This is the GOP’s Health Plan? Seriously?

House Republicans will finally unveil their health reform “plan” this week. Not surprisingly, it does almost nothing to rein in some of the insurance industry’s worst practices that make our system less stable, less secure and hard to access in the first place.
The House Republicans' proposal WON’T stop insurance companies from denying coverage based on a pre-existing condition - in fact people with pre-existing medical conditions would pay up to 50 percent more for insurance coverage. It WOULDN’T prohibit insurance companies from canceling someone’s coverage an individual becomes sick and needs it most. And it DOESN’T include tax credits to help individuals buy insurance on the private market or cap the amount insurance companies can charge annually for out-of-pocket costs.
Steve Benen may have put it best: “It's a proposal only an insurance company executive could love.”

They don't care about the middle class and especially about our health. It's that simple.
Post your ideas on a new name that can be used to refer to the Republican Health Reform Plan. Maybe it should be called GopCare, RepubliCare, ScrewuCare, ElephantCare, WeDon'tCare, SelfishCare. They like to target individual names ie. ObamaCare, PelosiCare.

The bastards will finally care about the middle class when those of us in the middle class threaten 1200 round per minute 30 caliber violence, and not until. Class warfare has been perpetrated upon us for generations, and when the victims take matters into their own hands, AMAZING!!! Things finally get done. My ancestors dropped that horrible 200 lb razor blade{A guillotine} every 30 seconds during Frances reign of terror, and I hope to Satan or whoever is listening, that it happens here and soooooon.
Psssst!! "Let em eat cake" policies didn't work 215 years ago. What makes them think they'll work now.
The GOP is being realistic. America can ill afford the Democratic plan for healthcare. Heck, the government can't even get the H1N1 shots out to the people. How on earth do you all expect to run this healthcare program?
If Congress isn't FORCED to use the same plan as the American people, it shouldn't pass. Period.
If America is truly a representative republic, I hope the Blue Dogs hold firm and vote against the party in favor of the people they are supposed to represent. If they vote with the party on this freedom-eroding bill, I will throw my support to the Republicans in every election until I die. I am ashamed to be in a party headed up by people who refuse to listen to their constituents.
I can't either side is fighting this hard. This party is supposed to care about us and not big business but here they are spending money and effort on healthcare when they need to fix the economy. Fix healthcare in the good times and just provide a wider health safety net now. Congress should not spend a moment doing anything that does not put America back to work. I am still employed but earning 1/4 of what I earned last year and living on savings that is running out but I do not qualify for any help. yet Congress Bout sides of the asile are looking for more ways to spend what we do not have. FIX HEALTHCARE BUT PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST.
We will address this during the good times?
You Republicans NEVER address problems. So you'd let a leaky roof continue to deteriorate till it falls in on you?
If the conservatives could borrow to finance welfare for the wealthy and TARP money to pay off their gambling debts, we can afford to make sure healthcare is available to all Americans. We owe it to those in the middle class that have paid the highest percentage of their wages over the years to give luxuries to the top 2%.
We especially owe it to those American workers who lost their jobs due to Republican outsourcing, privatization, deregulation, or just plain greed by multinationals. It's time to take care of our citizens not the desires of those opportunists that work with exploiters overseas to undermine our future growth and stability.
I've had enough of these citizens of the world. I want my emergency room free of the uninsured. I'm sick of insurance companies pushing the cost off onto the rest of us and then skimming a huge profit off the top for the privilege of continuing this broken, inefficient health care delivery system.
It's time to fire the incompetents no matter what industry they control. Full coverage will create a pool to insure efficiencies and competition will control costs. It's simple supply and demand. The Republicans have only allowed monopolies to exist.
The biggest obstical of democratic party's success is ourselves-- democrats. We saw repeatedly Republicans can set aside individual's difference and vote together to pass legistrations championed by their leaders, especially, the Repuclican Presidents. And us Democrats always faught among ourselves, undermined our presidents' agenda to promote individual's. Shame on us Democrats!
I have a question. A right wing friend of mine is saying that if the Obama plan passes then people will be forced to buy a $15,000 ins. policy and if we don't then we can go to jail? Is this true? If not can someone tell me why?
Julie ... your right wing friend is almost correct. In Part VIII Subpart A of HR3962 it places a tax on those that have a taxable income and do not have "Acceptable Health Care Coverage". I suppect that since the IRS will be collecting this tax,the court papers will cite none payment of taxes instead of none accteptable health care. But the results will be the same if a individual tries not to pay the tax for none "Acceptable Health Care". If you don't pay your taxes ... then the results is jail time.
Julie ... I tried to answer your question but it was deleted. Look in the Health Bill HR3962 Part VIII subpart A. And ask yourself what happens if your don't pay this tax.
Maybe telling you to read the bill, won't be bad enough to have my post deleted again.
