The U.S. Supreme Court issued its landmark Roe v. Wade decision on January 22, 1973. It was a monumental moment in my life as well as the lives of women across the country. For the first time, we had the right to make decisions about our own bodies.

Roe v. Wade and the pro-choice agenda is not simply about a woman’s right to choose—it is also about trusting women and their families to make informed decisions. It is a fundamental human right that must be protected.
As we celebrate the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we must look back and recognize the courage of those who fought for reproductive rights, and we must look ahead to a new generation that must be ever-vigilant in protecting those hard-fought rights.
