Palin's Second Act: Same as the First

Posted by cloe on July 27, 2009 at 11:52 AM

On Sunday, former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin formally resigned her post as Alaska’s governor with 18 months left in her term. Given Palin’s popularity among right wing conservatives, there’s been plenty of speculation about what her next move will be.

Washington Post reporter Dan Balz suggests in his piece this morning that Palin’s resignation “has freed her to begin another phase of her life,” but questions whether that action will “put additional limits on her ability to rise further.”

Food for thought from DNC National Press Secretary Hari Sevugan: The fact Sarah Palin became a national punch line makes it's understandable that she'd want a do-over, but to think the perceptions of her as '”not ready for prime time” won't carry over after abruptly quitting is folly -- it only reinforces that perception. You can't bail on Alaska once the going gets tough and then ask the American people to take you seriously as a national leader.

Democrats Palin is nothing but a Russ Limbaugh Chest Piece model to capture the right wing religious elements by the right wind political forces. Palin is being manipulated like McCain did to gain an edge over Republicans. Palin is a Hollywood production of Reagon minus the credentials.

The only way Palin can have a voice is by attacking things but never offering solutions. Palin will offer a frontal attack against Democrats and the Media by Labeling them for publicity. It is better that Democrats and the Media lose her and not engage a poor picked on woman nedding compassion.

If she wants to take the Palin circus on the road, I'm sure there are any number of sheeple willing to catch her side show act along the carnival route in Red State.

However, I'm not too sure she knows how to get booked into the the big venues. Even the Huckster never cracked the big time. He's stuck on Faux News. Maybe she can aspire to that level...maybe not.

The Quitter label will dog her from now on. She really blew it. She's become less credible than Dan Quayle. Imagine that.

Why are you being so mean to Sarah? She did more to help Obama get elected than any other single person in the world! Hell I did not vote for a major party candidate since Dukakis in 88 and I voted for Obama because it would set a good precedent and because Palin scared the hell out of me. She said shit so stupid it made Bush look like Nobel prize material!

MEAN to Sarah? I agree she was the gift that just kept on giving to Obama last year, but for the media and Democrats to jump on things she came out with, was to point out how truly unqualified this person was for the highest position in the land! CAN YOU IMAGINE, six months into the new administration, where we would be had McCain and this person got elected? I shudder. And I shall make sure going forward, that every single word she utters is out there for everyone to again see. A Republican analyst said yesterday, that the more Sarah is seen---the more her approval goes DOWN!
And I am going to make sure her every move is captured!
I cannot even imagine this country going back 100 years under a theocracy with palin as the leader.
