No its people like you that are the problem.
Pam is right every economists, on CNBC. which is the premier financial network, and a almost exclusive Pug Network of rich folks, have all said the same thing. For at least the last 10 months.
BECK AND LIMPNUTS: And Fox News, are your only sourses of whats going on, in the finacial world. WHICH IS TOTAL INSANITY. That's the reason you don't have a lick of sense.
GOP Health Bill Would Leave 52 Million Uninsured
Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) just took to the House floor to decry the Democrats’ health reform bill because, she said, it would leave too many folks uninsured. She must not have read the Congressional Budget Office’s analysis of the GOP’s legislative alternative, which, CBO found, would leave 52 million nonelderly Americans uninsured in 2019 — about 6 million more than are uninsured today.
A GOP Whopper About Health Care Coverage
We weren’t the only folks curious about the morning’s claim from Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) that the GOP’s health reform bill covers more uninsured Americans than the Democrats’ proposal. The fact checkers at Media Matters were also left scratching their heads, and http://mediamattersaction.org/factcheck/200911050001 " target="_blank">here’s what they found.
First, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aD2WbWGuo_w " target="_blank">Foxx’s claim:
Rep. Foxx claimed the Democratic plan “does not include coverage for 29 million of the 30 million people that Pelosi and President Obama say need health insurance.” She added, “take up the Republican alternative, which covers everyone.”
Next, the Congressional Budget Office’s analysis of the Democrats’ proposal:
By 2019, CBO and JCT estimate, the number of nonelderly people who are uninsured would be reduced by about 36 million, leaving about 18 million nonelderly residents uninsured (about one-third of whom would be unauthorized immigrants). Under H.R. 3962, the share of legal nonelderly residents with insurance coverage would rise from about 83 percent currently to about 96 percent.
And here’s the CBO yesterday on the Republicans’ bill:
CBO and JCT estimate that those provisions would increase federal budget deficits by about $8 billion over the 2010-2019 period, reducing the number of nonelderly people without health insurance by about 3 million in 2019 and leaving about 52 million nonelderly residents uninsured. The share of legal nonelderly residents with insurance coverage in 2019—83 percent—would be roughly in line with the current share.
Math is tough, but it doesn’t take Pythagoras to recognize that 36 million is quite a bit more than 3 million — regardless what Virginia Foxx says.
Rep. Foxx Lies About Health Care Coverage In Both Dem & GOP Plans
http://mediamattersaction.org/factcheck/200911050001
On November 5, 2009, Rep. Virginia Foxx blatantly misrepresented both the Democratic and Republican health care bills. Contrary to her statements, the Democratic bill covers twelve times as many Americans as the GOP plan while decreasing the deficit by $104 billion.
The Republicans Plan Has Almost No Effect On The Number Of Uninsured Americans
CBO: The Republican Bill Only Extends Health Coverage To 3 Million Americans, Leaving Percentage Of Uninsured The Same. [...]
The Democratic Plan Extends Coverage To 36 Million Americans
CBO: The Democratic Bill Extends Coverage To 36 Million Americans, Boosts Number Of Insured To 96%. [...]
Washington Post: The Democratic Bill "Covers 12 Times As Many People And Saves $36 Billion More Than The Republican Plan." The Washington Post's Ezra Klein wrote: "According to CBO, the GOP's alternative will shave $68 billion off the deficit in the next 10 years. The Democrats, CBO says, will slice $104 billion off the deficit. The Democratic bill, in other words, covers 12 times as many people and saves $36 billion more than the Republican plan." [Washington Post, 11/5/09]
As It Turns Out, Republicans Don't Want Americans To Have Health Care After All
After months of blustering and bluffing, the Republicans have finally released their health care reform proposals. And while the legislation costs less than the Democratic plan, the Republicans failed to write any language that would ensure coverage for more Americans, ease the financial burden for families, or even prevent insurance companies from denying coverage to those with pre-existing conditions.

New Chamber Of Commerce Ad Misleads On The Economy And Small Businesses
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Employers for a Healthy Economy coalition has released a new anti-health care reform ad that misleads viewers into thinking Democratic proposals will endanger their jobs. As SEIU points out below, in reality, the legislation would benefit small businesses, the national economy, and individual Americans across the country.
Contrary To Ad, Reform Legislation Will Lower Deficit And Ease Costs For All Americans
House Bill Will Lower Deficit.
House Bill Will Cover 96% Of Americans, Easing Costs Of Uncompensated Care.
Current Legislation Taxes Less Than One Half Of One Percent Of Americans
House Bill Taxes Only Wealthiest .3% Of Americans.
CBO: House Bill Will Result In Lower Costs For American Families.
Mandates Will Not Affect Small Businesses

Most Americans Strongly Support Individual Mandate.
American Families Are Already Paying Hidden Tax To Subsidize Costs Of Uninsured.
No, YOU Lie! Rep. Joe Wilson Repeats False Statements On Clean Energy Legislation
During a November 4, 2009 appearance on Fox News, Rep. Joe Wilson falsely claimed cap-and-trade legislation in front of Congress would increase costs by over $3,000 per family. Contrary to Wilson's statement, legislation increasing our investment in clean energy technologies would create jobs in every state and help America become more energy independent, all for less than a quarter a day.
Clean Energy Jobs Legislation Would Rebuild America For A Postage Stamp A Day
Reuters: "Climate Legislation Moving Through Congress Would Have Only A Modest Impact On Consumers."

Senate Democrats move greenhouse gas bill along without GOP
A key Senate committee today approved a controversial plan to impose the nation’s first-ever caps on greenhouse gas emissions blamed for global warming, over the objections of panel Republicans who have blocked work on the measure.
The Environment and Public Works Committee voted 11-1 — with seven Republican members skipping the vote — to approve the climate change legislation drafted by Chairwoman Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., and Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass.
Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., was the lone Democrat to vote against the measure, primarily because of his objections to the bill’s mandate that by 2020, U.S. greenhouse gas emissions be 20 percent less than they were in 2005. Baucus wants a less-rigorous 2020 emissions cap of 17 percent — with the option of raising it to 20 percent only if other countries impose similar limits.
Although today’s vote advances the Kerry-Boxer bill out of the main panel that has a role in vetting it, that is likely to be the high-water mark for the legislation this year. At least five other committees are expected to weigh in on the issue before Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., can merge their proposals into a single global warming bill for floor debate.
Senate Democrats advance climate bill without GOP
Ignoring a Republican boycott, Senate Democrats pushed a precedent-setting climate bill through a key committee Thursday.
Rep. Barbara Boxer, chairman of the Senate Environment & Public Works Committee, had delayed the crucial vote for days because of a Republican protest over whether the cost of the legislation had been fully examined. But the California Democrat moved quickly to pass the bill, which for the first time would set mandatory limits on heat-trapping gases, without any of the seven GOP senators on the panel present. The measure cleared the panel on a 11-1 vote.
Boxer said the Republican demand for more analysis was "duplicative and waste of taxpayer dollars."
Grayson reads number of "dead" in GOP districts
Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) is taking the extraordinary step of reading off the number of people he calculates will die as a result of lacking health insurance -- in each district represented by a GOP member of Congress who opposes health care reform.
His approach: Name the district, then name of the Republican, then enumerate the number of people who will die without health insurance based on a Harvard analysis -- suggesting that the members were responsible for the body count. [...]
"Is it really asking too much of us that we keep people alive?" asked the Orlando Democrat, who rose to national attention earlier this year for suggesting the GOP wanted uninsured patients to die quickly. "We know according to the Harvard study we will keep these people alive."

Republican Leaders Couldn’t Find Affordable Coverage Under Their Own Health Plan
The Congressional Budget Office has concluded that under the $61 billion Republican amendment to the House health care bill, the number of uninsured Americans would increase to 52 million by 2019, but deficits would decrease by $68 billion over the 2010–2019 period. The bill could slightly reduce premiums for Americans who purchase coverage independently.
Millions of Americans would remain uninsured and continue to pay higher premiums. In fact it’s unlikely that any of the members of the Republican House Leadership would be able to find affordable insurance under their own proposal, should they chose to give up their government-sponsored plans.
The six men and one woman in the Republican House leadership have an average age of 52 and, as a group, are more susceptible to cardiovascular disease, different cancers, high blood pressure, and host of other chronic diseases. The Republican health alternative would allow insurers to discriminate against these conditions and price the Republican leaders out of the market:
1. Leadership would not find coverage in the individual market:
Republicans hope to increase access to coverage in the individual market by giving individuals the opportunity to purchase insurance licensed in different states. But it’s unlikely that any of the House Republicans would be able to find an affordable coverage option. Insurers that sell policies in the individual market-place usually deny coverage to older Americans with pre-existing conditions or those at risk of developing chronic disease. In fact, over the last three years, “nearly three-quarters of people who tried to buy coverage in this market never actually purchased a plan, either because they could not find one that fit their needs or that they could afford, or because they were turned down due to a preexisting condition.”
2. Leadership would not find adequate coverage in high-risk pools:
When the Republican leaders are denied coverage in the individual market, they could apply for insurance in expanded state-based high risk pools, which typically provide very expensive coverage for the so-called “uninsurables.” But their legislation does not adequately fund these pools and would compel states to limit services, deny coverage for pre-existing conditions, and impose high cost sharing.
3. Leadership would not find stable coverage in association health plans:
If Republican leaders can’t purchase affordable coverage from state-run high risk pool, they could join an association-sponsored plan. Unfortunately, under their own legislation, associations are not required to provide a standard package of benefits and have an incentive to craft skimpy policies that attract healthier applicants.
The Republican legislation lowers costs for younger and healthier Americans by segregating risk pools and offering individuals who rarely use their health insurance cheaper premiums — so long as they remain healthy. The legislation doesn’t offer new choices or lower costs for the majority of the population.
Majority leader: House will pass health bill
The second-ranking House Democrat predicted that historic health care legislation will be passed Saturday as the AARP, the nation's premier lobbying group for the elderly, announced it was signing on to the bill.
Rep. Steny Hoyer said House leaders expect to have the 218 votes needed to pass the sweeping bill, which would extend coverage to tens of millions of uninsured people and ban insurance companies from turning people away. [...]
Hoyer said the bill's endorsement by the powerful seniors' lobby AARP, announced Thursday, was a significant boost.
AARP Senior Policy Adviser John Rother said the 40-million strong organization favors the House bill because it closes the coverage gap in Medicare prescription benefits, puts strict limits on what health insurers can charge older workers too young for Medicare and creates a voluntary, long-term care insurance program.
"The bill does improve quality, and it improves access," said Rother. "When people hear this message from us, it will have impact." AARP will reach out to its state and local chapters ahead of the House vote, particularly in districts with a large numbers of older people and a lawmaker who's undecided.
The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network also announced its support for the legislation Thursday, and the American Medical Association, which had endorsed an earlier version of the bill, scheduled a midday press call to weigh in.

Lindsey Graham Rebukes Fellow Republicans: ‘The Green Economy Is Coming’
Graham rebuked Republicans unwilling to address carbon pollution, asking, “If you can’t participate in solving a hard problem, why are you up here?” Saying that he has “seen the effects of a warming planet,” Graham called for the United States to “lead the world rather than follow the world on carbon pollution”:
The green economy is coming. We can either follow or lead. And those countries who follow will pay a price. Those nations who lead in creating the new green economy for the world will make money....Graham also discussed how Americans of any party “really feel uncomfortable with the fact that our nation sends a billion dollars a day overseas to buy foreign oil from some countries who don’t like us very much,” saying that part of “this initiative is to create a vision for energy independence and marry it up with a responsible climate control carbon pollution controls and create a new economy.”
Graham emphasized that his vision is to “help this planet” that “is in peril, create millions of new jobs for Americans that need them, and to become energy independent to make us safer,” because he believes that “controlling carbon pollution is good business.” Although he hoped for participation from his fellow Republicans, he said, “If you believe carbon pollution is not a problem, then you wouldn’t want to work with me, because I do.”

FREE HEALTH CARE, DUFUS DAN????? WTF did you see anything about this being FREE? Those who are on poverty levels----ALREADY get Medicaid. (you know, Medicaid by the States, not FREE Medicare Part A that you have, and a $95 per month Part B, plus FREE Veterans care !

Dithering On The Climate Crisis
On Tuesday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel called on the U.S. Senate to "tear down walls of today" and "work in common in order to stem the potential catastrophe that can result if we continue to see global warming continue unabated." Her plea was "met with silence from most Republicans." In June, the House of Representatives passed the American Clean Energy and Security Act to "for the first time put a price on carbon emissions" in the United States. Overcoming a Republican boycott, the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee voted 11-1 this morning in favor of its version of the House bill, the Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act. The legislation, co-sponsored by Sens. John Kerry (D-MA) and Barbara Boxer (D-CA), has been met with intransigence by both Republican and Democratic senators. Fossil fuel companies, conservative business lobbying organizations, and right-wing pundits have led the resistance. Exxon Mobil alone spent $7.2 million on lobbying in the last quarter -- more than the total of the entire alternative energy sector or environmental organizations. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which called for a "Scopes monkey trial" on climate science in August, suffered months of defections and outside pressure. Grudgingly accepting the need for action, the Chamber is still opposing "targets and timetables" for reducing carbon pollution. Procedural delays and the protracted battle over health care legislation ensure that a bill to tackle the climate crisis and rebuild our economy will not pass this year. However, the urgent need for clean energy reform continues to build, and some politicians are beginning to heed the grassroots call for action.
Now I can't understand WHY the German girlie, does not work on his own country's Chancellor, if he does not like Global Warming iniatives! I think he is too afraid----the Germans would scoop him up and toss his crazy ass in a straight jacket !!!

looks like most Americans do not mind taxes nor Government spending. At least the smart ones:
Voters Reject Anti-Government TABOR Proposals in Maine and WashingtonAn excellent point from Kristina Wilfore who observes that if you want a decent test of the “tea party” movement you could do worse than to look at TABOR proposals that would put arbitrary caps on state government spending and force meaningful reductions in the size of government. Two such proposals were on the ballot last night in Washington and Maine and they lost:
A central tenant of the right-wing agenda has been rejected with the defeat of TABOR (known deceptively as the “taxpayer bill of rights”) in these two states – states that are diverse from each other in almost all respects. Maine’s measure went down with a resounding defeat, 60% to 40%, while Washington’s campaign came from behind with a 55% to 45% rebuff.
A few weeks ago, conservative columnist and tea party champion John Fund wrote in the WSJ that: “If voters in Maine or Washington state pass a taxpayer bill of rights, it will be a clear sign that even in blue states the public is coming to believe that government spending is out of control and that elected officials can no longer be trusted to rein it in

Your defense of the a-hole just makes me smile, as I intend to expose her poisonous self more and more.

James K. Galbraith, son of John Kenneth Galbraith, interviewed by Bill Moyers...
Excerpted from the transcript:
Bill Moyers: Suppose that your father were around today, and '08 had happened, the Great Collapse. Do you think he might have said, "Aha. Told you so?"
James Galbraith: He did say, "I told you so," in this book, in--
Bill Moyers: THE GREAT CRASH?
James Galbraith: --in THE GREAT CRASH. He talked about the conditions under which it would recur, and he said, "No one can doubt that the American people remain susceptible to the speculative mood, to the conviction that enterprise can be attended by unlimited rewards in which they, individually, were meant to share. A rising market can still bring the reality of riches. The government preventatives and controls are ready. In the hands of a determined government, their efficacy cannot be doubted. There are, however, a hundred reasons why a government will determine not to use them."
And that's the point about the crisis, is that it could have been prevented. The people in authority two, three, five years ago, knew how to prevent it. They chose not to act, because they were getting a political and an economic benefit out of the speculative explosion that was occurring.
Bill Moyers: You mean, the people who could have prevented the dam from breaking were too busy fishing above it, and reaping big rewards to want to fix the crack in it?
James Galbraith: Sure. The Federal Reserve, in particular, knew that the dam was cracking. Alan Greenspan, I think, almost surely knew this, and chose to wait until it had washed away.
[...]
Bill Moyers: I want to show you something that resonates with what you're saying. I've been looking at it for a while now. It's an excerpt from a speech that Franklin Delano Roosevelt made in 1944, in the midst of war, a speech that not many people have seen, but take a look at this excerpt. Franklin Delano Roosevelt: In our day certain economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. A second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all regardless of station, or race, or creed. Among these are: The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines throughout the nation. The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation. The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living. The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom, freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad.
The right of every family to a decent home. The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health. The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident and unemployment. The right to a good education. All of these rights spell security. And after this war is won we must be prepared to move forward in the implementation of these rights to new goals of human happiness and well-being. For unless there is security here at home there cannot be lasting peace in the world.
Bill Moyers: What do you think about, listening to that?James Galbraith: It's wonderful. It's splendid. It defined what we should have achieved in the last 50 years and in many ways, what we still need to achieve.
It's a test. It's a test for the country as a whole, as to whether we have the capacity to state and pursue a truly public purpose. We've come through a generation where we have really denied the existence of a common good or a public purpose. And I think we've recognized that that path leads to collapse, the collapse that we've seen. And that the way out is to somehow reestablish for ourselves this vision of what we really could be.
The Republican Bill: Just like the status quo!
CBO numbers are in [pdf] on the Republican health care bill and guess what? It’ll do nothing!
After 10 years, the Republican health care bill will reduce the number of uninsured by a paltry 3 million, leaving 52 million uninsured. The CBO goes on, "The share of legal nonelderly residents with insurance coverage in 2019 would be about 83 percent, roughly in line with the current share."
Compare this to the Democratic health care bill coming up for a vote, which the CBO says would cover up to 96% of Americans.
And in the area of reducing the deficit, typically a Republican mainstay, the CBO says the Republican bill would do less compared to the House bill up for a vote shortly. [...]
So let’s review. The Republican bill would do nothing to change the number of uninsured in this country. It would reduce the quality of coverage you get, and sick people would pay more, to say nothing of continued denials for pre-existing conditions. And the bill would do less to reduce the deficit than the Democratic bill.
The Republican bill: 219 pages of wasted paper, all to preserve the status quo. And that’s great news for the insurance industry.
Former NYPD commissioner Kerik pleads guilty to lying to White House
Former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik on Thursday pleaded guilty to charges of lying to Bush administration officials who vetted his unsuccessful 2004 nomination to be homeland security secretary.
Kerik admitted to eight counts as part of a plea agreement with federal prosecutors, who are recommending a 27- to 33-month prison term. U.S. District Judge Stephen Robinson set Kerik's sentencing for February 18.
In court papers, prosecutors said Kerik denied to a White House official that there was "any possible concern" about his relationships with the contractors involved in renovations to his apartment or that he had any financial dealings with prospective city contractors.
Kerik, 54, had been scheduled to go to trial next week on a variety of corruption charges, including allegations that he received and concealed benefits of about $255,000 in renovations to his Riverdale, New York, apartment from a company seeking to do business with the city of New York. He pleaded guilty to that charge and several tax-related counts during Thursday morning's hearing. [...]
n 2006, Kerik pleaded guilty to accepting tens of thousands of dollars worth of gifts while he worked as city corrections commissioner, but under a plea agreement he paid $221,000 in fines and avoided jail time.

Senate throws a lifeline to the jobless
After weeks of partisan debate, the Senate voted on Wednesday to lengthen unemployment benefits by up to 20 weeks and to extend the $8,000 homebuyer tax credit.
The closely watched legislation would extend jobless benefits in all states by 14 weeks. Those that live in states with unemployment greater than 8.5% would receive an additional six weeks. The proposal would be funded by extending a longstanding federal unemployment tax on employers through June 30, 2011.
The measure would apply to those whose benefits will run out by Dec. 31, which is nearly two million people, according to Senate estimates. Those whose checks have already stopped would be able to reapply for another round.
The vote was 98 to 0.

Congress votes to aid jobless, homebuyers
Congress is sending the president legislation to expand a popular homebuyers tax credit and extend unemployment benefits.
With an overwhelming House vote, Congress has completed work on the $24 billion economic package that seeks both to propel a sluggish economic recovery and help out the millions who have lost jobs and have been unable to rejoin the workforce.
Under the measure, the $8,000 tax credit for first-time homebuyers would be extended for seven months and expanded with a $6,500 credit for some prospective homebuyers who already own homes.
The nearly 2 million people who have lost or are in danger of exhausting unemployment benefits before the end of the year would receive up to 20 weeks in additional benefits.
THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The House is poised to send the White House a bill extending aid to over a million people in danger of exhausting jobless benefits and additional tax credits for prospective homebuyers crucial to rejuvenating the housing market.
The $24 billion package also contains tax credits aimed at struggling businesses. The House is scheduled to vote on the legislation Thursday, a day after the Senate passed it 98-0.

Than explain how you lost a congressional seat held by the pugs for 100 years?
Conservative Blogger Slams Far Right
Rick Moran at Right Wing Nut House, unloads on what he sees as the increasingly deranged push by right-wing bloggers and others in the far-right media to turn the GOP into a permanent minority status party by purging all but the true believers from its ranks.
Moran's post from earlier this week--a must read--opens with a bang:
What is it that possesses certain conservatives to fool themselves so spectacularly into believing that they can create a majority out of a minority?...In the case of far right conservatives who think that they can turn their meager numbers into a ruling majority all by themselves, the disconnect from reality would normally call for an intervention - except they reject anything from anybody who doesn't agree with them 100%.
Moran's description of anti-reason conservatives is priceless, as well:
Those who reject reality in favor of persecution complexes, wildly exaggerated hyperbole, and a frightening need for vengeance against their imagined "enemies."
Psst, Michele, I think he's talking about you.
Conservatives Still Think You're Over-Insured
This comes up from time to time, but it's good to see former House Majority Leader Dick Armey (R-Texas), a new ringleader for right-wing activists, state it plainly.
"The largest empirical problem we have in health care today is too many people are too overinsured," he said. There it is, the right's philosophy on American health care in 17 words.
Stupid Republicans:
Rep. Todd Akin screws up the Pledge of Allegiance, leaves out ‘indivisible.’
Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) had the honor of leading the anti-health care protesters on Capitol Hill today in the Pledge of Allegiance. To show his fervent devotion to the Pledge, he gave a short speech about the importance of the phrase “under God.” However, when it came time to actually recite the Pledge, he was so excited about that one phrase that he forgot to say “indivisible” before “with liberty, and justice for all.” The crowd seemed to remember the actual words though, which threw Akin a bit off track. [...]
Update House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) confused the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence today too.
Financial Reform Bill Moving Ahead in the House
The House is considering a 253 page bill regulating both financial services corporations and future government bail outs (It's nice to know they're thinking ahead). This is the kind of thing that unites a wounded, divided nation:
The 253-page bill is one of the most controversial provisions of the Obama administration's overhaul of financial regulations because it directly addresses the future of government bailouts. The legislation drafted by the Treasury Department and Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, would give federal officials power to regulate, seize and dismantle large financial firms whose failure would pose a risk to the economy. It unites us in the sense that I haven't met a 'real person' yet who feels any sympathy whatsoever for financial giants that destroyed what was left of the economy or the overpaid sociopaths running them.
GOP party chair Michael Steele threatens anyone who supports health care reform
What are you gonna do, throw their seats to the Dems too, Steele? Brilliant strategy. From ABC:
Asked if he’d be comfortable with Republican candidates in 2010 who supported President Obama’s stimulus package, or his push to overhaul health care, Steele said:
“Well I’m gonna tell you honestly, that’s where the line gets a little bit tricky. And you saw in the House and in the Senate that there are ramifications, because that goes against a core principle. And trust me, you’re assuming that people want to have bloated debt, government expenditures and growth into their lives -- they don’t. That’s a talking point out of the DNC.”
“People aren’t buying that. So candidates who live in moderate to slightly liberal districts have got to walk a little bit carefully here, because you do not want to put yourself in a position where you’re crossing that line on conservative principles, fiscal principles, because we’ll come after you,” Steele continued.

Murdoch's News Corp still bleeding on advertising revenue
Rupert Murdoch's News Corp delivered better than expected quarterly numbers yesterday though overall revenue is still down. The bright spots for Murdoch were movies and cable. Advertising revenues are still way down, like most in the industry. The other bad news for Murdoch is that his new scheme for online payments has been delayed.
The results come as News Corp tries to stem advertising revenue declines at its newspapers and local U.S. TV stations.
News Corp's newspaper unit posted an 81 percent decline in operating income as people gave up their print editions and went online. Advertising sales have fallen as a result. Local TV operating income fell 54 percent.
Fort Hood in lockdown after shooting
http://www.star-telegram.com/texas/story/1739521.html
A shooting at Fort Hood prompted the base and nearby schools to order a lockdown, according to news reports.
KCEN-TV in Central Texas said seven people were killed and 12 wounded. The station said there were two suspects in the shootings.
MSNBC also reported the shootings, quoting the public affairs officer at the base. It said sirens were sounding on the base to alert all personnel to remain where they were.
MSNBC reported the shootings occurred at a barracks about 1:30 p.m.
KCEN reported that one person was in custody and one was still at large. It quoted a source as saying that shooter has a high-powered rifle and is aiming to kill.
A scrolling notice on the base's Web site declared "Organizations/units are instructed to execute a 100 percent accountability of all personnel. This is not a drill. It is an emergency situation."
Killeen ISD says all Fort Hood schools are on lockdown, the news station said.
This story is developing.

GOP Senator Tom Coburn using secret hold to block bill on veterans benefits
We always knew "support the troops" didn't really mean anything to Republicans. It was a slogan, nothing more. And, that's being confirmed by Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) who is using the anonymous "hold" procedure in the Senate to prevent action on a bill designed to support veterans. Usually, these "holds" are secret, but the veterans have outed Coburn:
Thirteen major military and veterans groups have joined forces to try to force one senator — Republican Tom Coburn of Oklahoma — to release a hold that he has placed on a major veterans benefits bill.
Coburn has been identified by Senate aides as the lawmaker preventing consideration of S 1963, the Veterans’ Caregiver and Omnibus Health Benefits Act of 2009, by using an informal but legal practice of putting a hold on a bill.
Thomas - Library of Congress: S.1963 - Caregivers and Veterans Omnibus Health Services Act of 2009
GovTrack.us: S. 1963:
A bill to amend title 38, United States Code, to provide assistance to caregivers of veterans, to improve the provision of health care to veterans, and for other purposes.

Good afternoon, DEMS!
Oh, and NJ is a blue blue state where Erkle still had no influence over voters.
54
**Frosty** on November 5, 2009 at 02:10 PM
I see the troll is pulling his facts out of thin air again.
Since 1970, NJ has had a Dem Governor for 16 years and a Pug Governor for 20. (Including Acting Governors, who were ALWAYS of the same Party as whomever he or she replaced.)
NOt so much a "Blur State after all, is it?
Since 1970 Virginia has ALWAYS elected a Governor from the opposite Party as the person who won the Presidential election the year before.
So this election is just following another of a list of steady patterns.
For instance, NO Party has held the VA Governors job in Virginia for more than 8 years since 1970.
Corzine had a dismal favorabality rating going into this race, and BOTH State's elections were about local issues. Neither race had anything to do with ELECTED PRESIDENT OBAMA.
In that light, 7 weeks after APPOINTED RESIDENT CHIMPY, THE ALCOHOLIC BLOW MONKEY fell asleep at the switch and allowed 9-11 to happen, (and for some bizarre reason was at the height of his popularity), BOTH NJ and VA flipped Parties in their Gubernatorial elections and they BOTH went Dem!
Does that mean it was a reflection on the worst Resident in American History? (Well, actually it does, but that little fact sorta blows the narrative, doesn't it?)
The fact of the matter is that BOTH of the winners told Sorry Failin to stay as far away as possible. The candidate who embraced her lost that Century and a Half held Pug seat to a DEM!
Sorry Failin Fails Again!!

Barbi, after the Baggers screwed up NY23 (after the RSCC dumped a Million Simoleans into that race) the Pug Senatorial Campaign Committee announced that they will NOT spend ANY money in States that have a contested Pug Primary!
How hard would it for a bunch of baggers or activists to file papers and contest a Pug and run against him on a shoestring budget just to cut off their funding?
Sheesh, talk about telegraphing their punches. And I thought Ensign was screwing things the last time he ran that Committee. Instead he was screwing his staffer and leting the Pugs LOSE a shit load of Senate seats, as long as he was getting some seat of his own on the side.
Insider-Trading Ring Acted Like Wall Street Version of the Mob
Published: Thursday, 5 Nov 2009 | 4:56 PM ET
Zvi Goffer could have passed for Tony Soprano when he warned confederates in his alleged insider-trading ring that "someone's going to jail."
Don't be too obvious about making big money, he said in a cell phone conversation intercepted by investigators in February 2008.
"Someone's going to jail, going directly to jail, so don't let it be you, OK?" Goffer said, according to a criminal complaint. "That's a ticket right to the (expletive) Big House."
According to federal prosecutors, Goffer was the boss of an insider trading operation that paid sources for non-public information. He and 13 others were charged on Thursday as the scandal centered on Goffer's former employer, hedge fund Galleon Group, widened dramatically.
A criminal complaint naming Goffer, head of the trading firm Incremental Capital, and his alleged accomplices reads like a script for TV dramas like "The Wire" or "The Sopranos," in which drug and Mafia criminals try to stay one step ahead of the law.
Federal prosecutor Preet Bharara told a news conference that investigators resorted to wire taps and other methods "traditionally reserved for the mob and narcotics traffickers" when the accused began "taking a page from the drug dealers' playbook (and) deliberately used anonymous, hard-to-trace, pre-paid cellphones in order to avoid detection."
Calls recorded by law enforcement officials were littered with nicknames like "the Greek" and "the Rat," and even jokes about getting information from a guy fixing a pothole. Current and past targets were code-named the "Hilton hit" and the "Apple."
There was talk about "cash lying around," and investigators observed what they believed were hand-offs of white bags and cases packed with cash.
In one phone call, an attorney, Jason Goldfarb, who was charged on Thursday, told Goffer that he had a meeting with the "boys" planned, but added they were like "nervous nellies."
The "boys," according to prosecutors, was a reference to people sharing information with the alleged ring. Goldfarb said the "boys" were "hungry" because one had recently "spent his whole chunk of change" on his honeymoon and the other had "bought a new kitchen."
"Now they're, they're ready to replenish, and that's what we're going to do," Goldfarb said, according to the complaint. Much like the drug traffickers in "The Wire," those accused in the insider-trading ring were constantly paranoid about a potential "rat" who would talk to the authorities.
In the end, all their precautions didn't work.
"When sophisticated business people begin to adopt the methods of common criminals, we have no choice but to treat them as such," Bharara said.

Anybody know where Sally, Harpie, and Dufus is? Three nuts went crazy at Fort Hood, Texas.
Killed 12, and injured 31.
I guess Batshit Crazy Bachmann can get arrested now for inciting a riot!
Looks like the demonstrators really are serious about storming the Congressional barricades.A dozen people were arrested this afternoon in or just outside of Nancy Pelosi’s office, some for unlawful entry and others for disorderly conduct, the Capitol Police confirm, adding that some of the arrested were throwing papers around.
(...)
Update: Pelosi spokesperson Drew Hammill confirms that the demonstrators were Operation Rescue people and that they were shredding copies of the health care bill.

Good afternoon, all.
Texas? Has that new motivational speaker gotten people taking the law into their own hands in just the same way he did as Commander-in-Chief?
And how about Rick Perry and Sarah Palin? It sounds like someone joined a Separatist movement.
And how about Bachmann, Limbaugh, and Beck, etc. They have been telling people there is nothing wrong with "Going Rogue" for months now.
How about the NRA? They have been telling people they have "a right" to take their weapons into any public place and threaten people. Now we have someone shooting at soldiers on a military facility.
And how about sending troops to war for over eight long years and thinking that someoe wouldn't snap or we wouldn't be infiltrated by the enemy?
There have been way too many people talking way too much smack for much too long in this country. It seems like violence is the only thing that makes Americans stop shouting at each other and begin to wonder if it's a great idea.
Can't Americans solve any problem without someone getting hurt? All we do is confront each other instead of confronting our real problems.
The motive here? Someone wanted attention and was no longer going to be ignored. We are the only country in the world that makes it easy for a degenerate to shoot their way into the headlines and become a celebrity.
Dear Lord. Perry is talking about sending the Texas Rangers to a military base? With whose authority? Talk about grandstanding. Wild Bill Perry has his western circus on the move.

Like Jacq said it sure is easy to push your buttons.
And you don't know what the hell your talking about yet, with muslims. The one that was killed was Asia, that don't mean shit, he probably spent mulitiple tours in Iraqi, and went crazy being a Major. Which you don't know shit about since your was to SORRY TO SERVE YOUR COUNTRY. And your just as sorry now as you was then as a kid, your still a kid.
Jeopardy isn't on, moron. It ends at 3:30, and it's "Teen Week" or some BS like that, so there is no need to watch it to learn anything I never wanted to know about Brittany Spears or whoever the bimbo du Jour is these days.
GOv. Rick Perry is speaking and he says there is no information about the gunmen except that 1 is dead.
Why is it that ONLY wingnut sources have all this detailed information like them yelling "Allah Akbar" before opening fire, and shouting "die like dogs", and the Governor doesn't, nor does any legitimate news source?
Could it be true? MAybe. Could it be rumors like the Oklahoma City bombing when FOX was repeating that it was "Muslim terriers" who did it just minutes after it happened, and it turned out to be a bunch of Fundie Pugs following up on an ideal?
Probably. We all know how the wingnuts like to hype the racism.
Oh by the way Sally, a kid is a off spring of a GOAT, now take that and run with it. You old GOAT.

Hi, chassie.
The Bush Crime Family gave them the go ahead to move in on our markets...knowing that there was little left to be exploited because they had offshored anything of real worth.
So these crooks created make-believe assets and sold them as part of an "investment" bundle to unsuspecting community banks. And they paid for their "protection" by contributing to members of Congress.
What a racket.
Afternoon all good Dems,
michelle wackman held her tea party at the capitol today and is carrying on as usual. A Democratic congressperson called Randi Rhodes and said he estimated the crowd a less than 10,000. I caught the last minute of the shawn insanity program and he said the crowd was much more than 20,000. If this guy ever told the truth his ass would fall off. some asshole from misery called him and said she threw her kid in the car and her mother and they drove to washington to demonstrate. insanity said that they carried a priest out by all fours who was being very obnoxious.
We are becoming very pissed at out priest. It seems like every damn mass he is bitching about abortion and the health care bill contains abortion. He obviously doesn't give a shit about the 43,000 lives a year that are lost in the US for lack of health care. These are human lives too and to me they count a hell of a lot more than a fetus. Our priest wants to deny all Americans health care because he thinks abortion will be paid for. He is apparently deaf to the fact that there is already a federal ban on spending tax money on abortion. What part of this do these assholes not get?

What a racket.

Sad thing about it Sandy its still going on, and more is going to fall.
I'm really suprized that what happened at Fort Hood, is not worst then what it is, with one of the killers being a MAJOR. He didn't get to be a Major yesterday. A Major, could of done a lot more damage, i'm surprised he didn't have the building loaded with C-4. which is a small package of highly explosive shit.

Senator Coburn Blocking Vets' Aid - Will You Stand Up To Him?
Right now, in a disgraceful move my Senator, Tom Coburn, is single-handedly holding up some very important veteran legislation. Sen. Coburn is trying to block S. 1963, “The Caregivers and Veterans Omnibus Health Services Act of 2009.” While this is a legal move, we think it is morally wrong for Sen. Coburn to hold up any veterans benefits during a time when our men and women in uniform are giving so much to our country.
CLICK HERE TO SIGN OUR PETITION TO SENATOR COBURN TO STOP BLOCKING VETERANS LEGISLATION
By blocking this bill Sen. Coburn is denying veterans a myriad of benefits and services. One of these benefits is caregiver assistance to our most wounded veterans. Severely injured veterans often need assistance to do some of the smallest tasks, and generally family members often putting quite the strain on those family members do that assistance. This bill will provide much needed relief for those caregivers by allowing for family caregiver assistance and lodging and food assistance for attending caregivers.
Sen. Coburn is blocking some benefits specifically for women veterans. Title II of this bill increases funding for such issues as mental health care for women who suffered military sexual trauma, women’s health care needs and medical services for newborn children. Other aid in the bill concerns rural veteran health care issues, mental health care matters and programs to help ease the burden of veteran homelessness.
CLICK HERE TO TELL SENATOR COBURN THAT HIS HOLD ON VETERANS AID IS NOT ACCEPTABLE
Now is not the time to play petty political games with our veterans. What Senator Coburn is doing is shameful, and he deserves to know that those of us who are veterans and support veterans will not stand for it. So take a moment to sign the petition above, and tell your friends and family to do the same.
Thanks for all of your support.

So Girls-----don't give us that bullcrap about you don;t want any Freebies from the US government!!! It's all socialized , except for what YOU get, right?????
coburn (R) needs to be called out and shamed into resigning his senate seat.
Two or more times before in our sad history, honorable veterans had to march on Washington to get a REPUBLICAN CONGRESS give them their just compensation for defending this country. The two most memorable were in 1920 and 1932 when REPUBLICANS RULED THE ROOST AND PHUQED OUT TROOPS.
Now we have some pissant religious wacko from Okiehoma blocking todays veterans their just compensation. Remember, REPUBLICANS HATE America and Americans.
Let's deal with coburn and see that he gets dealt with. tar and feathers come to mind.

So are they putting Bachman in jail for inciting a riot in the White House? I don't know which one is the most stupid Bachman or Fallin.
ELECTION 2009 LESSONS:
The results of Tuesday's elections in Maine, New Jersey, New York, Virginia and Washington were a mixed bag but there are some clear lessons we can learn.
Voters rejected right-wing radicalism.
Democrats who fail to stand up for Democratic and progressive principles fail in elections.
The Right's lies still work.
Despite the stinging loss for marriage equality
in Maine, evidence elsewhere shows voters moving towards support of equality for all Americans.
The Far Right strengthened its grip on the Republican Party.
We have a lot of work to do to educate people, expose right-wing lies and counter the resurgent Right.
The scattered results of yesterday's elections were not a referendum on President Obama and his policies.
In Maine, the still-painful wound from last year's passage of Proposition 8 in California was reopened when a majority voted to repeal legislature-passed marriage equality, relegating members of same-sex couples to second-class citizens. But in Washington, voters reaffirmed the State's domestic partnership law, protecting the rights of same-sex couples. And some smaller, but nonetheless important, victories for equality were won. In Kalamazoo, MI, an anti-discrimination ordinance was passed and openly gay candidates won local races in several good-sized cities around the country.
And in the much-watched special election in New York's 23rd Congressional District, which has had constant Republican representation going back to the 19th century, Democrat Bill Owens beat Conservative Party candidate and unabashed right-wing extremist, Doug Hoffman. The Republican candidate had to drop out of the race because her views were too moderate for national Republican leaders like Sarah Palin and Tim Pawlenty, and opinion leaders like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh (not to mention right-wing groups like the Club for Growth which dumped $1 million into the race to help Hoffman).
With regard to the fight for LGBT equality, we can see some very specific trends.
The Right's lies still work. In Maine, the same ridiculous scare tactics and outright lies the Right used in the California to pass Proposition 8 last year worked again.
Voters want to support equality for all Americans, although the Right is still effective and misleading people about the marriage issue. We saw this in Washington State, as well as in: Chapel Hill, NC, which elected a gay mayor; Houston, TX (America's fourth largest city), where the leading candidate for mayor in the runoff election is openly gay; Kalamazoo, MI, which voted to protect LGBT people from discrimination; and more localities around the country.
Much work is needed to expose the Right's fear-mongering lies AND to educate the public about why civil marriage is the only true measure of equality for same-sex couples.
And, finally, it's worth mentioning that the scattered results of yesterday's elections were not a referendum on President Obama. In fact, Obama enjoys very high approval ratings in both Virginia and New Jersey, well above the national average and well above the percentages he achieved in his election last year.
Chassie,
bachman should be jailed immediately and held in solitary confinement until her term is over.
heading out, Dems........
Have a good evening, and blog ya tomorrow.
One for the road...
Chairman Rupert Murdoch said he sees "some encouraging trends in most of [the company's] businesses."
Televised changes
Operating income at the television division dropped to $38 million from $83 million due to ongoing advertising weakness at the company's wholly owned TV stations, particularly in the automotive and movie segments.
Profit also declined at the Fox network on higher programming costs and a drop in ad revenue....
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/news-corp-profit-rises-11-2009-11-04
Which of the Faux News divas will go first to pay for this loss? Murdock can't keep all that dead wood around making multi-million dollar salaries when they are alienating advertising dollars.
This guy in California is getting signatures to put a proposition on the California ballot. He wants to ban divorce. It has a good chance of winning.
He was on the Stephanie Miller show this morning. My first thought is that the guy is a wacko but after hearing what he told Stephanie, I think it is a great idea.
Remember that California shot down prop 8 the marriage amendment, aka gay marriage amendment. This gentleman said that there is nothing in prop 8 that even mentions gays in any, way, shape or form. He sees it as a proposition that supported marriage of any kind which is alright because it doesn't take away anyone's rights.
His bill is a slap at the religious freaks who rail against gay marriage but get divorced at an alarming rate even more than normal people (Democrats).
He certainly made sense.

You're nuts.
He needs to do exactly what he did; a brief statement and leave it to the ones in charge without becoming a distraction and another security and logistics problem.
He ain't Chimpy who used to run to every tragedy for a photo op and then forgets about it 12 hours later.
He needs to do exactly what he did; a brief statement and leave it to the ones in charge without becoming a distraction and another security and logistics problem.
Doo-Bee-Doo-Bee-Doo
That never stopped him before when he wanted to run out for a bite to eat in New York City or pop over to Copenhagen to shill for the Olympics in Chicago.
You're nuts.
bachman should be jailed immediately and held in solitary confinement until her term is over.
johhne
Johne... Johne... Johne... listen your little Piss Pants malcontent, the USA cannot just jail everyone you think is being disagreeable. People still have a right to protest in this country.
Now go to bed and play with your wife's dolls. Oh yes, don't forget to stretch the rubber sheets under you ass.
Chassie,
bachman should be jailed immediately and held in solitary confinement until her term is over.

I totally agree John, and she should be waterboarded every-morning right after breakfast, and every evening right after supper.
And the old squirrel faced melon head is still trying to convince herself that the Tuesday election was not a total disaster for Democrats and Erkle.
**Frosty**
Her protestations are akin to the old adage "whistling past the graveyard".
The left suffered a significant loss Tuesday evening and they know it. That's why the asshats on here are putting so much emphasis on their win in upstate New York. Losing those 2 gubernatorial races was significant.
Oh am I so looking forward to fall 2010!
I totally agree John, and she should be waterboarded every-morning right after breakfast, and every evening right after supper.
chassie321
Maybe tie her to the railroad tracks like a damsel in distress?
You're a nutty as Johne Piss Pants.
The people in New Jersey will live to regret voting in the ahole cristy (R). I saw his fat ugly face on tv last night and he was mumbling that lowering taxes will be difficult. He ran on this lie and should be held to his word. Of course his word isn't worth much.
Corzine graduated from one of the big banks in New York to being a senator then governor and he really didn't have the background or skills needed to be governor. I liked the guy but he was misplaced.
The new virginia governor is an asshole who believes women should be pregnant, barefoot and in the kitchen and not in the workplace. Wait till the people in virginia wake up to this.
What really happened in both states is that the young people who are behind President Obama didn't vote. It has nothing to do with being repuke or Democrat.
I wish the people in these states all the luck n the world. They will need it. cristy and the dweeb in virginia will be total failures like their buddy chimp.
Oh am I so looking forward to fall 2010!

You won't be after its over, and the hand writing is on the wall, you'll be swimming in your tears little smart mouthed punk.
Nope, asswipe. He went to Denmark to push for the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. And YOU cheered that the "Good Ol'" USA got beaten by a third world country.
(And don't forget the James Bond like meeting with the Afghan Theater General, which took top secret coordination among 4 different Countries using resources that they would NEVER afford Chimpy, because he spent 8 years calling them pussies and wimps, while he started 2 wars before he asked them for help, and when they refused he cut them down relentlessly and reverted to name calling and 2 year old behavior. Because he IS a 2 year old prick.)
I can't wait for all you assholes to be chanting "USA! USA! USA!" every time you want to drown out the sane people, or when the Canadian Olympics start in February.
Oh, and the trip to NY? What did Bill Clinton do not too long afterward? OOPS, another successful secret "fix it" that didn't include a bottle of Jack and an appointed "legacy heir" sprawled on the floor in Crapfest TX while a certain August PDB goes unread.
Didn't Chimpy spend 40% of his term drunk on a floor "on vacation" or "resting" at Camp David?
Yup!
Johne... Johne... Johne... listen your little Piss Pants
There you go again, with your piss and poop.
I bet you roll your poop in little balls every day, and eat it for your breakfast, along with a 2 litre of spent liquid.
I am seeing the stimulus money at work first hand here in New Mexico. The eighteen miles I travel to work each day are being dotted with very large electric transmission lines which will extend another 20 or thirty miles to their terminus.
President Obama promised that we would upgrade our electrical grid and he is right on target.
The old line a few feet away consists of old rotted out skinny double wood poles. Two years ago one of these poles broke off in a high wind and the lines fell onto another perpendicular transmission line and our power was out for seventeen hours. On top of that we have at least two short outages a year along this same transmission line.
Chassie,
He probably drinks horse piss too. Do you think he may have been involved with those two guys who were arrested for having sex with horses in Colorado?
Is murdoch a US citizen? If not, he should be stripped of all his billions and deported immediately along with his entire family. Furthermore he should be banned from ever owning another company involved with "news(lies)"
Where is limpballs this week? I wonder if he took his viagra? He may need it.

Mudrock wanted to buy 20th Century / Fox in the mid- 80s but 20thC/F owned a small television network, and 5 (the FCC limit at the time) Owned and Operated (O&O) stations.
He only wanted the 20th C/F film library so he could convert the movies into VHS tapes and sell them (Line Ted Turner did when he bought a different studio) but the bankruptcy Judge said it had to all be sold off as an entire unit, and the new owner could slice and dice it any way he wanted.
Since the TV network and 5 Stations were the ONLY parts of that conglomerate that were generating a modicum of revenue, and Uncle Rupie wanted the library so he could sell the movie right s to HBO or CineMax or whoever he was in a pickle.
The FCC FORBIDS foreigners from owning broadcast media (radio & TV, for Dufus Danny) in the USA.
SO, to make a long story short, Rupie called on an old washed up Hollywood 'B' movie chunk of scenery and pulled at his heart strings about saving the old days of TinselTown, and PRESTO!!!
Sponge Brain Pee Pants has his minions give Rupie a "hurry up" emergency Citizenship!
ZOWIE!!! He now owned 5 TV stations and a small chunk of the cable bandwidth.
And the rest is a sad history.
DPD,
Why don't we pull the Sherman Anti-Trust Act out of a hat and apply it to all these oversized companies. We could start with the media, the banks, Walmart, etc. Wasn't it sponge brain pee pants who deep-sixed the Act.
It seems we were so much better off with small family oriented businesses. It started changing big time in the 1980's under sponge brain pee pants I think.
No. Isn't it time for Sorry Failin to address the FACT that she is 0 for 2 in campaign "wins" yet the camera whore doesn't care who she screws as long as SHE gets face time?
Since when did "Olbermann Watch" let you back? They tossed your ass out of there and banned you years ago (and went out of business for a while, too.
I'm sure he will address your latest non-scandal if or when he wants to, but in the meantime, after it turned out that Sory had as much Political heft as an overcooked noodle why would he HAVE to stay?
To point out that Sorry Failin and the Baggers (which sounds like a GREAT name for a bar band) are pure ideological FAILURES?
Who gives a shit what he did? IF he went to see his father and did him a favor and used the family seats at the Yankees game that night, maybe his father asked him to bring a lucky token there or buy a score card and bring it back so he can be buried with it?
(It happens ALL the time at Wrigley, it's called a "family tradition", of which you would know NOTHING; unless your family has traditionally spent time in Club Fed - at which point you already have that covered.)

I ABSOLUTELY agree John. I have been advocating for the break-up of the Media conglomerates for years. There is ABSOLUTELY ZERO reason for 6 companies to own 91% of ALL media in this country.
That includes radio, TV, newspapers, billboards, advertising companies, TV production companies, Movie lots, networks, distribution franchises, video rental outlets, etc.
Just in Chicago Clear Channel has SEVEN FM stations, and a lock on the billboard market.
NO chance of any progressive radio renting space on a right wing billboard here, but PLENTY of wingnut radio ads.

Damn i forgot to tell the trolls, that their favorite man Al Gore was going to be on Bloomberg. He is on right now as i'm typing this.
Why should Pelosi put the bill on line for assholes to pick apart. That's all the republican assholes want to do is delay the bill. The republicans are not only party of NO, they are the party of DELAY.

Good evening, folks.
The teabaggers aren't tickled over Elmo...
"Sesame Street"'s jab at Fox News sparks backlash
Nov 5
Next week will mark “Sesame Street”'s 40th year on the air, and while many are celebrating the iconic PBS show that's become what the New York Times recently labeled "messianic," some conservatives are crying foul over the re-airing of a sketch that jabs fun at the right-leaning Fox News network.
In the clip of the sketch that originally aired two years ago without controversy, Oscar the Grouch is playing a reporter for the "Grouch News Network," also known as "GNN," which certainly sounds familiar. After Oscar conducts an interview in which he shares hugs and kisses with his royal interview subjects, an irate viewer calls him to complain that his coverage of the news wasn't quite grouchy enough, saying "From now on, I am watching Pox News," adding, "Now there’s a trashy news show!"...
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/20091105/pl_ynews/ynews_pl968
After punking ACORN, now the sock puppets are going after real puppets? So I guess we can now expect the GOP to demand funding be cut for PBS. Those evil "puppets" are indoctrinating their children?
The teabaggers sure as hell didn't learn anything from watching Robertson or Falwell so why should their grandkids be educated? They're not going to let some gay puppets teach their kids about science or how to speak Spanish.
What a riot. They're concerned about being insulted by puppets but are not upset that all Americans have health care. Their priorities are so in order?
And (mock) concern over whether Olbermann was where he said he was? Are these people stalking everyone they don't like? Do they follow Miss Piggy around hoping to catch her in a compromising situation?
Sounds like Pox News to me.
I just saw William Shatner reading Levi's tweets. He's a bigger hoot than Sarah. Conan says she's going to be driving around the country to promote her new, highly discounted book in a van (down by the river) with a moose strapped across the hood. "To the Moosemobile, Todd."?
I'm surprised she's not a nine-moose sleigh?
The Armed forces should be off limits to mooslems whilst we are at war with them. How many Japs did Roosevelt have in the armed forces during WWII.

Good idea, asshole. Let's draft he Young Republicans and the College Republicans first.
Oh, moron, about those Japanese-American Soldiers in WWII?
DecorationsThe 442nd RCT became the most decorated unit in U.S. military history for its size and length of service, with its component 100th Infantry Battalion earning the nickname “The Purple Heart Battalion”. [5] The 442nd RCT received 7 Presidential Unit Citations (5 earned in one month), and its members received 18,143 awards, including:
* 21 Medals of Honor (the first awarded posthumously to Private First Class Sadao Munemori, Company A, 100th Battalion, for action near Seravezza, Italy, on April 5, 1945; the others upgraded from other awards in June 2000). Recipients include:
The list follows, but it is a LONG list and I don't want to eat up thread, and I KNOW you won't even bother your "beautiful mind" with it, you asshole.
But following the list of names is a list of the aggregate honors for that unit:
* 52 Distinguished Service Crosses (including 19 Distinguished Service Crosses which were upgraded to Medals of Honor in June 2000)
* 1 Distinguished Service Medal
* 560 Silver Stars (plus 28 Oak Leaf Clusters for a second award)
* 22 Legion of Merit Medals
* 15 Soldier’s Medals
* 4,000 Bronze Stars (plus 1,200 Oak Leaf Clusters for a second award; one Bronze Star was upgraded to a Medal of Honor in June 2000. One Bronze Star was upgraded to a Silver Star in September 2009.)
* 9,486 Purple Hearts

my dear sweet evil. don't you remember? the right wing religious freaks have been praying for rapture.
Ya can't stop what has been prophesized.
sit back, enjoy. the meek shall inherit the earth. it will all be just fine.
Morning Essie,
Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall inherit the earth.
The trolls will inherit HELL.
That major has been in the army for quite some time and is probably suffering from battle fatique having served in bush's illegal wars since 2003 the longest wars in US History.
The thirty years war comes to mind. The major picked on a group that was being deployed for the unpteenth time to Afghanistan (chimp's and chinney's endless war of attrition.
offering a pleasant greeting does not mean someone has the hots for someone.
I'm only hot for my husband, as well I should be. He is a REAL man, unlike you and the other trools.
trools = limp noodle brigade.
evil, the only thing you got half correct in your statement is about my hair...it's not grey, it's naturally frosted with white. compliments of my most wonderful dad. and boy do I have lots and lots of think, luscious hair! haha
You on the other head, are probably bald as a knob.
good morning, johne, doobee. I hope you both are well. it's a beautiful day here in SE OH.
Such tragic news from Ft. Hood.
America should only have a small peacetime army like Switzerland all selected by draft. The day of the mercenary armies is long past. Eventually the evangelical aholes from the air farce academy will try to take over our government with a military coup.
We could save $7 trillion over 10 years by reducing the size of our military. Seven hundred bases worldwide is absurd. We are still building multi-billion dollar war ships and ignoring the education and health care of our citizens. Is this the way Rome fell? We are a nation of war mongers led by chicken hawks who are afraid to relinquish power as if they are dictators.
172johhne on November 6, 2009 at 07:45 AM
that is why the trools want to destroy our Earth. they shall have no part in it. no need for them to worry. I doubt any slackers will be left here to help clean up the mess. suits me just fine. I have no use for lazy bums.
they will be wailing and gnashing their teeth. maybe they will spend eternity wondering why they were such miserable people to mankind.
but evil, you can't blame the liberals, the religious right prayed and prayed for the rapture.
now, sit back and take it. it won't hurt a bit.
I promise.
why don't you go lay down and take a rest, evil. the sun is up and the boogie man won't get you, just say the little prayer...it goes like this...
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep;
When in the morning light I wake,
Teach me the path of love to take.
now evil, you know I'm in a playful mood. it's all fun and games here, remember?
why don't you go lay with your dumplin, cuddle up and enjoy life.
And the old squirrel faced melon head is still trying to convince herself that the Tuesday election was not a total disaster for Democrats and Erkle.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA........
And what you are doing, Stevieboy, pretending it was some kind of victory for Repugs (even though is showed Palin is Poison to them), is what Jon Stewart calls "POLLISHING THE TURD".
You keep thinking to yourself there was some kind of wonderful win for the Repugs on Tuesday, even though both of those Dem Governors who lost were destined to lose, if it makes your little sick self feel better ! There were 8 other Democrats who won, PLUS Democratic Mayoral wins all over the country! How about that DIASTER for the Repugs?
Don't get all upset over Palin looking like an ass-----95% of the country already knows she is.
I think the White House is like the VA in a way that you have problems and they want to brush you away. That goes for republicans, as well as Democrats.
After the VA put me in the ER with high blood pressure for an appointment for depression, my next appointment for blood pressure is in the last part of November. So I have been taking periodic BP tests to check the medication.
Why do I say that because sometimes the government does that in an emergency, put a fix in place and does not follow through.
By the way you were right President Obama did need to speak out slightly, and let those in charge handle the Ft Hood situation in respect to the families.
I wonder how many moderates will try to take over the Republican Party. You have the Right Wing zealots that will try to hijack the Republican Party, but it will not survive but break into two.
hiya, bold. reads like evil is getting all geared up for a wonderful weekend of spending his time on the DNC blog. He's already been up all night (well, he is S* alter ego)
guess those bused in teabaggers who stormed the Capitol, getting whipped up in a frenzy by the repugs and then the snapping of a Major who went off and killed over a dozen service people will have them climbing the walls and baying at the moon.
190The_Evil_Dr*Burd on November 6, 2009 at 08:46 AM
there you have it! evil likes men.
Good morning, Essie!
I alwats heard it this way.
"if I should before I wake
I pray the Lord my soul to take."
But in the case of the trolls it will be more accurate as:
"If I should die before I wake
Nobody will notice nor care and the rats will eat my useless corpse.
Then there will be a parade, and a party with cake".
Really, that's all Stevie has to look forward to.
Shiny happy people celebrating that he is gone.
Oh now Pammy is saying that I am special because the state pays part of my real estate tax bill. Duh Mrs Dumbshit, every homestead property owner in the state gets that.
STEVIE----- OH Really------In 2007, in addition to some Homestead credit of $274, You RECEIVED 'AID PAID BY STATE" OF $1222, IN 2008, YOU GOT A HOMESTEAD CREDIT OF $259, plus "aID PAID BY STATE OF $1299!!!!!!!
Don't you feel foolish now?
OH, and better watch out about falsifying your Homestead (farm) status-----
Penalty for false homestead application
A property owner who obtains or attempts to obtain homestead classification for a property other than his or her primary place of residence or the primary place of residence of his or her relative is under state law subject to a fine of up to $3,000 and /or up to a year of imprisonment (MS 609.41 ). In addition, the property owner will be required to pay all tax which is due on the property based on its current property class plus a penalty equal to the difference between the tax based on the homestead classification and that based on the property's correct class.
The Minnesota Department of Revenue is of the opinion that it is inappropriate for a taxpayer to retroactively attempt to change their homestead status. A homestead application is a legal document. By completing one, and thereby securing the corresponding tax benefit, the taxpayer is certifying that they are residents of Minnesota, the property they are claiming as their homestead is their primary place of residence, and they have a sufficient ownership interest to entitle them to the homestead classification. A homestead application cannot be rescinded or undone by the applicant once application has been made.
as long as the cake isn't the trool soylent green!
(thanks for putting that sugarplum thought into my head, SandyH)
I have left instructions in my will for my daughter to take some of the gold out of that top box before she tries to pull it out.
by the time the dwerb goes in for it, it will be back down to $200 or less. Not much of an inheritance for her, unless you plan on kicking off today !
There IS NO gold, Pam.
Stevie hasn't told the truth in his entire life, why would he be honest about this?
I´m not into greyhaired dumpy liberal bible beating bigoted broads.

ahhhhhhh, now outside of the bible reference, the Dumpling would be SO hurt !
and I guess then, bible beating broads like Palin turn you off, too, huh? Pretends to be so religious and christian, then turns around and when told she can charge 5 suits to the RNC----charges $180,000 worth of silk underwear for her husband, clothes for her kids, and all kinds of clothing and makeup and accessories for herself.
Not very Christian, is it? I don't think that is something Jesus would do!
bold, can you imagine, never spending any time, never showing any love, never helping out finacially to your child, but when it's time for her to bury him (she'll probably have the funeral home cremate him and tell them to keep the ashes) then she'll have to go through that rotten, run down old shack to find her treasures he left her.
I hope she wears gloves, boots and a mask.
Then a match would do.
Esme, Stevie is not smart enough to invent an alter ego like BurdTurd. If you add 6 hours onto the time the German appears, it is when he either is getting up in the morning or getting up from a supper of saurkraut and knockwurst. Today, looks like school was out, and no basket weaving classes for the German today. Burd would like us to believe he owns some wonderful 'estate' in the tippity top of the USA on the Canadian border. No wonder he can only afford to go up to alaska for his vacation-----he is right near it. Like my daughter always told me about alaska, and probably true of upper Washington State too, the Good are odd !
I just wonder what the dumpling does during all these fantasy trips to Washington, to Alaska that the Burd does! Sits around and files her nails, while she breathes a sigh of relief while the boastful, pompous ass is away.
HAHA!!
This is HILARIOUS!
Jon Stewart does Glennnnn Bleech
He must have studied hours of tapes to get that idiot's moves and inflections down pat. (I feel sorry for him.)

Well, Esme, now that Walmart is selling caskets, she may put him in one of those Chinese boxes, and bury him out in the back pasture of his 'homestead". If it is anything like other Chinese products, the box should last maybe 2-3 years, before the worms start gnawinig on the old bones ! :)
What is a Homestead exemption:
The homestead exemption is the easiest way to keep creditors from taking the equity that you built up in your home. However, the exemption is not well known amongst homeowners. It can ease the fear that most homeowners have that their home can be taken because of that delinquent credit card or hospital bill. The homestead act, depending on where you live, can ensure that this doesn't happen.
This is why ole Stevie does not care if he gets sick with no health care-----they can't take his 1250 sq foot 2 room shack away. Sheesh, my sunroom I added to the back of my house----cost more than his entire house of $90,000.
Good morning, all.
SEN. BOXER BREAKS SENATE RULES… Passes Cap-&-Tax Out of Committee Without Single GOP Member in Attendance
What rules? I don't see any such rule in the Constitution. The Founders's expected Senators to conduct the people's business not stall and obstruct the progress.
It's a sign that the conservatives know that our policies could work while their ideology almost destroyed the country. These Republican cry babies remind me of those who want to play with the rest of the kids but are afraid of the physical contact.
Refusing to play is admitting you are a loser.
Gotta run. later.
The republican party are masters at putting millions upon millions upon millions of people out of work. All they do with a remarkable degree of consistency is wreck the economy, initiate huge movements of shipping jobs abroad aka the Reagan-Bush Global Economy and try to wreck social security and medicare.
Is there a definite pattern? Absolutely!
1. The Reagan/ Bush Home Loan Scandal

Now Obama must come in and clean up after up after two of the most reckless republican administrations in the history of OUR nation. They committed acts of fraud and should be in jail.
This war will not bring us out of this mess. The nation will be buried in more and more debt.
Make Peace and Make Money with new industry for a new economy is the only way out for the USA.
Like I told you, Dufus, do not confuse my gaining public records of TROLLS, i.e. hate filled angry men who are where they should not be, with YOU coming stalking and LOOKING FOR IT>
Remember that little tidbit, Dufus, YOU and Your ilk came to us, not the other way around !
and if you think for one minute, that the Secret Service or FBI could not track you down in a minute, you have zero idea of what the latest tools they have are. If they can listen in on phones, they can track down an internet connection, so I would not be cocky if I were you.
How did the job go yesterday? It sure must have been tough, for you to be so pissy this early in the morning !! A man your age having to go earn extra money because you can't keep the pigs fed on your sprawling ranch?
bwhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.........
ps, did you see that in addition to you getting free stuff from our socialized government, Stevie boy gets state aid to pay his taxes with, and Thomasss gets State unemployment benefits, and The German gets all those nice benefits in Germany. So better cut out the Socialist bullcrap----you all enjoy it !

Michelle Marston, an aide to Republican lawmaker Michelle Bachmann (R-MN), wanted to leave quietly.
But her decision to "jump ship" while her boss engaged in perhaps her boldest media moment yet has some on Capitol Hill scratching their heads.
Including a conservative lawmaker in Bachmann's own party.
“When your captain’s crazy, it’s time to find a new ship,” an anonymous conservative Republican House member told Politico Wednesday.
Marston had tried to warn the reporter off, to no avail.
Marston appears to have soured on Bachmann over time.
ahahahahahahaha, Dufus ---if you call having to go get a job at your age, enjoying your retirement, well you keep dreaming, bone head.
Oh, and as for George supporting me???? I have my OWN money, my own credit, and he keeps his nest egg to buy me nice things with!

Congratulations to the new Governors-Elect of Virginia and New Jersey! I’d also like to offer a special word of support to the new Lieutenant Governor-Elect of New Jersey, Kim Guadagno, the first woman to hold that office.
Of course, the real victors in this election are the ordinary men and women who voted for positive change and a return to fiscal sanity. Your voices have been heard.
The race for New York’s 23rd District is not over, just postponed until 2010. The issues of this election have always centered on the economy – on the need for fiscal restraint, smaller government, and policies that encourage jobs. In 2010, these issues will be even more crucial to the electorate. I commend Doug Hoffman and all the other under-dog candidates who have the courage to put themselves out there and run against the odds.
To the tireless grassroots patriots who worked so hard in that race and to future citizen-candidates like Doug, please remember Reagan’s words of encouragement after his defeat in 1976:
“The cause goes on. Don't get cynical because look at yourselves and what you were willing to do, and recognize that there are millions and millions of Americans out there that want what you want, that want it to be that way, that want it to be a shining city on a hill.”
The cause goes on.
- Sarah Palin
Now that the Republicans have gone public with their version of health care legislation why doesn't the DNC publish a side-by-side comparison of all the critial aspects necessary to meaningful reform. It should put to rest many of the irrational arguments that have been embraced by the GOP.
The Dems have been the dartboard for so long, mainly because there isn't an option to debate, BUT NOW'S THE TIME!
