The Democratic National Committee is currently seeking a dependable, highly motivated, well-organized individual to serve as a Data Analyst as part of the Voter File team. The Data Analyst will work closely with other members of the DNC Data Services Department in providing critical voterfile data to Democratic campaigns across the country.

Responsibilities
  • Process incoming voter lists, election history and other data sets in to the DNC National Voter File, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of the process.
  • Work with the Voter File team to maintain and improve the file update process
  • Run ad-hoc analysis to investigate problems or answer questions about the National Voter File
  • Collaborate with others in the Data Services team to meet the data needs of Democratic Campaigns and Committees
  • Coordinate the collection and aggregation of voter file and elections data from elections officials and campaigns
About You

You are committed to progressive causes and electing Democrats. You have 1 or 2 years of practical experience working with campaign data or in a technology field with a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent. You have experience with and enjoy working on a team in a fast-pace environment. You have experience working with SQL relational databases and an understanding of basic ETL concepts. You may also have:

  • Experience loading, manipulating and processing large data files (especially voter files or similar data)
  • Familiarity with basic data warehousing
  • Some experience programming in languages such as Python, Ruby, PHP or Java

DIRECTOR FOR SURROGATE OPERATIONS
Surrogate Department

Description

The Director for Surrogate Operations works with departments across the DNC to establish and manage a centralized surrogate program and advance the strategy and goals of the Democratic Party. This position will oversee staff that provide scheduling and provide logistical planning for surrogates to appear at events on behalf of the Democratic National Committee and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer of the DNC.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with relevant team members to design and execute a strategic program that maximizes surrogate participation and engagement across the country
  • Work with all departments to achieve political and communications goals
  • Oversee and manage staff that implement all travel, logistical planning, promotion, staffing needs, and briefing materials for high-level surrogates and their events
  • Assist in writing and editing trip briefings for all surrogates
  • Work closely with the Communications team to provide all media surrogates; this includes bookings for TV, radio, press conferences, coordinated event surrogate asks, and relationship maintenance
  • Assume primary responsibility for managing and executing all new and ongoing projects to support the program’s short- and long-term goals
  • Oversee and manage a professional team tasked with every aspect of the surrogate experience

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Management, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of work experience, with a focus on political communications or communications management.
  • Extensive and in-depth familiarity with current U.S. political landscape, including personalities, parties, and processes.
  • Ability to handle sensitive political issues as well as maximize leadership engagements.
  • Ability to represent the DNC with maturity and judgment and interact with high-level political, non-profit, and other leaders.

The Director of Jewish Engagement will work closely with the National Director of Community Engagement, the Community Engagement team as well as DNC staff to implement effective outreach to the respective communities. Trackers are our eyes and ears, instrumental in the work we do to hold Republicans accountable for their statements and proposals. They are on the ground, attending the Republican events documenting and monitoring the opposition while staying in close contact with the research team in DC. In this position, the Tracker will:

Responsibilities
  • Monitor in-state schedules for Republican presidential hopefuls and major surrogates in cooperation with DC Research staff
  • Attend all public events where possible presidential candidates and major surrogates appear and videotape their remarks
  • Immediately flag news-worthy remarks or happenings from the event and quickly transmit the footage to the DC Research office
  • Assist in transcriptions and additional on the ground research needs as requested
