The President's Plan for Health Reform

Dear Representatives of the United States of America;
Now that the Republican Party has clearly shown that the majority of the members of that party are unwilling to work with a bi-partisan approach to anything, and are clearly engaged in self-interest for themselves that ranks over the needs and true values of the American public, I am at a point where I must speak my mind and ask for true consequences to be shown, by individual representative, to the passing or not passing of Health Reform for America.
It becomes evident that there is a vested interest in the more affluent, more self-indulgent side of the floor, to squash any effort for reform that has any real, or perceived, detrimental effects on the profits of the huge special-interest groups that are formed by the large insurance companies in this country.
How many of those fear-mongering, anti-growth representatives are taking money, or have taken money, favors, etc., from this pool of greedy and unprogressive conglomerates? This self-interest approach by the Republican Party needs to be addressed, and addressed loudly and across the nation!
The American people need to know that the Health Reform program being presented is for our own assistance! This is not for the growth of the government, or for the takeover and reduction of the current public options such as Medicare and Medicaid, but for the insertion of a level of accountability by insurance companies and special- (and self-) interests that is unprecedented, and is clearly feared by those who are benefiting economically, and generously so, from the profitability of those same groups!
The inability of the Republican statesmen to even stand up with their nation and their peers across the aisle on issues such as “health care for everyone”, and the several other subjects that promoted benefits to the public and the people, but NOT TO THE RICH AND GREEDY, is appalling, and even traitorous to my beliefs! What the _ _ _ _ are they thinking? Is there no shame among this group of citizens? How can they be so selfish and blind that they do not agree with the most basic elements of our nation’s character regarding the rights of the underprivileged or seniors to gain dignity through proper and affordable care for their health?
I am ashamed that I was ever a member of the Republican Party! I have now terminated my membership in that party and have embraced the ideals of a government that actually is for the people, and not for the self-serving and wealthy few!
The deceptions and fear-mongering must end! The truth of this glut of self-service and avarice must be made clear, and we must expose those criminally hypocritical opponents who are against giving the public fair options. The integrity of our community must be restored by removing all of the special breaks that the affluent and the big-business community have strong-armed their way into, and return them to an impartial and equity-based culture where the rich get taxed evenly with the less-fortunate, and any tax-BREAKS are given to those who deserve them due to hardships such as illness or unemployment.
Let’s return the Republic to the elements it was founded upon – equal rights for all! Not just the rich and powerful!
Wonderful! Put it all out in plain language to combat the lies and misrepresentations.
hanks for making all this information so readily available to all who come here seeking the truth.

Hello Fellow Dems! Wow! Very well put 1mgterbush, We have worked hard for years, I was so proud of Obama, what a speech! It was so nice to see everyone there, with all that smart power in charge how could we not know our stuff???
I know Teddy is smiling in Heaven to see this, Hilary and Nancy, also Michele looked so good in pink, the Dem women are all so well eduated and talented. I am so proud to be a Dem tonight.
I am impressed with the plan, it considered all sides and so much, it is certainly heads above doing nothing or staying in the mess we are in now. I know the Dems were happy with the plan, now let's get it passed so that we can get on with our other projects like new technology and jobs, the environment, and building back up our prosperity for the future!
We can do this!
As for this plan, it's good, who can argue with that??? Only someone mean, greedy or crazy.
Smiles,
Marie, It has nothing to do with the Plan, or the need for Health Reform.
It is the only means that the Repugs have, to try and make Obama into a failure. If this Passes---it will be a huge victory for him, and they know that. That is why they also PRAY for the economy to go bankrupt, jobs to remain low, and for another attack on this country.
That is all they have. Ask them to name ONE SINGLE Republican who can come in and clean up this Bush/Republican mess, and they cannot.
So they will remain the Party of NO, obstructing this Health reform as much as they can for no other reason than political. Too bad if there are sick out there losing their homes, or people dying because they did not go to the Dr early. To take back the WH and Majority---they will stoop to any level !
PAMB,
To say the Republicans are praying for the economy to go bankrupt, jobs to remain low, and for another attack on the country seems to be an accusation based on assumptions and prejudices. This would imply that Republicans have absolutely no respect for the nation, a complete lack of value for their American brothers and sisters, and are overall completely uncivil. Why would they want America to completely tank just to say, "I told you so." I may be naive, but it is my view that if something was without a doubt best for our nation, our representatives, whether democratic or republican, would fully back it. To view Republicans as stepping in the way of everything and ONLY trying to advance their party is an incorrect view. I agree that there may be a small handful that are like this, but not the majority. In the end, both parties are working for the same country, right? So why would they stand in the way of something they felt was "right" just to get their political agenda across.
