Throughout the day -- on the blog and through social media -- we’ll be covering two important events: President Obama’s 11:40 a.m. speech on the Middle East and North Africa and the Women’s Leadership Forum. Here’s what’s happening:
The President’s speech: Beginning at 11:40 a.m. ET, President Obama will deliver a major address on the Middle East and North Africa and U.S. policy in the region. Speaking from the U.S. State Department, the President will discuss regional changes and the opportunity this moment presents to forge a more democratic future, along with economic support the U.S. can facilitate to achieve those ends.
Watch the speech live at 11:40 a.m. ET: whitehouse.gov/live.
The Women’s Leadership Forum: Throughout the day, Democratic leaders and activists are gathering in Washington to discuss issues important to women and our country. Among the list of featured speakers are President and Michelle Obama, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.
