Drop dead, Stevie. I logged on to read last nights linatic rants from th paranoid little coward in MN and there wasn't a new post since 10:23, so I cme here to see if everybody was here and I was the first one.

Unlike you, I have friends and family who don't hate me, and I also have a life, which includes going out in public and showing my face during daylight hours because, again, unlike you, I'm not the town pariah; nor do I sit ion front of a screen all day and night waiting to jump on someone.

So far today I was at the pumpkin patch (again), the hardware store, the Hallowe'en shop, took my neighbor to the doctor, and carved 3 pumpkins outside.

What, pray tell, did YOU do all day since the time you scraped your drunken ass off the floor, other than stalk the DNC blog?

You loser.

US admiral concerned about China military buildup

By JEREMIAH MARQUEZ (AP) – 7 hours ago

HONG KONG (AP)— A U.S. Navy admiral expressed new concern Friday over China's military buildup and urged Beijing to be clearer about its intentions.

With China's military growing at an "unprecedented rate," the U.S. wants to ensure that expansion doesn't destabilize the region, Rear Adm. Kevin Donegan told reporters on a visit to the Chinese territory of Hong Kong.

Donegan referred to China's expanded weaponry. His remarks echoed the concerns of other U.S. military leaders who have said the growth in China's military spending — up almost 15 percent in the 2009 budget — raises questions about how Beijing plans on deploying its new power.

"When we see a military growing at that rate, we're interested in transparency and the understanding of the uses of that military," said Donegan, commander of the USS George Washington aircraft carrier strike group, a key part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.

Donegan's comments come as a top Chinese general visits the United States on a mission to strengthen trust between the two militaries and dispel U.S. concerns about the growth of the People's Liberation Army...

Every time you set foot in a Wal-Mart or a Sam's Club you are contributing to this. Every time you buy something with a Made in China sticker or tag on it you contribute to this. Furthermore, you further empower and embolden a regime who has no concern for civil rights. Start making your voice heard through your wallet. Buy American and send a message to the Chinese that their attrocious record on human rights will not be tolerated.

Peaceman, Stevie, the bigot, must look down on people of other races, because that is the only thing that pulls himself up in his own self esteem. That is why he chooses to live in a backwoods, redneck community of inferiors, so he can make himself believe he is of any worth.

Here's a few comments on the Hinckley Chamber of Commerce board about Hinckley:

1200 people total, 92% of them are all white.

"Hinckley and surrounding areas are very rednecky. Small town with not much to do, and I have to agree with the person that said something about being a white trash area. I was in Pine City one day and I could not believe how redneck some of those people were, there is a dirty lake called Cross Lake right in town and a bunch of redneck boats floating in the dirty lake. It is a weird area"

"I grew up in Hinckley and currently live in Duluth (I moved away for school). You are correct in saying that Hinckley will not offer much as far as social activities. Most young people move away from Hinckley after high school, and a lot of those who remain in the area are sort of substandard. I hate to sound cruel, but that is my opinion. "

"Judgemental!? My friend, I have been to the area many times and it is not just a matter of what people do or where they work. I have had some of the most unwelcoming experiences in my life in the Hinckley/Pine City/Rush City area, people that look at you with that "what the hell are you doing here" kind of attitude.
Not to mention, the closed-mindedness, intolerance and ignorance of the locals.
"As the Pine City LGBT community meets for a picnic today, several residents opposed to homosexuality will meet to protest what they see as an "incorrect" lifestyle according to the Star Tribune"

"Personally I would not live in Hinckley. It is much smaller than Pine City: pop. 1,000 vs 3,000. It is also much more run down than Pine City"

Stevie could never make it in a real town or city. Thomasss and Dufus would be very happy there also. All low class, low IQ people

The Repugs Love Poll numbers so much, let them chew on this one:

Palin's Book Soars on Inflated Sales Receipts, But Her Poll Numbers Are Nosediving

As BuzzFlash editor Mark Karlin pointed out last week, Palin is selling her new book, Going Rogue: An American Life at a whopping 69 percent discount, even though it won't be officially released until mid-November. As a veteran of both the right-wing industrial complex and the book-selling industry, he notes that giving it away is a classic strategy to appear more popular than you are. It's easy to have a best seller, in other words, when your product is always on sale.

As of Thursday afternoon the book was still available for pre-sale at Amazon.com for $9. If you pair it with Glenn Beck's new tome, Arguing With Idiots: How to Stop Small Minds and Big Government as Amazon suggests, you could be eligible for FREE super saver shipping! Whoopie! Or, you can get a membership to Newsmax with this special Palin book deal, which markets itself as "much cheaper than Amazon" (using the full price of "almost $29" to make $10.92 cheaper than $9.

Of course, the memoir's impending release has sparked some unwanted parody.

One example is the work of husband-and-wife team Julie Sigwart (also an IT consultant to BuzzFlash, in interest of full disclosure) and Michael Stinson. Their version, titled Going Rouge – The Sarah Palin Rogue Coloring & Activity Book. While it may cost a little bit more at $12, it comes with the assurance that "Sarah didn’t write this book either." There are a couple of pages available online, but my favorite is the word find where guesses at Palin's running mate in 2012 are hidden. Among them: baby Jesus, Tina Fey and Joe the Plumber.

What is not a mystery, however, is her resume. And so far, that's not doing her any favors with the American people either. A CNN poll released Wednesday reveals that 71 percent of respondents do not think Palin is qualified to be president. Even among Republicans she doesn't fare too well, with nearly half agreeing with the characterization of Palin as unqualified for the job.

In the [U. S.] Senate

WEBB TAPPED TO CHAIR KEY ARMED SERVICES SUBCOMMITTEE

Senator Webb (D-VA) was selected last week to chair the powerful Personnel Subcommittee of the Senate Committee on Armed Services for the 111th Congress. As chairman, Webb will draw on his extensive experience and expertise in military and defense matters to strengthen congressional oversight over a wide range of issues relating to the welfare, professional development, and quality of life of servicemembers and their families.

As a member of both the Senate Committee on Armed Services and the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs for nearly three years, Senator Webb drafted, introduced, and passed a modern, comprehensive post-9/11 GI Bill, the most significant improvement in veterans education since World War II; spearheaded the effort to increase "dwell time" between combat deployments for active duty and reserve service-members; obtained an independent investigation to examine the effectiveness and reliability of body armor; and authored legislation that led to the establishment of the Commission on Wartime Contracting to root out waste, fraud, and abuse in Iraq and Afghanistan wartime-support contracts.

"As the son of an Air Force officer, the father of a Marine, and a Marine combat veteran myself, I understand the sacrifices that our servicemembers and their families make every day. I have worked on the issues championed by this Subcommittee throughout my life, and it is an honor to be named chairman," said Webb.

Senator Webb served with the Fifth Marine Regiment in Vietnam, where as a rifle platoon and company commander in the infamous An Hoa Basin west of Danang, he was awarded the Navy Cross, the Silver Star Medal, two Bronze Star Medals, and two Purple Hearts. He later served as a platoon commander and as an instructor in tactics and weapons at Marine Corps Officer Candidates School, and then as a member of the Secretary of the Navy's immediate staff, before leaving the Marine Corps in 1972. Following law school, Webb served in the U.S. Congress as counsel to the House Committee on Veterans Affairs from 1977 to 1981. In 1984, he was appointed the inaugural Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs. In 1987, he became the first graduate in the Naval Academy's history to serve in the military and then become Secretary of the Navy.

He now chairs subcommittees on two of the most active committees in the Senate. He was selected in January to chair the vitally important Foreign Relations Subcommittee on East Asia and Pacific Affairs. His service as Chairman of the Personnel Subcommittee will build on his strong advocacy for active duty troops and veterans.

Our compliments to Sen. Webb. He has been a refreshing change from the likes of former Sen. George Allen (R-VA). We finally have someone from the Commonwealth we can be proud of. Keep up the good work, Senator!

Fighting for Virginia

WEBB, URGES SWIFT PASSAGE
OF 14 WEEK UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS EXTENSION

On October 20, Senator Webb joined 13 Democratic Senators in calling on their Senate colleagues to pass stalled legislation that would extend unemployment insurance for up to 14 additional weeks for jobless workers in all 50 states.

In a press conference, Webb underscored that the bill would provide relief for nearly 2 million Americans, including 15,000 Virginians, who will exhaust their unemployment benefits by the end of the year.

"Unemployed individuals need assistance regardless of where they reside," said Senator Webb, a cosponsor of the legislation. "There is an inherent inequity when we calculate unemployment benefits based on state ratios, rather than recognizing the dire needs of jobless workers within state borders."

Exhibiting a map of Virginia, Senator Webb highlighted communities in Southside and Southwest Virginia where unemployment rates average 9-15%. The city of Martinsville, he pointed out, faces 20.8% unemployment.

Southern and southwest VA are Republican strongholds, here in the Commonwealth, and their local governments are chock full of conservatives. One reaps what one sows. None the less, it is good to see the senior Senator from the Commonwealth looking out for those who are too ignorant to look out for themselves. We shall save these conservatives in spite of themselves.

WEBB MEETS WITH VIRGINIANS IMPACTED BY TAINTED CHINESE DRYWALL, URGES FEMA TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE FOR HOMEOWNERS, BUSINESSES

On October 18, Senator Webb met with more than 20 residents of Hampton Roads who have suffered both physically and financially from tainted drywall imported from China. Since April 2009, representatives in the Senator's office have inquired into possible federal support for victims, opened cases on affected constituents and made federal agencies aware of each case.

That week, Webb joined Senate colleagues in asking the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to assist homeowners and businesses affected by tainted Chinese drywall. The Senators requested temporary relocation support and other emergency assistance routinely provided individuals impacted from manmade and natural disasters.

How much more Chinese caveat emptor tactics are we Americans going to tolerate? What will it take for the American people to finally realize that China is not our friends, they do not have our best interests in mind, and they are a growing threat to national and fiscal security? Our politicians, on both sides of the aisle, need to stop selling us out to the Chinese.

Chassie, the DOW actually dropped only 49.96 from Wednesday's close. The midday rise yesterday was all speculation that drove it up and the smart ones took the money and ran before the FY ends today. Just your basic profit taking.

AS I said a few weeks ago, October is the most skittish month of the year for the Markets.

By Tuesday or Wednesday it'll ALL be back, and then some.

Scroll your cursor over the trade trend line and watch the tiny numbers in the upper left border of the graph to see where it closed Wednesday, and last night, where it started today after overnight trading, and where it ended.

Not much of a fall after all. 49.96 points. Basically a half a buck.

Guess what was the #1 trending topic on Google early Friday morning? A very curious, "laura bush killed a guy."

What's causing all the buzz? A "Family Guy" episode that ran Thursday night in which cartoon characters Peter and Lois Griffin were dressed like the former first lady (Lois) and a bleeding man (Peter) for a costume party. The two repeated the phrase "Laura Bush killed a guy."

The rerun was a controversial take on a 1963 fatal car accident involving Bush.

It a damn shame this many people get their news from an episode of Family Guy. What has the average American devolved to?

There were over 58,000 American service men and women killed in the Vietnam conflict. The injured number over 200,000 - ranging from minor injuries and returning to duty the same day to permanent disabilities. As far as the Vietnamese are concerned, the numbers are unclear. Estimates have been made, claiming a million deaths or injuries during the time U.S. soldiers were on the ground in Vietnam, from 1959 to 1973.

BoB, Re: my made up example of the Legislative Language of that "OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!! IT'S OVER 1,900 PAGES LONG!!! OMG!!!"

HERE is an actual subparagraph clause:

“(a) Outpatient Hospitals – (1) In General – Section 1833(t)(3)(C)(iv) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395(t)(3)(C)(iv)) is amended – (A) in the first sentence – (i) by inserting “(which is subject to the productivity adjustment described in subclause (II) of such section)” after “1886(b)(3)(B)(iii); and (ii) by inserting “(but not below 0)” after “reduced”; and (B) in the second sentence, by inserting “and which is subject, beginning with 2010 to the productivity adjustment described in section 1886(b)(3)(B)(iii)(II)”.

Jonathan Allen at the Politico makes fun of health reform legislation for having legal terms in it

(And of course all that ""productivity adjustment described in section 1886(b)(3)(B)(iii)(II)”" crapola has to be spelled out in plain English.)

Evening all good Dems,

The asshole who is running against Korzine in New Jersey is a loser.

First of all he is buddy buddy with the bush administration.

Then he gets on tv and says he will lower taxes, cut waste and increase jobs. Yeah right, that's a plan? What a phuqing loser.

Tonight on the cbs news they were kissing his ass. Korzine said in one of his campaign addreses that this asshole is pushing his weight around. Well, the asshole and the newscasters made a big deal about it by saying that Korzine was referring to his weight. He is a fat piece of shit however.

He looks like an arrogant prick like bush. He lies. He has nothing. Cutting taxes, cutting waste and creating jobs is not a plan.

This phuqer is a typical repig. He has no plan whatsoever. He has so many adds that I think he is being funded by hannity because hannity is making a big deal about him being elected. hannity is also commenting about the election in virginia. I assume he is funding that loser too.

We need TERM LIMITS ON CONGRESS. We need PUBLIC FUNDING OF CANDIDATES. We must BAN all lobbyists making it a federal crime to lobby any member of congress or as I refer to it BUYING THEIR VOTES.
Our system has degenerated into a phuqing circus.

Deportation could leave Gaza student without degree

As it turns out, Azzam was being removed from the Palestinian West Bank and brought to the Gaza Strip. She called the experience "frightening and dehumanizing."

The Israeli military released a statement saying Azzam was "residing illegally" in the West Bank and had overstayed a permit "allowing her to stay in Jerusalem for a few days in August 2005."

Azzam, who grew up in Gaza, left her home four years ago after receiving a travel permit from the Israeli government to visit the West Bank. Azzam said she was "scared of something like this happening" and had not returned home to Gaza for that reason. She acknowledged that the Israeli government had issued a temporary permit but said she stayed on in the West Bank because it was the only way for her to attend school.

Azzam's return to Gaza means there is a strong likelihood she will not be allowed back to the West Bank to finish her studies.

http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/meast/10/31/west.bank.college.student/index.html

Gaza is nothing but a Concentration Camp that people are imprisoned there in lifetime sentences, being denied education and the chance to improve themselves. It is a place where the Israel stores people in slums, much like the Germans did to isolate the Jews in WWII in Jewish and Gypsy Ghetto's. You would think that the world would learn its Inquisition lessons.

David, there is one major flaw to your logic here, my friend. The Jews did not ask nor did they deserve what happened to them at the hands of the Nazis. They did not send suicide bombers into the crowded markets of Berlin. They did not hide in the mountains of Bavaria and rain cheap amateur rockets on to the civilians of Augsburg. And they certainly did not seek to impose their religious views on the entire planet.

The Palestinians seek to do this and more. The Palestinians need to accept the fact they were defeated in a war over six decades ago much like the native Americans do now. And while I am not naive enough to believe that simply allowing the Palestinians to open casinos would solve all of their problems, the fact remains that the Palestinians need to learn self-control. If they want to be considered as honest brokers of peace then they have to act as such. Supporting Hezbollah and Hamas, known terrorist organizations, is the antithesis of peaceful negotiations.

Israel is not completely innocent in this matter. They have had numerous incidents where civilian casualties were recorded. But this is caused, primarily but not exclusively, by the Palestinian terrorists hiding behind women and children hoping to get targeted by Israel and when the civilians are harmed using such unfortunate incidents as propoganda. In short, more often than not, the Palestinians are bringing it on themselves.

In closing, it is a shame this girl will not get her education. Education is arguably the most important aspect in creating a peaceful society. As evidenced by the previous Administration here in the U. S., you see what happens when people of below average intelligence are allowed to govern. But just like illegal aliens here, she should not have overstayed her visa. Though unfortunate in the end, Azzam got what she deserved.

Bob (Loser Man) could be anybody, not a specific person.

If she was a Palestinian that happened to be born in Gaza, does that mean she must reside there to become a Hamas supporter. If one was born a slave before the Civil War and fought to get away from it, did the northern states have to send them back to the plantation.

The situation needs to be reviewed, and if not a threat allowed to finish school, at least.

hannity is a selfish SOB. Last night on the radio he was complaining about how everyone pays taxes except lower income Americans. "It's not fair."

What part of being generous does he not get? I'll bet he was an only child and never had to share anything. His parents probably never taught him compassion and unselfishness.

On another matter, it seems to me that - at least here in New Mexico - that the rancher and farmer types are pugs. We have a lot of these types who live in southern New Mexico. They are self sufficient and don't want to share their hard earned bread. They never learned to share like our ancestors did in the nineteenth century because very few people lived in the city.

On the other hand it seems that the average person living in the city leans toward the Dems because they work jobs and are dependent on others for the money to buy bread. They have learned to share because that's what city life is all about.

Does that make sense.

I also saw the movie Grapes of Wrath last weekend and the suffering surely looked familiar. There were no jobs. A lot of people became gypsys and moved to California where they were met by the rancher and farmer types (self made men) who took advantage of them.

Thank goodness there were some good people like President Roosevelt and other who recognized the selfishness of a few and did something about it.

I do not support Hezbollah and Hamas, but I do not condemn all Palestinians. The West Bank has many that get along with all elements, and in Gaza there are some that support peace, but to take people and put them in Gaza with no way out, and a future that offer nothing as a solution to peace is wrong.
