Republicans Fear Losing Texas Senate Seat

Posted by Matt Ortega on January 15, 2009 at 04:16 PM

Republicans are afraid of losing another Senate seat -- this one in "deeply red Texas" -- should Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison resign to pursue her state's governorship.

Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) is reconsidering a plan to resign from the Senate this year, a huge relief to Republicans who fear that a special election — even in deeply red Texas — could give Democrats a 60-seat, filibuster-resistant majority in the Senate.

Hutchison, who plans to run for governor in 2010, has been under pressure from Republican colleagues to stay in her Senate seat as long as she can.

And if all the banks in Texas start to fail, she thinks her seat will be safe? Once Spunky is gone, she doesn't have anyone else to blame for her own bad judgment for deregulating the financial sector and outsourcing jobs.

Texas has been saved from much of the agony the rest of the country has been experiencing with its native son in the White House funneling pork to the state for eight years now. But that over. And now with the cost of oil less than $35 a barrel the pain will be hitting their economy and employment situation hard, too.

She might do well to get out of Washington as fast as possible. The Republican Party overlooked her for V.P. What does she owe them?

I am an Okie. We fight Texas hard every time. Win or lose we continue to fight their red neck ways. We have the best Governor in the world. Brad Henry. Lets make him President in 16 years. Ha. I want Hillary Clinton to be President in 8 years. Bush is and was from the beginning an idiot in everything he said and did. When I wrote against Obama and for Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Blogs cut me off and refused to allow me back in to fight for Hillary? Why Did they do that?

George W. Bush, made all his buddies richer in Texas and made the wealthly even more wealthy. The Corporations even wealthier from the WhiteHouse. The CEO's and owners took billions, while he allowed them to be free of regulations.

When Clinton was in office he closed up the loopholes, that Corporations had abused for years, by regulations.

As soon as Bush occupied the Whitehouse, he cancelled all regulations that Clinton had put in? Now we know why?

He Bankrupt Texas and did the same for our Nation!
We told the Nation about him during the Campaign but the Judges didn't listen. Did the Republican Judges owe him a favor?
