Time to Deliver...Delivered

Posted by cloe on October 21, 2009 at 05:53 PM

Wow.

“Time to Deliver” events across the country Tuesday generated more than 315,000 calls to Congress -- more than three times our original goal of 100,000. We sent a resounding message to members of Congress that there is broad support for passing health insurance reform this year.

By all accounts, the day was a huge success. A sample of some of the coverage:

“It's fair to say that OFA is now a new kind of political muscle, one that has troops in every state and, to some degree, a networked base that has the potential to influence what the leadership wants it to do.” – Huffington Post

“Capitol Hill switchboards were flooded with more than 200,000 calls from people expressing support for health-care reform today as part of a push by President Obama's grassroots group Organizing for America and a coalition of allies.” – Philadelphia Inquirer

"Health Care "Day of Action" Overtakes Congress - Congress faced an onslaught of phone calls Tuesday from people in favor of health care reform who called Capitol Hill as part of a day of action organized by President Obama's group Organizing for America (OFA). – CBS News

We also compiled a news reel of local coverage.

Haven’t had a chance to watch President Obama’s remarks at a "Time to Deliver" event in New York City? Watch it here.

It's not too late to call your members of Congress. Pick up the phone today.

I think you will find that even more than YOUR counted numbers were called in.

I called and emailed and Faxed mine. I want to make sure he saw mine at least once.

My Rep is John Larson, who is like the 3rd or 4th highest Democrat in the House. I berate him weekly, that we do not just want his vote and support for bills, that we expect to see him out there leading the charge for them! Use his influence to demand other Democrats do the right thing.

I usually get a wimpy letter from him in the mail, with a bunch of tap dancing.
