Tennessee Deputy Director of Fundraising
Job Description
The Tennessee Democratic Party is searching for a Deputy Director of Fundraising. This position will be part of a dynamic team, including the Fundraising Director, the Chairman, and the Executive Director, whose principle responsibility is working with existing donors and recruiting new supporters. This position will lead in donor research and staffing Call Time. Based in our Nashville office, this person reports directly to the Fundraising Director and also works directly with the Chairman.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Chairman and assist the Director of Fundraising to implement a comprehensive fundraising plan
- Assist in planning Local, Regional, and Statewide fundraising events, including annual Jackson Day celebration and Music Row events
- Conduct and review research on prospective donors and develop and recommend strategies
- Prep, staff, and complete follow-up procedures for the Chairman's Call Time
- Arrange and attend meetings with donors and prospective donors
- Identify and evaluate new donors, while strengthening relationships with current donors
- Assist in creating advertisements, event invitations, and promotional materials for the Party
- Maintain and supervise maintenance of donor records in NGP database for fundraising and compliance purposes
- Provide training/information to volunteers and interns as required
- Solicit donations in-person, by phone, and in writing
- Work with Director of Communications and Data Director on targeted email and mail fundraising

- Event management experience strongly preferred
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
- Fluent in Microsoft Word and Excel; NGP experience preferred
