Throughout his presidency, President Obama has made clear his commitment to women. The first law he signed was the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, he nominated two women for the Supreme Court, and Obamacare will prevent insurance companies from considering a woman’s gender a pre-existing condition. Now, President Obama is speaking out against those who wish to deny women the right to make their own medical decisions.

My mother, Nancy Pelosi, is the Democratic Leader in the U.S. House of Representatives and the first woman to lead a national political party in America. From the moment she won her first race for House leadership, my mother’s mantra has been “we have made history; now we must make progress.”
