Defending America is not just a question of defending our borders. We must continue to support and train our military to meet the challenges of 21st-century threats. Under the guidance of Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and his predecessor Secretary Robert Gates, President Obama and congressional Democrats have made modernizing our military a top priority while eliminating outdated programs and unnecessary spending.
