Romney and Cain tied for first

A new CBS News poll released yesterday finds that Mitt Romney and former Godfather's Pizza CEO Herman Cain are neck and neck for first place in the Republican presidential nomination.

Both candidates have 17 percent of the vote.

National Journal's Hotline On Call reports that "Cain's outsider profile…appears to have resonated among Tea Party voters."

That message has got to sting for Governor Romney, the eternal presidential candidate, but it's just another indication of how desperate Republican voters are to find a new candidate to support.
