Chairman Tim Kaine urges Republicans in Congress to drop their partisan obstruction and join with Democrats to pass the DREAM Act—legislation that would strengthen our nation’s military and economy.

President Obama and Democrats in Congress are ensuring that America’s service members have the resources they need to succeed on the battlefield and also to thrive upon their return home. And on this Veterans Day, we join all those around the country who are showing their strong support for our veterans.

This summer, Democrats celebrated the 45th anniversary of the Medicare program. That program, which has provided generations of American seniors with access to critical medical care and has unburdened countless families from medical debts associated with old age, was the product of a nearly twenty year fight by Democratic leaders and middle class families for Medicare legislation.

Chairman Tim Kaine on today's "new" GOP agenda: “Today’s roll out of the GOP’s campaign agenda is as we predicted: it has no new ideas, would return America to the failed policies that nearly sank our economy into a second Great Depression and would saddle this and future generations with crushing debt and deficit to satisfy the Republican Party’s urge to give tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires."

Tim Kaine: "Last month, Republican Senate candidate Joe Miller said that Republicans must have the "courage to shut down the government." Republican Congressman Steve King recently demanded a "blood oath" from House Minority Leader John Boehner to ensure the full repeal of health care reform -- even if it means shutting the government down."
