HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, N.J. - Three New Jersey siblings whose names have Nazi connotations have been placed in the custody of the state, police said Wednesday.Holland Township Police Sgt. John Harris said workers from the state Division of Youth and Family Services removed 3-year-old Adolf Hitler Campbell and his younger sisters, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, from their home Tuesday.
Harris said family services did not tell police the reason the children were removed. Agency spokeswoman Kate Bernyk said it does not comment on specific cases.
The children and their parents, Heath and Deborah Campbell, received attention last month when a supermarket bakery refused to put Adolf Hitler Campbell's name on a birthday cake.

While it is my knee-jerk reaction to agree with the NJ Youth and Family Services in this matter, I do hope there were other reasons for removing these children other than their parents are Neo-Nazis. This could end up a repeat of the incident when the TX authorities illegally seized the Mormon children from their compound.

So, Bob,
You Don't think Iran is shipping AK-47s over to the Palestinians to go rabbit hunting with? hahahahaha
If the price of oil stays down Iran is going to have a hard time buying anything to ship any where.
Good afternoon, all.
When the NCLB Act mandated that all schools allow these stealth recruitment practices to be installed at high school lunch rooms without informing parents with the threat that those school districts that did not comply would lose all its federal funding, you just knew it would spread into the community to target younger kids...
Army invades the mall with video game recruitment station
Wed Jan 14, 2009
Pssst, kid! Wanna play some video games?
That's the latest come-on from the U.S. Army, which continues to refine its approach toward engaging teens and twentysomethings. Having seen amazing success with recruiting thanks to its America's Army home computer game, the military is now taking the pitch to the mall. Specifically, to the Franklin Mills shopping center in Philadelphia, where it has set up 60 gaming PCs, 19 Xbox 360s, plush couches, and "rock music" for potential recruits to enjoy.
There's even a real Humvee that players can shoot from installed as part of a 15-foot-high projected battle simulation and an Apache helicopter simulator that recruits can fly.
Sounds like a killer gaming setup... but of course there's a not-so-ulterior motive at work. It's all part of a plan to get younger kids interested in signing up for service, thinking that shooting terrorists in active combat is all part of a day's work.
Naturally, critics are out in full force, including a former Army staff sargeant, Jesse Hamltion, who accuses the Army of misleading kids with deceptive, unrealistic scenarios. Hamilton notes that recruits are unlikely to see active combat and that "the only way to simulate the heat is holding a blow dryer to your face."
Still, the move of course comes at a good time for the Army, which has struggled to fill its ranks for several years thanks to some overwhelmingly bad press. But with civilian unemployment skyrocketing and the situation in Iraq looking better than it has in ages (particularly with the prospect of troops coming home), the Army's high-tech mall paradise may actually be more than it needs to woo the young and impressionable.
http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/115379
Why don't they just work out of McDonalds...install the Humvee next to the playground equipment or soda refill machine? Better yet, try targeting someone other than minors?
Please take these promotional gimmicks to Hooter's and quit selling violence to our children without our permission. Or perhaps take the truthful patriotic approach instead and present military service as a great character builder and career training experience...to those 18-years-old or older who and are mature enough to understand the risks involved as well as the benefits.
War is not a game.
NBC/WSJ poll: Obama still soaringPosted: Wednesday, January 14, 2009 5:00 PM by Mark Murray
Filed Under: Obama WH Transition
From NBC's Mark Murray
Despite the Blagojevich mess, the ordeal over whether to seat Burris in the Senate, and Bill Richardson's withdrawal as Commerce secretary, the American public continues to overwhelmingly approve of Obama's transition, according to the latest NBC/WSJ poll.
Seventy-one percent say they approve of the president-elect's transition, which is virtually unchanged from December.
Also in the poll, a combined 74 percent believe that the recession will last at least another year -- and likely longer than that. Fifty-seven percent it will be over in one to three years, while another 17 percent say it will go on for more than three years.
The rest of the NBC/WSJ poll will be released at 6:30 pm ET on NBC Nightly News and MSNBC.com.
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2009/01/14/1745124.aspx
While it is still early, 71% approval ratings are certainly good news for the future administration. Here's hoping they maintain that rating. We've seen what good a POTUS is with an approval rating of less than 30%.
I would like to nominate SandyH as the Commerce Secretary. It will take someone like her to keep the Chamber of Commerce and the Chinese in check.
CactusBarack on January 14, 2009 at 06:27 PM
I imagine that amongst the few boxes of band-aids, gauze, and tape on that Iranian supply ship there are hundreds, if not thousands, of more rockets for the Palestinians to launch at Israel. None the less, considering the new relations between China and Iran, hopefully Iran will ask the Chinese for missiles. Considering the crap that China produces, the threat to Israel would be virtually eliminated.
SandyH on January 14, 2009 at 06:37 PM
War is indeed not a game and neither is the defense of this great nation of ours. As long as the military is a voluntary service, then there is no problem that I can see. Either the kids sign up, or they don't. I wish I would've had enough sense to stay in as I could've retired with maximum benefits this year.
Now we agree that recruiters need to tell the truth during the recruitment process. You and I have both heard too many stories of recruiters desperate to make quotas selling a "bill of goods" when it comes to military enlistment. I trust the Army to keep these recruiters under control and discipline the liars.
I still say the draft is a good idea. The conscientious objectors could do a stint in the Peace Corps or some other similar organization. Contrary to the GOP mantra of, "government is bad", service to one's nation is only second to service to one's God.
I wish I would've had enough sense to stay in as I could've retired with maximum benefits this year.

Osama bin Laden calls for new jihad over Israeli offensive in Gaza
(Intelcenter/AFP)The audio tape of bin Laden was accompanied by this photo showing the al-Qaeda leader superimposed over the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem
Philippe Naughton
Osama bin Laden has called for a new jihad over the Israeli offensive in Gaza, through an audio recording posted on Islamist websites in which he questioned America's stomach for the fight.
The authenticity of the recording could not be verified immediately, but it appeared to be a typically provocative message from the al-Qaeda leader, taunting the United States as it prepares to hand the presidential baton from George W Bush to Barack Obama.
"God has bestowed us with the patience to continue the path of jihad for another seven years, and seven and seven years," bin Laden said on the tape dated in the current Islamic month. "The question is, can America continue its war with us for several more decades to come? Reports and evidence would suggest otherwise."...

Bob,
Thank you. I guess I could ask the Chinese to write out a check for our Treasury as well as George W. Bush did. And I wouldn't have any problem telling them to play fair or we'll play with somebody else.
The Chamber of Commerce should have thought more about promoting new businesses in this country instead of supporting trade policies that end the growth of capital within our shores. Don't they have any idea how capitalism works? Who convinced them that helping your competitors and outsourcing your assets is a smart business practice?
Big business doesn't have any business running anything in this country any longer. And neither do the Republicans.

Bob,
I'm sick of this constant cycle of violence which has been going on since I was born. Why can't the "men" in the region stop acting like they are playing video games? Innocents are being killed on both sides with no place for them to get away from the fighting. Don't these idiots realize that they are all sitting ducks?
Bin Lauden needs to be silenced...once and for all. Why Bush decided that this #1 priority after 911 should be taken off the table entirely is a question I haven't heard anyone in the MSM asking. He shouldn't be allowed to leave office with out answering it.
bbl, maybe. If not, Good Evening, everyone.

That is a completely unfair characterization of military service and is beneath someone of your standing here, Pam. Military service is an honorable pursuit and has been for millenia. When you make this cavalier characterization of killing women and children in military service you are doing nothing more than the inverse of what the trolls do. Perhaps you'd like to revise and extend your remarks.

Bob's probably right. A draft would be a good thing...especially if women were also included. It would teach idiots like yourself to respect others and not judge a book by its cover.
You don't have a monopoly on patriotism. You can't even figure out what being a good citizen is.
Sandy, I agree. Bush's legacy will include not ever catching the Leader who financed and plotted the 9./11 attack on the US. Who did not even LOOK for him. Who thought he was not worth the effort! Who will go down in history as having a warning of what was coming, and ignored it.
And that last 25% of the American public who always Poll "Yes, Bush did a good job", will go right on defending him, because to do otherwise is to admit they were wrong! And it takes a big man to admit they were wrong.
War sucks. When Women finally rule this world, there will be no more war, because Women will not send their sons, their husbands, brothers into combat. They will find other ways to negotiate, compromise, etc.
I cannot wait for Hillary Clinton to take over our Foreign Diplomacy!
I am logging out, too, Dems. Have a good evening to all good Dems. Blog ya tomorrow.
SandyH on January 14, 2009 at 07:54 PM
The best argument for reinstating the draft is that it will prevent us from getting into unnecessary military actions like Iraq because we would actually take time to think about sending everyone's sons and daughters into harm's way. I often wonder how many of the 87 Senators that voted for the Iraq invasion would've changed their votes had they had children on active duty.
Good night fellow Democrats. Keep the Faith and keep the faith. Yes we can, yes we will, and yes we did!
Bob: I agree in principle; however, look at the way that the dub evaded - by pretending to serve in the National Guard. Sorry, but the richest 1% will find a way to ensure that it is not their children who are put at risk in a war. Were they to re-instate the draft, it would be my children and yours - not those paper-tiger, chicken hawk neo-conservatives who are always clamoring for more and more war!
By the way, my youngest volunteered but was not accepted for service in the Army because of an asthma problem that happened when he was 10! He wanted it so badly and part of me was actually disappointed for him but for the most part, I was ready to throw a party!
As State Increased School Aid, Grades Went Up
Thursday 08 January 2009
by: Liz Bowie, The Baltimore Sun
Five years after Maryland increased spending by $2 billion to provide greater academic equity, students have made remarkable gains in reading and math, according to a report given to the Maryland General Assembly yesterday by an outside consultant.
For every additional $1,000 spent per student, there was a significant increase in pass rates in both subjects. The improvement was twice as great for middle school students as for those in elementary grades.
The report by MGT of America also confirms what most educators have intuitively believed for decades: Money invested in teachers appears to pay off. About 80 percent of additional local and state funding has been spent on the teaching staff - raising salaries, hiring more to reduce class sizes and requiring a highly qualified teacher in every classroom.
"I think it is a validation of a leap of faith that the legislature and the governor took to continue to fund it," said state Superintendent Nancy S. Grasmick, referring to The Bridge to Excellence Act. Passed in 2002, that law put into effect the recommendations of a state education funding commission chaired by Alvin Thornton.
Grasmick said the report points out the wisdom of the legislature's decision to pass the law, which required not just an 80 percent increase in the level of funding but targeted the money to provide the most help to special education and poor students and those learning English. Students in those categories did not make as much progress in learning math and reading as did the general population. The achievement gaps are still a matter of concern, she said.
The legislature mandated that school systems not reduce the amount of money they provided schools from county budgets while the state dollars increased. Local appropriations per pupil did not drop during the five-year period, but there is still little equality among the school systems in how much is spent per pupil. Montgomery County allots more per pupil than any other system, for example, and rural Caroline County contributes least.
There will never be equality in school funding, said Jerry Ciesla, a senior partner at MGT, because each local government will contribute more or less to its school system on top of what the state gives. But, he said, there is more equity since the Thornton law was passed. There is "fairness of state funding," he said. "Those who need it the most get the most."
State dollars account for, on average, about 44 percent of the school system budgets across the state.
The report's release came the same day Education Week ranked Maryland schools No. 1 in the nation, giving yesterday's press conference in Annapolis with Grasmick and Gov. Martin O'Malley a congratulatory air. Just one year after the governor said he wanted to get rid of the education secretary, the two appeared happy to share the announcement.
First Gaza damage estimate: $1.4 billion
By KARIN LAUB, Associated Press Writer Wed Jan 14, 3:49 pm ET
RAMALLAH, West Bank – Israel's fierce assault on Gaza's Hamas rulers has destroyed at least $1.4 billion worth of buildings, roads, pipes, power lines and other infrastructure in already impoverished territory, Palestinian surveyors estimate.
Arab and Western countries will be called on to foot much of the bill to rebuild — which Palestinian economists say could take five years or more.
The Israeli military says it has bombed over 2,500 Hamas-linked targets since Dec. 27, including 250 tunnels the militant group used to smuggle in arms as well as large amounts of weapon stockpiles and rocket launcher squads.
Even with the Israeli offensive going full throttle, the international community is starting to tackle the formidable postwar challenge. Europe's top four fundraisers for the Palestinians — the foreign ministers of France and Norway, the European Union external relations commissioner and the international Mideast envoy — are meeting in Paris on Thursday to discuss Gaza's reconstruction and the possibility of holding a new donors' conference.
The last one, held in December 2007 at a time of renewed Mideast peace hopes, secured promises of $7.7 billion in aid through 2010. However, donors may have a tougher time contributing large sums in the current global financial crisis.

Name That Party... Racine Mayor Arrested For Preying On Children- Child Porn
(JS Online)
Mayor Gary Becker was arrested on tentative charges of attempted second-degree sexual assault of a child, child enticement and possession of child pornography.
Breitbart reported:
The mayor of Racine, Wis., has been accused of attempting to sexually assault a child and possessing child pornography.
The state Department of Justice says Mayor Gary Becker was arrested Tuesday night at a Brookfield mall on tentative charges of attempted second-degree sexual assault of a child, child enticement and possession of child pornography. Other allegations include exposing a child to harmful materials, using of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime and misconduct in public office.
Racine County District Attorney Michael Nieskes says he expects to file formal charges late Wednesday or Thursday.
Becker was held Wednesday in the Kenosha County Jail on a $165,000 cash bond.
Although it was not mentioned in the report for some strange reason, Mayor Gary Decker is a democrat.
Haaretz reports concern of their image and the world becoming antisemitic:
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1055222.html
This is classic Orwellian doublethink. The Palestinians are the Arab Jew's blood brothers and sisters, whom they now have killed 1000 of, 300 of them children. Here in the American Israeli Political Action Committee controlled media - we find too many people being the mere parrots of this Orwellian world. Israel's European ideology of antisemitism - unfolds in violence upon Gaza - killing semitic people - why? Like Faust in Goethe, one cannot deal with the devil and come away differently. Zionism could not bargain with the Third Reich in 1933 to transfer 50,000 German Jews to Palestine, and behave any differently than the party they bargained with.
What do you think FROMM and PamB - should we kill all the Jews?

Change!... Biden Says Obama Will Stick to Bush Iraq Plan
At an appearance in Baghdad today, Biden said that “the new administration will stick to the timetable in the [U.S-Iraq Status of Forces] agreement.” As AP writer Robert Reid points out, “Obama pledged during his election campaign to withdraw all American combat troops from Iraq within 16 months of taking office” (naturally he misses the fact that Obama actually sponsored legislation that would have removed all troops from Iraq by March of last year). The SOFA, though, provides for combat troops to remain in Iraq until 2012, with the possibility of an even longer stay if the situation on the ground warrants it.
Biden said the incoming president, though still committed to withdrawal, now “wants the withdrawal to be a responsible one,” and that he “does not want to waste the security gains that have been achieved,” according to Iraqi spokesperson Ali al-Dabbagh.
This latest is, of course, a far cry from the Obama who opposed the ’surge’ in forces and General David Petraeus’s commitment to emphasize counterinsurgency in Iraq, as well as from the Obama who both refused to admit that the new strategy was succeeding and then, even after begrudgingly admitting that some gains had been made in that Arab state, made the head-scratching claim that he would still oppose the successful change in course if, knowing ahead of time how amazingly it would succeed, he were presented with the opportunity to do so again.
'Hannity' Premiere Beats King and Maddow Combined
Don't listen to folks in the media claiming conservatism is either dead or dying, for on Monday night the premiere of Fox News's "Hannity" attracted more viewers than CNN's "Larry King Live" and MSNBC's "Rachel Maddow Show" combined.
And, in the critical demographic of folks aged 25-54, host Sean Hannity, now flying solo without longtime co-host Alan Colmes, bested his liberal competition by wide margins suggesting that it's not just older people interested in conservative views.
Here are the specifics from TV by the Numbers.com:
9 PM - P2+ (25-54) (35-64)
Hannity–2,835,000 viewers (703,000) (1,155,000)
Larry King Live—934,000 viewers (319,000) (468,000)
Rachel Maddow Show –1,341,000 viewers (441,000) (723,000)
Saving GM: Inside Crisis– 293,000 viewers (167,000) (183,000)
Lou Dobbs- 597,000 viewers (247,000) (339,000)
Maybe more interesting, Hannity by himself attracted about 400,000 more viewers in his premier than he did with Colmes in their final show last Friday. As TVNewser reported Tuesday, "The program was up 51% in Total Viewers and 78% in the demo compared to "Hannity & Colmes" in January '09."
To be fair, Monday's show included the first in a two-part interview with President Bush. Yet, it still makes you wonder if the absence of the often-annoying Colmes will be a boon for Hannity AND conservatism.
The war in Iraq is now won. Lest any of you morons try to give Hussein Obama any credit for winning it.

Green Wacko Tobacco - Meet the Real “Deniers” and “Tobacco Scientists”
By Chris Horner in Human Events
2008 was a bad year for global warming alarmists. Their credibility has been entirely destroyed by none other than Mother Nature. As George W. Bush leaves office, the world is actually cooler than it was when he came in. Lacking facts, the Gorian Gaggle is trying to tie anyone who disagrees with their propaganda to the most evil of all industries (in their eyes): the tobacco producers. Before, anyone who disputed their prophesying of a future calamity was merely a “Holocaust denier.” That didn’t work, so now, we’re all labeled “tobacco scientists.”
Why is it that everything these people say sounds as if it’s echoing up from the playground or lifted from a note passed in study hall? When I have appeared on television jointly with the president of Greenpeace USA, he has more than once struggled to yelp a “last word” variant of this “tobacco” theme. Ironically, however, JunkScience.com’s Steven Milloy has documented how it is the greens themselves who have adopted the tobacco industrys tactics.
These include a strategy of information laundering through ignoring or misrepresenting peer-reviewed scientific findings and cherry-picking facts, and attempting to shift the focus away to something other than research based on observation. Finally, of course, is their trademark effort to stifle legitimate debate and silence those who won’t accept their dogma. As John Atkinson points out in the UK newspaper, the Register, “The climate science bandwagon has come about solely because of supposed anthropogenic climate change, which means that their funding is intrinsically tied to climate change happening and being man-made. A more self-interested group I could not find anywhere, even looking at the researchers who were paid by big tobacco companies to tell us cigarettes are safe.”
Further, the premise behind most alarmist slurs, of the “tobacco scientist” variety and the ritual claims of “ties” to “big oil” or “industry,” is that a scientist’s convictions and those of other dissenters are for sale. Yet it is illogical to assume that dissenters can be bought but alarmists cannot. Looking at the balance sheets on both sides, their logic would conclude that the greatest amount of corruption occurs on the alarmist side.
With federal expenditures on climate-related research soaring above $5 billion annually - more than we spend on AIDS or the National Cancer Institute - and hundreds of billions in “rents” to corporations pushing these schemes should the alarmist campaign succeed, the potentially corrupting factor of money cannot be ignored. Someone saw a good investment in giving Al Gore $300 million for his “climate crisis” re-branding campaign. Gore’s advisor (and, officially, NASA astronomer) James Hansen and other activists receive enormous sums of money underwriting their alarmist activities, sums that no “skeptic” has ever been accused of receiving. Meanwhile Gore - the king of claiming that those who disagree are merely in it for the money - makes millions annually from all manner of enterprises premised upon the climate crisis, and his lucre will increase several fold upon passing the laws his alarmism demands.
The difficult truth is that the alarmists cannot logically fault the skeptics’ credibility without also faulting Gore’s credibility, and that of their heavily compensated alarmist mouthpieces. Yet no “skeptic” receives as much as Gore or even Hansen from shouting falsities about the issue. The delicious irony found in the global warming alarmists’ claims is that it is they who closely resemble the “tobacco scientists” they accuse those who oppose them of being, and are quite plainly the ones stuck on “denial”. Until lately people like me agreed with them that the planet warmed about a degree after the end of the Little Ice Age; we “denied” that this simply had to be Man’s doing, and they set about denying past warming and cooling periods, perpetuating a strange fantasy that climate was stable until the horrors of industrialized society. Sounds like the first sign of a problem, no?

Tell me,honestly, how did it feel on November 4th, at 11:00PM, when the race was called for Obama? Did you feel sick to your stomach, knowing you would have to come back here with your tail between your leg, and crow all over your face???????? How about when they showed pictures of the ENTIRE WORLD celebrating for the first time in History, the win by Obama and the end of the Republican Reign of Terror?? Sure was a lot more of them than even for Saddam Hussein's lynching!!! That must have curdled your old gut up, to see that YOU were in a minority of ignorant people who would rather have had another 4 years of what we went through, than a chance to make this country Great again! You and the other trolls exchange emails that night, expressing how awful you felt?? Several of them could not even face coming back here for days and weeks ! They had a little more self esteem than you do!
So tell us in great detail, how you felt, and how you continue to feel, watching millions and millions of people arranging to go to DC to watch the greatest Inauguartion in History!!!! that your predictions were nothing but jokes!!! That you are indeed, nothing but a fool.........
is it true that the presidummie is going to tie up television with his idiotic attempts to rewrite his historical legacy?? i sure hope the nitworks don't give him their prime time to blather on about his " worst ever" tenure in the white house, it will the rest of most of our lives to undo the damage this evil shithead has done.

I read with interest in the paper this morning "Scientists Hope for Better Days". Many Angered By Bush Policies, Hopeful about Obama" . they now expect to have their work published and paid attention to, now that Bush can no longer put a block on their information. Hmmmm, an ex-VP is just a two bit politician????Wonder if Cheney will win any Oscars, Nobel Prizes, or even give a shit about anything of any value now that he can go lie down in a hospital bed where he belongs!!!
OH, this is for the MN fool, who must have missed this part of the Iraqi Occupation and war going on there !!!!!
Biden -- who had been the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee -- is on a foreign visit that included stops in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Barack Obama, the incoming U.S. president, is planning to shift the military focus in the region to fighting militants in Afghanistan, while withdrawing all but a residual force of troops from Iraq.
Meanwhile, a string of bombings around Iraq's capital Monday killed eight people, including three Iraqi soldiers who died when their weapons truck was hit, and wounded at least 32, the country's Interior Ministry reported.
The soldiers were killed in a roadside bombing that struck in the Yarmouk district of western Baghdad about 10:15 a.m. (2:15 a.m. ET). The blast set off ammunition for the small arms loaded onto the truck, killing its three soldier occupants and wounding four nearby civilians.
In another incident, three civilians died when a bomb attached to a car went off outside a bakery in the eastern district of New Baghdad, followed shortly by a car bomb. Another 10 people were wounded in that attack, an Interior Ministry official told CNN.
Two other civilians died in separate roadside bomb attacks in central Baghdad -- one near Kahramana square and the other targeting a police patrol in the Sheikh-Omar commercial area. A total of seven people, including three police officers, were wounded in those attacks.
Two other roadside bombs went off near police patrols in neighborhoods on opposite sides of the city -- the Ghazaliya neighborhood in western Baghdad, and the Zayuna district on the city's east side. There were no fatalities in either attack, but 11 people -- including one police officer in Ghazaliya and three in Zayuna -- were wounded.
The U.S. military said an American soldier died as a result of a non-combat related injury on Sunday near Samarra in northern Iraq.

THIS IS BUSH'S FAILURE, FROM THE DAY HE LED THIS ILLEGAL INVASION TO THE SOLDIERS AND IRAQIS STILL DYING. AND DON'T FORGET IT, TROLLS !!!
a quick check of the evening television listings shows nbc is allowing fifteen minutes for the bush sing along. way too much time. squeeze him in between commercials for hemorrhoid relief products and mouthwashes....he might find a way to get the smell of cheney's butt off his breath...
and cbs should surely not let him interfere with grissom's last episode, grissom did more for america these past eight years than bush and grissom did nothing at all...
Gregg, the only thing that Bush is now reiterating over and over and over, to try and save himself, is that there have been no attacks here since 9/11!!!
Now he conveniently leaves out the fact that that is because it takes years to plan schemes like 9/11, and that the same borders and ports are still wide open with people coming across nightly! Any future attacks will all stem back to him and his failure to secure this land.
Articles like this one make me smile.......
"Barack Obama is likely to spend the next four years with one big advantage over his recent predecessors—a first term in the White House with his party in uninterrupted control of both the House and the Senate.
It’s an advantage no president has enjoyed since Jimmy Carter, and one that would offer Obama a unique opportunity to carry out his agenda.
In the House, where Democrats currently enjoy a 79-seat advantage, to regain control the GOP would need to pick up at least 40 seats, a result that has occurred just four times since 1950—and would significantly surpass the Democratic routs in 2006 and 2008.
In the Senate, Republicans will likely need a 10-seat pickup in a chamber where double-digit gains have occurred just twice since 1950. Complicating matters, the GOP will be defending more seats than the Democrats in 2010 and must defend four open seats—three in key battleground states after a spate of recent retirements—compared to none as yet for the Democrats

Holy Cow, does this mean that those who obstructed last time around, are now going to be big softies for Obama??? That will be a unpleasant surprise. Especially to those who were counting on more obstruction of Obama's policies !
More Republicans sign up for bipartisan dinners
Another example of who was rounded up after 9/11 in an attempt to make Americans believe that Bush was taking care of our security in his phony War on Terror! These are the type of people rounded up without any evidence at all, that they threw in there, and now pretend if released, will kill us in our beds!!
WASHINGTON – A federal judge on Wednesday ordered the military to release one of its first Guantanamo Bay detainees, a 21-year-old man who has been detained and accused of being a terrorist since he was 14.
Mohammed el Gharani, who is of Chadian nationality but had lived in Saudi Arabia, should be released from the U.S. prison in Cuba "forthwith," U.S. District Judge Richard Leon said in a ruling from the bench.
The military had accused el Gharani of being part of al-Qaida, working for the Taliban and fighting American forces in Afghanistan. However, Leon said those accusations were based on testimony from other Guantanamo Bay detainees, which he found unreliable.
"Simply stated, a mosaic of tiles bearing images this murky reveals nothing about the petitioner with sufficient clarity, either individually or collectively, that can be relied upon by this court," Leon said

Things are going from bad to worse in the waning days of the Chimp's reign of error. Imagine a town in the US having to beg for an airlift of food and fuel. It's happening in the garbage State of Alaska.
Maybe McMooseshit can sell some of Todd's boxer shorts and send the money to them.
A combination of extreme cold and high fuel prices has created a humanitarian crisis for the village of Emmonak, according to resident Nicholas Tucker. In a letter sent out as a cry for help, Tucker describes economic conditions in which families are rationing food and warmth for themselves and their children in the Southwest Alaska village of 800.
The situation could easily worsen — extreme cold that arrived early this winter and stuck around means heating fuel must soon be flown in, which residents fear will push the price from $7.83 per gallon to $9 a gallon or more.

Emmonak man seeks food airlift to combat economic crisis
Citgo has already pledged 100 gallons of fuel per household. Not a word from Exxon/Mobil, though. It might cut in to their profit by a billionth of a percent.
Heck of a job, Chimpy and McMoose.
Well, the Israelis blew up a warehouse full of hamanitarian supplies in Gaza . they are saying it was a 'grave' mistake! Yeah right!
And they wonder WHY the rest of the Middle East, and the world think they are in the wrong !
Also bombed a building holding various media reporters and employees. Couldn't be that they do not want the truth about all this to come out, now, is it?
Israeli forces shell UN headquarters in Gaza
AP – Smoke rises after an Israeli bombing in the Gaza Strip, as seen from the Israeli side of the border between … GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip – Israel shelled the United Nations headquarters in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, the U.N. and witnesses said, engulfing the compound and the main warehouse in fire and destroying thousands of pounds of food intended for Palestinian refugees. The U.N. chief, in Israel for the day, demanded a "full explanation."
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who is in the region to end the devastating offensive against Gaza's Hamas rulers, said the Israeli defense minister told him there had been a "grave mistake."
An Israeli spokesman said the bombardment, which left three people wounded, was under investigation.

Mr Obama, who assumes power as US commander-in-chief next week after his inauguration on Jan 20, pledged to try to succeed where his predecessor George W Bush failed by catching or killing the terrorist leader.
But he said that it was not essential to kill or even capture the elusive bin Laden when there were other ways to weaken the threat posed by his network

Judiciary Committee Inquiry Into DOJ and FBI Mortgage Fraud Investigation
Tuesday, October 28th, 2008 by Karina
Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers and Subcommittee Chairs Scott and Sánchez requested information and documents from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding their investigation into mortgage fraud stating, “a national crisis requires a national response, and the Department has yet to convince us that it did, and is doing, its part to adequately and promptly respond.”

Israel's True Colors Are Coming Out
If they would have had their complete way with the Bush Administration, Israel would already be at war with Iran. The majority of editorials on Haaretz news, Israel will tell you this much.
We are seeing the true colors of this 1948 state (not the biblical one that people have been propagandized with from theological midgets like John Haggee, Jack Van Impe and the 60 million seller left behind series thanks to Tim LaHaye and his buddy Jenkins).
No - this is the state - that functions like its 1933 co-founders back in Germany - with its European (Ashkenazi) led government - killing its Semite neighbors. The veil is lifting and we are seeing Israel's true colors - blood red all around them....
I see Pammy's pet monkey is here to copy/paste useless drivel to tie up the blog, that's pathetic.
A Reply to SALLY
Dear Sally,
The first distinction to make is that not all Jews are Zionists. Such as Orthodox Jews living here in the USA: http://www.jewsagainstzionism.com/
Secondly, begin to question why the History Channel only tells half the story about the Holocaust, but leaves out how 50,000 transferred out to Palestine - starting in 1933 - leaving their borhters and sisters behind to die.
Thirdly, we can end OIL dependency on the Middle East, thereby eliminating our strategic interest there.
Fourthly, cut military aid to Israel, we can't afford it any way.
Here are four paths Sally - none of which espouse the violence you have!
Shalom
The US will not abandon Isreal.
1. they are one of only two Democratic governments in the region.
2. they provide and we share intelligence with them.
3. There military superiority in the region makes them someone we want to be friends with.

Its a shame that you are allowed to post on this site. Saying that jews left their brothers and sisters to die. What would have you done? Even as early as the 1800´s jewish people were going to the Holy land. You are not the person you want us to believe you are. You are here only to stir up trouble against the Israeli people. Don´t not use the word Shalom, for you are a dog.
Is this the DNC Blog, or a moan and groan site?

sorry. The trolls love to bitch, moan, groan, and just plain run off of their mouths since November 4th.
the rest of us are JUBLIANT ! We are still smiling since November 4th, and that in 5 days we shall be grinning from ear to ear! Isn't it great??????????
This is a GREAT site for understanding Global Warming, include the extremes in cold vs hot.
Note the Source! US Dept. of Commerce, National Climatic Data Center, NOAA! No disputing this information !!
"What is the greenhouse effect, and is it affecting our climate?
The greenhouse effect is unquestionably real and helps to regulate the temperature of our planet. It is essential for life on Earth and is one of Earth's natural processes. It is the result of heat absorption by certain gases in the atmosphere (called greenhouse gases because they effectively 'trap' heat in the lower atmosphere) and re-radiation downward of some of that heat. Water vapor is the most abundant greenhouse gas, followed by carbon dioxide and other trace gases. Without a natural greenhouse effect, the temperature of the Earth would be about zero degrees F (-18°C) instead of its present 57°F (14°C). So, the concern is not with the fact that we have a greenhouse effect, but whether human activities are leading to an enhancement of the greenhouse effect by the emission of greenhouse gases through fossil fuel combustion and deforestation.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Are greenhouse gases increasing?
Human activity has been increasing the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere (mostly carbon dioxide from combustion of coal, oil, and gas; plus a few other trace gases). There is no scientific debate on this point. Pre-industrial levels of carbon dioxide (prior to the start of the Industrial Revolution) were about 280 parts per million by volume (ppmv), and current levels are greater than 380 ppmv and increasing at a rate of 1.9 ppm yr-1 since 2000. The global concentration of CO2 in our atmosphere today far exceeds the natural range over the last 650,000 years of 180 to 300 ppmv. According to the IPCC Special Report on Emission Scenarios (SRES), by the end of the 21st century, we could expect to see carbon dioxide concentrations of anywhere from 490 to 1260 ppm (75-350% above the pre-industrial concentration).
Is the climate becoming more variable or extreme?
Chicago's coldest winter in 8 years will be getting even colder
By Tom Skilling
Winter 2008-09—the coldest in 8 years—is to turn brutally cold the remainder of the workweek once snow exits Wednesday. Temperatures drop below zero Wednesday night and may remain there through Friday morning, producing what could be a 39 consecutive-hour stretch of subzero temperatures over many parts of the area (this sentence as published has been corrected). Only in the Loop and near Lake Michigan may the mercury struggle to zero (or just above) for a brief period Thursday—though that's not guaranteed

Time for Pammy to go swimming, damn that "global warming".
Dear ZOMBIE WOLF
Come out of the dark ages of these past 8 years and read. It is American Jewish Author, Edwin Black who has published an award winning book on the history you have no awareness of.
Visit: http://www.edwinblack.com/
Again, stop lumping all the Jewish people into the same Zionist ideology. The Orthodox Jews know their history:
http://www.jewsagainstzionism.com/
This is not a website of timidity - as stated above this is a website that is "kicking ass!"
It's time to wake up from the old ideologies - we are being called to become something more than zombies!
I am a mother with a nurshing heart, and it should be a crime to name little inocent children such cruel names? Children have a hard enough time being a part of the groupe of children they wish to join! I hope the State keeps them until they are adopted with a name that the child wishes.
My heart goes out to the children. Such cruel people should not be able to have children to ruin with hatered and meaness.
