Actually, pet troll, Idaho elected a moderate who ran as a Dem. That's because his former party left him for a cheap date in the mens bathroom.

I am very upset with my former church, the Southern Baptists, for their role in passing Florida's Amendment 2 which is just as bad or worse than CA's Prop 8.

Southern Baptists convene in Florida, celebrate their hateful agenda.

Shame on them.

Do you believe that phalin told the governors at the conference that it is their job to keep the Democrats honest. WTF.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. These neotards are the most corrupt and dishonest people on the planet. Give me a f**king break.

Well, Son of Stupid, it's because the CANDIDATES have to get elected by the PUBLIC and have to appeal across the spectrum of the middle and the independents. But you are too stupid to grasp the simple concept that "the middle" is different in different places.

Also, you and your brain dead ilk spent the last 30 years listening to the factually challenged hate mongers like Flush and O'Liely who pounded the term "Liberal" as a pejorative.

"Progressive" is the term of choice until PRESIDENT Obama can fix the mess that Chimpy made.

But morons like you are hung up on pop culture terms and chose to ignore the rapid decline of this once great Country because of your blind worship of an alcoholic crack head who never took the time to learn the difference between shit and Shiniola, but lazy stupid people like you liked him because you thought it would be a treat to have a beer with a lying thief of a booze hound.

And as an added bonus, your type of mouth breathing low IQ Pugs discounts intelligence and curiosity, so the Pug Party is right up your alley on that 6,000 year old Flat Earth in which you believe.

Madfloridian,

Were the mormons involved in funding robo calls and billboards like they did in California?

Then we have the catholic bishops threatening Obama because he is for abortion according to them. These people are a bunch of jerks too. It's one thing to harass their sheeple from the pulpit but it is another thing entirely when they take away our rights.

They are all going to go to hell if I have anything to say about it.

It's like watching Dumb and Dumber. You can't actually believe that the people still in the republican party can be that stupid, but yet...

And, now their standard bearer is Bible Spice. I guess using ink on their foreheads wasn't enough, now they went ahead and carved the 'L' into their skin. At least that is one thing the republicans can claim has staying power for their party.

Walt Minninck?

Man calls himself a Blue-dog, smells like a progressive to me. wants to make sure we preserve our public lands, water, and air. Not a conservative position. Conserevative position is deregulate the resource industries and let them police themselves.

Balanced budget? More progressivism.

Workling with others to solve problems? Definitely progressive. conservatives believe in the "dog eat dog, let the biggest baddest dog win" theory. Cooperation just isn't in their nature.

Education? Minnick knows that "one size fits all" education like NCLB doesn't work. He says " I think it’s fine for the federal government to want to help local school districts establish standards and to finance incentives, but decisions must remain local."

A man can say he's one thing, but deep down inside, he is what the majority of Americans, indeed the majority of people all over, are: progressive. It's the way we're wired, and tying to force conservatism, a worldview that just doesn't work with our wiring, just results in overloads and backlashes.

9
BlueinIdaho on November 14, 2008 at 01:17 PM

Just to make sure y'all undertstand...the positions on the issues on which Minnick ran...NOT CONSERVATIVE. At least as far as the ones he portrayed on his web site. I don't know what kind of commercials he may have run. Blue, I'm sure you would have a better idea on that than me. But it doesn't look like he ran on "God, gays and guns", Bush tax cuts, deregulation, abortion, or "win in Iraq" to me.

So much for being a Party standard bearer. Yew betcha.

13
Doo-Bee-Doo-Bee-Doo on November 14, 2008 at 01:34 PM

I don't. Leaving Hillary as NY Senator guarantees her a Senate Leadership position soon and a job for life. Cabinet Positions ESPECIALLY Secretary of State rarely last more than 1 term.

Kerry has better cred, is well known and well liked and well RESPECTED (ahem, Condi) by all the foreign leaders, friend and foe alike. And he didn't openly saber rattle against Iran during the Primaries just to pander for votes. Plus he speaks 4 foreign languages.

Besides, he is from MA, and the biggest problem with that State for years has been that neither Kennedy nor Kerry were going to leave any time in the far future, so there was no room for other good Dems to move up the political ladder.

Now there would be room for a new crop of Dems to enter the political arena in a totally BLUE state.

14
Doo-Bee-Doo-Bee-Doo on November 14, 2008 at 01:42 PM

This is odd.

Dean too partisan to be considered for HHS?

A Democrat who just helped us take our country back is too partisan to be considered for a role?

15
madfloridian on November 14, 2008 at 01:49 PM

But that is still omnly a rumor. They could have been talking about retiring her debt, or HHS Secretary or the Cubs v.s. the White Sox for all we know.

It seems odd that a campaign that was known for not having any leaks suddenly starts leaking shit to Mrs. Greenspan. It could all be a red herring to throw people off the scent of what is really happening behind closed doors. Nobody knows. Nor does anybody know what McLame is going to hear when he meets with Obama next Monday.

16
Doo-Bee-Doo-Bee-Doo on November 14, 2008 at 01:54 PM

Well, Son of Stupid,

Maybe you should know what the Hell you are talking about before you about off. The AHSA endorsed Obama too. Why don't you Google them and especially Ray Schoenke, moron.

As for the scare tactic of being CEO of Summerwinds Garden Centers. GOD are you stupid. Taht company is a model of environmentally friendly industry, as is Trus Lumber.

He was endorsed by the League Of Conservation Voters

Just give it up. You are in over your head in a rain drop.

17
Doo-Bee-Doo-Bee-Doo on November 14, 2008 at 02:11 PM

LOL! Danny Boy, the AHSA also endorsed OBAMA, you fucking moron.

Conservation is not the same thing as conservatism, you idiot. Conservation is something a conservative would never even consider. "Use it up now" is the conservative mantra.

Being in the Armed Forces is a responsible, PROGRESSIVE thing to do. Conservatives HIDE from serving their country.

Timber companies that cut responsibly and replant are PROGRESSIVE Conservatives think they can take until it's all gone and damn the consequences.

Son of Stupid strikes again. Replanting hundreds of square miles of land that has been CLEAR CUT is NOT "environmentally friendly".

But you are just too stupid to understand the damage done to the environment and habitat by clear cutting areas down to the ground. Replanting won't fix the damage EVER.

22
Doo-Bee-Doo-Bee-Doo on November 14, 2008 at 02:30 PM

Nobody hates the Military, and most of the people here were IN the Armed Services.

What people don't like is the Cowboy Commander on Crack who used the Military like his personal tin soldier set. He treats those Soldiers like they are toys to be played with and thrown out when he breaks them because Daddy always bought him new toys to damage.

He just doesn't give a crap, and neither do you.

If he names McLame to a post in his Administration he give credence to bi-partisanship. Also, naming McLame to an Administration post means Janet Napolitano (a DEM) gets to name his replacement. BINGO! 60 Senators!

If McLame screws up or goes rogue he can be fired instantly, to "spend more time with Cindy's money.

I keep learning everyday. Phew!

Still, a sit-down over coffee or Jack Daniels with McLame just to clear the air is warranted. There are many other qualified repubs Obama could pick to help bipartisanship. Don't you think?

24
WatchfulEye on November 14, 2008 at 02:35 PM

Yep. More trees, fewer species living in them. And since the population is far greater now, the additional trees are needed to produce oxygen. But leveling entire forests ruins the environment and the habitat of animals and other plants which can never be reintroduced and stabilized in Centuries.

Not to mention soil erosion and messing with the water tables.

But the day without dawn is like clouded over.

LincolnParkLiberal on November 14, 2008 at 11:12 AM

You are a little behind the times and technology LPL. And didn't quite get the point about China. The US would be borrowing the money from China (an anyone who is game on buying our debt) to bail out the big 3 to prevent so many lost jobs by failing companies. I just suggested, in semi-jest, that it would maybe employ more Americans to give this money directly to the Chinese businesses to bring their better planned businesses to America to manufacture cars. Because the big three have messed up so badly that it would be better economics to let them fail? Or maybe fund American car start-ups and let the jobs flow into new leadership and ideas. The big 3 have abused their power and trust of their customers.

Just imagine what would happen if there was an electric car that had 200mi range that came with a solar charging kit for $20k. And that the battery pack could be charged by the grid at night and the pack could put power back into the grid during peak use. This and more is almost here, would be here now if the investment had been made in technology and manufacturing instead of lobbying and suppressing this technology.

Imagine a car that would go a million miles with almost no maintenance and never having to buy fuel. I would certainly buy such.

And try subsidizing alternative sources of electrical power like coal and gas and atomic enjoys and see what might happen to price and sustainability and pollution.

And yet idiots voted him in at least once after seeing the damage already done! (The first election was the result of voter rigging.) And the thing that still baffles me is that Dubya got through EIGHT YEARS OF IDIOCY, and people would rather impeach a guy for a blowjob than for lying to the American public about WMDs just so he go to war over oil!!!...thus killing loyal soldiers (i'm 56, so to me they are babies being killed) for a lie!

What the pet trolls fail to understand is that their party endorsed this guy in Idaho:

He submitted a satirical bill to repeal the Law of Gravity.

He said the founding fathers never intended to have a Muslim in Congress. And during his campaign, he failed to fill out his FEC report on time or correctly.

Perhaps most embarrassingly, while Minnick spokesman John Foster was giving an interview, Sali's staff made faces and held up "bunny ears" behind him.

He stated that abortions cause breast cancer.

He insisted that the wasteful use of energy resources is what has made America prosperous.

Now, the pet trolls want to claim our guy as their own. Sounds like sour grapes again...

Hi dems!

I just got this letter from David Plouffe;

I have a special request for you.

The Obama-Biden Transition Project is a nonpartisan entity whose purpose is to facilitate the transition to a new government and prepare for the next administration.

In the past, efforts like these have often been very secretive and funded by the D.C. lobbying and corporate community.

But, like in the campaign, we've decided to do things differently.

For the first time, transition efforts won't be financed with donations from Washington lobbyists and PACs -- which means we'll need to keep asking for your help. You were extremely generous during the campaign, but building a more transparent and open government means continuing to rely on a broader group of people to do this the right way.

We only have a few weeks to assess the state of the federal agencies, prepare our agenda, and staff key positions in the new administration. Your support right now will be crucial to helping us accomplish these goals.

Will you help support the urgent mission of our transition team with a donation of $250 or more?

https://donate.barackobama.com/transition

You know that we got here by building this campaign from the ground up. We're committed to building the White House team the same way.

Thank you,

David

Insurers pull cover from GM and Ford suppliers

By Kiran Stacey, John Reed and Jonathan Guthrie in London

Published: November 13 2008 21:11 | Last updated: November 13 2008 21:11

Troubled US carmakers General Motors and Ford Motor have been given a potentially devastating vote of no confidence by three big European credit insurers, which have removed cover from their suppliers.

The withdrawal of credit insurance – which covered suppliers against the risk of the car companies’ failing – has previously hastened the demise of a string of European companies, with suppliers to retailers and construction companies finding cover increasingly hard to come by.

Euler Hermes, Atradius or Coface, which control more than 80 per cent of the world’s credit insurance market, are refusing to write policies for suppliers trading with GM or Ford on credit. GM and Ford are two of the biggest groups ever to be blacklisted. The cut-off of cover will primarily affect the companies’ large operations in Europe, where the insurers do the bulk of their business. US suppliers largely operate without insurance.

Bummer. Too-big-to-fails threaten congress with big job losses in a recession and bingo, the treasury pops open and flings dollars willy-nilly. Big time bailouts are the order of the day until this corporate-state coziness is remedied.

This is the result of government favoring big businesses, and vice-versa, at the expense of small ones. There is less flexibility and resiliance when things get tough because there is not enough competition and diversity. The big guys get to gamble with no chance of losing, because government will saddle the taxpayers with their losses. They are rewarded for failure, because these are in effect state-backed businesses.

That is unfair advantage in a putative capitatlistic democracy. We, the taxpayers, are dupes if we continue to pay for this casino fraud game.

The trouble is that we are probably entering a deep recession, and economics is such a murky and speculative science that there is no clear path to the best recovery. There will be all kinds of loopy suggestions and errors made, because this economic system operates on the principles of fear and greed. Were it run on greeness and humanism I think we would come out in better shape and perhaps lessen the next bust cycle's effects.

After 6 years of steamrolling dems and putting them in the basement, and then 2 years of obstrucing the will of the people who elected dems for change, these pug rascals need to stand in the corner or be hounded out of office.

One political party attempts to operate with honor and with respect and be inclusive, the other doesn't, and is running amok. The pugs are a danger to democracy because they have no scruples, and will sell it out. It is becoming more and more obvious.

Common sense talk to "gun nuts":

As for our president-elect, the National Shooting Sports Foundation, a trade group for the firearms manufacturers, should put a statue of Barrack Obama in front of their headquarters back in Connecticut because he has sold more guns than anybody in recent history. Even while repeatedly denying he had any gun control agenda, he caused a major economic stimulus in the firearms industry. Just think what would happen to gun sales if he actually favored gun control.

I don't believe in adding insult to injury. Once I've injured someone I just like to take a moment to enjoy it. But apparently election officials in Omaha Nebraska are going to add an insult to the Republican injury. They're still counting the votes there and there's a damned good chance when they finish tomorrow they'll be giving one more electoral vote to Barack Obama making him the first Democrat to get a Nebraskan electoral vote since Linden Johnson in 1964. And...and to get that vote Johnson had to promise to nuke Kansas. Now if it happens, one Democratic official said this victory would be "like a cherry on top of an already sweet election." Well the Democrats can have their sweet elections. Republicans perfer things bitter and salty.

Nation, I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say that things are not going well for the Republicans. Two years ago they controlled both the White House and the Congress. Soon they'll be controlling both the Coke machine and the fry station. And then they're asking, how did we fall so fast? Which takes us to tonight's Word...Pity Party.

I think we need a gun slinger.
-------------

In Praise of a Rocky Transition

By Naomi Klein

The more details emerge, the clearer it becomes that Washington's handling of the Wall Street bailout is not merely incompetent. It is borderline criminal.

In a moment of high panic in late September, the US Treasury unilaterally pushed through a radical change in how bank mergers are taxed--a change long sought by the industry. Despite the fact that this move will deprive the government of as much as $140 billion in tax revenue, lawmakers found out only after the fact. According to the Washington Post, more than a dozen tax attorneys agree that "Treasury had no authority to issue the [tax change] notice."

Of equally dubious legality are the equity deals Treasury has negotiated with many of the country's banks. According to Congressman Barney Frank, one of the architects of the legislation that enables the deals, "Any use of these funds for any purpose other than lending--for bonuses, for severance pay, for dividends, for acquisitions of other institutions, etc.--is a violation of the act." Yet this is exactly how the funds are being used.

Then there is the nearly $2 trillion the Federal Reserve has handed out in emergency loans. Incredibly, the Fed will not reveal which corporations have received these loans or what it has accepted as collateral. Bloomberg News believes that this secrecy violates the law and has filed a federal suit demanding full disclosure.

Despite all of this potential lawlessness, the Democrats are either openly defending the administration or refusing to intervene. "There is only one president at a time," we hear from Barack Obama. That's true. But every sweetheart deal the lame-duck Bush administration makes threatens to hobble Obama's ability to make good on his promise of change. To cite just one example, that $140 billion in missing tax revenue is almost the same sum as Obama's renewable energy program. Obama owes it to the people who elected him to call this what it is: an attempt to undermine the electoral process by stealth.

Yes, there is only one president at a time, but that president needed the support of powerful Democrats, including Obama, to get the bailout passed. Now that it is clear that the Bush administration is violating the terms to which both parties agreed, the Democrats have not just the right but a grave responsibility to intervene forcefully.

*********
One thing we know for certain is that the market will react violently to any signal that there is a new sheriff in town who will impose serious regulation, invest in people and cut off the free money for corporations. In short, the markets can be relied on to vote in precisely the opposite way that Americans have just voted. (A recent USA Today/Gallup poll found that 60 percent of Americans strongly favor "stricter regulations on financial institutions," while just 21 percent support aid to financial companies.)

There is no way to reconcile the public's vote for change with the market's foot-stomping for more of the same. Any and all moves to change course will be met with short-term market shocks. The good news is that once it is clear that the new rules will be applied across the board and with fairness, the market will stabilize and adjust. Furthermore, the timing for this turbulence has never been better. Over the past three months, we've been shocked so frequently that market stability would come as more of a surprise. That gives Obama a window to disregard the calls for a seamless transition and do the hard stuff first. Few will be able to blame him for a crisis that clearly predates him, or fault him for honoring the clearly expressed wishes of the electorate. The longer he waits, however, the more memories fade

Wow! A Breakthrough!

Son of Stupid still can't spell dildo! Eat shit and die, troll. You got nothing but a 3rd grade mentality and the small ability to copy & paste. Plus as an added bonus, and another testament to your sheepish stupidity you can't even come up with your OWN 3rd grade taunts, and have to recycle old ones from other trolls.

So, Diaper Dan, are you going to spend the entire Thanksgiving weekend trading diaper, poop, and goat "jokes" with the other losers who have no friends, family of suppoet people like you did last Thanksgiving?

That was REALLY pathetic of ALL of you trolls, but especially from YOU. Every now and then you seem to really act like a Human, but you are stuck in your herd mentality and are a follower, not an individual.

How sad for you.

I hope this Thanksgiving you can find a shelter or a group therapy meeting for people with no friends or loved ones. Someplace where you can have actual social interaction without reverting to being an 8 years old.

What a sad, pathetic and lonely existence you lead.

But buck up, you still have about 2 weeks to call the crisis hot line and they will direct you to a group where you can deal with your demons.

"Only the Lonely" was just the name of a pop song. For you it's a lifestyle.

Sad.

Evening Dems. Just loggin out but want to say goodnight.

Doo-Bee, That was extremely pitiful last Holiday season, when I would check in at night and look back and all that would be on allThanksgiving, all Christmas Eve, All Christmas Day, etc was the trolls. It finally opened my eyes as to WHY they are in here trolling. Not one of them, Sally, Dan, Thomass, nor the German have family. Not real family that cares about them. that invites them dinner and a football game. That wants to spend time with them. the German is rejected by his foreign in-laws, LOL.

It speaks volumes about them. And that hatred has to come out somewhere, so this is the only place they can do it anonymously.

Oh well, they can always go to the local soup kitchen and sit with the other guys who have no family.

Good night, Dems. Have a great evening. And remember: WE WON ! THEY LOST. AND IF YOU DON'T THINK THEY ARE PISSED, FUGGITABOUTIT!
LOL!

gregg on November 14, 2008 at 09:23 PM

Bullshit on two fronts 'Sally". YOU are the male who poses as a female, which makes YOU a 'Queen", and you will NEVER stop posting here.

It's the ONLY social interaction you have now. Here is a clue, NOBODY cares f you are alive in your 3D life, why do you think your cyber victims give a shit?

All you have ever done is abuse people with some self proclaimed "superiority" and when the real world hits your sekf-made delusion you can only respond by reverting to childish taunts and insults.

You are the one who was stupid enough to post SATIRE pieces 3 times in 10 days as "proof" of some bullshit narrative you read on the Gateway Pundit, and when you were called on it you changed the subject to your fall back position of Global Warming Denier.

"Intelligent" does NOT mean "smart". It means you have the ABILITY to solve problems, but you choose to not use your ability and instead go the easy route of C & P from people you find on the internet who say whatever with your preconceived notions.

Critical thinking is important. Being able to solve puzzles only tells you that you CAN learn, but you choose not to do so.

My cat is intelligent. But like you, refuses to SOURCE and FACT CHECK.

Ergo, "not smart".

BYD: I would agree with you if the vast majority of US Attorneys weren't already Republican. Keep in mind that Republicans have completely controlled the appointmentships for them as well as Federal Judges (appointed for life) for all but eight of the last 28 years. President Obama needs to appoint strong, progressives to both positions. It's one of the many, many reasons that I voted for him is to 'balance' out the justice department from all of the Evangelical appointees of the Bush II era as well as all of the appointees inherited from Reagan and Bush I.

Reagan replaced Carter's, Clinton replaced most of Ray-Guns and Poppy Shrubs, Chimpy FIRED PEOPLE HE HIRED because they refused to turn their office into a political circus during an election.

THAT is the illegal part, moron.

BTW, one of the AUSA Clinton kept on was Michael Chertoff who was the AUSA for Northern New Jersey, and was involved in a very complex and complicated corruption investigation of a DEMOCRAT, and Clinton kept him on until the conclusion of the case.

So get your pinhead out of Flush Rimjob's ass and learn to think for yourself, you little talking point sheep.

73
Doo-Bee-Doo-Bee-Doo on November 14, 2008 at 09:50 PM

Yes, Thumbass. On the Holidays the friendly thing to do is to wish other people good tidings and well wishes.

You and the other trolls spent all of Wednesday night from 6PM through Thanksgiving Thursday, and on and on until 6 AM Monday morning chatting about diapers, poop, goats, etc. At least YOU only dropped in once in a while, but Diaper Danny and Sally and the occisional post from your doppleganger Burd filled up over 90% of the thread with insults, 3rd grade "humor" and all sorts of scatological drivel, just as a lame attempt to say "HEY! I'm still alive! SOMEBODY please recognize me."

The same pattern was repeated from 6PM Christmas Eve until 6AM Monday morning, and again during the New Year's Celebration.

Yopu friendless trolls have a weird way of "connecting" with people.

You still have a family (for now) and are forced to deal with them. Diaper Dan and Sally have NO ONE who can stand them, so they come here crying out to people to notice their pathetic existence.

They are sad losers, and you are getting on their bus headed to the land of "Boo Hoo, Nobody likes me".

Pathetic, but a well earned and hard worked for existence.

Maybe Obama wants some advice on the economy...?
Nah.

87
Chicago on November 14, 2008 at 11:59 PM

Chicago, I'm hoping that they will have a 2 part meeting.

1) McLame gets named to a high level Administration post (that way Napolitano names a Dem as his replacement, rendering Holy Joe meaningless), and

2) The traditional "Seasons Greetings" commercial from the candidates will be something on the line of:

Hillary: In this time of blah, blah, blah,

McLame: we all would like to call all the people of the world to forget and forgive our differences...blah, blah, blah,

Obama: and go forward into a new era of peace and prosperity...blah, blah, blah...

ALL: For the New Year and all years to come.

THAT would put unity and common good up front for ALL to see. 9Except for the PUma assholes and the trolls.

Then at the end Sarah can say something stupid, and Cheney can shoot her in the face.

They are both idiots, and you are a moron, none the less.

113
Doo-Bee-Doo-Bee-Doo on November 15, 2008 at 06:02 AM

No I didn't fuckwad. The post said:

Gore says 40% of the world’s population get their water supply from Himalayan glacial melt waters that are failing because of “global warming.” They don’t and they are not. The water comes almost entirely from snow-melt, not from ice-melt.

Really?

As of August 2008 there were 6.66Billion people on the planet. China has over 1 BILLION. India has over 750 MILLION. (Are you adding the totals?)

Add in Myanmar, Pakistan, Nepal, Tibet, Bangladesh, etc. and you get that 40% figure rather quickly.

The fallacy in that post, which you are too stupid to understand is that it combines geographic Europe and geographic Asia as one entity, when the clear intent was to deceive.

Europe DOES NOT get its water from the Himalayan snow melt. And what is the difference whether it's snow or ice melting, if neither are doing so?

But you are too stupid to read or add, for that matter.

And as for me thinking you would go away, I have witnessed your sickness and obsession and addiction for 5 years---what on earth makes you think I think that LOSING an election would make you better? You have zero self pride or self esteem. it must have all been lost sitting in that courtroom for mail fraud, and getting tossed out of your home by your ex, and the fact that the only invites you get on holidays now are PITY ones. People who feel sorry for you, including your daughter.

You know Stevie, you used to irritate me. Now I look at your feeble, childish, sick posts with amusement. That goes for the other trolls too. The VICTORY in my heart makes me understand that the PAIN in your's is stronger than anything that can happen to you here!

How your 13 year old daughter was taking turns with you posting that filth and trash. The stories of you beating up old gays, etc. Yup, makes for interesting reading. "updated 7:48 p.m. ET, Fri., Nov. 14, 2008

WASHINGTON - Threats against a new president historically spike right after an election, but from Maine to Idaho law enforcement officials are seeing more against Barack Obama than ever before.

The Secret Service would not comment or provide the number of cases they are investigating. But since the Nov. 4 election, law enforcement officials have seen more potentially threatening writings, Internet postings and other activity directed at Obama than has been seen with any past president-elect, said officials aware of the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity because the issue of a president's security is so sensitive.

Earlier this week, the Secret Service looked into the case of a sign posted on a tree in Vay, Idaho, with Obama's name and the offer of a "free public hanging." In North Carolina, civil rights officials complained of threatening racist graffiti targeting Obama found in a tunnel near the North Carolina State University campus..."

One key to Barack Obama's victory, however, was his overwhelming support among voters ages 18 to 29, whom he won by 34 points, 66 percent to 32 percent; and his support among those ages 30 to 44, whom he carried by 6 points, 52 percent to 46 percent. Those numbers are ominous for Republicans looking to 2010 and beyond. "

Thanks for holding the fort down.

I see the latest debate is whether or not Europe is north of the Himalayas. That debate is like trying to determine whether or not the U.S. is north of the Gulf of Mexico; some parts are, some parts are not. It depends on one's perspective. And I agree with VP Gore. 40% of the planet's population is south of the Himalayas. India and China account for two billion people alone.

I suppose the climate change deniers are going to have to see highs in the 120's and lows in the upper 90's, O2 levels drop below 20%, the need for personal CO2 scrubbers, and the Atlantic Ocean in their backyard before they begin to entertain the notion of such. So be it.

Can I build a coal-fired power plant in your backyard? In fact, which would you rather have? Would you rather have your children breathing exhaust from a coal plant or a solar plant? Would you rather have your children breathing air from natural gas plant or a wind farm? The fact that the anti-Gore crowd make their ludicrous arguments in favor of carbon based energy prove time and time again that their arguements have the intellectual merit of a whining 8 year-old, "I don't want to and you can't make me!"

WE ??? WE????

Unless your little fraulein kicked your ass out, and you are back in the states after 40 years, YOU have nothing to fear sitting there in Germany!

It must REALLY have killed you, German burdbrain, to watch the Germans cheer, and sing and dance over Obama! That he, instead of old man McCain got elected. They must look at you like you are crazy when you try and say McCain and another 4 years of Republicanism would be a good thing! LMAO! Now YOU are very very funny! You really amuse me! I can imagine your anger in your guts ! LOL

Nice to see that the asshole troll can do a rudimentary fact check when it "thinks" it bolsters its asinine original post, yet feels comfortable posting C & P bullshit from right wing blogs as if it were Gospel.

Let alone 2 year old thoroughly debunked anti Al Gore crap from some lunatic Global Warming denier.

Let's not forget, Europe is just North of Mongolia.

So the troll has decreed.

Statistics also show that usually, when a person votes with a party twice in a row, they stay with that party. We saw this happen in 1980 which is what propelled the Republicans to power. Now a majority of the sheeple have come to the inescapable conclusion that Republican philosophy and governance are geared to consider favorably only those who are white, rich, and Christian.

Lots and lots of articles in our morning paper today on Lieberman ! The bottom line in all of them, pro and con against Lieberman is that without doubt, this will have to be his last term! That this man will never ever win another Senate seat in the state of CT again.

So if any of you know any Dept stores hiring for their ladies shoe depts, could you let Joe know?

He will be looking for another job in a couple of years.
Primary night 2 years ago, when CT Democrats kicked this piece of crap out of the party was one of the most fun in my life!

so bush lectured the leaders of various nations on the miracle of capitalism, the evils of regulation and so on...he is like one of those parents who refuse to let their child be treated for illness because even though the treatment will probably work it goes against their religious idiotology. bush is leaving us all with such an incredible mess worldwide and he is smiling and strutting as he goes....he doesn't even seem to give a shit that he wrecked his own political party!

i really do want to see him in chains.

Barack Obama is warned to beware of a ‘huge threat’ from al-Qaeda
Security officials fear a ‘spectacular’ during the transition period

Tom Baldwin in Washington and Michael Evans, Defence Editor

Barack Obama is being given ominous advice from leaders on both sides of the Atlantic to brace himself for an early assault from terrorists.

General Michael Hayden, director of the CIA, this week acknowledged that there were dangers during a presidential transition when new officials were coming in and getting accustomed to the challenges. But he added that no “real or artificial spike” in intercepted transmissions from terror suspects had been detected.

President Bush has repeatedly described the acute vulnerability of the US during a transition. The Bush Administration has been defined largely by the 9/11 attacks, which came within a year of his taking office.

His aides have pointed to al-Qaeda’s first assault on the World Trade Centre, which occurred little more than a month after Bill Clinton became President in 1993. There was an alleged attempt to bomb Glasgow airport in Gordon Brown’s first days in Downing Street and a London nightclub attack was narrowly thwarted...

This is what VP-Elect Biden referred to prior to the election. I agree. Bush was hit on 11SEP01, Clinton was hit in 1993 at the WTC, the Soviet union collapsed in 1989 under Bush 41, Reagan was shot in 1981, the Iranians went to hell in 1977 under Carter, Nixon, in 1969, had the Tet Offensives and Vietnam as a whole, LBJ had the assassination of JFK in 1963, and JFK had the Bay of Pigs incident in 1961.

Someone is going to test the mettle of President Obama. Someone is going to try and see if they can get one past us. And here we sit seven years after 11SEP01 with virtually no border security, no port security, and a general lack of interest in the subject by the sheeple. Will it take a radioactive mushroom cloud to wake the American sheeple up? I sincerely hope not but I fear it will.

"Bush...greeted each of his guests individually as they pulled up to the North Portico, with smiles and back pats for most, a protocol-laden process that took over 75 minutes. The leaders then ate with him in the State Dining Room, working for about two hours over a gourmet meal of quail, lamb and fondue accompanied by fancy wines."

i wonder what kind of work gets accomplished when one's face is smeared with lamb grease and one's gullet filled with five hundred dollar a bottle wine??

I wonder how many glasses of wine that Bush had to wash down his lamb and quail????

He is one of those guys that really SHOULD drink. He is a failure as a human being, and alcohol in his system can only be a help!

If, at your age, you don't know what dates the holidays fall on I expect it is a little too late. I was addressing all of you asshats.

74Sally-* on November 14, 2008 at 09:17 PM

I have paid holidays from my career, but here at our home, we celebrate on days other than what they are listed on a calendar. Take Thanksgiving and Christmas this year...on Thurs., but we are going to have our families over on Sat. so that they can spend the "actual" day with other family members. It's not just one day. Why, we will even have celebrations at the office. Big Potluck Dinner on nov. 21st. and a gift exchange during Christmas. My Pretty Bird has some glass blocks that were in the basement of the house she bought. I have a couple really great ideas to make something out of them, so I will be creating a few homemade gifts this year. Not to mention all the varieties of cookies I will bake! yum! It will be the first Christmas that Bella will be helping her Mamey!

So, you see, I asked what days you are going to be off this blog, because the holidays for me can last for weeks.

I do believe Ebenezer Scrooge found out that one should celebrate every day of ones life.

Bah, humbug to you! hahaha

BERLIN (AP) - An American man who suffered from AIDS appears to have been cured of the disease 20 months after receiving a targeted bone marrow transplant normally used to fight leukemia, his doctors said.

While researchers - and the doctors themselves - caution that the case might be no more than a fluke, others say it may inspire a greater interest in gene therapy to fight the disease that claims 2 million lives each year. The virus has infected 33 million people worldwide.

Dr. Gero Huetter said Wedneday his 42-year-old patient, an American living in Berlin who was not identified, had been infected with the AIDS virus for more than a decade. But 20 months after undergoing a transplant of genetically selected bone marrow, he no longer shows signs of carrying the virus.

"We waited every day for a bad reading," Huetter said.

This is good news, hopefully. But have you noticed that more and more of scientific discoveries are coming from overseas? This is what happens when you let jacklegged dimwits control local school boards that want to teach theology instead of science.

BobVADemocratHawk on November 15, 2008 at 08:22 AM

Bob, At long last, I pray that an Obama administration will finally get to work on real Security! It is time to get serious. Border and Port security is a MUST.

All that swagger and talk by Bush, but no action! Republicans are no good at Defense of this nation. If they were, 9/11 would not have happened. I lament how that would have gone differently had Al Gore been sitting in the White House, when those memos came out in that year.

Esme, Silly* only did that "taunt" so when the normal people on here drop in ti widh others' a Happy Holiday he/it can say 'AHA!!!" YOU posted, so therefore I can post all I want.

It's some stupid passive/aggressive BS that this child thinks he has perfected.

He will NEVER go away. This is the only place on Earth where he can spout his steady stream of ignorance and not get punched in the chops. He doesn't even go to the Fireplug any more.

He has NOBODY with which to communicate, and this is the only place on Earth where he can let the world know he is still alive. As if anybody cares.

No job. No family. No friends. No acquaintances. No life.

He truly is to be pitied, if not for the knowledge that he brought it all on himself.

He/it is a pathetic slug of a being.

Barack Obama's late grandmother remembered

"Tutu taught us to be mindful and moderate, to be patient when calm was warranted and to act when action was necessary," the two wrote, using the Hawaiian word for grandmother.

"She liked playing bridge, a good mystery novel, jigsaw puzzles and an annual cruise. She was fiercely loyal and protective of those whom she loved, and had little patience for foolishness."

g'morning, dpd. I know he won't leave for one day, he's getting worse, but I thought I would play the game (taunt him) and be a little lucy by stating all the fun I plan on having over the holidays. Of course I will stop in here and wish all my friends well on every holiday as well as share the good and bad in life.

I think it's totally amazing that people can have relationships with others all over the world and never meet face to face.

Right now, I've got to walk power walk, get showered and go get Necee and Bella so we can attend a few Holiday Bazaars at a few local churches.

Enjoy the day, everyone.
