Hold John Boehner To His Word

Posted by

As the price of gas continues to climb, we are focused on finding ways to provide relief to the American public. President Obama has proposed a plan for America’s energy future, but in the meantime, there’s something we can do right away to help families struggling with higher fuel prices.

Each year, oil and gas companies currently receive roughly $4 billion in tax breaks. We can end those subsidies and reinvest that money in clean-energy technology – if both parties come together.

Speaker John Boehner has already said that ending this giveaway for the gas and oil industry is "certainly something we should be looking at." But we’re asking him to make that commitment in writing – will you help?

Contact his office and ask him to make it clear if he stands with the energy companies or with the American people on this issue.

Call Speaker Boehner: (202) 225-0600.

"We are holding you to your word, @SpeakerBoehner. It's time to put an end to tax breaks for big oil & reduce our dependence on foreign oil."

After you contact his office, will let us know how it went?
