The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is seeking a Data Scientist to join its Data Science team.

The Data Scientist will become a key member of the Data Science team, collaborating on a variety of projects within the DNC and in support of Democratic campaigns and party committees across the country. The position’s primary responsibility will be building and applying predictive models in support of voter outreach, volunteer recruitment, election forecasting, and fundraising efforts. The Data Scientist will take part in all aspects of the modeling process, from initial research design and data collection through model scoring, release, and updating. This role will also be part of a small group working to continually improve our analytic infrastructure, in order to increase both the efficiency and accuracy of our modeling projects.

About You:

You should have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in positions performing quantitative analysis of complex and diverse datasets, ideally in a political or nonprofit context, with a particular preference given to those with experience using predictive modeling for fundraising or political outreach
  • Advanced proficiency in statistical programming using Python (preferred) or R in a data science context, including the use of machine learning and other predictive modeling techniques
  • Familiarity with the Python data science stack, especially Pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn
  • Experience contributing production code and participating in related processes (e.g., version control, maintaining technical documentation, distributed software development) as part of a highly-collaborative team

TThe Deputy Director for Surrogate Operations, located within the Political department, works with departments across the DNC to establish and manage centralized scheduling for surrogates to support and advance the strategy and goals of the Democratic Party. The National Director of Community Engagement will work to promote advocacy among various progressive political leaders and activists across the country. This position implements a national progressive outreach strategy and coordinates regional constituent and outreach activities. The National Director of Community Engagement is a Senior Staff level position at the DNC, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
