This is why marriage matters, and civil union isn't enough.

Isn't it time for one of the top tier Dems to stand up for true family values. Can someone explain why as a gay American I'm not entitled to equal protection under the law?

When is my party going to stand up to this president and pull the plug on this disaster we call the Iraq War? We are constantly being told by the media and our own elected officials that the Dems just don't have the vote to withstand a veto by the criminal Bush. So what! Let Bush veto a bill that calls for a troop withdrawal. Let him explain to the American people why after 5 years of warfare there is no end in sight to the slaughter of our soldiers. Let him grovel to the Congress for ever penny that goes into Iraq. Unless my party wants to see a repeat of Chicago 1968 they had better stop enabling this war and start make real plans to bring our troops home and do the job they were elected to do! Enough is enough!
New Tuesday Ann Coulter will be Chris Mathew's guest on MSNBC's Hardball. I urge of all you boycott Hardball on next Tuesday. You can also share your comments with the show's producers at the following link:

I can't speak for all of you, but I for one was frankly rather disgusted to hear yesterday on Meet The Press that Barak Obama has sought out the advice of Colin Powell. Powell has yet to apologize to the people of American for his very vigorous support of Bush's war in Iraq. Quite the opposite, in fact he went to great lengths to defend his prewar stance. Barak what the hell are you thinking seeking out this man's advice, he deserves our scorn, not our respect. Like far too man who have been of this president's administration, loyalty to the man out weighted loyalty to the nation or it's institutions!
And if defending his war stance wasn't enough he went on to defend "Don't ask, don't tell". Shame on your Barak for seeking out this man's advice.

Wow, what a suprise, Hillary is running for president. You could have knocked me over with a feather! Right up front Hillary is not my first choice for the nomination, I'm supporting John Edwards. However I did have a feeling of excitment when I watched Senator Clinton's announcement today on the Internets. Read More »
Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (D-Del.), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said yesterday that he believes top officials in the Bush administration have privately concluded they have lost Iraq and are simply trying to postpone disaster so the next president will "be the guy landing helicopters inside the Green Zone, taking people off the roof," in a chaotic withdrawal reminiscent of Vietnam.
"I have reached the tentative conclusion that a significant portion of this administration, maybe even including the vice president, believes Iraq is lost," Biden said. "They have no answer to deal with how badly they have screwed it up. I am not being facetious now. Therefore, the best thing to do is keep it from totally collapsing on your watch and hand it off to the next guy -- literally, not figuratively." Read More »

This is an amazing interactive done on the war dead by the New York Times. For those of you who think we have something to gain by staying in Iraq you should take a look at this and ask yourself how many more faces you want added to the graphic.

In some head-to-head match ups, McCain leads Clinton by four points (47 to 43 percent) and Obama by five points (43 percent to 38 percent). But â€" in an interesting twist â€" the Arizona senator trails Edwards by two points (43 percent to 41 percent). Read More »

Last week I went and saw the movie Bobby. Frankly I didn't think it was that great a movie, not a lousy movie, but not a great movie. However it did make me long for someone of his stature to come fourth and say enough is enough. Read More »
You write a brief intro in the post text box and then the remainder in the extended post text box. That way people who don't want to read your post aren't forced to endlessly scroll past it. It's just good manners folks. Come on!
Despite the administrations willingness to admit it Iraq has slid beyond the point where we can do anything to halt the impending full scale civil war. Despite Bush's chatter of having heard the voice of the American public in the most recent election and his long overdue firing of Rumsfeld nothing on the ground in Iraq has changed for our troops. They still remain in the line fire and can do nothing to halt the growing violence that is taking place between the religious groups. Over the past few days we've seen over 200 people in Baghdad alone killed in one day. People are now being dragged out of houses of worshipped, doused with kerosene and set a fire. At what point do we start admitting that Iraq is engaged in a full scale civil war? Read More »
