Recent college graduate Adrienna was one of the first supporters in line at today’s rally with the President in Columbus, Ohio.
After graduating from the University of Toledo with a degree in Chemistry, Adrienna found it hard to find a good job amidst the challenging economy.
"It was tough to find a job, with the economy in bad shape. I took what I could find and started working at a grocery store. I moved in with my parents to save up for buying a house."
But after hearing about the first-time homebuyer tax credit that the President signed in 2009, Adrienna knew it was her chance.
In March, Adrienna, bought her first home in Canal Winchester, Ohio, with the help of the new tax credit.
"I'm here today because I'm a huge supporter of President Obama, and I love Michelle,” she says. “I want to be like her when I grow up."
Adrienna and young graduates like her are facing uncertain times. But the first-time homebuyer tax credit and other efforts of the Obama Administration mean Adrienna and others have a shot at the American dream.
