The DWA is the latest chapter in the Democratic Party’s long commitment to activating more women. It serves as the Democratic Party’s formal coalition of organizations and leaders who have made it their mission to amplify women’s voices in politics. The DWA’s primary focus is to grow and engage the number of women involved in the party at all levels from those who want to make educated decisions at the ballot box to women who decide to run for office. The DWA Director will work at the direction of the Director of Community Engagement, work with the Community Engagement team as well as DNC staff and the Women’s Caucus Chair to implement effective outreach to the four women’s entities that exist within the DNC including the Women’s Leadership Forum, ASDC, National Federation of Democratic Women and the DNC Women’s Caucus. The DWA Director is also responsible for coordinating with these groups to ensure they are working in parallel, mobilizing women voters, engaging women’s groups and alliance partners and preparing training initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate with the four women’s entities that exist within the DNC.
  • Create content for newsletters, webinars and training initiatives.
  • Cultivate relationships with women’s organizations and facilitate involvement as it relates to Committee objectives.
  • Field calls from various women’s alliances.
  • Research and analyze women’s rights issues and trends and preparing background materials and documents.
  • Work with the DNC Women’s Caucus Chair to plan the agenda and execute the DNC Women’s Caucus Meetings
  • Staff DNC Women’s Caucus Chair at events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Engagement.
  • Oversee and coordinate with the four women’s entities that exist within the DNC.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science or Gender Studies (or equivalent work experience).
  • Strong interest in women’s issues.
  • Well-honed engagement and outreach skills, including at least two (2) years of campaign, organizational and/or equivalent experiences, with proven ability to handle multiple tasks successfully
  • Experience working with a state party preferred.
  • An advanced understanding of and demonstrated experience working with progressive leaders and groups.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in handling several tasks, simultaneously.
  • Ability to receive constructive criticism and learn from feedback.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and strong written skills.

DIGITAL PRODUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT

The Democratic National Committee is looking to hire a Digital Production Assistant to help run one of the largest and most active digital programs in the country. In this position, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining beautiful webpages and elegant user experiences for Democrats across the country, getting written communications from Democratic leaders -- up to and including President Obama, Vice President Biden, and the First Lady -- to millions of Democratic supporters, and you'll be involved in the optimization and analytic operations of the Democratic Party.

This is an entry-level position, but we're looking for someone who wants to be the next Democratic digital star, and if you are willing to learn and work really long hours, we will give you the opportunity to become that. This position reports to the Director of Email, but will work with others in the Technology and Digital Departments to design and develop email and web properties.

Responsibilities
  • Be on point for setting up and sending email from Democratic leaders to one of the largest supporter lists in politics.
  • Producing clean, professional user experiences on tight timelines, and with coordination across our engineering team and non-technical departments.
  • Keeping code clean, well-documented and ensuring performance across browsers.
  • Managing a variety of projects and portfolios from start to finish.
  • Assisting in the management of an email calendar, and ensuring complicated initiatives come together.
  • Analyzing and reporting the results of emails campaigns.
  • Spotting trends in our data and strategizing on how to use new information.
  • Assisting with and creating email test plans.

This is not an entry-level job, and you’ll work with senior leadership to craft our message online.

Requirements
  • One election cycle or 2+ years experience working in digital strategy for an electoral campaign, advocacy organization or non-profit.

HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Director of Human Resources in supporting DNC staff. This position carries out responsibilities in employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, recruitment/employment, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Assists in managing all HRIS (HR Information Systems) and applications including but not limited to WorkForce Now, Quickbase, etc.)
  • Plan and assist in planning employee events.
  • Assists in maintaining all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.
  • Assists in various aspects of payroll administration.
  • Personnel Intake – Monitor Quickbase and implement personnel intake process; generate and transmit confirmation letters and new hire packets for all new staff; collect, review and organize all incoming HR documentation; input all new hire data into HRB; create and maintain personnel files; update staff contact list.
  • Assists in ensuring compliance, monitoring and updating I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification log; maintain files for I-9 forms.
  • Monitor and maintain list of new and cancelled employees for medical and dental plans.
  • Assists in monitoring and maintaining employee eligibility for 401(k) participation. Ensure all proper paperwork is completed and distributed accordingly.
  • Manage the resume tracking/storage system.
  • Provide back-up for Orientation sessions.
  • Respond to inquiries for financial and employment verification.
  • Respond to staff inquiries and assist with HR troubleshooting.
  • Other duties, as assigned by the Director.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three (3) years of human resources experience; undergraduate degree or equivalent is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office), computer hardware and computer servers.
  • Proficiency with computer software applications, especially Microsoft Office, AdobeProfessional, .pdf Creater, OCR, Quickbase and human resource applications.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Knowledge of office administration procedures.
  • Ability to operate most standard office equipment.
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

TRACKER

Trackers are our eyes and ears, instrumental in the work we do to hold Republicans accountable for their statements and proposals. They are on the ground, attending the Republican events documenting and monitoring the opposition while staying in close contact with the research team in DC. In this position, the Tracker will:

Responsibilities
  • Monitor in-state schedules for Republican presidential hopefuls and major surrogates in cooperation with DC Research staff
  • Attend all public events where possible presidential candidates and major surrogates appear and videotape their remarks
  • Immediately flag news-worthy remarks or happenings from the event and quickly transmit the footage to the DC Research office
  • Assist in transcriptions and additional on the ground research needs as requested
