imho, this is the #1 priority before the nation.
Even if the economy stays flat for the next two years, we can still do something constructive toward insuring that every American is treated like a human being deserving health care without begging for it.
Passing universal health care legislation will fulfill our promise to the electorate. Human dignity begins with caring for the sick and disabled above sacrificing everything for war, greed, and moral hypocrisy.
My prayers go out to Secretary Daschle and his staff. May they be just and responsible in tackling this challenge.
If we can get this one right, all the rest of our problems can be addressed and solved as well. The Republicans have had us spinning our wheels off on a dead street for the past 30 years. We are now back on track toward regaining a sound footing and moving back into the fast lane of peace and posterity.
