunions because a percentage of our senior class was eliminated.
So maybe, just maybe those who cared were not so extreme about the stubborn refusal to become reasonable and work toward a peaceful solution? No, it had to be forced and forced through two presidents, Johnson and Nixon, before the People finally came to their senses and banded together for social change in the seventies. Oh yes, there were a lot of MIA's too, I would say those Missing In Action were sacrificed completely and their families suffered the most with the punishing and haunting grief, and the unfinished business of not having a body to even bury and it took, what, ten years or more years before they finally treated this military of American Sons with any respect to erect a memorial wall! My good God, it makes one weep to remember the feelings of being beaten up and degraded to that extent. So I am sick and tired of these LIES by the rich to the rest of the seemingly young and naive ninety percent of We The People.
We are not wage slaves. We are equal citizens of this country supposedly...oh, shaking your heads in skepticism and doubt? Well then, perhaps now that history has shown us that we mistakenly switched successful horses midsteam in our spoiled state of being in 1991, we had better get Obama and Biden in so we can repeal these insane wounds to our Constitutional rights, to our whole county's functioning and working economy, and get back to building some real equality back up too!
Obama/Biden WE CAN and WILL TAKE BACK OUR WHITEHOUSE and OUR CONGRESS from these cloistered and spoiled people behaving like little misbehaving children in what is supposedly or what used to be or where did the real Republican Party even disappear to???
Yes, newsjunkie, Keith Olberman really kicked their butts today, and they needed a good whopping and it will continue as justice is done in Alaska to clear up the mess the Governor is in.
No, she will not pass the test of the vote of The People or The Electorate while not obeying the laws of Alaska, a state of the United States of America.
This also brings into glaring focus the question of John McCain's judgement. Who or what put him up to choosing Palin? Whoever or whatever did, it assured a loss for the Republicans this time...they have hung themselves by going too far off the rightwing extremist end while accusing the very moderate left majority of association with something from a past world in different but admittedly similar circumstances because it was a game played by the same fat cats or fat cat's parents, much more severe in casualties,(I do grant, however, that every fatality is a murder and War is indeed the sin of mass murder and these characters on all extremist sides do not seem to connect those dots with a concience which to our world's best peacekeepers is a big problem.)The point here is that none of this has anything to do with speaking softly and having a real sensible defense for our country that is strong and our real pros know that.
Therefore, the loyal do gooders on the red side of the isle who were raised to faith and not to be so disrespectful as to ever question authority if they see a discrepancy or to refer to anything outside of the front and back flap of the King James version of the Holy Bible, we must now inform you that it it was decided from the inside old boy's club to the horror of the your faithful foolish ears, You, who - until the Titanic sinks will go down with the ship - tragic believers who have been betrayed but were too embarrased and afraid to admit or show it or to reach out for help as you watched your fortunes and retirements vanish. Can you crawl out from under that collapsed house with our help and get real now or do you only know the pain of persecution and hellfire fear and continue to suicidally jump lemminglike off the cliff?
Now, The next question to be asked is why. There seems to be a rift between Bush and McCain lately with some muffled barbs, and time is ticking toward the day when this current renter who seems to have forgotten that he works for The People finally leaves the Whitehouse.
I hope and pray the next tenant is more ethical, honest and less abusive of the property of The People than the last resident or we may not be able to repair the property again. but guess what. We the People also have to take some responsibility for this, afterall, we allowed it to happen by not creating a landslide DEM victory for congress and the presidency in 2001 and again in 2004 although many of us do suspect that the votes were close enough to be wangled as we have investigated and discovered to be true since. So Let's get to work making that landslide real, repairing our country and putting our families, including our ninety year old grandmothers in Akron, Ohio, back into their own homes where they will lovingly keep them up safely and securely as soon as possible.
This is truly a Marchenko-type disgrace and an attack on our own American families! This economy is supposed to provide a fair "living" for our citizens. It is the right of the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness which was given to us. It is the first amendment to the Constitution and our primary right. Every single one of us and our pennies and dollars are certificates of value that we have earned in trade for products, services, and goods and we should be able to afford our cost of living. One must look above to those in power to find out where all of that credit for work done is going. Is the offshore haven for profits or international profiteers loyal to this country and it's citizens? Are these people ex-patriots, pirates, or citizens? We need to look more closely atthese issues now and provide more safety to our citizens than we have had provided to us from behind closed doors in the last eight years.
This is also undermining and ruining our reputation as a country in front of the international community which is not secure for We the People(take our pick, people or peons)- and while these silly fools play blame game pointing fingers at each other on the stage like some soap opera star, they and their fans are not being watchful or knowledgeable, looking inward or upward at blind faith and not looking outward beyond their own egotistical self-centered happy drugged-out moronic brainwashed bubble world. However, they always have one goal, make more money no matter what you have to cheat on or do, they have been duped by pretenders into bowing down to the golden calf!
Like fish in a fish bowl, they fail to see that there are issues out there where others have nothing in common, no understanding whatsoever of their culture, their history, their language and no reason for any loyalty or mercy at all and they are NOT the center of the universe, but boy oh boy, they are wasting our nation's hard built wealth and life blood trying to take care or is that control of a world already able to take care of itself just fine.
They are practically (read that, actually impractically) alone in continuing to believe they are the world's big shot because they are control freaks who are terrified of not being invincible and having the totalitarian upper hand. They are that way because they have never known how to live any other way having been raised inside the bubble of their local culture. So as Olberman says - they are in circumstances beyond their ability to comprehend due to the lack of experience of life to know anything other than what they have been taught or have seen and known.
But we must be careful here not to allow the wrong people to stand the wrong posts, and mindful of circumstances and consequences. What was that old saying... "the bigger they come the harder they fall"? Of concern is that they have all the rest of us to shield them as they jet over to visit for the day, eating cake at birthday parties and for this reason, we must send them back home in order to save our country in a realistic moderately cautious and respectful way, respectful of the enormousness and seriousness of this post and our lives in the balance of favorable or unfavorable consequences. We see this in the difference of a private personal domain error and one that results in the loss of thousands and thousands of lives. Being negligent or inaccurate or following one's private ideology or mythology may may be fun but what do you do when one of those from outside your bubble knocks on the door with a big bangbang machine looking for their payback some day and why oh why are we so apathetic as to not get up and do something to prevent the nightmare we have been fearing for so long.
We can stop it because we have successfully done it before many times down the historical line since humankind arrived - for us a good example would be in pre-medieval times with the great Magna Carta. We have seen this dark age thing before, do we have to repeat it in post-mutually assured destructive times? What would Dwight D. Eisenhower have to say to the POW who is not a General or a War Hero but yes, like Jim Morrison, the lead singer of the Doors, can claim the title of Son of an Admiral, today??? Now I will bet you that John McCain would be the first to call Jim Morrison an extremist, maybe even see a Palin take it further to calling it a terrorist who puts out criminal witchy lyrics! This is a tragic blessing, yet an example to show us what hypocracy really is. Two admiral's sons, and We can thank our former lead singer of the Doors with that long hippi hair with that amazing set of albums back in the sixties for that.
But back to the point about now, this is all the more reason why we need an experienced legal and foreign relations expert like Joe Biden and not someone who cannot list a legal prescedent setting case or a newspaper, my good God!!! If she has atleast a bachelors in Journalism, why did she not just name a major newspaper in her answer to Couric? Any one daily rag could have done.
All Americans, of all perspectives Are We The People, "the government" is made up of, yep, people and We the People must help us to help ourselves in waking up now to seriously make the right choice for our own futures and our children's and children's children's future.... as said by our forefathers, to ourselves and to our posterity...and finally, we need a peaceful situation for a society to function to rebuild itself with a new technology that is green and clean as we want and hope for and dream of and visualize for the future.
If one can imagine it, one can create it. Can you imagine a safe peaceful green healthy environment, being liked as a friendly country among other peace loving countries in this world? Can you imagine having enough to sustain your life comfortably as an equal to all others in your community free of envy or oppression, or not having to worry about having enough money to make ends meet? What ever it is that we can imagine that we want or need to end this self destructive path we are on to create a safe and healthy future. Let us coalesce to bring about the change that we need on the central issues for our survival now with the power of our votes in order to make it truly happen here in our own country, on our own planet, in our own lifetime.
OBAMA/BIDEN TRUTH TO POWER FOR OUR FAMILIES, OUR COMMUNITIES, OUR COUNTRY NOW!
Hi,
I found an apparently unwatched YouTube video of a Stanford interview of John McCain. It seems almost perfect for an Obama Campaign commercial. McCain. In it he talks with great regret about his involvement in the Keating S&L scandal. He also gives George W Bush a grade of A/-A on foreign policy, while only giving Clinton a C/B . Links below. Its kind of long, so u might want to read the transcript instead. Is it a well known video, it seemed pretty bad to me.
Video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7XYgpukbR8
Transcript:
http://www.hoover.org/multimedia/uk/2995746.html
Sorry about my bad grammar on that one. It's really late, and my keyboard is barely functioning anymore.
Thought I ought to post a part of the transcript to show how bad it is:
Peter Robinson: Charles Keating and the so-called Keating Five, four Democrats and John McCain. You write I'm quoting you again, "I would very much like to think that I have never been a man whose favor could be bought. From my earliest youth I would have considered such a reputation to be the most shameful ignominy imaginable. Yet that is exactly how millions of Americans viewed me for a time--a time that I will forever consider one of the worst experiences of my life." Fill in the dots. Get us from the Keating scandal to your passionate embrace of campaign finance reform.
John McCain: I was always in favor of campaign finance reform. I worked with former Senator David Boren on the issues. And I was always a reformer. I created the appearance of impropriety, as you just said--five Senators meeting with regulators on behalf of a major contributor. I can't excuse it to you. I can tell you--I mean, I can't give you a good reason for it, I can give you lots of excuses and how I said I don't want any special favors for this guy and all that but we created the appearance of impropriety.
Peter Robinson: And at the time it struck you as just the way things were done?
John McCain: I was very uncomfortable with it.
Peter Robinson: Oh, you were uncomfortable with it at the time?
John McCain: Oh yes, but I did it. It doesn't matter whether I was uncomfortable or not, I did it, but it was, again something that probably was reinforced in spades--and that is, it's not only what you do in politics it's what you appear to do. So like in campaign financing and big money donors: it's not only corruption, it's the appearance of corruption.
...
Title: This Is Only a Test
Peter Robinson: Give William Jefferson Clinton a grade as Commander in Chief.
John McCain: I'd probably give him a "C" to a "B" and let me tell you why. He played a very key role in the Irish peace process. He played a marvelous role there.
Peter Robinson: It doesn't bother you that that's unraveled lately?
John McCain: No, because I think they've gone too far. I think it'll still be recovered. I think that he developed very good relations with our European allies, I think he was helpful in NATO, but, I think in other areas--my problem with Bill Clinton was that he was so feckless. He didn't ever focus his time and attention completely on foreign policy issues because Bill Clinton needed instant gratification. And this made him not have a very steadfast approach, which other great presidents have in my view.
Peter Robinson: All right, now grade another Commander in Chief who, by my reading, has shown considerably more focus: George W. Bush. Give him a grade since September 11th.
John McCain: "A."
Peter Robinson: "A?"
John McCain: Yeah. "A minus," let me say "A minus." The…
Peter Robinson: That "A"--we couldn't let that stand.
John McCain: The minus is that he has not, perhaps, followed the dictum of Teddy Roosevelt about talking softly and carrying a big stick. We've got to be much less aggressive in that we want to be much less confrontational with our allies.
Another idiotic presentation that tries to raise emotions instead of justifying the claim that they were pals. I've been to fundraisers. Hosting the doesn't mean much. And serving on the same board in no way makes them collaborators. Are people paid to put junk like this in forums? Or are they just insane?
And its just like a nutjob to become giddy with excitement when Racism offers the a chance at victory. That's all the Bradley effect is.
Learn from the above Example Fellow Dems!
We are seeing the absence to connect any dots by the troll, but we do see the stealth to do anything no matter how unfair, disloyal, dishonest, etc.. to win, put that with the taking of things from less fortunate People which is stealing, and we have the real criminal. Violent words miss the principle of Olberman's point altogether and are disrespectful of the sanctity of life. In the attempt to accuse Olberman of blaming a nutty old woman trying to kill herself on McCain when anyone could connect the social statement about her anome or isolation and hopelessness and fear of having to leave the only place she has known as a sanctuary in old age due to the state of the society and economy. The implications are totally justifiable in that those in power for the last eight years were on watch and created this consequence for all of us today.
There is no compassion or logical reason that this old lady could not possibly climb up on a two story house roof to clean out the guttering or re-roof or put the siding on or clean out the basement furnace or replace the storm windows or do all the landscaping, clean out the tool shed, replace the old water heater or stove, clean out the chimney, paint the ceilings, varnish the floors after sanding them down, replace the ring under the toilet, stop the overflowing backed up sewage drain without the roto rooter, change the faulty wiring in the hall wall, push the couch up the stairs, or whatever other housing maintenance work or expenses require without paying to have this work done by those young and strong enough to do it, as well as keeping up her monthly bills on just what at ninety some odd years of age - a job? See the blame game here - "should not have a mortgage at all"? What is a reverse mortgage to atleast pay the taxes every year and provide maintenance not covered by one who lives beyond predicted private benefits? Seems some folks don't understand a real budget these days or what meals on wheels means to some, and don't get the first amendment and don't have any understanding about equality or the golden rule.
It could be YOU OR ME someday. Think about it -
Let the above heartless troll comments be an example of how they function in pathological thought processes.
OBAMA/BIDEN BECAUSE THEY GET IT AND CARE ABOUT YOU AND ME AND THE CHILDREN OF THIS WORLD
Another example of closed mindedness.
As anyone knows with experience in healthcare, it is not the way eldercare has always been at all. It is artificial clinical death alone in a white room away for long periods from family or friends and paying more than for home care or hospice with family close by in or near the home.
Note the cold heartedness also.
The Dems are a big team, many work locally in their districts to raise more benefits for those that prefer hospice and home care arrangements in a more humanitarian way. Whatever the arrangement financially, the above sentence is contradictory, When an old lady cannot deal with it anymore, she should be helped by her family or others in her community - commune ity - because she cannot sell her house when it will not sell due to a stagnant housing market and the devaluation and depreciation of homes in Akron that are mostly all boarded up now and gone from around 75 down to 20 thousand in value on her street due to all the other foreclosures. So the houses sit for years and go to the Sherriff sale or are auctioned off at a fourth of the tax appraisal price and furthermore, now she has to get herself on what money into an old farts, (notice the disrespect here to seniors or the obliviousness to their plight in life), and then the troll calls it a "home", ANOTHER MISNOMER.
This reads like about the ninth grade level of maturity and understanding of senior issues. This is exactly what is meant when Obama and Biden say out of touch, there is no awareness of experience of others here...or compassion.
There is no ism to social life and nothing wrong with being a social being. It is healthy, loving acceptance of our fellow living beings. In a healthy community, all age groups have an inclucded rightful place of dignity and respect for who they are to others they know and others who have known and who have a social history of life with them.
OBAMA/BIDEN CONSIDERATE OF SENIOR CITIZENS, ELDER CARE, AND AWARE OF AGE DISCRIMINATION

Go Dems Go!!!
Morning all good Dems,
Did aanyone hear mcgeezer yesterday? He was in front of a crowd gloating about how he attacked Barack Obaama. He let out this uneaarthly growwl which sounded like a howling dog or a Polar Bear in heat.
Remember when Howard Dean did a similar thing, he was attacked as unsuitable for the presidency.
I demand that mcgeezer be dropped from the repuke ticket. He is not fit to be the president of the United States.
The wicked bitch from the north is a f**king liar and I will not tolerate another pack of liars in Washington.
The American people - at least the ones with a brain - are mad as hell and will not take it any more.
The Congress needs to investigate mccain's ties to the U.S. Council for World Freedom. He attended meetings and apparently did not consider their anti-semitic extremist diatribe offensive.
Is mccain a closet anti-semite?
The Congress needs to investigate palin. She attended meetings of the AIP and gave a speech. This group's leader said he hates the U.S. with a fury.
palin's husband is a member of this treasonous group.
The dumbasses in this country want her one heartbeat away from the presidency? I don't think so.
John - do you have a link to McSane's growl from yesterday? I would like to hear that.
duhhhh, Stevie, why don't you do some research today, instead of posting nutty, untruthful, junk here.
Jews are most assuredly black, also. No where in the Bible does it say he is White.
Since Biblical times, the Jewish people have had close ties with Africa, beginning with Abraham's sojourns in Egypt, and later the Israelite captivity under the Pharaohs. Some Jewish communities in Africa are among the oldest in the world, dating back more than 2700 years. African Jews have ethnic and religious diversity and richness. African Jewish communities include:
Scattered African groups who have not maintained contact with the wider Jewish community from ancient times, but who assert descent from ancient Israel or other connections to Judaism.
In 1975, the Israeli government recognized the Beta Israel of Ethiopia as legally Jewish . Many who wanted to emigrate were air-lifted to Israel under the leadership of Prime Minister Menahem Begin. Significant immigration continues into the 21st century. Begin had obtained an official ruling from the Israeli Sephardi Chief Rabbi (or Rishon LeTzion) Ovadia Yosef that the Beta Israel were descendants of the Ten Lost Tribes. Rabbis believed they were probably descendants of the Tribe of Dan, as rabbinical responsa that discuss issues concerning them dated back hundreds of years.

now don't you feel foolish, old man? God IS watching you know.
Lest we forget this, another reason we must get Obama elected!

McCain linked to private group in Iran-Contra case
WASHINGTON - GOP presidential nominee John McCain has past connections to a private group that supplied aid to guerrillas seeking to overthrow the leftist government of Nicaragua in the Iran-Contra affair.
McCain's ties are facing renewed scrutiny after his campaign criticized Barack Obama for his link to a former radical who engaged in violent acts 40 years ago.

Remember who it was who Wanted to Play Dirty first! Twenty six years in office gives Obama SO much more to work with about McCain's dirty past !
Got any friends who still think McCain is some kind of Hero? Send them this one, that shows his judgement was questioned 55 years ago!
Three crashes early in his career led Navy officials to question or fault his judgment.
By Ralph Vartabedian and Richard A. Serrano, Los Angeles Times Staff Writers
John McCain was training in his AD-6 Skyraider on an overcast Texas morning in 1960 when he slammed into Corpus Christi Bay and sheared the skin off his plane's wings.
McCain recounted the accident decades later in his autobiography. "The engine quit while I was practicing landings," he wrote. But an investigation board at the Naval Aviation Safety Center found no evidence of engine failure.
The 23-year-old junior lieutenant wasn't paying attention and erred in using "a power setting too low to maintain level flight in a turn," investigators concluded.
The crash was one of three early in McCain's aviation career in which his flying skills and judgment were faulted or questioned by Navy officials.
In his most serious lapse, McCain was "clowning" around in a Skyraider over southern Spain about December 1961 and flew into electrical wires, causing a blackout, according to McCain's own account as well as those of naval officers and enlistees aboard the carrier Intrepid. In another incident, in 1965, McCain crashed a T-2 trainer jet in Virginia.
As a presidential candidate, McCain has cited his military service -- particularly his 5 1/2 years as a POW. But he has been less forthcoming about his mistakes in the cockpit.
The Times interviewed men who served with McCain and located once-confidential 1960s-era accident reports and formerly classified evaluations of his squadrons during the Vietnam War. This examination of his record revealed a pilot who early in his career was cocky, occasionally cavalier and prone to testing limits.
In today's military, a lapse in judgment that causes a crash can end a pilot's career. Though standards were looser and crashes more frequent in the 1960s, McCain's record stands out.

just a little synopsis of what Keating was about:
The Keating Five were four Democratic senators, and Republican McCain, who accepted contributions from Charles Keating Jr., a real estate speculator and savings and loan owner. His institution failed and cost many investors in uninsured financial products their life savings.
Once close to Keating, McCain received $112,000 from him, his family and associates. The senator and his family also flew in Keating's plane to the Bahamas and — in the events that triggered the Senate investigation — took up his cause with financial regulators as they were investigating the businessman. Keating eventually went to prison.
The irony of the Keating case is that McCain received the mildest ethics committee rebuke of the five senators in 1991, and was kept as a defendant because he was the only Republican. The special counsel in the case had recommended that McCain and one of the Democrats be dropped as defendants. But Democrats, who controlled the Senate, refused to take all the heat for the scandal and all five remained in the case to the end.
McCain, in his book "Worth the Fighting For," lamented that the senators "were now a two-word shorthand for the entire savings and loan debacle and the rotten way American political campaigns are financed."

Trailing in every recent national poll, McCain heads into the debate with more ground to cover. ``With McCain's challenge getting tougher and tougher each day, the potential effectiveness of attacks by McCain gets less,'' said Charlie Cook, editor of the nonpartisan Cook Political Report in Washington. ``We're getting to the point when a campaign event isn't likely to alter the trajectory of the race

Please go to this web sight then let everyone know what you think. I was also wondering why no one is able to read Barack Obama's Thesis from college and how did a poor man manage to go to Harvard Law School. These are just a couple of my many unanswered questions. Makes it hard to vote at all.
http://www.obamacrimes.com/ here is another web page that was sent to me. Is any of this true???
