We are so fortunate to finally have a grown up in the White House. The slings and arrows of his pathetic enemies fall at his feet and the nation and world turn toward a better outlook for future generations.

Good morning, all.

Regarding photo of day, it looks like we have a token black situation developing here.

Perhaps it's the same problem the President has in dealing with the too-big-to-fail stock brokerage banks? The coach just can't bring himself to put them on the sidelines and bring in the varsity players you can depend on?

Morning Dems........

spent the morning in the rain at the Granddaughter's soccer playoffs. Soaking wet, but the look of pride on her face when she spotted us, was worth it all. She is very competitive----don't know where she gets it from! heehee

Hope this rain lets up for trick or treating tonight.

Silly ole immature, childish Thomasss starting his weekend off spewing his hate. Oh well, now that he has no job---everyday is Saturday to him! Dum Dum Dufus hasn't been around in a whiloe---gawd, I hope he is not stuck in that lawn chair on the front porch again----he will scare the bejusus out the trick or treaters tonight. Not that the mean old man does not scare them anyways. They probably skip his house.

gee, Thomassss has a lot of nerve printing some investigations into ethics of some Dems!

This----while he overlooks and does not acknowledge or even give a damn about ALL the hundreds of Republicans listed here daily, on the Wall of Shame! Perverts! Corrupt!!! Criminal! unethical, immoral, you name it. Republicans lead the pack on this kind of low class behavior.

I would just leave out this kind of stuff Thomassssss. It only reminds us of the last 15 years of Republican shitting on this country with their abuse of power, and their latent Sexual perversions !

I'm sorry but we're sending some of the worst rain of the season your way. It was the most wet October in recorded weather history here in Missouri. But it sunny today; and we're off to enjoy the day outdoors before the ghosts and goblins come by for their treats tonight.

Have a happy Halloween, everyone.

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
— 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (NIV)

Thoughts on Today's Verse...
In our battle against evil, we use the spiritual weapons of God that enable us to know the truth and the freedom that the truth brings. The devil's greatest tools are deception and death. God's grace allows us to see through the deception and demolish its falsifying grip on the minds of men and women and on ourselves. God's power has broken through the barrier of death and given us victory in Jesus Christ. Our task in this victory march? To obey our Lord and help others to do the same, finding his grace and power sufficient to help us overcome all that we face that could defeat us.

You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.

PamB on October 31, 2009 at 01:27 PM

this a couple years old-----but even a CONSERVATIVE group finds more corrupt Republicans than Democrats !!!!

Conservative group names most corrupt politicians

GOP dominates 'most corrupt' list;

The advocacy group Judicial Watch released a list today of “Washington's 'Ten Most Corrupt Politicians' for 2006.” In a final swipe at Republican leadership in the last Congress, the list, as acquired by RAW STORY, singles out more Republicans than Democrats.

Judicial Watch describes itself as "a conservative, non-partisan educational foundation, [that] promotes transparency, accountability and integrity in government, politics and the law."

This year, according to the group, six of the most corrupt Washington politicians were Republicans whose names are often identified with the scandals widely believed to have contributed to the Democratic victory in the November midterms: Lobbyist Jack Abramoff, Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham (R-CA), Rep. Tom Delay (R-TX), Rep. Mark Foley (R-FL), Rep. Denny Hastert (R-IL), and Rep. Bob Ney (R-OH).

Of the four Democrats on the list, two—Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) and Rep. William Jefferson (D-LA)—are or have been targets of significant investigations and tainted by scandal.

But the other two—Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV)—though accused by some of serious ethical breaches, are less-widely believed to be guilty of serious malfeasance.

It is a gene in the Republican body, that just drives them to Criminal activity and Sexual perversion.

More like the power of stupidity.

You lunatic Birthers are marginalizing your party. Before long no serious candidate will want to run as a Republican in the red states much less the purple ones. Go ahead and destroy the GOP and its fund raising capabilities.

The Republicans who were backing this woman were stabbed in the back and know it. Humiliating a loyal part of the party is suicide. But then you teabaggers never look at the long-term harm. It's all short-term opportunism.

I can't wait for Palin to run in the 2012 primary. Just like you, she's got a streak of Freddie Krugger in her. Slash and burn, baby.

The Republican Party's nightmare is becoming personal.

Happy Halloween, Dierdre Scozzafava.

America's Next Unwinnable War by Ted Sorensen

Ted Sorensen, John F. Kennedy's closest adviser, says Afghanistan isn't threatening to become another Vietnam. It already is. America’s unwise, unwarranted, and sadly unwinnable war in Afghanistan—hastily initiated and then abandoned for Iraq by President Barack Obama’s ideologically blinded predecessor and dumped into Obama’s lap in the worst possible way—is beginning increasingly to smell like the 1964-68 war in South Vietnam that swallowed up the presidency of Lyndon B. Johnson. John F. Kennedy, a World War II hero in the South Pacific, did not need to prove himself “tough” to either the generals or the Republicans, and he refused to send combat troop divisions to Vietnam as urged by his own hawkish advisers. I hope Obama does not feel he needs to prove himself tough. John F. Kennedy knew that “regime change” and related problems are political problems not solved by superior U.S. military force and technology. He had successfully weathered crises in Berlin, Laos, the Congo and even the Cuban Missile Crisis through negotiations and political solutions, not superior force as urged upon him in each case by his own “hawks.” One colorful hawk scornfully dismissed talk of seeking to “capture the hearts and minds” of the Vietnamese people: “Grab them by the short hairs and drag them across our line,” he said, “and their hearts and minds will follow!”
But the Vietnamese people, who had long resisted complete occupation and domination by the French, Japanese, and others, were not so easily grabbed, and were determined to drive any would-be occupying power from their land, just as Afghans, who resisted complete occupation and domination by Alexander the Great, the British, and the Russians, are equally determined to drive out the Americans today. Nor was rule by the Taliban and their al Qaeda friends popular among the Afghan people.

By BILL McCLELLAN
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
10/28/2009

...It's bad enough that the factories are closed, bad enough that the secretarial pools have gone dry. But that has been happening for some time now. This other thing is newer — unemployed college graduates, unemployed law school graduates. It's as if some unspoken intergenerational contract has been broken.

http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/columnists.nsf/billmcclellan/story/D6B0E0E4F7FEA9E78625765C00813B73?OpenDocument

Something is broken alright. It's the trust the Reagan Democrats put in the Republicans.

From outsourcing to welfare for the wealthy, from tax shelters to the subprime credit default, from derivatives to the TARP, the American Dream doesn't work for anyone in the middle class any longer...and it's backfiring on what used to be the comfortably well off like small business people and those running small banks as well.

The top 2% have a monopoly on getting ahead...without even trying. The Republicans put them on top of this brave new world.

Yes, the trust between generations has been broken. We are not passing along a better country and standard of living to our children. The GOP planned it that way. And then they deliberately made sure there would be no easy way to fix what they broke.

Happy Halloween, everyone.

2. If i'm middle age, the your older the Methusalem.

3. I'm no fag.

4. my definition of a queer.

Hum...let's figure this thing out. Homosexuality involves sodomy. Sodomy involves sex through the anus. The anus is where excrement (poop) is voided from the human body. So sodomy is actually having sex by placing your penis in poop. Broken down into the simplist of terms...entering where the sign says exit...it doesn't sound very sensual or erotic to me. How about you Danny? Maybe it's something you're willing to accept...but me...naaaaa. Not in this lifetime

whick=which

40
chassie321 on October 31, 2009 at 11:37 PM

Danny, --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
what concerns me is a safe place for my grand-kids to grow up is what concerns me. I remember when those who practiced homosexuality never flaunted it openly or asked others to accept their behavior. Matter of fact, they were too embarrassed for anyone to even know. Times may have changed but my value system has not. What was once referred to as homosexuality is now called "gay" to try to make it more socially acceptable. Maybe what an individual does is none of my business. But when they want me to accept deviate behavior as normal is my business. What's the expression about a good man doing nothing.....?

41
chassie321 on October 31, 2009 at 11:45 PM

Danny...I also have a neighbor who is homosexual...notice I didn't call him gay. Gay in my book denotes someone who is happy...it is also a term used by the homosexuals to redefine what they are to make it socially more acceptable. I don't care what the politically correct word of the day is...they still have sex by an unnatural means.
Also, I've been reading many articles about "safe schools". These are schools where ordinances have been passed to protect those, who, for whatever reason, are different. Safe schools were origionally designed to blend in Asians, Hispanics, and various minorities into mainstream education. Guess who the backers were? Homosexuals! Their agenda was to have rules in place under the disguise of tolerance of minorities...then apply those same rules to homosexuals. That way they could legally go into the public school system and teach their agenda of homosexual tolerance. It origionally began in San Diago and now has spread into 8 states with 2 more considering. What they seek to do is undermine the teachings of the parents (their morals and value systems) and supplant with their own by using the public school systems as their vehicles

Schwarzenegger Flips Off Lawmakers In Hidden Message

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is ticked off.

He’s tired of signing bills that don’t address the pet causes he deems important. So when another unworthy bill crossed his desk recently for signing — addressing funding issues for the Port of San Francisco — the guv vetoed it and sent lawmakers a little note saying why. Only the note said a little more than lawmakers were expecting.

Buried in the text was a hidden message directed at State Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, author of the bill, according to the San Francisco Bay Guardian.

Ammiano had strongly criticized the governor in early October and reportedly told Schwarzenegger at the time to “kiss my gay ass.”

Schwarzenegger’s veto letter, issued a couple of days later, reads:

Morning Esme, doncha know these girlie trolls try and pretend they don't have sex, except to make a baby? This is why there are so many closet, latent sex perverts within the party. All that pent up sexual activity which comes out as higly perverted.

Stevie boy has such a liking of Profiling all muslims as the same and all bad, all blacks are naturally bad because of their color, all women are inferior--because none will be caught dead with him and his wife threw his ass out. He loves to hate gays, because way down deep in Stevieboy's gut----Stevie oddly gets a tingle when he repeadedly brings up sexual activity.

I see the German must be back in the States under one of his many names. Must be his Mammy's septic tank on her trailer needs to be sucked out again! There is another Mother who shakes her head and wonders 'how did this loser beat out a million other sperms'! Or maybe it was 2-3 million other sperms----I am sure she wasn't choosy the night he was spawned.
Who's your daddy, Burdie? Other than Obama, I mean!!!

Chassie, of COURSE Dufus will not indicate what his money is invested in----he HAS no money. That is why 2-3 days a week finds him out working a part time job now at his ripe old age ! You see, Pensions and SS are based on income derived during working years-------what does that tell us about Danny and his working years???? Danny is and always has been a loser in the game of Life !

And then we have MN Thomasss- likes to pretend he is here just to 'poke' Democrats. I remember clearly when MN Thomasss slithered in here, after the 2006 elections, all full of anger.
It has only grown since he has been here, and sees that

1- We have been right more times than he has

2- Americans have put him in the Minority even amongst his own Party

3- He lost his job, because of his desire to play on his Employer's computer during work hours

4- He has absolutely NOTHING, NADA, ZERO POSITIVE to say about his party and it's leaders. He, like the rest of his ilk here who are putting their hopes in Palin's Entertainment ability in order to maybe win back the WH.

Thomasss is full of fear---that he will soon be living in a country ruled totally by Democrats. Thomasss does not understand the fact that his life is good here in the USA, BECAUSE of Democrats. If Republicans had had their way in the past, Thomasss would be working at the Poor Farm now with no job. After all, thomassss, personal responsibility and all that jazz!

Chassie, I know that teaching fishing does not work---not for little children, not for elderly, not for disabled, not for veterans who come back with PSAT,the poor, not for millions of Americans, but you see Republicans have a blind spot when they argue against if we would only teach these people to fish instead of giving them a fish , is better !

Republicans also have a clever way of saying that the US Government should not take care of poor, or elderly or children, or disabled---it should be left up to the Churches. Now I would like to see Churches be able to collect billions of dollars every year---in order to pay for what Medicaid now pays for ! For food stamps, for aid to those that need it.

You know----all these Repugs have relatives who ended up in Nursing Homes on State Medicaid for the balance of their lives. But they pretend that taxes are unfair. After all, if they did not have to give the Government that money each year----why they could buy so much more so they look important to their neighbors!

Lester, i'm afraid that when the dust settles on these bank failtures, its going to make the S&L crisis, look like small peanuts. All these bank failures was created under the bush administration, they was too far gone when Obama took the reins, with no hope of saving them.

And remember, during the S&l Crisis, the Bushes had their corrupt hands in those failtures also.

60
chassie321 on November 1, 2009 at 08:19 AM

Chassie, Remember who was President during the S&L crisis?

The savings and loan crisis of the 1980s and 1990s (commonly referred to as the S&L crisis) was the failure of 747 savings and loan associations (S&Ls aka thrifts). A Savings and Loan is a financial institution in the United States that accepts savings deposits and makes mortgage, car and other personal loans to individual members. The ultimate cost of the crisis is estimated to have totaled around $160.1 billion, about $124.6 billion of which was directly paid for by the US government—that is, the US taxpayer, either directly or through charges on their savings and loan accounts[1]—which contributed to the large budget deficits of the early 1990s.

The concomitant slowdown in the finance industry and the real estate market may have been a contributing cause of the 1990–1991 economic recession. Between 1986 and 1991, the number of new homes constructed per year dropped from 1.8 million to 1 million, which was at the time the lowest rate since World War II. [2]

RONALD REAGAN == 1981 TO 1989

GEORGE HW BUSH===1989 TO 1993

deregulation under the Financial Institutes Reform and Recovery and enforcement act of 89, was their baby!

Any time in history, that a Republican was in office, they screwed this country up big time!

Wouldn't you think the American people would catch on once and for all? There are so many stupid people out there.

61
PamB on November 1, 2009 at 08:53 AM

How you Repugs love to throw around that word "Socialism". Now tell me, Thomasss, where are you picking up this framing from----which Right Wing network or source did YOU pick up and run with this?

REMEMBER THIS, Thomasss, all of the things you so enjoy today, all the benefits, all the 'so called socialist' services, were all fought by Republicans also, and you now enjoy every single one of them.

Funny, too how I have seen just over the last couple of years------States now jumping on the Gay Marriage wagon, and the DOMA being considered for it's timely death! More amusing is watching you guys squirm about gay sex acts, after that test I posted which showed that the more appalled the test subjects were at Homosexuality, that the more excited they became when watching Gay porno ! (I won't tell on you, thomassss. heehee)

And as for Abortion----this is a fact of Life. Since the beginning of time, the cave women aborted unwanted fetusus/embryos. It is not up to any man to tell any female what to do with her body ---and by driving women to desperate means to do so, endanger lives.

I think you might be surprised, Thomass should you dig deep in the truth of your Mother, your sisters, your own wife, your daughters, nieces, etc, and you will find some who went and got rid of an embryo they could not carry for one reason or the other. You see, women tend to keep these things secret---especially when they have relatives like you, thinking it is YOUR decision what they can do. OH, I am sure you would have been pleased as punch, to find your son had to support a baby for 18 years when he foolishly did not keep his pants zippered. Or your teenage daughter got date raped and you would have cared for that child like your own. Or all those poor women, who you hate to support their kids so much---why you would have gladly paid more dollars to see that they are brought into the world and fed and clothed! And of course, if fate were to suddenly find your wife pregant at her elderly age and carrying a badly deformed baby---why you would gladly have it born and take care of it for the rest of it's painful life.

So Thomassss, when you are told to MYOB about women and their bodies, understand that THEY know best about whether it is better to allow this embryo to grow and have guys like you take care of it, or to end this conception as soon as possible.

You, like Stevie, see this aborted fetus/embryo as some big plump, bouncing baby, while it is anything but yet. That is where you make your silly blind mistake. MYOB ! stick to your own dysfunctional family.

back later, Dems.

62
PamB on November 1, 2009 at 09:30 AM

oh, Cactus, your Dufus idiot-----there is a difference between between a WANTED and and UNWANTED fetus !

Yeah, we called our miracle baby, to a high risk Mother first an embryo, as it was monitored every day for weeks to make sure it was splitting the way it was supposed to, and then as a fetus as we prayed and watched it grow through numerous tests and sonograms!

YOU, who are so freaken cheap, should be happy that those women who cannot support a child, go and remove it when it is a mass of cells, so you do not have to support it with taxes!

You, too, MYOB!

Why is it always MEN who want to control this process? I say againif it were men who had the babies, this would not even be discussed !

TROLLS.... I've never said abortion or homosexuality is right, I only think it's a matter of freedom of choice. My personal beliefs don't matter, until it hits home then it does matter. Nobody should force a decision on a personal freedom, which in the case of abortion is a hard decision for any women to make. There should be laws controlling whether an individual is using it as a birth controll method, which then TROLLS, I agree abortion is totally wrong. We are all subject to law, if a women has to make this agonizing decision to stop from possibly ruining her life, then it's hers to make. What I mean by that is, her education is put on hold, more than likely given up totally, ( something you men will never have to worry about, after your five mins. of fun) how will she support her and the baby?....She is the only one who can make those decisions.

Men should just stfu about this subject.

65
chassie321 on November 1, 2009 at 10:17 AM

You men that is always blowing off about abortion.

How would you all like it if the women of the world started a movement, that all men had to have a Vactectomy say by the time your 35 years old. This would certainly stop a lot of abortions.

66
chassie321 on November 1, 2009 at 10:24 AM

Good morning, all.

Pammy will like this one. Because Pammy hates strong women....

Strong women don't quit important, high profile jobs.

But conservative opportunists know that their window of opportunity is small and that they have to chuck their responsibility quickly to exploit a situation. Unfortunately for Palin, the American public has her ticket priced right about where it belongs since the McCain/Palin debacle.

Her continued support by the lunatic fringe of the Republican Party calls into doubt what the entire party now represents. They like to say they are promoting all kinds of religious and patriotic ideals. To settle for such a lamebrain, opportunistic quitter indicates something else entirely.

Burdbrains of a feather tend to flock to whatever roadkill that can be found on the interstate. Apparently, the only strategy the GOP has left is to exploit the problems of others before the truth of their irresponsible actions...and the law...catches up with them.

Palin is a strong woman with a weak excuse for her dysfunctional, anit-social behavior. She now represents the GOP ideal?

She and fellow conservative opportunists like Beck and Limbaugh are making so much money off the stupidity of their followers that they figure it won't matter when they finally get caught.

I feel sorry for the bookstores which are getting stuck with her tomb of Alaskan fairy tales as the price of getting distribution of real sellers. By the time Palin's book ends up on the $1 Store shelves, maybe her admirers will be able to afford it?

Take the money and run away from the consequences of your irresponsible actions and incompetence. There are enough suckers born every day...and they will all be holding Palin's book.

The Carter-era Community Reinvestment Act forced banks to lend to uncreditworthy borrowers, mostly in minority areas.....

It took them almost 40 years to cash in on this bonanza? Crooks don't work that slow.

And it was the big stock brokerages not community banks who took advantage of the opportunity. And the financial houses didn't even lose anything because of Bush's TARP. What's your problem?

You think anyone would believe that this legislation had anything to do with the current economic meltdown? You casually jump over all the deregulation schemes Phil Gramm and his GOP coharts of the last 15 forced on the system?

Most voters either don't know who Jimmy Carter is or thought he died a decade ago. If you have to go back that far (and aren't even trying to blame Clinton for anything any longer), you're pretty hard up for excuses and entertainment.

If I was you, I'd continue putting my efforts directly toward attacking and defeating Republican candidates. That will make us all happy.

Speaking of opportunists...

Gorbachev: Bush once told me that ‘blockheads and dummies’ were supporting the ‘extreme’ Reagan.

During a recent interview with The Nation editors Katrina vanden Heuvel and her husband Stephan Cohen, former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev credited President Reagan for helping end the Cold War, but he argued that instituting democratic reforms in his country was the true catalyst. “Without perestroika, the cold war simply would not have ended,” he said. Gorbachev later described a private conversation he had with then Vice President Bush about Reagan:

By the way, in 1987, after my first visit to the United States, Vice President Bush accompanied me to the airport, and told me: “Reagan is a conservative. An extreme conservative. All the blockheads and dummies are for him, and when he says that something is necessary, they trust him. But if some Democrat had proposed what Reagan did, with you, they might not have trusted him.”

When asked what lessons he learned “that President Obama should heed in making his decisions about Afghanistan,” Gorbachev – who ended the Soviet Union’s 10 year war there in 1989 — replied, “One was that problems there could not be solved with the use of force. Such attempts inside someone else’s country end badly.”

A Senate Naysayer, Spoiling for Health Care Fight

By MARK LEIBOVICH
October 29, 2009

WASHINGTON — Senator Tom Coburn’s office is the rare Capitol Hill work space without a “me wall” — the display of photographs of a lawmaker standing beside presidents, foreign leaders and other dignitaries, all illustrating How Big a Deal he is.

Instead, hanging above Mr. Coburn’s desk is a large framed print of the word “no.” It was a tribute from a liberal voter in New York thanking Mr. Coburn, a conservative Republican from Oklahoma, for his efforts at thwarting expensive legislation.

Known as Dr. No, Mr. Coburn, a family practice physician, views legislative battle less in terms of Republicans versus Democrats than as a matter of yes versus no. He sees himself as a one-man treatment center helping Congress beat its bipartisan addiction to misguided spending.

“I’ve always considered myself an opposition within the opposition,” said Mr. Coburn, whose willingness to block, delay or neuter bills through an array of procedural measures has made him an effective nuisance during his five years in the Senate...

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/30/health/policy/30coburn.html?_r=1&th&emc=th

Who does he think he's fooling. This guy is an abortion doctor.

He based his practice on Sarah Palin logic. He doesn't treat his patients, he starves them to death in a slow unmerciful manner...for their own good.

How Goldman secretly bet on the U.S. housing crash

November 1, 2009
By Greg Gordon
McClatchy Newspapers

WASHINGTON — In 2006 and 2007, Goldman Sachs Group peddled more than $40 billion in securities backed by at least 200,000 risky home mortgages, but never told the buyers it was secretly betting that a sharp drop in U.S. housing prices would send the value of those securities plummeting.

Goldman's sales and its clandestine wagers, completed at the brink of the housing market meltdown, enabled the nation's premier investment bank to pass most of its potential losses to others before a flood of mortgage defaults staggered the U.S. and global economies.

Only later did investors discover that what Goldman had promoted as triple-A rated investments were closer to junk.

Now, pension funds, insurance companies, labor unions and foreign financial institutions that bought those dicey mortgage securities are facing large losses, and a five-month McClatchy investigation has found that Goldman's failure to disclose that it made secret, exotic bets on an imminent housing crash may have violated securities laws.

"The Securities and Exchange Commission should be very interested in any financial company that secretly decides a financial product is a loser and then goes out and actively markets that product or very similar products to unsuspecting customers without disclosing its true opinion," said Laurence Kotlikoff, a Boston University economics professor who's proposed a massive overhaul of the nation's banks. "This is fraud and should be prosecuted."...

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/227/story/77791.html

Opportunists. They struck while they had the opportunity with a corrupt administration and a series of Republican Congresses that gave them the key, a green light...and a TARP.

Is the real reason Geithner was brought in by Obama? So the Justice Department could get enough of the details to eventually prosecute the crooks?

I really don't see any other reason Geithner is still in the White House. He knows nothing about how real banks work and credit markets work. If you don't believe me, see what he's saying today:

After financial institutions were widely blamed for assuming too much risk and bringing the economy to the brink of collapse, Geithner said a concern now is that they might end up being too timid.

"The big risk we face now is that banks are going to overcorrect and not take enough risk," he said. "We need them to take a chance again on the American economy. That's going to be important to recovery."

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/01/geithner-on-meet-the-pres_0_n_341390.html

Community banks don't want to do business with Wall Street any longer. They were forced or tricked into taking risks they didn't realize existed.

Why don't we just deregulate the deregulation the Republicans recklessly instituted? Cut the cord between the stock brokerages and the banks. Keep risk where it belongs in the Dow and commodities markets and out of mainstream American towns and cities.

If we do, the credit markets will grow and small businesses will evolve. Otherwise, we will be stuck with Bush's Blunder and a re-occurring cycle of boom and bust. There will be no equity building or job creation till the cord is cut.

Let our community banks go...as far away from the speculators and crooks on Wall Street as they can.

Panoramic image shows stars 1,000 times fainter than human eye can see

A new panoramic image of the full night sky — with the Milky Way as its centerpiece — has been made by piecing together 3,000 individual photographs.

The panorama's creator, Axel Mellinger of Central Michigan University, spent 22 months and traveled over 26,000 miles to take digital photographs at dark sky locations in South Africa, Texas and Michigan.

"This panorama image shows stars 1,000 times fainter than the human eye can see, as well as hundreds of galaxies, star clusters and nebulae," Mellinger said...

Beijing's first snow of season 'artificially induced'

Monday, November 2

BEIJING (AFP) - – Chinese meteorologists covered Beijing in snow Sunday after seeding clouds to bring winter weather to the capital in an effort to combat a lingering drought, state media reported.

The unusually early snow blanketed the capital from Sunday morning and kept falling for half the day, helped by temperatures as low as minus 2 Celsius (29 Fahrenheit) and strong winds from the north, Xinhua news agency reported.

Besides falling in the northeastern provinces of Liaoning and Jilin and the northern province of Hebei, the eastern port city of Tianjin also got its first snow of the autumn, the report said.

"We wont miss any opportunity of artificial precipitation since Beijing is suffering from the lingering drought," the report quoted Zhang Qiang, head of the Beijing Weather Modification Office, as saying.

Chinese meteorologists have for years sought to make rain by injecting special chemicals into clouds.

Although the technique often gets results, a drought in the north of the country has continued for over a decade.

Atacama Desert
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Coordinates: 24°30′S 69°15′W / 24.5°S 69.25°W / -24.5; -69.25

Atacama redirects here; for other uses, see Atacama (disambiguation).

Atacama by NASA World Wind
A chilla in Pan de Azúcar National Park in the coast of Atacama Desert.

The Atacama Desert is a virtually rainless plateau in South America, covering a 600-mile (1,000 km) strip of land on the Pacific coast of South America, west of the Andes mountains. The Atacama desert is, according to NASA, National Geographic and many other publications, the driest desert in the world.[1][2][3] The rain shadow on the leeward side of the Chilean Coast Range and the Andes, as well as a coastal inversion layer created by the cold offshore Humboldt Current, keep this over 20 million-year-old desert[4] 50 times drier than California's Death Valley. The Atacama occupies 40,600 square miles (105,000 km2)[5] in northern Chile, composed mostly of salt basins (salares), sand, and lava flows.
Driest desert

The Atacama is the driest place on Earth,[9] and is virtually sterile because it is blocked from moisture on both sides by the Andes mountains and by the Chilean Coast Range. A coastal inversion layer created by the cold Humboldt Current, and the anticyclone of the Pacific are essential to keep the climate of the Atacama dry. The average rainfall in the Chilean region of Antofagasta is just 1 millimetre (0.04 in) per year. Some weather stations in the Atacama have never received rain. Evidence suggests that the Atacama may not have had any significant rainfall from 1570 to 1971.[5] It is so arid that mountains that reach as high as 6,885 metres (22,590 ft) are completely free of glaciers and, in the southern part from 25°S to 27°S, may have been glacier-free throughout the Quaternary, though permafrost extends down to an altitude of 4,400 metres (14,400 ft) and is continuous above 5,600 metres (18,400 ft). Studies by a group of British scientists have suggested that some river beds have been dry for 120,000 years.

I noticed that you used my words, in one of your posts this morning. Which i guess you belief the same as me on that subject. The difference is i don't have to be a Republician. And i don't call everybody that disagrees, with me a fag.

Neo-dunce claims Turd never said I had a ranch.
Turd points out that he called me an idiot (as if that has any bearing on me having a ranch).
And Dufus is so stupid, he marches off and starts posting stupid crap from Rush LImpballs (because he knows he is really trailer-park trash living on SS).

Your Palin logic demonstrates why you can only see as far as maybe Russia. When you are having a semi-good day, you're near sighted at best.

That there could possibly be a cause and effect for anything in life is beyond your intelligence. The shit you Republicans cause could not possibly be your fault?

For an ideology that regularly screws up every time you get in power, you'd think that someone might start worrying about your continual "bad luck". Perhaps it's your experts or your leadership? Palin and Beck should be the answer to that problem? Send in the clowns. Don't bother they're here.

Dufus, do you have a ranch? Do you own it?

But we would all like to know, "boss".

We get your conservative Republican message loud and clear: Sex in the root of all evil not greed.

That Democrats might be getting some and you aren't (unless you pay for it and even then don't enjoy it) makes you more frustrated than Larry Craig or Tom Foley.

So you complain about everything else. We know what your real problem is.

You really don't care about abortion, taxes, or guns. It all starts and ends with your lack of intimacy with the rest of the human race. You're scared of your own shadow.

It won't get any better in Purgatory, Hell, or even Heaven. You need to find your humanity and start caring about someone besides yourself. It will plague and torture you no matter what comes next.

Tsk, tsk. All the lonely people. Where do they all come from...besides the Republican Party and its all consuming love of money and war?

Not even the health care reform bill can cure what ails you. You don't want to be helped. Feeling wrongly oppressed or exploited by others is the only thing that allows you to feel...anything.

Get thee to a nunnery and loosen up a bit. The only sin in this world is not living it to the fullest.

bbl.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Really?
The Return of Depression Economics and the Crisis of 2008 by Paul Krugman
178
Harpo_TheWatchman on November 1, 2009 at 02:24 PM
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Really!

He didn't write any book about how to invest, and your stupid post is for a book about Governmental Economic Policies in a Macro-Economic Vein.

It is NOT about "how to invest", but which Governmental and International policies would best mitigate the "Bubble & Bust" cycles we have been going through since the mid 80s.

Depression economics is when conventional economic wisdom no longer applies. In a "normal" recession the Federal Reserve would lower interest rates in order to stimulate consumption and investment. According to Paul Krugman, that remedy is no longer getting any traction. He claims it's time to cast conventional economic wisdom to the wind. The economy is in such a deep hole that he's calling for another $600 billion in federal outlays. This is in addition to the $700 billion already asked for by Treasury Secretary Paulson, and looks very similar to Obama's spending plans for next year.

And

...While I like Paul Krugman's clear, informal writing style and use of analogies to past crises, I didn't find these episodes to be explored as deeply as I would have liked. This book seems more suited to people who are new to macroeconomics. For example, the babysitting coop analogy is a classic, and still one of the clearest, simplest ways to explain the interaction between monetary policy, aggregate demand, and consumer behavior. More data and a few charts would have helped to illustrate the economic and market conditions around the asian and latin american crises, and helped to put the magnitude of these (and the current crisis) in perspective...

And

I did not come to this book with high expectations. I am conservative, and Paul Krugman, of course, is a highly visible liberal. I expected some sort of left-wing soft-headedness.

I was surprised by the quality of what I read. The content of the book was quite different than I had anticipated, and Krugman's path to his expected ringing endorsement of Keynes was not at all what I would have expected.

Most of the book has nothing to do with the current crisis. Instead, he goes through a series of vignettes about the international crises of recent decades, from the various Latin American debt crisis to those in East Asia and Japan to the Russian one. In each case, he builds a growing argument that, with the increased interconnectedness of the international financial system, national economies have become peculiarly vulnerable to panics by investors which destroy their finance systems.

etc., etc., etc..

BTW, all these quotes and citations are from the Amazon site that YOU posted w/o a link, so YOU are the source, and it is obvious that you NEVER read past the first 2 lines. This book has ABSOLUTELY to do with "how to invest".

The Return of Depression Economics and the Crisis of 2008 (Hardcover)

So, in short, Chassie is correct, and YOU are pulling things out of your ass (as opposed to inserting them as is your wont).

I see you resurrected your old nreo-con moniker for old times' sake.

CactusDanny on November 1, 2009 at 03:06 PM

He can get it free on the internet tubes.

Nobody is buying newspapers any longer except the Wall Street Journal. And that's only because conservatives got so much TARP money from the rest of us taxpayers that they don't know what to do with it...just like the top 2%.

Instead of buying newspapers they could get free and probably don't read (much less understand), why don't the Republicans just give the money back so it could be used to stimulate the economy with infrastructure projects, pay for veterans benefits, or fund health care coverage for everyone?

later, maybe.

One for the road...

How it went down
The little accident that toppled history

By Mary Elise Sarotte
Sunday, November 1, 2009

BERLIN -- Once events make their passage from news of the day into history books, it is hard to imagine that they could have happened any other way. They're history, after all. And 20 years later, the fall of the Berlin Wall seems like that kind of history -- a world-changing event that we commemorate and celebrate, its heroes and villains well established, its images and significance clearly comprehended.

But the real story of the wall coming down is a lot less tidy than it may appear in the rear-view mirror. The "decision" to open the border was not a conscious choice at all. Instead of a reassuring victory for the forces of freedom, it was a chaotic and potentially violent mess. One of the most momentous events of the past century was, in fact, an accident, a semicomical and bureaucratic mistake that owes as much to the Western media as to the tides of history.

So what really happened?...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/10/30/AR2009103001846.html?hpid=opinionsbox1

And all these years the Republicans said that Reagan brought down the Berlin Wall. It was just another Palin fairy tale. The conservatives have yet to win any war...cold or otherwise.

O.K. I can't help it.

What in the hell do you think comes out of the vagina? Do you know what a vagina is? Have you ever been close enough to one to realize what intercourse is?

I can't believe how illiterate these teabaggers are. They must have been hatched from eggs and then kept alive on fire and brimstone. All the openings "down there" are also involved in elimination.

This is the reason why only idiots like Palin don't want sex education (or science) taught in schools. So they can think that intercourse is somehow sacred? It isn't. It's just human anatomy.

Geeze.

I'm logging out. I'm beginning to feel like Dr. Phil. These Birthers are hopeless.

The early division of the Zygote into blastomeres is most certainly able to be examined, and in high risk pregnancy they most certainly are !

What on earth makes you think the Father ever split? You have been going by Stevieboy again, and you know how wrong he has been about everything. Shall I show you a few of his predictions and facts about things that he was made a fool of?

132
PamB on November 1, 2009 at 04:45 PM

Here's a little educating for you:

The zygote now begins to cleave, with each division occurring into two cells called blastomeres. The zygote's first cell division begins a series of divisions, with each division occurring approximately every twenty hours. Each blastomere within the zona pellucida becomes smaller and smaller with each subsequent division.

When cell division generates about sixteen cells, the zygote becomes a morula (mulberry shaped). It leaves the fallopian tube and enters the uterine cavity three to four days after fertilization

"Palin is a strong woman with a weak excuse for her dysfunctional, anit-social behavior. She now represents the GOP ideal?"

"She and fellow conservative opportunists like Beck and Limbaugh are making so much money off the stupidity of their followers that they figure it won't matter when they finally get caught. "

Sandy, Palin is NOT a strong woman. I have been reading about her history in several different publications, and if not for her Entertainment ability, like Limbaugh, Like Beck, she would be relegated to the nothing that she is. She has the ability to use speech with LOUD, emotional rhetoric, and that is all she has. That is why her baloon dried up so quickly.

Do you know that when they found out they had lost the election, they knew they were for a few days prior, and she had a speech written, which was even loaded onto the teleprompters because SHE wanted to talk after McCain conceded. Well the aides told her NO, it was not protocol to do that, so she went to McCain, and he told her NO too, and that is why the body language on that stage that night was so cool ! she was plenty pissed she could not get up and keep her Extreme right wing fringe element whetted up for her "coming".
To the end, she thought and said that the only reason people voted for McCain was because of her!

Have you ever seen an ego so large?

It looks like Sorry Failin's plan to become the head of the "new'" Conservative Party" and run for President is falling apart at its store bought seams. Her dream of starting a "movement" of hicks, Separatists, Fundies, and Racists has claimed its first casualty, and it is backfiring.

HOFFMAN CALLS SCOZZAFAVA A 'TURNCOAT'
Lifelong Republican throws her support to Democrat Owens

Mr. Owens said he was “honored” by the endorsement.

“Over the course of her career, Dede has always committed to serving the people of Upstate New York before serving a partisan agenda,” he said in a statement. “Now more than ever we need bipartisan solutions to help bring jobs to Upstate New York to get our economy back on track and move our country forward. Those are the kinds of priorities I will fight for in Congress because that's the kind of leadership Upstate New York needs right now.”

(...)
Those in the camp of the Conservative candidate Douglas L. Hoffman called Ms. Scozzafava a turncoat.

“This afternoon Dede Scozzafava betrayed the GOP,“ Senior Communications Advisor Rob Ryan said in a statement. “She endorsed a Pelosi Democrat who will spend more, tax more, and push the liberal agenda that is dragging down this nation.”

"...betrayed the GOP,“??

HE is the one who screwed with a sure Pug win in that District, and Hoffamn doesn't even live there, nor does he know a damn thing about the concerns of the constituents. He was just running to promote an ideology in D.C.

The Pugs have held that seat in every redistricting and permutation since it was drawn up 140 years ago and now the Dem has a shot of winning it ALL BECAUSE OF SORRY FAILIN AND HER ARMEY OF DICK meddling there.

tee + hee,

139
Doo-Bee-Doo-Bee-Doo on November 1, 2009 at 05:00 PM

From the link in my previous post, an excerpt from Scozzafava's endorsement statement:

You know me, and throughout my career, I have been always been an independent voice for the people I represent. I have stood for our honest principles, and a truthful discussion of the issues, even when it cost me personally and politically. Since beginning my campaign, I have told you that this election is not about me; it's about the people of this District.

It is in this spirit that I am writing to let you know I am supporting Bill Owens for Congress and urge you to do the same.

It's not in the cards for me to be your representative, but I strongly believe Bill is the only candidate who can build upon John McHugh's lasting legacy in the U.S. Congress. John and I worked together on the expansion of Fort Drum and I know how important that base is to the economy of this region. I am confident that Bill will be able to provide the leadership and continuity of support to Drum Country just as John did during his tenure in Congress.

In Bill Owens, I see a sense of duty and integrity that will guide him beyond political partisanship. He will be an independent voice devoted to doing what is right for New York. Bill understands this district and its people, and when he represents us in Congress he will put our interests first.

Please join me in voting for Bill Owens on Tuesday. To address the tough challenges ahead, we must rise above partisanship and politics and work together. There's too much at stake in this election to do otherwise.

Dede

Maybe Obama was figuring this thing would happen way ahead of time, when he named McHugh to be Secretary of the Army? Take a secure Pug District and throw it to the Birthers and other assorted loonies who would kill the local Pug Party. If the loonie wins he will only be a back bencher for 2 years and it was always a Pug seat, so nothing to lose at it's outset, and everything to gain if it works.

As for VA"? He ran a shitty campaign and everybody knew it. It is only a referendum on his lackluster campaign, that's all.

Ahem, you CAN'T use this site as a campaign tool (especially in light of your running for a national Office as a Third Party candidate). It could be inferred as an "in kind" payment, in violation of the FEC Rules. Can your Campaign coffers cover any possible fine?

Here is another one of those subjects that Repugs like to overlook. They say 'don't give them health care-----teach them to become Doctors let them treat themselves!" !

44,000 Americans Die!

November 01, 2009 "Information Clearing House" -- Yes that number is correct, and most of those that die are children that get no medical care in this nation, every year: Because the nation values making war upon strangers over taking care of the most basic needs of American citizens. The numbers claim that this is from the lack of Health-Insurance; but that’s a lie—they die because there is no CARE being provided whether people are insured or not.

“More than 44,000 Americans die every year — 122 every day — due to lack of health insurance. That’s the startling finding of a new study — Health Insurance and Mortality in U.S. Adults –- that appears in the current issue of the American Journal of Public Health.

The 44,000 dead a year estimate is about two-and-a-half times higher than an estimate from the Institute of Medicine in 2002.

The Harvard-based researchers found that uninsured, working-age Americans have a 40 percent higher risk of death than their privately insured counterparts, up from a 25 percent excess death rate found in 1993.

“The uninsured have a higher risk of death when compared to the privately insured, even after taking into account socioeconomics, health behaviors and baseline health,” said lead author Dr. Andrew Wilper. “We doctors have many new ways to prevent deaths from hypertension, diabetes and heart disease — but only if patients can get into our offices and afford their medications.”

No it won't, idiot. It will just embolden all the rest of the lunatic fringe to decimate THEIR local Pug Parties and split that rump Regional dinosaur into even smaller pieces. That was a secure Pug District. Now, it's NOT.

It will also hasten the rise of Sorry Failin's New Conservative Party. Maybe then Alaska can secede?

We'll just tell them "See ya, and thanks for all the fish".

And of course we will keep the oil and other minerals.

Rev. Al Sharpton's Ex-Wife, Daughter Arrested in New York
Sunday, November 01, 2009

Print ShareThisNEW YORK — The Rev. Al Sharpton's ex-wife and their daughter have been arrested during a dispute over a traffic stop.

Lawyer Michael Hardy says Sharpton's former wife, Kathy Jordan, and Dominique Sharpton were arrested Friday evening in Manhattan.

Hardy says the women were arrested when a dispute erupted after police pulled over the car Dominique was driving for allegedly running a red light.

The women were taken to a nearby precinct and later released. They were given tickets for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and obstruction of governmental administration.

Hardy called the arrests "highly questionable and unusual."

Police would not comment on the incident except to say that the women were issued tickets to appear in court for an arraignment.

Sharpton's ex & kid cuffed in 'cop rage'By LARRY CELONA

Last Updated: 10:30 PM, October 31, 2009

The rabble-rousing Rev should give his daughter a sermon about road rage.

The Rev. Al Sharpton’s ex-wife and daughter were arrested last night after berating a pair of Harlem cops who pulled them over for running a red light in the wrong lane to get around their slow-moving, unmarked cruiser, sources told The Post.

Kathy Jordan, 53, and her daughter, Dominique Sharpton, 23, were handcuffed and hauled to a precinct, where the raging reverend’s daughter tried to no avail to get off the hook because of her family ties, the sources said.

They were issued desk appearance tickets before being set free.

The road rage incident began around 7:30 p.m. on West 110th Street and Eighth Avenue as Dominique became frustrated as she drove behind the crawling police vehicle, the sources said.

Sharpton honked her horn and tailgated the vehicle from the NYPD’s Housing Bureau before finally losing her cool.

She furiously swerved across the double yellow line and sped through a red light to get past the cop car.

The officers pulled her over, and both she and her mother became belligerent and argumentative, the sources said.

They were both slapped in handcuffs and thrown in the cruiser.

Dominique Sharpton was charged with resisting arrest, and issued summonses for crossing a double yellow line and running a light.
Jordan was charged with resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration, police said.

Sources added that Dominique Sharpton dropped her dad’s famous name at the stationhouse before being released.Attorney for Al Sharpton said called the arrests and desk appearance tickets "highly questionable and unusual," and said the civil-rights leader would look into the case.
"How what was apparently a minor traffic dispute ended up with two arrests with desk appearance tickets is highly questionable and unusual. We will pursue all answers in this matter," said the attorney, Michael A. Hardy.

"Reverend Sharpton has been made aware of the details of the matter and will aggressively support his daughter and her mother, despite their announced change of marital status in 2003. He has instructed his attorneys to seek answers and justice in this matter."

Both Jordan and her oldest daughter live in Brooklyn. Someone who answered the door at their home refused comment and asked a reporter to "leave the premises. We don’t talk to the press here."

Jordan — a former backup singer for James Brown — was married to the longtime civil rights activist Sharpton for 23 years before they announced their split in 2004.

The pair, which would have celebrated their wedding anniversary yesterday, has one other daughter, Ashley.Dominique Sharpton works for her father’s National Action Network.

She was recently named the interim director of membership, according to the organization’s Web site, which said she "brings a host of experience in entertainment, business management and years of seeing and working with her internationally-known father, Rev. Sharpton, to her new position."

She is also the production events director and a "working actress," according to her Twitter page.

She told Amsterdam News in a 2008 interview that following in her father’s footsteps was, "not something I really planned on doing, but I know it’s something I have to do. Being his eldest daughter, it’s my responsibility."Additional reporting by Kathianne Boniello

This hero was on Gps on CNN this afternoon. He said most of his emails are from military from Afghanistan, telling him to keep telling it how it is. that unlike Iraq this can never be won----and if the US should suceed in driving out alQaeda, they would refuge in plenty of other Middle East countries!

WASHINGTON — A former Marine who fought in Iraq, joined the State Department after leaving the military and was a diplomat in a Taliban stronghold in Afghanistan has become the first U.S. official to resign in protest of the Afghan war, the Washington Post reported early Tuesday. Matthew Hoh said he believes the war is simply fueling the insurgency. "I have lost understanding of and confidence in the strategic purposes of the United States' presence in Afghanistan," Hoh wrote in his resignation letter, dated Sept. 10 but published early Tuesday. "I have doubts and reservations about our current strategy and planned future strategy, but my resignation is based not upon how we are pursuing this war, but why and to what end." Richard Holbrooke, the administration's special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, told the Post he disagreed that the war "wasn't worth the fight," but did agree with much of Hoh's analysis. [1] A former Marine captain with combat experience in Iraq, a uniformed officer at the Pentagon, a Foreign Service officer in Afghanistan, Hoh served as a civilian at the State Department and senior U.S. civilian in Zabul. In a courageous move that stunned his fellow officers and senior officials, last month Hoh wrote a four page letter of resignation to the department's head of personnel in protest over the Afghanistan war which the Washington Post published this morning. 'I have lost understanding of and confidence in the strategic purposes of the United States' presence in Afghanistan," he wrote. 'I have doubts and reservations about our current strategy and planned future strategy, but my resignation is based not upon how we are pursuing this war, but why and to what end. Senior U.S. officials responded immediately and appealed to Hoh asking him to stay. Hoh was brought to Kabul by U.S. Ambassador Karl W. Eikenberry and offered a job as part of his senior embassy staff to which he declined. He was then flown to a meeting with Richard C. Holbrooke, the administration's special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan. 'We took his letter very seriously, because he was a good officer,' Holbrooke told The Post. 'We all thought that given how serious his letter was, how much commitment there was, and his prior track record, we should pay close attention to him." Holbrooke agreed with much of Hoh's analysis but did not share in his view that the war 'wasn't worth the fight.'

Americans have lost their patience with an Endless War that is killing off our boys for nothing !!! He said in maybe 5-6 years, perhaps we will have gotten the government to be better run----but the end result will have no effect on the US nor the world.

GOP House leader says moderates wanted in party

WASHINGTON – House Republican leader John Boehner says the GOP wants moderates in the party and calls the special election for a New York congressional seat an unusual situation.

The Republican nominee in an upstate New York district dropped out of the race Saturday, just days ahead of the Tuesday election. Moderate GOP candidate Dierdre Scozzafava (skoh-zuh-FAH'-vuh) had been losing support to the Conservative Party candidate, Doug Hoffman, a former Republican.

Hoffman drew endorsements from former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and other prominent Republicans.

John Boehner says the GOP needs a broad group of people who share conservative values.

Boehner spoke Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."

The only "Ranch" that "retired" "Law Enforcement" sock puppet (the real Danny left a LONG time ago) ever saw is the Ranch Dressing he got on his chicken wings at Chili's during a Christmas "Party" with his fellow minimum wagers.

He was called "Boss" because he was being sneered at by kids who KNOW and KNEW more than him and that being a "Professional" Rent-A-Cop at a (basically) 13th Grade form of High School wasn't the carreer they were going for.

But at least they gave him that modicum of respect, all be it sneeringly because he had to snivel to his REAL "Bosses", AND his self proclaimed "underlings". Who laughed at him behind his back and sometimes right to his face.

The kids did that gig for tuition rebates as part of Clinton's "Learn, but give something back while you do it" student loan program, which was only an extension of the Pell Grants.

He was a Rent-A-Cop for a few years at a local Community College. That's it. That's all.

Don't pick on him.

Give him a modicum of pride.

All these "new" "Cacti" are sock puppets. So is "Burd". It's ALL no more than 2 losers, probably with ankle bracelets, who have to call in to their parole officers every now and then.

Most of their BS posts are just to show that they are still alive, and still nobody cares unless they miss a post or a call.

Don't forget, one of Stevie's claims that he used to get out of the Draft was that he faked his hearing test so he didn't have to go, and getting a Medical was better than being 4F, (or in his case there is still that self professed bragging of being a gay male prostitute thing and his family fleeing their home town and moving 300 miles South because of all the shame he brought on the family name, and THEN his Federal Felony CONVICTION for being "misunderstood".

But...

Who cares?

He is irrelevant.

The Pugs are irrelevant.

Sorry Failin is irrelevant.

Oh well. It must really suck to be a Pug.

Hi, Pam.

Future of GOP and moderate Republicans uncertain

Valerie Bauman, Associated Press Writer

ALBANY, N.Y. – In a Republican Party struggling to find its identity, the surprise withdrawal of the chosen GOP candidate for a New York congressional race amid a rising conservative upstart renews a lingering national debate: Are moderates welcome in today's Grand Old Party?

The question became even more relevant Sunday when the ex-candidate, state Assemblywoman Dierdre Scozzafava,

threw her support behind the Democrat in the race

rather than the Conservative Party candidate favored by fellow Republicans.

The GOP leadership insisted on Sunday political TV talk shows the party is strong and inclusive while Democrats described a Republican party out of touch with the people.

"We accept moderates in our party, and we want moderates in our party. We cover a wide range of Americans," said Republican House Leader John Boehner in an interview on CNN's "State of the Union."...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_ny_special_election

There is no place in the Republican Party for anyone who is flexible or tolerant...especially of women.

The GOP has been overrun by greedy irresponsible crooks who are driving the American Dream into the ground, war mongers profiting off the sacrifices of our troops, and lunatic witch hunters brandishing guns at youth sporting events.

I'm not even too sure the top 2% feels comfortable with Palin and her band of seapartist, Aryan Nation freaks. They are a cult of angry, racist old men and their cowered, abused women...none of them with a civic-minded, socially-conscious thought in their proudly illiterate brains.

Good for Dierdre Scozzafava. Goldwater Republicans and Reagan Democrats don't want any part of this neo-Nazi crap coming from the far right wing of their party. Was it fear of Cheney's torture policy coming to roost here at home or the knife in her back that changed her mind?

Or are they one and the same for any moderate in the Republican Party?

SandyH on November 1, 2009 at 07:30 PM

DooBee,

heehee, you can TELL it sucks to be a pug these days, but the desperate shrillness of them. They get nastier and angrier as Obama and the country gets better ! that was the ONLY thing the Republicans have been counting on---that this country would fail and fail big time, even another attack, so that they could try and take back the WH and the majority, so they could start doing all over again, what Bush put in action.

You would think they would learn, but some (20%) of them never do.

There is a part of me that is praying they are stupid enough to dare to run Palin! My Gawd, I never laughed so much in my life as I did from Augus 2008 till November 2008, as she drew McCain and his campaign down into the loser it became.

She is the gift that keeps on giving to the Democrats. I visit her facebook from time to time, and mainly most of the strange asshats have backed off, but those who still show up are the real hardcore Religious nuts ! Sick, Sick....... Stupid, Stupid.....

White House: Afghan troop decision within weeks

Lara Jakes, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON – Top Obama administration officials pledged Sunday to work with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, despite continuing doubts about his credibility that could have been eased had he won a runoff election against his top challenger, who dropped out citing concerns of fraud...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091101/ap_on_go_pr_wh/us_us_afghanistan

Yeah, sure. The opposition candidate just caves for no reason at all?

It might as well be official. The President isn't giving the Pentagon any more troops without a firm exit strategy in place with all the major and even minor players.

The White House is obviously working hard to insure that Karzai goes out in the traditional Afghani way...with a bribe for everyone and a villa in France for him. It will allow us to leave without being blamed for the corrupt dictatorship that Cheney set up and insure there is no hard feelings long-term.

The only way to make this work is to cut deals with Karzai's opposition, individual war lords, and the Taliban to make things right. When word leaked out that Cheney had the CIA funding Karzai's drug king brother, the decision became firm.

All that's left is working out the details which could take a considerable amount of time but will become easier now that the Afghanis know that we are leaving. This is after all the way business is done in that part of the world. It's not necessary to stage media-driven military battles and occupy countries for decades when nobody trusts or likes Al Queada any more than we do.

It was always about the war profiteering opportunities and public relations value to the Bush administration. They had no idea where to go once they invaded. Shock and awe is the ONLY conservative foreign policy strategy and it's a real loser in the Middle East.

Many of them are now Blue Dog Democrats. It's much better to have them inside our fold where we can have a real dialogue, exert some pressure when needed, and work on constructive change together. I've always been a fiscal conservative unless there is a crisis like this Great Depression.

The Reagan Democrats are all coming home and bringing a lot of thoughtful Republicans. People like Jim Webb are a real asset and new conscience for our party.

But back to my original question:

What the Hell does that have to do with anything I posted tonight? Posting someone else's property transaction and the date they moved in to a house that was built in a certain year.....ANDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD???

Cleveland on November 1, 2009 at 07:34 PM

Nope. 4F is "unsuitable to serve" (usually for being a mental case, or pervert or an anti-social twerp, like you; on all 3 counts.)

4-F: Registrant not acceptable for military service. To be eligible for Class 4-F, a registrant must have been found not qualified for service in the Armed Forces by a Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) under the established physical, mental, or moral standards. The standards of physical fitness that would be used in a future draft would come from AR 40-501.[37]

You have already ADMITTED that you "FAKED" your induction hearing test AND poured lye on your arms so you would look like you had a contagious rash.

SO.......After ADMITTING you FAKED your physical, why did they bump you?

Easy, it's because you are either a perv or a criminal, or both, in your case.

So tell us, what was your GED score in Juvie, if you even got one? Did you even GO to High School? Or was your self proclaimed "superior intellect" enough for you that you didn't need to learn anything your entire life?

God KNOWS you were never socialized. What horrible parents you must have had, or horribly appalled at your actions which brought so much shame on the family that they had to flee to Iowa and you had to work as a soda jerk in a local cinder block fly trap plotting your BIG PLAN, which put your ass in a Federal Court where you were found...

(Ummmmmm, what's that word again??.....)

Oh yeah.

GUILTY OF SEVERAL FEDERAL CRIMES.

Yeah, that self-professed "superior intelligence" really came in handy there, didn't it, Little Stevie?

And little Stevie boy thinks he is so clever, posting information on my home. Well, Stevie, the town here equates my Split Level house with Raised ranches, so they only take the bottom two levels into affect. I have another third floor with 3 more bedrooms, I have a totally finished off basement, as well as the huge Sun room we added on the back. So that gives me 11 rooms.

Our appraisal values are based on a PERCENTAGE of the selling value- and that is used for tax purposes! I could sell for a lot more than that.

Perhaps you think that that shack on parcel #19,0034.000, 34394 Cedar Creek Road, Hinckley, MN , out in the woods is worth more, but finding another looney bird
crazy enough to live off Old Governors Highway is the hard part.

And if you want to start harassing-----KNOW THAT I have some really juicy stuff on you---like that kid's stringy haired, poorly dressed picture of that kid, when she actually thought she might win a beauty contest against another bunch of losers! And she lost!

So you ponder a little bit stevieboy, whether you wish to get your fun this way, and face some more exposure of your paranoid self. You might want to go buy some more dogs---you know to protect you from the big bad Democrats !
