McCain Employing GOP Operative Accused of Voter Registration Fraud

John McCain's hyperbolic claims about "the fabric of democracy" ring incredibly hollow when, at the same time, he pays dirty tricksters like Nathan Sproul almost $200,000 to "register voters."
John McCain's campaign has directed $175,000 to the firm of a Republican operative accused of massive voter registration fraud in several states.
According to campaign finance records, a joint committee of the McCain-Palin campaign, the RNC and the the California Republican Party, made a $175,000 payment to the group Lincoln Strategy in June for purposes of "registering voters." The managing partner of that firm is Nathan Sproul, a renowned GOP operative who has been investigated on multiple occasions for suppressing Democratic voter turnout, throwing away registration forms and even, once, spearheading efforts to get Ralph Nader on ballots so as to hinder the Democratic ticket.
More from the Sproul file:
Indeed, Sproul's history is filled with allegations of political misdeeds. During the 2004 election, Sproul & Associates (the former name of Lincoln Strategy) was accused of attempting to destroy forms collected by Democratic voters in Nevada. That same year in Oregon, Sproul & Associates allegedly instructed canvassers to only accept Republican registration forms in addition to destroying those turned in by Democrats.
In Minnesota, meanwhile, Sproul's firm was accused of actually firing workers who brought back Democratic registration forms, while other canvassers were allegedly paid "$13 an hour, with the $3 bonus for every Bush, undecided or Ralph Nader voter registration." Similar problems related to Sproul & Associates popped up in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Thanks, Matt,
This is the type of information that needs to be brought front and center to the American people. The Democratic Party needs to hold a major press conference on this and ACORN. Philadelphia Mayor Nutter, Bill Clinton and Al Gore need to address this issue and put the Republican attacks on ACORN to rest. The attacks of voter fraud directed at ACORN are just a red-herring to keep eyes off what's going on (as shown in above article). & Need to be stopped dead. (This party doesn't have the power it used to have, it acts like it does.) We need to keep hitting the Republicans with the message that peace-loving Democrats hold the power, now.
This needs to be aggressively addressed, because the Republican attacks are racist and against the poor, who can't defend themselves, and could lead to a nullification of these important votes in Nov.
Soon to be President, Barack Obama, needs to put on the Presidential mantel of power in campaign speeches and less tit-for-tat answering of McCain. We need to see more of an acceptance of strength from all those who worked so hard to elect the Democrats 2 years ago under the banner of Peace (and are working just as diligently now). More of an assumption that we are the majority now. & Less playing the Republicans games. Any garbage thrown needs to be put down immediately or batted away like the mosquito it is.
What say ye?
--Peace
It's time for the Democratic Party to challenge voting machines that are flipping the votes to McCain in early voting. These machines need to be taken offline and paper voting substituted. It's happened in Texas, West Virginia and elsewhere as for example:
“A poll worker directed me to a touch screen voting machine & instructed me how to use it. I touched “Obama” for president & nothing lit up. I touched 2 or 3 more times & still nothing lit up. I called the poll worker back over to tell him I was having a problem. He said I just needed to touch it more lightly. I tried it 2 or 3 more times more lightly with the poll worker watching & still nothing lit up. The poll worker then touched it for me twice — nothing lit up. The third time he touched the Obama button, the Cynthia McKinney space lit up! The McKinney button was located five rows below the Obama button. The poll worker just kind of laughed and cancelled the vote. He hit the Obama button again & it finally lit up. I continued on to cast the rest of my votes. After completing the process & reviewing my votes, I went to the VOTE page, hit the VOTE button & nothing happened. Again after several tries, I called the poll worker over & he finally got the machine to register my votes. Hurray — I voted! — or did I? I left the polling place feeling uncertain.” Patricia Earnhardt - Friday, Oct. 17 - Howard School Building - Nashville, Tennessee

I am really concerned about the voting machines. Do any of you know if it is legal to use your cell phone to video tape your voting computer as you vote? Proof of who you voted for. DO not do this until someone finds out if it is legal.
