Watch Democratic National Committee chairman Gov. Howard Dean on MSNBC this afternoon:
Well, I'm inclined to agree that the references to George Bush are getting tired and worn. Since John McCain was one of the original funders of the PNAC via his New Citizenship Project, it might be more useful to elaborate on his claim that he did everything to get George Bush elected and that he now feels entitled to his own term to show his stuff.
"Conservative" is a somewhat misleading designation. What the neo-cons want is a restoration of the demonarchy in which the monarch, instead of being hereditary is chosen via the ballot box from a selection that's been designated by the moneyed elite to serve as a sort of figure head.
When you've got a figure head sovereign, the capabilities of the individual aren't very important--as the designation of Sarah Palin as the successor demonstrates. What's important is that the individuals are good at memorizing speeches, enjoy ritual, and look good on TV, which is where most of the public see them.
That explains Sarah Palin, the American version of Princess Di.
I got a letter from the DNC asking me to donate$75.00 to help elect Obama. What a laugh!! I get $565.00 a month social security and a small pension. He will not get one cent from me. Obama and McCain voted the same way on the Bush $850. billion dollar bailout for Wall Street. He's the same old same old. The only change he would bring to Washington is his color. Why is it that we MUST vote in a black man this time around, even if he is not competent? Besides that I was a Hillary Clinton supporter and haven't forgotten how shappy she was treated by the media and the DNC.
I can't wait for change in this world. I want OBAMA and BIDEN to win this presidential election.
