And, oh how we need a quick and efficient way to tell Reid and Pelosi of the absolutely essential need to stand up to Bush on the surge and additional billions for Iraq.
Bush seems to have been successful in shaping the CW to believe if we leave now or soon the whole ME will explode - seems that even some of our leading candidates are even leaving this CW either unchallenged or as the jumping off point for other arguments.

Is it a reasonable assumption?

Today Kevin Drumm over at Political Animal [Washington Month blog] raises that question. Link He had over 100 comments last time I was there.

Essentially Kevin doubts it, and a substantial number of the commentors there raise the idea that this may be this war's Domino Theory.

What say you? Perhaps more importantly what are Clinton, Edwards, Obama, et ali saying?

Personally, I think it is wrong, and, more importantly, I think it must be forcefully challenged/confronted.
Ed Kilgore on the Democratic Strategist site has some interesting thoughts on Petraeus this morning.

Highly recommended.
In terms of our announced candidates for the 2008 Presidential election, we have a wonderful field, and I am having a hard time dealing this actually very nice dilemma.

It appears that Clinton, Edwards, and Obama [listed in alpha order] are the three most likely to garner the nomination.

So I would love to hear from commited partisans of each how they came to their choice.

So, Gov. Dean, can we have a little help here?
After spending 12 great years in San Francisco, my wife and I have returned to the Inland Empire. Now in Redlands we were formerly active in Democratic campaigns in Riverside.

I want to be a part of efforts to elect Democratic candidates all across San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. I can't believe Jerry Lewis represents me in Congress for instance.

I am retired. I have some computer database experience, and have managed two successful school board campaigns in Riverside Unified.

I am looking to connect with like minded individuals. On the other hand, I am way too old to tilt at windmills.
