National Day of Service and Remembrance

Posted by cloe on September 11, 2009 at 11:17 AM

Today is the eighth anniversary of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks. It’s also the first official National Day of Service and Remembrance. In communities all across the country today, Americans are participating in service events as a way to honor those who lost their lives in the tragic events of 9/11 and give back to their communities. DNC Chairman Tim Kaine led DNC members in a service event this morning at SafePlace, a nationally recognized center to end domestic and sexual violence in Austin, Texas (the DNC Fall Meeting is currently underway in Austin). In a statement released to the press Chairman Kaine said:

“The attacks of September 11, 2001 brought Americans together in a remarkable spirit of unity, patriotism, determination and compassion. The tragic events of that day serve as a stark reminder that our fate as individuals is inherently tied to the fate of our nation. I can’t think of a better way to commemorate the American spirit and the heroism we witnessed on 9/11 than by giving something back to our communities and to each other."

He continued, “The service event [tomorrow] is opportunity to honor the victims of 9/11, the heroic first responders of that tragic day and our brave men and women who have fought for our freedom. It's also an opportunity to recommit ourselves to serving our communities. Democrats will continue to heed President Obama’s call to service.”

I like Chairperson Kaine’s choice of words in describing 9/11 as a day of spirit; patriotism; determination; compassion and unity.

Attempting to properly address my country and the 9/11 spiritual survivors, I would like to say, may they rest in peace, like the U.S. Titan 2 missile from the Cold War. Knowing, that a proud nation fights for America’s International Freedom because our National American Freedom has already been won and still remains.

When family and friends of the World Trace Center victims look down in that big hole where American flesh disappeared somehow like the body of a Christ, I hope they remember that Titan 2 could have made that big of a whole; but our good country chose not to, and instead, gave a gift of peace to the world.

If I may continue from post # 1, some nations would also say that America’s ‘International’ Freedom has already been won and remains, as well. That would leave any violent international political intentions against America, rather, ‘in that big whole’ when it comes to political influence, would not it?

My country as other countries, my government as other government‘s, my administration’s as other administration’s and my politicians as other politicians has a human race right to make mistakes without being attacked by the faux military ways of the human-grouped social-dysfunctional. Most nations agree with that principle, except for some governments in the Middle East, who think it is O.K. to kill their own if their own makes mistakes, while in the meanwhile, they sometimes knowingly make mistakes their selves with playing politics with ‘different’ interpretations of Martyrdom.

I got this image of a sign being put over America’s head as defenseless on 9/11 in front of the rest of the world and I had worried that other nations would lose faith in what America stands for and in other nations own ability or in what other poorer nations hope to be someday; a strong nation. Boy, did I have it wrong at first.

I now realize that if anything the Middle East gave America on 9/11, was the ability to publicly call the Middle East on their politics that led to 9/11 without their being able to negatively accuse America of, God forbid, leading the world. Nine/Eleven left the Middle East appearing weak with leading and defending both of their national and international politics, not America.

Well, I could just take post # 2, calling DEMS ‘asshats’ on this 9/11 blog and re-post it over to the RNC blog for any impressed approval, but we don’t even know if this is a Republican, do we?

Why does not he or she just call America the king of the Jews and see if the name-calling has the power to get both American political party’s constituents to change parties?

Inadvertently or not, that post dares to test which party has more political power to influence thought on 9/11; negative words from the Republican Party’s response or the Anti-American response or positive words from the Democratic Party’s original post about 9/11. (I could do this person’s self-appointed or hired political job for the taxes from one donated six pack instead of two…)

My first post started with, I liked the words Chairperson Kaine used, and the second post from Harpo the Watchman offered the one word, ‘asshats’, to desperately counteract any positive influence from Chairperson Kaine’s words.

I’ll end with one written word: FREEDOM!

Next…
