Seat Florida's Delegates
About the Author
I live in Broward County, FL. I voted in the FL primary. My wife voted. My parents voted. My in-laws voted. My friends voted. There was a record turnout. The DNC better sit Florida's delegates. If they don't, many Florida Democrats, including myself will boycott November's election. Last time I checked, Florida has 27 electorial votes. That's 10% of the votes needed to win the White House. Florida's citizens had nothing to do with moving up the primaries. It was done by Florida's Republican Legislature. You fools are handing the White House to McCain. As a FL Attorney, I am disgusted with the Howard Dean.

I am a Democrat. Still, I cannot vote for the junior Senator with just 3 years experience in Washington, D.C. Perhaps if he had served as Governor, I might reconsider. However, Obama's resume is as thin, to say the least. Yes we can... It sounds great but I'm not a believer. In 2000, George Bush told America that he was a "uniter" and that he had a long history of "reaching across the aisles" while serving as Governor in Texas. Well, we all saw how that worked out. The Democrats are poised to win more seats in the House and Senate. I don't know how necessary it will be for Obama to work with the GOP. Chances are he won't. Afterall, he is so far to the left that there's practically no chance that he will be able to build consensus with the Republicans. As much as I hate to say it, McCain will get my vote. I don't think that he will pack the Supreme Court with judges to overturn Roe v. Wade. I don't consider McCain a typical Republican and I definitely don't see him as Mc-Bush. The tax cuts will expire and the Democratic Congress will not allow them to be renewed. I trust McCain on the War more so than Obama. If I had my druthers, I would be voting for Hillary Clinton or John Edwards. Now, all of you Obamaniacs, blast me. Tell me I'm a troll. Criticize me and tell me that I'm stupid. That appears to be your style. Sincerely yours, an Attorney in South Florida.
This is my last posting. I am voting for McCain. My wife is voting for McCain. My parents and in-laws are now voting for McCain. Most of my friends are voting for McCain. Obama has no chance of winning in FL. Whether he can win OH, PA, or MI remains to be seen. Good luck to all and G-D BLESS AMERICA.
There's no way in hell that Obama can beat McCain in November. He is damaged goods thanks to the likes of Reverend Wright, Michael Pfleger, and William Ayers, not to mention his comments about Pennsylvanians being bitter and clinging to their guns and religion. Obama has belonged to Trinity Church for 20 years. Why hasn't he quit it? The answer is simple. The members of his Church are his political base. That's all well and good but it doesn't sit well with White America. Obama will not win the following groups: (1) white women (2) lower income white men (3) hispanics (4) jews. The only voting blocks that Obama cam count on are black americans, well at least 92% of them. The entire reason for the existence of Superdelegates is to lead the party to victory. The Super delegates are cowards. I hope that they change their mind otherwise McCain will be our next president. You can take that to the bank.
Its quite amazing how the media reports only what is favorable to Obama. Last week, he spoke at a synagogue in Boca Raton, FL. When he arrived, he was supposed to speak from the beamer (stage). However, he was asked to wear a yarmulka. Obama refused. Consequently, Obama was not allowed to speak from the beamer (stage). Instead, they had to rearrange all of the seats so he could speak from the floor. The media reported that the speech started late but they did not say why. Come on. What's the big deal with wearing a yarmulka? Wearing one doesn't make you jewish. Heck, the pope wears a beanie on his head too. Talk about being out of touch. What did Obama expect? Afterall, he was visiting a jewish synagogue on Boca Raton, FL.
The Republicans are laughing their asses off. Obama is going to be the Democratic Nominee because he has won more delegates and the Superdelegates are cowards. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize what's going on here. Obama's success in Red States and caucuses have placed him in position to be the nominee. Guess what? Caucuses are undemocratic. How many senior citizens can sit around for hours waiting to vote? How many hard working middle class voters can take off from their jobs to caucus? How many housewives can find a babysitter to watch their kids so they can caucus. No wonder why Obama kicked major butt in caucus states. He has also won in many Red States. Whoop de dooo. We now have a candidate that cannot win Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. I hope that Hillary takes her case to the Convention. She is our best hope regardless of what Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi want.
Just curious. Please reply simply by stating either Obama or Clinton. No editorials are being requested.

As for me, well, I'm a PROUD SUPPORT OF HILLARY CLINTON.
I sincerely hope that if Clinton isn't the Democratic Nominee, she decides to run as an Independent. I think that if she runs as an Independent, none of the candidates will reach 271 electorial votes. Should that be the case, I presume that she would end up as President. Thereafter, American politics would be changed forever and we would have a three (3) party system. This, my friends, is how to fix Washington, D.C.
Team Hillary is organizing a protest the morning that the rules committee meets. They are offering free transportation to Floridians to Washington, DC. Its going to be a very interesting situation. Stay tuned.
To date, nobody has explained to me why Obama didn't remove his name from the FL ballots. Afterall, he removed his name from the MI ballot.

Said differently, why did Obama remove his name from the FL ballot but not the MI ballot.

Somebody answer this question. I know the theories; i.e., Obama knew he was going to lose MI but thought that he could be competitive in FL. I can only assume that's "spin." There must be another reason.

Its inconsistent. Obama should have been on both ballots or neither. Please advise. A confused Floridian Democrat.
I know its downright silly but McCain is likely to die in office. Just kidding folks but I can't vote for Obama. I'm too bitter and busy clinging to my guns and religion. I live too far from Chicago to visit his Church too. So, if Obama is the Democratic Nominee I will cross over and vote for McCain. Obama has nothing to offer. He has never reached across party lines to form bipartisian support. Its all rhetoric. George W. Bush claimed in 2000 that his tenure as Governor of Texas showed a record of him reaching across the aisles to build bipartisian support for legislation. Hogwash. This is Washington, DC. Obama can't fix it. Republicans will be Republicans and Democrats will be Democrats. No junior Senator from Illinois can change that even with a good speech.

I am a proud support of Hillary Clinton who will vote for McCain if Obama is the nominee.
I fail to see how Obama's victory in North Carolina has given him a firmer grip on becoming the nominee. Let's face it. North Carolina has a huge black population of which 92% support their favorite black candidate. Clinton was down by 25 points and closed the gap considerably.

After losing Pennsylvania, Obama himself said that he would win North Carolina and that Indiana would be the tie-breaker. Now the media has opined that Clinton didn't win Indiana by enough. That's ridiculous. She won a state that borders Illionois and their local channels are from Chicago. The fact that Clinton won Indiana was a miracle.

Now, the beating will start. West Virginia and Kentucky will vote heavily for Clinton. Perhaps as much as 70%. Too little too late you might say? Think again. FL and MI are still in the mix. Clinton will take this puppy to the convention if she has to in order to get FL and MI seated.

Last week I asked a question. Nobody seemed to answer it, so I'll ask it once again. Why didn't Obama remove his name from Florida's ballots? Afterall, he went out of his way to remove his name from MI ballots.
Did everybody see Hillary on The Factor. She was impressive. She is clearly the most qualified candidate, hands down.
I'm glad to see that Obama now realizes that Pastor Wright's comments give comfort to those that prey on hate. In my view, Obama's recent statements are a dime short and a day too late. Remember, Obama stated that Pastor Wright is like an Uncle to him. Wright has been Obama's spiritual advisor for the past 20 years. In fact, Obama asked him to join him at his presidential announcement and asked him to deliver a public invocation. However, just a few days prior to the event, Obama decided to disinvite him because he knew of Pastor Wright's controversial statements. Still, Pastor Wright prayed with Obama in the basement just before the event.

America is ready for a black president. However, it must be someone who is qualified, experienced, and who is representative of all Americans. Obama is not that man. Obama has distanced himself from Wright strictly for political reasons, otherwise, he would have done it two months ago.

If Obama gets the nomination, I will vote for McCain. I hope that my fellow Democrats will do the same.

Pastor Wright is Obama's inconvenient truth.
You can say all you want to say about the negative campaigning in Pennsylvania, but historically speaking, the campaigning was not negative in comparison to past years. Obama's real problem is with Pastor Jeremiah Wright. After what I've seen over the past couple of days in my view, there's no way that Obama can beat McCain in November.

To be sure, the Superdelegates know this to be true. The only question that remains is whether they have the courage to cast their votes for Clinton.

It seems to me that some of the Superdelegates would rather lose with Obama than win with Clinton. Now, that's screwed up...
All week we hear from the media about white voters not willing to vote for Obama because he is black. There is no critical analysis by the media of black voters voting for Obama because he is black or that black voters are unwilling to vote for Clinton because she is white. Give us a break!
Twelve states with 149 Electoral Votes are either a pure Toss-Up or just slightly leaning to one party or the other. These are likely to be the early battleground states of Election 2008: Florida (27), Pennsylvania (21), Ohio (20), Michigan (17), Virginia (13), Missouri (11), Wisconsin (10), Colorado (9), Iowa (7), Nevada (5), New Mexico (5), and New Hampshire (4).

Clinton won: Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, and New Hampshire. 99 electorial votes.

Obama won: Virginia, Missouri, Wisconsin, Colorado, and Iowa. 50 electorial votes.

Conventional wisdom suggests that the Democrats best chance of winning the White House is with Hillary Clinton.
I know this isn't what the Obama supporters want to hear but its the truth. It doesn't matter who wins Indiana. Indiana hasn't voted for a democrat since 1964.
If Florida's votes are not counted then Florida will become a "solid red state" year in and year out. That's 27 electorial votes. The Republicans already own Texas.

Can the Democrats with the White House without winning all four of these states: Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, Michigan.

The answer is clearly No.

Obama won caucuses in Red States. First of all, caucuses are undemocratic. They don't allow most voters to participate. What does it matter if Obama or Clinton wins in Indiana? Indiana hasn't voted for a Democrat since 1964. We need to get a grip. We need to count up the States that Clinton can deliver and count up the states that Obama can deliver. Whichever candidate can win the "swing states" should be our nominee.
So, after all these months nobody has explained to me why Obama didn't remove his name from the ballots in FL. Some have opined that Obama knew that he had no chance to win in MI so that's why he removed his name. What have you heard?
Caucus are undemocratic. By their very nature, they exclude countless voters who simply cannot be available to attend, especially the poor and elderly. How democratic is that? So, when votes were actually casted in FL, how can the DNC proclaim that they don't count. Counting the delegates is an entirely different argument. But, honestly, how can anyone say in their right mind day to the Floridians that did vote, including me, that our vote didn't happen. I am a proud support of Hillary Clinton.
When you see a black candidate win 92% of the black vote that tells you something. I would be more inclined to consider voting for Obama (should he be our nominee) if I weren't convinced that the only reason why he's where he is due to racism. The black community is not even considering Hillary Clinton despite the fact that Bill Clinton was considered to be America's first black president. If white voters thought the same way as black voters did, then Obama would have lost every primary. In other words, white voters have been open minded and have voted for Obama based upon his message. Black voters have been closed minded and have voted for Obama because of his race. How else could one explain that Hillary Clinton hasn't won more than 20% of the black vote in any primary. For once and for all, lets call it what it is and speak the truth.
