The worldwide success of the album, released on November 23, is the latest milestone for the Scottish church worker who came second in the contest but became an internet star for her performance of I Dreamed a Dream from Les Misérables
Julian Monaghan, head of music buying at Amazon.co.uk, said: "Just eight months ago, no one was aware of the talents of Susan Boyle. Now, she has generated more Amazon pre-order CD sales globally than any other artist.
"That is an incredible achievement and is testament to the fact that she has captured the hearts of people all over Britain, America and the rest of the world.”
Steve Barnett, chairman of Columbia Records, said: "One of the things that is so unique about Susan Boyle is her ability to touch people around the world. We’re excited that I Dreamed a Dream holds the new record for global pre-orders and that Amazon’s customers have supported her album in this way.”
The second and third most pre-ordered albums were local releases in Japan, with Norah Jones' 2007 album Not Too Late in fourth and Britain's Take That in fifth with Never Forget: The Ultimate Collection from 2008.
Boyle, 48, recently spoke about being beaten by teachers during her school days and taunted for her learning difficulties.
She said: "'I was often left behind at school because of one thing or another. I was a slow learner.
''I'm just I'm a wee bit slower at picking things up than other people. So you get left behind in a system that just wants to rush on, you know? That was what I felt was happening to me.
''There was discipline for the sake of discipline back then. But it's all very different now. I think teachers are taught to understand children with learning disabilities a lot better.''
The church volunteer, from Blackburn, West Lothian stunned audiences with her rendition of I Dreamed A Dream on the ITV show.
She came second in the competition, behind dance troupe Diversity, but won over fans around the world including Demi Moore and Elaine Paige.
She initially struggled with her sudden fame, and checked into The Priory for exhaustion following the show.
sheesh, I don't know what part of the word "ERROR"
is so hard to understand. Nobody said cheating was going on---but I guess Republicans are so used to Bush and Their party cheating over the last years----they just assume it happened here:
"U.S. Vice President Joe Biden has asked a government Web site to correct statistics indicating stimulus funds have gone to non-existent congressional districts.
Biden's request came after an ABC News report found errors in Recovery.gov's accounting of hundreds of millions of dollars spent and thousands of jobs created or saved in incorrectly numbered or non-existent congressional districts.
"He thinks it is a relatively small problem involving a small number of jobs that exist, but which were entered into Recovery.gov with the wrong coding and therefore the wrong address," Biden spokesman Jay Carney said in an e-mail to Politico. "He expects the problem will be fixed quickly."
Edward DeSeve, a special adviser on the stimulus bill, said the mistakes that showed jobs created or saved in non-existent congressional districts were "silly" and "frustrating," but added "transparency is going to be messy."
"It would be great if every report filed was correct the first time, on time and contained no errors," DeSeve wrote. "But that's not realistic when 130,000 reports are being filed in a 10-day period."
AND THIS:
Biden says errors on Recovery.gov will be fixed
Posted: November 18th, 2009 12:00 PM ET
From CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney
(CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden is downplaying news the government Web site Recovery.gov reported hundreds of millions of stimulus dollars spent on projects in congressional districts that in fact do not actually exist.
The districts don't exist, but the projects do, Biden said Tuesday night.
And the administration isn't to blame - the fault lies with the nation's educational system.
In an appearance on The Daily Show, Biden said the errors - first reported by ABC News - do not indicate unaccounted-for spending but are rather the result of 70 people who are the product of "bad civics classes."
"Every single solitary penny that got sent out there to a state, a construction company, a nonprofit had to be accounted for," Biden told host Jon Stewart. "And it all got put on Recovery.gov. What happened was, out of 130,000 people reporting in what they did with the money…70 did not know how to count."
"There was bad civics classes for those 70 people," Biden continued. "They had to fill out a form, what district are you in, and there was no such district."
Biden said checkers are now going through the reports to determine the actual districts where the money was spent.
Wonder what next the Repugs will try and dig out to make Obama and the Dems look bad?
ps, watching Andrea Mitchell in IN where Palin signing books today. she said it appeared that mainly an Evangelical base was who was turning out. Let's face it, they are just like Stevie here. all she had to do was say she hated gays, and was Anti Abortion, and they flocked to her. No Problem---her daughter fornicating in her bedroom with MaMa's permission! No Problem---her son ran and joined the military to get out of the criminal trouble he was in with school buses, etc. No Problem her husband wants Alaska to secede from the USA. No Problem she uses a witch doctor to pray over her. No Problem she is an EXTREME RADICAL trying to ban books. No Problem after she became Governor, she forced the Oil company to give every Alaskan citizen AN EXTRA $1200, over the amount they were already getting, so that in her case----that added up to an additional $8400 getting her a total check of over $20,000.
THESE are the people who would get in line, and take the cup of koolaid to wait for the big flying saucer that is going to take them to heaven!
Susan Boyle, is (NOT) a POST TURTLE, she did it all on her own. Her excellence is unmatched. She is truly Talented, and a Beautiful Person. Full of LOVE.

BEIJING (AP) - Sometime into his long detention by China's feared state security agents, American geologist Xue Feng had something to show U.S. consular officials on their monthly visit. He rolled up his sleeve, revealing the burns where his interrogators pressed lit cigarettes into his arm.Xue also had something to say: He wanted his previously unpublicized detention made public in hopes that the outcry would win his release.
But Xue did not get his wish. His wife balked, as did the U.S.-based consultancy that employed him until months before he was detained, both saying that going public might hurt rather than help his case. The U.S. Embassy, caught between his desire to go public and his wife's wish for privacy, worked behind-the-scenes for his release.
So two years after disappearing into custody, the University of Chicago-trained Xue (pronounced shway) remains held at an unknown location in Beijing, charged with stealing state secrets over the purchase of a commercial database on the oil industry. His case has been batted inconclusively between prosecutors and the courts, which twice asked for more evidence, according to a summary of the case prepared by Xue's wife and seen by The Associated Press.
On Tuesday, President Barack Obama raised Xue's case at his Beijing summit with Chinese President Hu Jintao, said a White House official on the trip, in the latest and highest-level intervention.
More than an instance of abusive, intransigent Chinese justice, Xue's case raises disturbing questions about the quiet lobbying foreign governments, companies and the families of detainees often use, believing it more effective with an authoritarian Chinese leadership...

Mr. President, if you want to get all of dissidents and political prisoners freed as well as getting China to leave Tibet and Taiwan alone, all you have to do is to tell China we're suspending all imports until they do. It really is that simple, Mr. President.

all you have to do is to tell China we're suspending all imports until they do. It really is that simple, Mr. President.
Bob, that is kind of like cutting off one's nose to spite it's face, isn't it? Many of those imports are necessary here, now that US manufacturers forced out of business.
Plus, we are trying to keep good relations with the country that OWNS us, financially. What they have not loaned us, they are using to buy up more and more land, companies, buildings, etc here in the US. We don't have the ability to tip over this fragile alliance.
PLUS, what would the Repugs do---- if Walmart was all out of products to sell? Why, they wouldn't be able to buy their clothing, their electronics, their jewelry, their automotive supplies, small appliances, etc. There would be a lot of discontent. :)

In a report entitled "Worst-case debt scenario", the bank's asset team said state rescue packages over the last year have merely transferred private liabilities onto sagging sovereign shoulders, creating a fresh set of problems.Overall debt is still far too high in almost all rich economies as a share of GDP (350pc in the US), whether public or private. It must be reduced by the hard slog of "deleveraging", for years.
Under the French bank's "Bear Case" scenario (the gloomiest of three possible outcomes), the dollar would slide further and global equities would retest the March lows. Property prices would tumble again. Oil would fall back to $50 in 2010.
Governments have already shot their fiscal bolts. Even without fresh spending, public debt would explode within two years to 105pc of GDP in the UK, 125pc in the US and the eurozone, and 270pc in Japan. Worldwide state debt would reach $45 trillion, up two-and-a-half times in a decade.
(UK figures look low because debt started from a low base. Mr Ferman said the UK would converge with Europe at 130pc of GDP by 2015 under the bear case).
The underlying debt burden is greater than it was after the Second World War, when nominal levels looked similar. Ageing populations will make it harder to erode debt through growth. "High public debt looks entirely unsustainable in the long run. We have almost reached a point of no return for government debt," it said...
All thanks to failed conservative fiscal policies forced on us over the past three decades. Until we learn to pay for what we get instead of using credit and to pay for what we get by taxing the hell out of the fat cats who contribute very little, if anything, to society, this is what we're going to have. It just makes you want to smack a conservative in the mouth.
Hey Red-Dog, turn your air conditioner down, they just said that the prediction, for the west and north west, is going to being warmer then usual in DEC. and JAN.

I Know that Bob, but I have been hoping for the 3 years this retarded , misinformed, uneducated Republican might just pick up a fact or two, and maybe some of the anger and hate would dissipate.
Guess I was wrong.
If Bush had not dug us into this deep hole with China, we would be on a hell of a lot better footing with them. sighhhh, we were all so relieved when Clinton took that deficit and had turned it into a Surplus! And Then Neo con, War mongering, incompetent bush came along, and made us slaves to China.
all you have to do is to tell China we're suspending all imports until they do. It really is that simple, Mr. President.
That won't work Bob, do you reallly want to put another 10 million Americians out ot work? Plus give are majority to the pugs????????
This global policy is not near as easy as some thing.

Those imports you refer to could be replaced inside of a couple of years by U.S. manufacturing. And as far as keeping good relations with China goes, screw 'em, whether the GOP sold us out to them or not. We did not defeat the Soviet Union by buying up all of their manufactured goods. China is as evil as the former Soviet Union and we would be wise to recognize that fact, my friend.
Former McCain campaign senior adviser Nicolle Wallace says Sarah Palin's book "Going Rogue" is "based on fabrications," and that the basis for Palin’s depictions of her and former McCain campaign director Steve Schmidt as villains "took place entirely in her imagination."
In a statement to The Rachel Maddow Show, the former McCain spokesperson repeatedly used the word "fiction" to describe Palin's narrative and echoed criticisms by other former McCain staffers.

With a nearly $40 billion per month trade deficit with Red China, I seriously doubt that many jobs are in jeopardy. And if we cut all trade with China, those manufacturing jobs would eventually be replaced by Americans. We don't the Chinese Communists for a damn thing. We can manufacture everything we need here using American workers, American ingenuity, and American laws. Let the Chinese sell their cheap ass, lead poisoned widgets to their peasants out in the rice paddies. We need Red China like we need a hole in the head.
Peaceman, I also heard it reported this morning, that McCain is sticking up for his Aides! So that says palin is a lying ass also !
They were saying on TV today, when they were discussing the crowds showing up for her book, that the Republicans are SO hungry, SO needing a Leader, that this is another reason so many have turned to her.
But if they only remember, the Entire party was mesmerized last August when she came flying in then too, and then She opened her mouth, and the smart ones went running and voted for Obama!
That Freaken Lieberman trying SO hard to turn that Fort Hood suspect into a Terrorist! He has absolutely NO idea what went on in the looney's head, but he wants him to be just another Muslim trying to kill us all in our sleep!

Silly, Dumb, Missy Palin"

Palin's Newsweek Reaction: Sexism Only Matters When It Happens To Me
UH OH, Huckabee. You are not showing enough Hate, Vitriol attacks, vile comments about Obama. Don't ya know the Righties don't want understanding, empathy, encouragement, or for Obama to suceed !
During a relatively unnoticed speech in early November, former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee said he found it "deplorable" and "shameful" that his fellow Republicans were attacking the president for even the most trivial or well-intentioned matters.
Appearing before the Hudson Union Society to discuss his forthcoming book, "A Simple Christmas", Huckabee took umbrage with the criticism levied by some conservatives over Obama's visit to Dover Air Force base to see the coffins of returning soldiers.
When he [Barack Obama] was at Dover the other day, and went there to pay respect for soldiers, I heard a lot of people on the Right say "Aw, that's just a cheap photo-op." No, I think it was the Commander-in-Chief of our military paying respect to a dead soldier, and I'm grateful that he did that, and I was proud of him for doing that. And I think we all -- as Americans -- should give him credit for doing that.
He continued:
When he and Michele hosted the tricker-treaters on Halloween, quit finding something wrong with that. Say "Good, I'm glad that he and the First Lady are treating children to an experience at the White House." And I just find it deplorable that some people on my end of the aisle want to find everything wrong and nothing right about the man as a man.
The underlying point, Huckabee concluded, was that knee-jerk criticism to the president was counter-productive to civil debate. "I hated it when people did that to George Bush," he said. "They couldn't even laugh at the man's jokes they found something wrong with everything and if we do that to Barack Obama, then shame on us, shame on us. No wonder our country is so divided when that happens."
The remarks are fairly vintage Huckabee -- who, for all the firebrand conservative talking points he espouses, has maintained a image and reputation for Southern amiability. It also seems likely to spur even greater anger at his politics among the die-hard conservatives who regarded him with suspicion in 2008. As the conservative site GOP12 -- which first posted on the exchange -- pointed out, Huckabee's remarks came one day after Rush Limbaugh appeared on Fox News Sunday, during which he criticized Obama for his trip to Dover.
Bob your 1000 percent wrong, whether you or me, or anybody else likes it or not. We live in a global economy. This has happened in the last 30 years, even Bill Clinton contributed to it. You can't reverse 30 years in the short term. Even if you tried this country would go to the dogs. Almost no one would survive except the very rich.
And as far as no one losing jobs, your full of it. If all exports, and all imports, come to a grinding halt, the whole world suffers. Me thinks that your letting your hatred for communists get in the way of common sense.
I also think that your pet project, NASA is a waste of money that we can't afford. Who gives a shit if there is water on the moon. That money could, and should be put to work right here on earth, to protect what we already got, instead of some fantasy world.
Wall Street tax must be international: Pelosi
Thu Nov 19, 2009 12:44pm EST
By Andy Sullivan
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Any tax imposed on financial transactions would have to take effect internationally to prevent Wall Street jobs and related business moving overseas, U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Thursday."It would have to be an international rule, not just a U.S. rule," Pelosi said at a news conference. "We couldn't do it alone, we'd have to do it as an international initiative."
The top Democrat's comments seemed to spell longer odds for the Wall Street tax, which some Democrats in the House of Representatives are proposing as a way to pay for job-creating legislation.
The tax, which could raise $150 billion per year, would tap into widespread public outrage at Wall Street in the wake of the financial crisis, but support is lackluster among key legislators.
"This is just something that is on the table, it hasn't been developed to a high priority. but it has substantial currency in our caucus," Pelosi said.
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said on Thursday that he has "not seen a version of that tax that I think would be appropriate for our country."...
Madame Speaker, that sounds fine to me. This could be a golden opportunity to get all of the foreign interests out of the U.S. which would go a long ways putting us back on the road of self-sufficency. A Wall St. tax is a good beginning.
Oh, you know that Jon Steward---always kidding!
haha
How true is this !!
Jon Stewart Explains To Conservative Pundits Why He Doesn't Like Sarah Palin
Jon Stewart gave what seemed like his final word on Sarah Palin last night, explaining to Fox News pundits that he doesn't dislike her because she's from Alaska or because she hunts, but because "when you peel back the pretty, shooty layers of the Palin onion, there's no onion. It's just a conservative boiler plate mad lib: 'Freedom is good and taxes are--ooh I need an adjective--how about, I don't know, silly?' And the worst part it's a mad lib delivered as though it were the hard-earned wisdom of a life well lived," he explained.
Stewart took exception to the accusations that Democrats don't like Palin because she's attractive and religious, but he was particularly angered by the words of Bernie Goldberg who said on Fox that liberals have "Palin Derangement Syndrome" and are driven crazy by her because she has five kids--one with Down syndrome which "liberals certainly don't allow that to happen [to them.]"
(I still will bet she did not find out about the Downs until it was too late to do something about it. She is much too vain, too into herself to bother herself with a Special Needs kid. NOTICE HOW SHE IS USING HIM IN HER TOUR RIGHT NOW. So he DID end up being useful to her ! Maybe Stevie will get chance to shake his hand when he is in line with her book!)
Bob, who would you trust with your MONEY, the speaker of the house. Or a financial genius?
BTW Geithner is a financial genius. Do you think that you could do a better job? Do you think that the Speaker of the House could do a better job. Especially what they inherited. Use your common sense Bob.
Frosty go jack off in the coner of your shack. Which i'm sure you've done a thousand times before. PERVERT.
I haven't heard of thousands of people lining up at anyone's book signing before.
That's because Obama did not prostitute himself out signing copies to help him campaign, or to make an extra $8.98!
How about those campaign rallies last year----where hundreds of thousands---as far as the eye could see---went to hear him speak, like he was Jesus on the Mount!!!! heeheehee ! that sure killed you guys.
Oh gee, Stevie has changed back to the sock puppet, Shit-Zona, like he is fooling somebody.
Maybe if you watch some REAL fair and balanced reporting, the numbers for palin will be a lot more realistic! Even those Evangelical holy rollers are not THAT zealot.
FOX Fraught with Fraud Again: Covering Palin, They Claim Current Footage, Air Some from Last Year
How long can FOX go without blatantly lying about the footage it displays on TV? It seems going a little over a week would have been pushing it. Not long after Sean Hannity had to accept the sting of Jon Stewart calling him out for inflating the attendance of a health-care protest by using footage from a few months ago, another FOX broadcaster was caught with footage not quite what he claimed it to be.
FOX attempted to cover a Palin book signing in Michigan, and Gregg Jarrett, a member of FOX's alleged straight-news team, describes the video played as "just coming into us" when it pretty clearly had nothing to do with a book signing and everything to do with a campaign appearance from last year. Once again, FOX had been caught telling lies on TV.
FOX once again illustrates how far it will go to further its conservative cause, even when that requires blatantly lying or sheltering its adherents from its own lens for fear of embarrassing themselves. Anyone watching for the next salient break in integrity from FOX probably will not need to wait another full week. For everyone else, it would just be best to go ahead and Turn Off FOX.
John McNuts, should be tried in Federal Court, and locked away. He has got to be the biggest, Anti American in history, terrorizing the world with that stupid Post Turtle.
Of course that shouldn't come to no surprise to anybody, after he sold out his fellow soldiers. I'm sure his fellow soldiers would of killed his ass years ago, if they had not been in the enemies hands. And to think that the Anti Americans from Shit-Zona keeps electing his sell out ass, is mind boggling.
Cindy must be crazy to take care of his sorry ass.
Not just the Media calling Palin a f**ing liar!!!!!
It's tough getting up to the front of the line of those wanting to call Sarah Palin for the truckload of lies spewed in Going Rogue. Even John McCain has gotten into the act by charging Palin with fabricating a $50,000 bill she claimed she got stuck with for her "vetting" and by praising the two aides targeted by Palin, Steve Schmidt and Nicolle Wallace.
Up in Alaska, the line is just as contentious. Everyone from Palin's first years on the Wasilla City Council to her gubernatorial aides have challenged Palin's rendition of her political career in the Last Frontier.
But perhaps the nastiest and most duplicitous passages of all in Going Rogue are those directed at Andree McLeod, the longtime Republican watchdog out of Anchorage who filed many of the Alaska Ethics Act complaints that, by Palin's own admission, hounded her from office.
Palin's venom directed at McLeod is both racist and viciously inaccurate. Perhaps a court will one day determine if it's also libelous.
McLeod, now in her mid-50s and who is of Armenian descent by way of Lebanon, is referred to as the "falafel lady" repeatedly by Palin throughout her book. It's an intended slur of ethnic derision, loaded with all of Palin's adolescent fury. It's also reminiscent of those members of Palin's "Team Sarah" who referred to Barack and Michelle Obama's Inaugural Dance as the "Watermelon Roll." The phrase is as appalling as it is infantile.
Perhaps most importantly--and this is the one issue that astonishes those in the Lower 48 when I talk to them about Palin and Alaska politics--McLeod is a tried and true Republican. So are most of Palin's staunchest critics in Alaska, from Lyda Green to Rick Rydell to Andrew Halcro.
What a piece of crap this slug is !
Afternoon all good Dems,
ronnie reegan's selfishness is finally coming to roost in California. California used to have free tuition at the State run universities. Asshole reegan became governor and was of the opinion of and said to his staff and friends "why should I pay for someone else's college educatio"n
Today under the cheap bastard republicans, they are voting to increase tuition by 32%. The governator said there is nothing else I could do.
At all the campuses, the students are pretty close to rioting trying to convince the Asshole governator to not increase the tuition. There are mass demonstratoins. The Ashsole should raise taxes on the cheap bastard republicans to pay for it. That's my answer. Screw the governor.
The only thing that McNuts, has ever been good at is crashing airplanes. And picking up turtles, and putting them on top of very high fence posts, where they don't belong. I guess he learned this from Cindy, since she picked him up off the ground and put him in high places, that he don't deserve. I bet Cindy's daddy is rolling over in his grave.
Uh, moron,
It is a comedy show.
SO WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT HAVE TO DO-----WITH BIDEN MAKING HIS REMARKS ON THE SHOW??????
You don't REALLY think Biden is in on some kind of joke do you? BIDEN SAID IT, STEWART DID NOT!!! You are truly a fool. A retarded, old fool. BIDEN SAID IT---HE SAID IT ON THE STEWART SHOW !!! You got it now, screwball?
randi rhodes said today that faux news reported on failin's book signing tour claiming that the were tens of thousands of people waiting in line.
Guess what? They were showing film from last years election campaigns. The people were carrying failin/mcloser signs. What a bunch of lying bastards.
Uh Oh, Stevie better go cash in some Gold, and Dufus better take a line of credit on that make believe Ranch of his:
DNC Raises $11.5 Million In October, Outpacing RNC
The Democratic National Committee raised $11.5 million during the month of October, a party source tells the Huffington Post.
The haul, the source says, is a monthly record for a non-presidential election year since restrictions on campaign fundraising went into effect under the McCain-Feingold Act.
The DNC still finds itself $4.4 million in debt. But the committee is gaining ground on its Republican counterpart. The Republican National Committee reportedly took in $8.79 million in October (up from the $8.74 it raised in September.
As of now, the DNC has $12.3 million cash on hand to the RNC's $11.2 million.
hannity and the loser phailin are still lying through their dentures. They are claiming that the health care system will be taken over by the government, your grandma will die, Medicare will be defunded and they won't give women mammograms.
What is wrong with these f**king liars?
We are going to have national health care with a strong public option or their will be trouble. The repukes can have it two ways. They can have it the easy way or the hard way. The American people will win in both cases.

While there would be some short term discomfort at withdrawing from the world economy, it could be done. The whole world suffering is not our concern. The suffering in the U.S. is. This is the United States of America. We do not need anyone's help or interference.
The moon is not some fantasy world. It is real and it is less than 250K miles away. And it is past time we get a permanent presence there, and other worlds, so all of humanity is not stuck on one planet. That is the classic example of having all of one's eggs in one basket. The next "dinosaur killer asteroid" or "Tunguska Event" is out there and on a collision course. Just as you diversify your portfolio, my friend, we need to diversify humanity's future. NASA, IMHO, is the best way to do just that through manned exploration.

The short answer to your question is I would trust the Speaker most with my money as opposed to Secretary Geithner for one very important reason. The Speaker is elected. The Secretary is appointed.
And if Secretary Geithner is such a financial genius, then why did he have IRS issues? Furthermore, Secretary Geithner is the epitomy of the fox guarding the henhouse. Wall St. seems to be churning along OK now but what about Main St.? Why were the Secretary and others so gung ho about giving bailouts to Wall St. but not the American auto industry? IMHO, Secretary Geithner, to date, has been a complete and dismal failure and is not to be trusted. He needs to be replaced by either Robert Reich, Paul Krugman, or Nouriel Roubini. I hope the POTUS realizes this soon.
Johne, see my 5:12 post above---with the story of Fox lying.
I'm not sure what I have more contempt for. Sarah Palin's pathological lying or the people who can say with a straight face that Sarah Palin is qualified for anything other than a reality show contestant or the the Edie McClurg role in a remake of Planes, Trains & Automobiles.
What's even more alarming is the constant reporting from the cable news people this week: Sarah Palin is famous! Wow! But no one is digging into exactly why she's famous.
And that's the heart of the matter here. She's nothing more than an overrated celebudoof. She's the equivalent of an ex-reality show star that's somehow tricked enough people into believing that a convention speech and a series of embarrassing winks qualifies her to be a national political leader -- even president -- when, in fact, she's only really qualified to be famous. She's famous for being famous.
I have yet to hear a pitch from her supporters that elevates her in any substantive way to a level beyond that of the other Republicans in the current field of potential candidates. She's famous. And. Hmm. She's famous. That's about it. Oh, and she can repeat hard-right ideology without swallowing her own tongue in the process.
It's very possible that Bill Kristol and whoever Palin's ghost-handlers happen to be are cynical enough to believe that Sarah Palin could ride a celebreality rocket ship into the White House.
They've taken a hard look at the present climate of celebrity gossip and reality television ratings and they've identified an opening in America's obvious infatuation with chewing-gum superficiality -- and they're ready to exploit it for political power. Where Ronald Reagan was a celebrity in the old-Hollywood framework, Palin is a celebrity in the talentless, Balloon Boy, reality show, Prejean, new-Hollywood framework.
Suffice to say, this strategy further devalues what it means to be considered "presidential." It chips away at all of the basic but necessary prerequisites for the gig, replacing them with nothing but the base notion of fame. Not even popularity as it applies to fame, but merely the quality of being known.
Consequently, this can only contribute to a future when we choose a president based solely upon his or her ability to achieve the most real life drama, irrespective of any sort of inherent talent for leadership, natural intelligence or any notable skills whatsoever.
A reality show president.
So it's not difficult to imagine a blurring of the line between the quality of being famous and the quality of being presidential -- an eventual time when these traits become totally interchangeable. It's already happened in Hollywood with the rise of unscripted reality and game show personalities slowly replacing actors and filmmakers, and the calculation coming from the Palin camp seems to be that this programming formula can be applied to presidential politics.
Here's how it works: Take a not unattractive rube with a screwy family and mix in some drama. Add cameras and POOF! We have a candidate/show.
Good afternoon DEMS!
As I said a while back, the reason Sorry Failin picked Grand Rapids to kick off her traveling circus is because besides being a Fundie right wing cesspool, Grand Rapids is the home of the DeVos family.
They OWN AmWay (which is HQed there) and BlackWater. All those people showing up were AmWay cultists.
The college students were more than likely from Calvin College, a right wing Fundie Dutch Reformed Young Republican factory.
That whole part of Michigan is riddled with all those cults, and the Grand Rapids area is also the home of the Michigan Militia, McVeigh's buddies, who advocate the violent overthrow of the US Government, AND have tried to do it more than once going as far back as the 1930s.
Sorry Failin was just amassing her Fundie Army for the Rapture she has planned for the Pug Party and ANYBODY ELSE who gets in the way of her ambitions.
WHY OH WHY ARE ALL REPUBLICANS LIARS?????
And now most of them are kicking themselves in the ass for being such chuckleheads. Buyers remorse is sweeping the nation.
You dream on, Stevie, and if you think that Sarah Palin could EVER stand face to face and un-do Obama, you are really a lot more stupid and insane than I ever thought you were.
Asshole coburn the okie said that he is going to read the entire bill in front of the Senate. Hey, let him make an asshole out of himself. He won't have far to go.
The Dems figure that the MSM will be there and the constituents of these assholes will see who they really are and that they don't give a damn about America or Americans.
They will come around especially when President Obama kicks them in the ass in a rare fit of rage.
I love it. Harry Reid is planning to bring it to a vote on Saturday. Wouldn't that be a great Thanksgiving present. The American people would finally have something to be thankful about after eight long years of the asshole repukes destroying America.

Bob, i digress, i'm not even going to attempt to explain it to you, its above your comprehension.
ELECTED???????????????? That's like saying that a elected city councilman, has got more relevance. then a .................?????????????????????
Some time back, I posted a report done, where they did a little assumption of Palin vs. Obama in 2012.
THEY ADDED UP THE ELECTORAL VOTES OF THOSE STATES THAT PALIN WOULD CARRY VS OBAMA!
Obama topped his 2008 numbers by FAR ! the only states the Fruitcake Palin would carry, have very few electoral votes.
REMEMBER, folks----this country's elections are won by Electoral Votes, no popular ones ! So Palin may go through all the rigamorole, spend all that campaign money she takes from poor Holy rollers, props her cheesy grin all over TV----and STILL LOSES ! Gawd, I am smiling over her concession speech, and it has not even happened !!!!! :)
bbl, Dems.
Bob thinks that people is going to live on the MOON, get real Bob. I respect you Bob, but your fantasies is insane. This won't happen for a million years, if ever.
Pam, if Palin would be so lucky to get the nomination of the Crap Fest Party, even the Southern States will go Blue.

Legacy of Secrecy: The Long Shadow of the JFK Assassination by Lamar Waldron, Thom Hartmann.
The guy was on the Thom Hartman show today. He says that nixon was involved with the mafia that led up to the assassination of John F. Kennedy. gerald ford was on the oart of the Warren Commission and was apparently involved with the assassins. The book even reveals how bush the first and cheney led the charge to steal the 1980's election by their act of treason in the Iran/Contra affair.
This sounds like a great book.
"The rifle fire in Dallas that killed John F. Kennedy didn’t just start a frantic effort to find his assassins. It also launched a flurry of covert actions by officials like Robert F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, and Richard Helms to hide U.S. plans to invade Cuba with the secret help of Cuba's Army Commander, Juan Almeida. Cover-ups by top U.S. officials prevented World War III, but also prevented a full investigation of JFK’s assassination, spawning a tragic legacy of secrecy.
Extensively documented and based on exclusive interviews and newly declassified files from the National Archives, this updated and expanded edition of Legacy of Secrecy details the full story behind Mafia godfather Carlos Marcello's confession to JFK's murder; new evidence about the assassination of Martin Luther King, including ties between James Earl Ray and Marcello, who "brokered" the hit for a Georgia white supremacist; and fresh information about Robert Kennedy’s murder, including the criminal ties of Sirhan and his two mob attorneys.
The long shadow of secrecy surrounding both JFK’s murder and the coup plan ultimately set the stage for the Watergate break-in. It drove Richard Nixon from office, triggered the murders of five Congressional witnesses, and continues to impact U.S.-Cuba relations today."

August 27, 2009: This is a brilliant 5-star book that surpasses all the previous books about the assassination of JFK (and also about Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King). And that puts this book at the head of a very big library indeed. The research is exhaustive, and leaves the readr convinced about the primary role of the Mafiosi: Carlos Marcello (New Orleans), Santos Trafficante (Tampa), and Johnny Roselli (Chicago) - with the collusion of the CIA, FBI, and blessings of Hoover - in the plot to get rid of the president - so that his brother, Robert, would no longer have the power to interfere with (let alone damage) the power of the Mafia. The cast of characters is very large (I made a spreadsheet so I could remind myself of all the interconnections among the key players)and the book is long - and takes a bit of perseverance to see it through to the finish. But the task is well worth the effort. What we always felt about the shots coming from the grassy knoll (and not from Oswald) and about the cover-up staged by the Warren Commission - emerge as all too true. Scary to think our wonderful country could descend to such skulduggery. I'd feel better if the New York Times had the "cojones" to acknowledge the truths in this book, but I am getting on in years and I don't think I'll live to see that. Maybe my gradnkids.

March 31, 2009: when it came around to shutting up DA Garrison. After JFK's assasination, the media shut him up not allowing his investigation to be out in the public.Ultimately,I came to a grim conclusion that this author needs to write another book about LBJ prior to being in the 1960 presidential race.

Yes, I think that people could live on the moon, Mars, and anywhere else we could get to. It is not a fantasy. The vast majority of the technology is available. It does not have to take a thousand years. It could be done in twenty with a proper commitment. We figured out the atomic bomb in less than four years. We got to the moon in less than a decade and that was only a bit over six decades since man first flew.

And one last thing, my friend, nothing is beyond my comprehension and yours either. While we may disagree on certain issues, as we have here today, I would never take a potshot at your intellect and I would respectfully request the same from you. We're still on the same side here even when we disagree. We would both be wise to remember such.
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner is taking fire from both sides of the aisle, as liberals and conservatives are now pushing for him to resign. In a tense exchange before the Joint Economic Committee this morning, Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) asked Geithner to resign over his handling of the economy, AIG bonuses and stimulus spending.
“Conservatives agree that as point person you’ve failed," Brady said. "Liberals are growing in that consensus as well … will you step down from your post?”
One of the "liberals" Brady was referring to is Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.), who said on MSNBC Wednesday there is "a growing consensus" that Geithner needs to be replaced.
But Geithner got testy when Brady went through a litany of economic woes including unemployment and the deficit.
“I agree with almost nothing of what you said and almost nothing of what you said represents a fair and accurate perception of where this economy is today," Geithner said. " ... You [Republicans] gave this president an economy falling off the cliff."
Brady wasn't done: “Mr. secretary, the public has lost all conf[idence] in your ability to do the job … conservatives agree, liberals agree that it’s time for a fresh start.”

While the Secretary is absolutely correct in his assertion that the current economic crisis is comletely the fault of the GOP, his actions to fix the damage have been less than desirable. I agree with Rep. DeFazio (D-OR). It's time to consider a replacement for Secretary Geithner if for no other reason then to get the fox out of the henhouse.

They just announced last week that they have found water on the Moon which opens the door for colonization but it may be years away. I would think they could live on the demarcation line between light and dark because the moon doesn't rotate and it is really hot on the sunny side which we always see and really cold on the backside. I would think man could live at the demarcation line.
It will not be easy. We could send the republicans there if they aren't too chicken.

Fox News again accused of airing misleading video
The Yahoo! Newsroom
For the second time in just over a week, Fox News is coming under fire for misusing old news footage. The latest flap is leading some people to charge that the cable news network is intentionally misleading its audience, while Fox claims a "production error."...

So what enterprising investigative reporter wants to win a Pulitzer Prize by going back through the last decade of Murdock's Faux News archives to see how many times these Far Right propagandists have faked the news?
It's funny how all it took was Sarah Palin coming out of her Alaskan igloo/bunker to get people wondering about her real persona and bio according to the conservative publicity "creationists" at RNC South Central Faux News.
It's really not Sarah's fault that they have been faking her coverage, but she does seem to bring out the worst in most conservatives?
Fakers and quitters are birds of a feather?
Dems back power to break up firms
Democrats on the House Financial Services Committee have approved a proposal that aims to expand federal powers to preemptively break up so-called “too big to fail” firms.
Offered by Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D-Pa.), the No. 2 Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee, the amendment to the financial reform bill passed, 38-29, largely along party lines, with three Democrats casting “no” votes.
Kanjorski’s amendment was hotly contested by the big financial firms that could be subject to the breakup powers, though some industry lobbyists said the language Kanjorski ultimately unveiled Wednesday is far less draconian than he was originally considering.
Nonetheless, the big financial firms are not happy with Wednesday’s vote and will continue to fight against it. Members of the New York delegation are particular targets for lobbying, given the central role the financial services industry plays in the state economy. Two New York Democrats – Gregory Meeks and Dan Maffei – voted against the Kanjorski amendment Wednesday. Rep. Melissa Bean of Illinois was the third Democratic "no" vote on the measure.
“Despite the congressman’s continued objections and statements to the contrary, this amendment would allow for the preemptive break up of financial firms based on size alone which is extremely concerning,” said on financial industry source. “The amendment is misguided, dangerous to our economy, and simply unnecessary.”
The underlying bill would have given the Federal Reserve, as the agent of the systemic risk council, power to force troubled firms to divest of certain assets. Kanjorski's amendment shifts the break-up power to the systemic risk council itself.
Under the measure, the council would have the authority to determine — using criteria such as size, scope of activities or interconnectedness — that the failure of a financial firm poses a “grave threat” to the financial system, even if the firm appears totally healthy at the time. After making that determination, the council would have the power to take steps to rein the company in to reduce the threat.
Yet breaking up the firms isn’t the only action the council could take. The legislation lays out several “mitigation” actions the council would be able to take, including terminating activities, limiting the firm’s ability to merge with or acquire other companies, restricting its ability to offer certain products and, of course, breaking up the firm by requiring it to sell, divest or otherwise transfer business units, branches, assets or off-balance sheet items to unaffiliated companies.
Kanjorski’s office says the break-up power is intended for the “most extreme cases,” though the amendment does not appear to specify different criteria for breaking up a firm as opposed to taking other actions against a risky company.
There’s no doubt that Kanjorski's measure is politically appealing, given the widespread voter anger over bailing out Wall Street, only to watch some of the perceived villains notch record-high bonuses and profits all while unemployment topped 10 percent last month.
“Today’s passage of my amendment marks a crucial step for the American people and for the protection of our financial system,” Kanjorski said in a statement “I remember the dire situation we faced last fall, and we want to do everything we can to avoid such a situation in the future. .... Most of us yearn for the day when the phrase ‘too big to fail’ is no longer a part of our vocabulary. Through responsible action advocated in this amendment, we can make that a reality.”
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1109/29689.html
Too big to fail is just a euphamism for turning a blind eye to a monopoly. This is America. We do not allow monopolies nor should we allow companies to hold American jobs hostage. The moneychangers on Wall St. would be wise to learn this lesson. The common man has had enough from these rogues thinking they can take huge financial risks with no consequences for the downside and leaving us footing the bill through tax revenues. My compliments to Rep. Kanjorski (D-PA) for getting this passed.
We could send the republicans there if they aren't too chicken.

Hi, chassie.
The Chinese, among others, have already stated that they are going to the Moon and intend to colonize it. Do you want them to get the scientific edge on us?
All we have to do is set the upper tax rates back to where Eisenhower had them and we can go back to the Moon just like JFK said we could...and rebuild our infrastructure, too. Ike was a progressive and he did it.
Once we get out of Iraq and Afghanistan, we'll have that money to repay our deficit. That should be the carrot and the stick as far as I'm concerned. If the conservatives want to pay down the debt, it's time for them to stop advocating wasting money on war profiteering.

Wednesday's incident occurred when Fox News host Gregg Jarrett mentioned that a Sarah Palin appearance and book signing in Grand Rapids, Michigan had a massive turnout. As footage rolled of a smiling and waving Palin amidst a throng of fans, Jarrett noted that the former Republican vice-presidential candidate is "continuing to draw huge crowds while she's promoting her brand-new book,'' adding that the images being shown were "some of the pictures just coming in to us.... However, the video used in the segment was from a 2008 McCain/Palin campaign rally.

I can't imagine the bright side being much hotter than earth. There is no atmosphere to hold in the heat and keep out the radiation. They will have to live inside a module of some kind anyway.
"Despite the criticism, there were growing indications Democrats would prevail on an initial Senate showdown set for Saturday night, and Majority Leader Harry Reid crisply rebutted the Republican charges. The bill "will save lives, save money and save Medicare," he said.
The legislation is designed to answer President Barack Obama's call to expand coverage, end industry practices such as denying coverage on the basis of pre-existing medical conditions, and restrain the growth of health care spending.
In the Capitol, Reid answered Republican delaying tactics with an initial test vote set for Saturday evening. A 60-vote majority is required to advance the bill toward full debate, expected to begin after Thanksgiving.
Counting two independents, Democrats control 60 Senate seats. Three moderate Democrats have been cagey about their intentions, although none of them has announced a plan to defect. Officials disclosed during the day that Reid had included in the bill a political sweetener for one of the three, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, in the form of $100 million to help her state cover health care costs for the poor.
While the struggle was forming, there were limits. Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., backed off his threat to force the 2,074-page bill to be read aloud in the Senate chamber, a move that would have eaten into the Senate's Thanksgiving-week vacation.
Given the political stakes, there was disagreement even about the bill's cost.
Democrats put the price tag of the 2,074-page measure at $979 billion, higher than the $849 billion figure they had cited Wednesday as the cost of expanding coverage to 31 million who now lack insurance. Republicans calculated it at more like $1.5 trillion over a decade, and said even that was understated because Reid decided to delay implementation of some of the bill's main features until 2014.
Officially, the Congressional Budget Office said the measure would reduce deficits by $130 billion over the next decade with probable small reductions in the 10 years that follow — forecasts that cheered rank-and-file Democrats. Among the cost-cutting provisions would be creation of an Independent Medicare Advisory Board which could be required to recommend steps limiting the growth of the program that provides health care to millions of seniors. The recommendations would go into effect automatically unless Congress blocked them.
CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf has said previously that type of arrangement would be one of the most potent weapons Congress would have to restrain the growth of Medicare, a fast-expanding program supported in part by a trust fund that is dwindling.

Space exploration, should be put on the shelf, until we can afford it if ever. If the chinese what to blow their wealth let them do it. After they do they'll still be on planet earth, just like us. You for sure pay taxes like we all do, but you sure are not near as prudent with it, as you are with your own, money
Btw Sandy you can cut me off at the knees, all you want to, but i do quite well investing. Better then 90 percent of investors. I'm even more prudent then you, i watch whats going on, everyday, every minute of the day, and shift in out of investments, constantly. And i'm just as a long term as you are. However, that don't mean you just put your money in a diversified portfolio, and forget about it. You got to make adjustments constantly. And let me tell you its a big job just to manage one's own money. I can't imagine what it would be like to try and manage the Money of this country. And Bob thinks that a elected speaker of the house could do it better then, a finacial expert, aka/ Sec. of the Treasury, little does he know. I don't want the job. For no amt. of money. I'll just manage my own thank you.
Shit-Zona, you don't know when to keep your yap shut.
WELL, L@@KY HERE. IT WAS NOT THE PEOPLE OF NEW ORLEANS, IT WAS NOT THE GOVERNOR, IT WAS BUSH'S ARMY CORPS WHO WERE TO BLAME!!!!!
Army Corps Liable for Katrina Damage, US Court Finds
Christian Science article
Army Corps' "myopic" maintenance of a shipping channel led to levee failure, much Katrina damage, US court judge rules. Appeal is expected.
Atlanta - Confirming what many New Orleanians already knew in their hearts, a federal judge ruled late Wednesday that the Army Corps of Engineers – and thus the US government – is liable for a big chunk of the damage caused when hurricane Katrina pushed ashore on Aug. 29, 2005.
The landmark ruling awards $719,000 to four plaintiffs from the city's Lower Ninth Ward and neighboring St. Bernard Parish who filed suit in 2006. The only such liability suit to actually reach a courtroom, the so-called "Mr. Go" ruling (after a shipping channel in the area) opens the floodgates for a raft of new litigation from as many as 100,000 other residents.
More important, the ruling – which called the Army Corps "myopic" in its maintenance of the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet canal (aka Mr. Go) – now puts pressure on President Obama to help the region settle claims that could reach into the billions of dollars. (Without a court judgment, the Bush administration had refused calls for a settlement.)
At the beginning of the trial this summer, US District Court Judge Stanwood Duval asked, "You all know what this is about: ... What did the Corps know, when did it know it, and when should it have known?"
He answered in a 158-page ruling late Wednesday.

chassie,
I guess we will just have to agree to disagree about this. You have your priorities. I have mine. But we both agree that we must get this country moving again.
It's not going to happen if this nation digs its feet in afraid to face the future while watching opportunities pass us by. I'm not ready for America to be a has been.
There are ways to raise money to pay off our debt and they are not undemocratic or socialist. We allowed the conservatives to retreat our economy back into living only for greed and deregulation. It almost destroyed us.
imho, I think we can do more than one thing at a time and do it well if we set our minds to it.
Did you see Haley Barbour refuse to answer Chris Matthews on whether he thought Palin was qualified to be President of the USA?
Better tap dancing, than outright lies like so many of these Repugs do! 58% say NO Palin not qualified.
And you know what-----the only way she might have been qualified, was to stay in her Governor job, continue to prove she could run government, and what did she do------SHE QUIT ! You think she had no experience before----wait till we get a hold of her next time!
Poor Republicans----all they have for a leader---is this lemon ! Like an onion---peel away the layers, and you don't even have an onion underneath. She is a shallow, vain, materialistic piece of work. Good Luck, Repugs! You are gonna need it.
Hey Dems, make sure you tuck away all those lies from her book----make some good material next year for LTEs, emails, etc.
Blog ya Dems tomorrow!

Good night SANDY, and thanks for the debate, i respect you, and will respect you in the morning.
HEE HEE.
You all take care now you hear.
"Even the Russians had enough since to quit squandering their national treasuree over such nonsense."
Whether on the moon or in Afghanistan Russians wasted so much national treasure they simply had to cease. With even less reason to hold territory in Asia the US must be very clear on the cost /benefit ratio of major initiatives in either realm, orbital or terrestrial.
Not that there isn't room to go where the hand of man has n'er set foot... as long as there is a plan. I like the idea of de-militarizing the war against terror. The trials in NY signal a shift in that direction. (The trolls bloody hate the idea.)
On Earth: How can such actions as recently seen at Fort Hood be prosecuted at their source for their criminal intent while we are constantly replenishing the ranks of suicidal affilates and recruits, shooting ourselves in the collective foot by attempting to terrorize the instigators and putting ourselves at risk of becoming "war" criminals? If we're on the side of the angels then we need to move ahead of the "enemy" instead of constantly being on the defensive.
On the moon: Water, more valuable than any ore, has recently been confirmed in abundance. That's big. That's intel that even Gerhard Oneill, whose imagineering our president no doubt recognizes, did not have. The stage is set for humankind's next big move to the "High Frontier."
The potential is limitless.
The need for it is timely. Let's not conflate global warming with the Hollywood doomsday predictions of "2012." One we can work to slow but not prevent. The other scenario just promotes helplessness. We have fewer than 100 years before the world we now find habitable becomes a fond memory. If we buy enough time to achieve an off planet migration the moon will become an invaluable staging area for manufacture of off-planet habitat and source of the elements necessary to sustain life. Expansion of Earth's bio-diversity outward to the asteroids and beyond is the only potential for optimism in any further evolution of homo sapiens.
frosty is a dumb shit isn't it?

Geithner: Fast Action Needed On Financial Overhaul
Published: Thursday, 19 Nov 2009 | 11:53 AM ET
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner is pushing Congress to move quickly in overhauling the nation's badly flawed financial rules, which he says is essential for the health of the economy.
CNBC.com
Timothy Geithner
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Both the House and Senate are making progress toward revamping the current regulations, but Geithner said a rapid conclusion is needed to keep the economic recovery on track.
"To ensure the vitality, the strength and the stability of our economy going forward, we must bring our system of financial regulation into the 21st century," Geithner told the Joint Economic Committee Thursday.
Both the House Financial Services Committee and the Senate Banking Committee are working on their own versions of sweeping overhaul plans. But the two panels are taking sharply divergent approaches in some areas.
Both proposals also face sharp opposition from major sectors in the financial industry, casting doubt on how quickly Congress will be able to reach agreement and send a finished bill to the White House.
Geithner said a key principal the administration wants to see adopted is ensuring that firms not be able to escape or avoid oversight by shopping for the most lenient regulator, a situation critics say contributed to the worst financial market crisis in seven decades.
"The fact that investment banks like Bear Stearns or Lehman Brothers or other large firms like AIG could escape meaningful consolidated federal supervision simply by virtue of their legal form should be considered unthinkable from now on," Geithner said.
Another key principle the administration wants to see approved by Congress is to make sure the financial system as a whole is more capable of absorbing shocks and coping with failures. Geithner said this will require putting a greater focus on the quality of capital that firms are allowed to hold.
Capital reserves are the cushion financial firms carry to absorb loses.

Quit plagiarizing coldsore's lies and bullshit and putting her shit comments on this site. She is a complete asshole and a fucking pig like most repukes.
haley barbour, sarah palin, lou dobbs....should be a very funny election year in 2012.
again with the silly sally predictions. i think this was all played out the past few years. without going to the archives and reposting the numerous insane and failed calls the troll made i will say that if the republicans ran some reasonable candidates they would have a shot a making some inroads into the huge advantage the democrats have built up over the past five or six years but they don't have such candidates and they have no intentions of finding any. to imagine that regional clowns like palin or barbour could do anything but get their asses kicked on in a national election is crazy. sure they would carry dixie and a moose state maybe but as for the rest of the country they would get wiped out coast to coast. so while the republicans might do well they won't because they are in the firm grip of right wing nuts who have been roundly rejected by the american people. i'll say at best in 2010 the republicans pick up 8 house seats and one senate seat....at worst ( for them) the house is a draw and they lose three senate seats....take it to the bank.
P - pathetic
A - Asshole
L - Loser
I - incompetent

There you have it: under the Obama administration's approach we won't be able to interrogate bin Laden, but that's OK--we don't need to! Do you think bin Laden might know a thing or two about al Qaeda's plans, operations, personnel and methods that it might be useful for us to find out? Leahy's claim is beyond stupid, but this is what happens when the administration embarks on a policy that simply cannot be defended.
Just like these girlies to think, that Osama Bin Laden, Mastermind and Leader of AlQaeda, will spill his guts when captured. These little strutting girls here, have no idea what Tough men are made of.
The Strong defy Pain, and the weak will say anything to make you stop, mostly all lies.
I have a feeling that Binladen would chew his own wrists open, to commit suicide, before he would give away one bit of info.
So, yeah, interrogation would produce NADA when we capture him.
Stevie likes to believe that this is the only blog that the regulars go to daily.
There are lots and lots of other excellent Progressive blogs we visit during the day, we just keep quiet about them so we do not encourage Breaking and entering and stalking by these animals.
Oh, there are always some trolls on a lot of them, but somehow, they post their nonsense and run away. Frightened little men hiding in a dark corner behind their computers, like these here. Not REAL men at all----just sorry excuses for men.
Good morning, DEMS!
Pam, what the Pugs are really worried about is that bin Laden may tell all the details of the ChimpCo Crime Family and all their dirty deals in the Mideast going back all the way to the 1920s.
That whole family is dirty.
I watched Chris Matthews grill Haley Barbor last night, and one of the questions he threw at the old jerk was----
You guys were in control for 8 years----WHY didn't you put together a Health Reform and coverage package yourself in those years? WHY did you wait until the Democrats did---and then just tear it to pieces???
Well, Barbor just kind of smirked and tap danced around the question.
Same way he did when asked if Palin was Qualified to be President of the USA. Wouldn't answer. And it is not because Barbor is on the radar screen for 2012 Presidential scene---far from it.
So Failin Palin finally after a year, came up with a list of things she reads:
NEWSMAX----Right wing Propoganda
Frontiersman Mag---A real Presidential type of mag on hunting and killing
And of course she threw in Wall Street Journal.
Now you KNOW that is a lie, because she would have told Katie Couric that if she did, PLUS she could never make her way through the news on that paper ! She just is too shallow, too dumb to even try.
Pam, the reason she said "NewsMax" is because they bought a zillion of her "books" to give away as part of the Wingnut Welfare program. And Unca Roopie the KangaRoopie owns the Wall Street Urinal.
Morning DooBee,
It would be quite interesting to hear BinLaden talk about Family connections with the Bush's.
It wouldn't surprise ME, if Osama had been on one of those planes Bush allowed to fly out of the country right after 9/11!
I posted once, a list of gifts that the Bush's, including Poppy, Babs, Laura and of course the Chimp had received from the Saudis. It was enough to keep Chimpy from ever pursuing Osama.
We might even come across a picture of Bush strolling hand in hand with Osama one of these days.
Pammy, does it ever occur to you that you can't go one day, one hour, without posting yet another tidbit about Sarah Palin? Does it not sink into that cement head of yours that you have a very serious problem in this obsession with Palin.
There are things you could take that would lessen your desire to talk incessantly about Palin.
Like rat poison.
HAHAHAHAHA
And THIS is why I do it, Thomassssss.
Because it irks the hell out of you guys----to be REMINDED that the only leader of the Repug party that has generated any excitement, is a LIAR, A DUMB ASS WHO DOESN'T KNOW SHIT, A MOTHER WHO LET HER DAUGHTER FORNICATE IN HER HOUSE, AND SOMEONE THAT TOP REPUBLICANS CALL 'A JOKE'!!!!
So, here's my tip of the day for you-------
you don't like it???
BEAT IT!!! Because I plan on the next 3 years to find and bare every single little piece of info on this unqualified, lying Mamma that I can! I plan on writing LTEs about her, and bringing bits of info I find to Network reporters. I plan on , if necessary, taking out a line of credit on my house----to finance an Anti-Palin campaign.
So read my lips, Thomasssss-----go get a job and get rid of that hatred, that sore loserism in your puffy gut !!!
It is beginning to look like chimp set a cluster bomb for the Obama administration with this hasan thing at Fort Hood.
hasan's supervisor thought he was trouble and dangerous several years ago and promoted him to get rid of him. Somehow it ended up on chimp's desk and he declined to fire the SOB thus setting a cluster bomb for President Obama. Rove and Cheney probably planned the whole thing.
I just wrote the White House and suggested that we need a high-speed train system to go from coast to coast using the Interstate Highway system right-of-way. This would be a tremendous jobs creation project providing we make all the products including the rail cars here in the US. Each state could be responsible for their portion just like they are for the Interstate Highway system. California has a very ambitious plan. Watch the video. The California plan would only cost about $5 billion. Hell, chimp lost $8 billion and pissed away $1 trillion in two illegal wars.
Off to work.
Here is the URL for the California High-Speed Rail System. It is really exciting.
PALIN'S EGO TRIP!!
Does Sarah Palin suffer from narcissistic personality disorder? Michelle Goldberg puts America’s hottest author on the couch.
All politicians may lie, but not all politicians lie like Sarah Palin. Many people in public life lie to avoid getting caught when they do something wrong; call them “I did not have sex with that woman!” lies. Or they mislead about their own experiences and accomplishments, like Hillary Clinton and her untrue tales of dodging bullets in Bosnia.
Palin, however, lies when there’s little to be gained by lying, and she lies when everyone knows the truth. If Bill Clinton were a Palin-style liar, he’d still be insisting that his relationship with Monica Lewinsky was entirely chaste, or he’d claim that he never denied it in the first place. If Hillary Clinton lied like Palin, she’d put the Bosnia anecdote in her next memoir. Palin’s new book, Going Rogue, coupled with her recent media appearances, evinces a dishonesty that seems as much clinical as opportunistic. Maybe Palin really does suffer from narcissistic personality disorder.
“She probably does believe that the basic narrative really is true,” says Bella DePaulo, author of Behind the Door of Deceit: Understanding the Biggest Liars in Our Lives. “And if the specifics of the anecdotes she tells are not so accurate—well, to her, they add up to a bigger truth.”
To be sure, some of the factually incorrect stuff in Going Rogue may be the result of ignorance as much as dishonesty. On page 391, she writes, “Ronald Reagan faced an event worse recession. He showed us how to get out of one. If you want real job growth, cut capital gains taxes and slay the death tax once and for all.” Every assertion in these sentences is untrue. The current recession is far worse than anything Reagan faced. Reagan did not get rid of the estate tax, which Palin calls the “death tax.” And capital gains taxes are lower now than they were during the Reagan administration. But Palin might not be being deliberately misleading; maybe she just doesn’t know any better. The same could be true when she claims that Barack Obama “opposed laws that would protect babies born alive after botched abortions.” Maybe it was ignorance rather than deceit that led Palin to sound off about “death panels” a few months ago.
Surely, though, Palin knew that she told the McCain campaign, in writing, that Bristol was pregnant, and so her story about McCain’s ace investigators digging the information up on their own was a lie. Either she was lying last year, when she told Sean Hannity that before accepting the offer to join the McCain ticket, she’d taken a family vote, or she was lying on Monday, when she told Oprah Winfrey she’d done no such thing. Emails released by former McCain staffers show that she was lying about her eagerness to appear on Saturday Night Live. A number of reporters and bloggers have tirelessly catalogued all this mendacity, particularly Palin nemesis Andrew Sullivan.

DooBee, I am getting a kick out of the Repugs, trying to make believe that Obama won, because of ACORN!
It shows just how stupid people are---as to what ACORN does. It registers people to vote. And when the newly registered people show up at the polls----they must be crossed off a list of eligible voters !
Yet, the hatred for Obama, the racism, the sour grapes are SO strong, they are willing to believe anything !
Maybe NOW, they are beginning to get an understanding of WHY we were so upset when Bush stole the 2000 election---but in that case, it was a legitimate reason
GOOD NEWS. LET'S GET ALL OF OBAMA'S APPOINTEES CONFIRMED! LET'S START TURNING THESE EXTREME RIGHT WING COURTS BACK AROUND !
The Senate confirmed Judge David Hamilton to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals 59-39 Thursday after breaking a GOP filibuster Tuesday and a five-and-a-half month delay.
Sen. Richard Lugar (R-Ind.), who represents Hamilton's home state of Indiana, cast the lone Republican vote for the judge.
“This is a nomination that should be confirmed and should have been confirmed months ago," said Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) in a statement. "David Hamilton is a fine judge and will make a good addition to the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit."
Good afternoon fellow Americans. Good morning to the other time zones.
Want lower credit card interest? Keep spending, Citi says
By Candice Choi, AP Personal Finance Writer
NEW YORK — For Citibank credit card holders, there is one way to escape the bank's rate hikes currently underway: Meet a monthly spending requirement.
http://www.usatoday.com/money/perfi/credit/2009-11-20-citi-rates_N.htm?csp=34
CitiBank says that they reduced my credit limit and as Washington has asked me, I have been paying down my credit cars bill, while lowering my bill. Then CitiBank raises the interest rates on a low subprime rate, and then says card holders must charge certain limits or they will be charged a service fee. What the hell Washington, what are you doing? You are putting the middle class into purgatory.
So CitiBank lowers credit cards limits and raises the amount due, and then apply a limit in how much a chard holder must charge. Why any idiot can see that is CitiBank CEO Creative Accounting screwing Americans. Complain about it and you have someone from India with all your personal information overseas telling you they cannot due anything.
With the subprime so low and the credit card companies charging super high rates, Wall Street is rolling in the dough. Now add the other charges for service fees and you have a system of loan sharking.
Since Washington is running CitiBank, I guess all these service charges are for CEO bonuses, and political perks.
