If Martin Luther King could be alive today,
He would be ashamed of Barack Obama...... I know it.
Obama blocking American votes? If there were even the slightest hint that Barack was going to do what he is doing to the votes from voters in Michigan and Florida, MLK would come down hard and fast on that. Civil Rights was, also, about the abuse in voting and the rights of all Americans to have a voice with their votes...... this was not isolated to just the black community.
Obama blocked the re-votes of Michigan and Florida and is now blocking the count of these very votes.
Rules of the game......
It is a fact..... don't blame the DNC at this point.
They cannot break the rules themselves because at the next opportunity states would be moving their primaries all over the place.
But, the DNC compromised by leaving the revote up to the Candidates.
Obama said, according to the Associated Press's Nedra Pickler. "I'll leave that up to you guys. If you want to count them for some abstract measure, you're free to do so."
So, they left the problem to the two Candidates for a re-vote.
There were volunteer donations to cover the cost of the re-vote. The DNC said yes, the States said yes, Hillary said yes... Obama didn't want to......... fact... fact...fact!
In public he said he will do whatever they want to do but ...... it is to his advantage...big time to just leave it were it is. Obama didn't say no........ he just drug his
feet until the time expired on the deal for the re-vote. King would not like this.
In Michigan....
The rule was not to campaign.. nothing about taking their name off.
When it became clear that a mistake had been made, or not. Why risk a loss if the votes do not count. Looks bad......... Just like the loss in WV...... didn't campaign so it doesn't look so bad.
(put the fire out, of the win, the next with an Edward's endorsement)
Anyway.......... not on the ballet. (remember no rule that said take the name off)
Massive, massive, massive media and radio blitz went out to tell voters...... if your vote is for Edwards or Obama vote undecided (never did they mention any others) Kucinich was also on the ballet.
Hillary Clinton got 53%
Undecided got 40%
Kucinich got 7%
The real votes for Clinton are real votes. People did not go to the polls and say I will vote for Hillary Clinton if they were unsure ... Why?
Because there was a place on the ballet that said "unsure"..... 40% did.
Florida??? Everyone had their name on the ballet. Why? Because in Florida, if you want your name on the GE ballet, it has to also be on the Primary ballet.
Proof ....... that names on ballets were optional...... not a rule.
Record numbers went to the polls. Hillary Clinton beat them all, Democrat and Republican.
She beat McCain 2-1 and the Democrats beat the Republicans in number 2-1.
Hillary got 51% and Obama got 33%
She can beat McCain in the GE.
******************That was his block to the re-vote.
His block to the count? **
*************************
He wants 50/50 of Fl... and all of the 40% of the undecided in MI. This gains a wash.... it is not fair to the voters of these two states. Why? Because it takes real votes....their voice....away from them given to others and transfers it to Obama. (others= Clinton and Edwards)
Again...... it is saying they have no value, no voice, no vote.
In an effort to be fair........ but fair to whom? King would not like this. The fairness is to the votes, the votes belong to them.
Part of that 40%, in Michigan, belongs to John Edwards, he has real value too!
Now, that Edwards has endorsed Obama his portion will need to be awarded at the convention.
OBAMA DOES NOT GET ALL 40% as pledged state delegates.
In Florida, there was a record turn out. Clinton beat them all, Democrats and Republicans in the number count. She beat McCain 2-1 and the Democrats beat the Republicans 2-1.
She got 54% and Obama got 33%. She can win the GE in Florida.
Obama wants 50/50 in Florida and all of the 40% in Michigan. That would make a wash.
Of course he does.

Hillary Clinton catches up with former Make-A-Wish winner Oregonian, still a big fan, now works for the former first lady's campaign

My fear, all along, has been throwing away 16 years for the opportunity of having the keys to the White House.
Obama is willing to throw away 16 for a shot of 4.
The number one guarantee for 16 is Clinton/Obama for 8 and Obama/vp for another 8.
Obama would only be 54 and his challenge of inexperience would not be an issue.
But Michelle will not allow it?
********************************************
Obama/ Clinton as VP shows a lack of vision, which seems to be the driving force of this campaign for the Obamas...... lack of vision.
1. The best case, Obama wins two terms. She would be 68 at the end of 8. Talk about a generation gap now.....for sure then.
2. They would win, no doubt, but, at the end of 4, they could lose to a well liked and respected Republican, one moderate and against the War...... e.g.., R-NB Chuck Hagel ... The White House would then be gone for another 8 years. Carter was a nice guy but could not hold the office for more than one term, 4 years and the then the White House was lost for 12 years to the Republicans.
Our new President is taking over very serious problems...... and the American people will demand results. There are just too many areas that will demand instant results. Even with some good results the sustainability is at high risk. Americans are cruel if they see failure.
3. Clinton's next opportunity to run would be at the age of 72..... like McCain. So you see it is not Obama "Now or Never"....it is for both Clinton and McCain.
4. As VP she would not have the opportunity to battle her passion for Universal Health Care, that is best done as a Senator..... better as a President.
5. If Obama does fail..... she would inherit all his failures. They would call it the Obama/Clinton years.
6. Without joint ticket..... Obama loses to McCain then Clinton can run again in 2012.
What is important for the country in the short and long term does not seem to be the issue and not the concern for many..... or maybe it is simply a lack of vision.
It is not Now or Never for Obama........ but it could be Never because of Now.
The Democrat Party, will never run the same one twice. He fails with McCain, we lose him for a President.
Unless, Hillary runs in 2012 and picks him as VP.
Then they would let him run in 2020.
We should take the 16 now.... Clinton/Obama 2008 Obama/VP 2016
To take second slot would be a big step for Obama, I am not sure his ego can do that.
She won't and can't be VP now..... she is needed in the Senate to continue her battle for Universal Health Care. Besides.. it will be a 4 year job.

Of the three Senators..... Hillary Clinton is the most Environmentally friendly.
That would speak volumes to Al Gore.
Both, McCain and Obama embrace nuclear energy expansion.
It takes 25,000 years for the radio active waste products to decompose to be safe.
What kind of container does that require? The whole state of Nevada?
Hillary Clinton is not in favor of nuclear energy expansion and she has voted "NO" 7 times on the energy bill for nuclear
expansion. Obama and McCain have voted "Yes".
The mother of invention is...necessity...need.. If we switch over to nuclear, without addressing the problems
of the waste materials, we will only be pushing our
problems of need....down the road gathering more
problems along the way. Clearly Hillary does not want to delay in addressing these problems. You know what?
We do not either.
She wants real Science and real Research brought back to our Universities to deal with problems such as this and to stay competitive in the world.
John Edwards......his passion for poverty and Universal Health Care is the real deal, as he is the real deal. He knows that his plan and his battle for UHC is alive and the battle continues with Clinton and not with Obama.
So, both, John Edwards and Al Gore hold back .... for now, I think these reasons may be part of it.
I also know they will support whoever is the Nominee.
I continue to hold my breath, hoping that Edwards will give his pledged delegates to Clinton based on UHC, along with other considerations needed to take back the White House in the General Election.
She is the right one.......
It is not now or never for Obama, it never has been.
Hillary Clinton ..2008 Barack Obama... 2016
We will need the keys to the White House for 16 years to clean up the mess that Bush is leaving us.
We can have it........ in this order.

Obama has campaigned in 57 states. Of course none of the Candidates campaigned in Michigan and Florida so we have 59 states. And, his staff would not justify as trip to Alaska and Hawaii ....... so we have 61 states.
He needs these extra states, it kind of makes up for the states he has ignored, besides MI and Fl.
He has ignored 4 states that requested a debate, Washington, Wisconsin, North Carolina and now Oregon.
The Governor of North Carolina sent a formal request to debate.
Not able to face Clinton, face to face, shows weakness, inability to stand pressure, inexperience and lacking a foundation for his policies ,
Hiding behind 21 debates does not meet the level of excuse needed.
There have only been 3 with just the two of them.
Obama said about NC: "If I debate in NC, the IN will want one too".
Well, yes..... and now Oregon wants a debate.... he has declined.
The race is over in June only if one steps down.
You do not quality for the highest job in our Country... Experience does matter.....Debate of please step down.
Bottom line ????? He is getting tired, wearing down and the bunny energizer keeps on and on and on

MOTHERS' DAY
In the hot and muggy month of August 1920, a national drama brought its final and perhaps most spectacular act to Nashville. A year before on June 4, 1919, the U.S. Congress had voted to append thirty-nine words to the Constitution. Simple, straightforward words, but for all their brevity, they packed a punch. Nearly everyone who read them, or even heard about them, felt provoked to take a stand. Those thirty-nine words comprised the Nineteenth Amendment which, if ratified by thirty-six states, would give women the right to vote.
By August 1920, when the issue was to come before the Tennessee State Legislature, the amendment was one state shy of ratification. Thirty-five states had passed it. Despite the mere sliver of a margin that blocked ratification, the Suffragists and their supporters knew victory was not inevitable. Indeed, the Anti-Suffragists had good reason to hope that if Tennessee failed to pass the Nineteenth Amendment, the "Perfect Thirty-Six" would never be realized and the law would die. What ensued was a "war of the roses," with its primary battle waged in Nashville during an oppressively hot August.
The town teemed with reporters from New York, Chicago, Washington, and Boston. Celebrities such as the national suffrage leader, Carrie Chapman Catt, traveled to Nashville to help spearhead the drive for ratification. She joined forces with one of the prominent Tennessee leaders, Anne Dallas Dudley, in organizing a strenuous female advocacy. Tennessee women from rural and urban backgrounds, different social classes, and different races worked together in writing letters, making speeches, and canvassing legislators. Despite their diversity, they were united under a single symbol: the yellow rose. Yellow roses, in fact, were in vogue in Nashville that summer. But so were red roses--the flower of choice for the Anti-Suffragists. Even the legislators "showed their colors" by wearing roses on their lapels.
Counting the number of red roses worn by the representatives, the Suffragists knew they were in trouble for the pending vote on August 18. By the roses, it appeared the amendment would be defeated 47 for and 49 against. In the first roll call, however, Rep. Banks Turner came over to the Suffragist's side and the vote was deadlocked at 48 for and 48 against. The second roll was taken and the vote remained 48 to 48.
With wilted collars and frayed nerves, the legislators squared off for the third roll call. A blatant red rose on his breast, Harry Burn--the youngest member of the legislature--suddenly broke the deadlock. Despite his red rose, he voted in favor of the bill and the house erupted into pandemonium. With his "yea," Burn had delivered universal suffrage to all American women. The outraged opponents to the bill began chasing Representative Burn around the room. In order to escape the angry mob, Burn climbed out one of the third-floor windows of the Capitol. Making his way along a ledge, he was able to save himself by hiding in the Capitol attic.
When tempers had cooled, Burn was asked to explain the red rose on his lapel and his "yellow-rose" vote. He responded that while it was true he was wearing a red rose, what people couldn't see was that his breast pocket contained a telegram from his mother in East Tennessee. She urged him to do the right thing and vote in favor of the amendment. Governor A. H. Roberts signed the bill on August 24, 1920 and two days later, the Nineteenth Amendment became national law. One hundred and forty-four years after the Declaration of Independence, American women had earned the constitutional right to vote--thanks in large part to a mother named Febb Ensminger Burn.

As I write this bear in mind I am very upset with my Democrat Party of 40 years.
I use to think I was a Democrat.
Our new identification is not Liberal, that nasty word, but Progressive.
But, through all of this in these primaries, I have found that I am not progressive.
Because the progressive Democrats don't like me.
They do not allow me a voice within their movement.
It is a movement and they have taken over the Democrat Party.
Truth is??? I guess it is not them... it is me.
I am not a Democrat.
I am not sure when that happened. Read More »

I had this in a comment post.... decided to post it as General.....
Here is the deal..... Heads Up....
Neither Obama nor Clinton will win the needed number of pledged delegates to win the Nomination.
Almost win..... does not count.
If you go to buy a car and it cost a certain amount of money and you almost have that amount... you can't drive off the lot with the car.
Obama.... cannot walk off the lot with the Nomination.
When the primaries are over, the pledged delegates will not count......
got that..... not count.... BUT THEY WILL MATTER.
Super Delegates pledged before the convention... will not count....... BUT THEY WILL MATTER.
SD can change their minds, as we have seen already, and they can switch again. The final vote will be at the convention.
To end this in June will require one to quit.
They as always, are stong arming Clinton to quit.
That is not new...... it has been going on from the start. Good luck with that.
Now they are saying the most important candidate is the one that does not win... this one will have the job of uniting the forces.
Guess who they think is better equipped to do that?
A strong team player, proven from long dedications of loyalty to the Party? Yup! Hillary Clinton.
She has already said she would campaign vigorously for Barack Obama.
(her word..Vigorously)
I hope the SD are not looking at that in their decisions..... I want her to be number one.
The Pot Of the Mix...... will include a range of important issues, including pledged state delegates, popular vote, polls, Electoral Votes, as well as baggage, Clinton's old, Obama's new.
And, the real Americans in Michigan and Florida will be counted as voted as part of that assessment. SD are not subject to the rules of the DNC as it relates to their assessments.
Those jumping ship now can swim back.... SD are not final until the Convention

If Edwards is the real deal and most of us think so, he will endorse Hillary Clinton.
Why?
Because UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE is also a passion of his and he knows Hilliary's plan is the only one that is the same as his.
A bit piece plan such as Obama's will lose ground and erode as time passed due to pressures beyond his control ........ drug cos. Insurance cos.and congress. Dem congress is liquid and the fact is, in 4-8-12 years anything can happen.
We may have to wait another 20 years to get it going. Mean while back at the ranch and homes of American Families....... medical cost are rising, jobs are being lost and along with medical Insurance.
Middle and lower income class families are losing their homes to pay for major medical events along with saving for college and retirement.
WE ARE A "0" SAVINGS NATION FOR A REASON.
We are trying to survive and for many it is paycheck to paycheck way of life.
Hello folks......... anyone looking at the big picture?

SHOCKING Obama words: Rev. Wright's influence on his beliefs
Obama is not electable, this is only a piece of his baggage.
It is racist.......
Barack just will not step down.
How dare he, come to the people of the United States and expect the people to support him with a resume and foundation lacking and want a leap of faith.
It shows immaturity and a lack of good judgment.
And, the supports are emotional, irrational, illogical and will follow him blindly.
He is a wonderful man, but not qualified....
He served as a State Senator and did not get one legislation through the first 6 yeas.
........ only in his last year...... Did you known that?

Obama, Emil Jones and Earmarks.......
As a US Senator, and chair of his subcommittee, his committee has never met, not even once.
Did you know that?
Do you know how important his committee is?
International..... Afghanistan, NATO relationships.
Have you been reading the papers...on what is going on in Afghanistan right now? Where is Obama's leadership?
He has life long and continued friends with questionable character. We, as Democrats, are too polite to go through his baggage. The Republican will not have the gentle attitude we have.
There is a new friend, one of just last week, Doris Tillaman in Chicago.
Tillman supports Obama and Obama supports Tillman.
Last week Obama endorsed Dorothy Tillman for re-election. Tillman was forced into a runoff after her opponents failed to agree on a single candidate to oppose her. Tillman was an early supporter of Obama's in his rise to prominence over the past decade. And Tillman is a disgrace.
Her favorite pastime is abusing banks and financial institutions that want to do business with the city of Chicago. A regular feature of council proceedings is Tillman flaying banks for "owning slaves" at some remote point in history over 150 years ago.
Tillman has been quoted as saying her goal is to "repair the damage of 400 years" of slavery. "America owes us," Tillman demands (Sun-Times march 26, 2007). And yes, Obama has endorsed this carnival-style extortionist for re-election.
Another hate America, get even friend.
Add her to his list of friends....
OBAMA LIED TO US.........this is all over the Chicago News papers...... NONE OF THIS RELATED TO CLINTON.
ALL, his choices in life.
This is all new stuff in Obama's baggage.
He is not electable in November and it is all the negative stuff in his life he created.
AGAIN.... HE CREATED.... HIS CHOICES..... HIS CLIMB TO POWER...
Even if he is an innocent from all these people.
The fact that he has long and continued relationships with them means they have power over him. Read More »

I do not know the finer details..... you might go to HillaryClinton.com and see if they are there.
I know there would be a cap on premiums and no one can be denied based on preexisting causes.
And rates cannot be increased because of it.
This is not a government paid plan but assistance when needed. ...... but there will be government standards and rules placed upon Insurance Co, Drug. Co.s etc..
Everyone would have a chance, if you don't like the plan you have, to join the coverage offered by the Congress to their members..... there are over 200 to pick from.
But the rule..... is....... everyone must have Health Insurance...... everyone can afford it and those that can not.... will be on a scale according to their needs. But, their QUALITY will not be less because they pay less.
Think about that......
Everyone....all of us....... no matter who we are...... when we walk through the door way of a medical office or hospital entry........ will get the same treatment...... same value...... .as everyone else.......
Hillary Clinton says we have a MORAL obligation to treat all Americans with equal Health Care.
WE LOSE THIS WITH HER......... Obama fans..... think of that when you say you will not vote for her. Think of all the poorer states ...... CA has 8 people a day dying because of illness not treated and most of them without Health Insurance ...... and CA is one of our more well off states.
***************************************************************************************
Health Care for all American, is just that.
We pay for the uninsured as it is with our premiums.
Which really is a back door Tax.....
The average American pays on average of $500-$1,000 dollars a year on this.
And the cost goes up with Insurance Co. narrowing the field of coverage, increasing deductibles, and Co-payments... Private plans are 30%.
Unions..... are now striking just to get decent Insurance coverage.
Many retired Americans are losing their Insurance.
when a company closes down.
We either look at the problems now or face another American bubble of disaster not that far down the road.
We need to jump in and get it started..... any rough edges can be smoothed out.
Meanwhile back at the ranch and homes of American Families.......
medical cost are rising, jobs are being lost and along with the jobs medical Insurance.

Remember Lee Iacocca, the man who rescued Chrysler Corporation from its death throes? He has a new book, and here are some excerpts.
Lee Iacocca Says:
"Am I the only guy in this country who's fed up with what's happening? Where the hell is our outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder. We've got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we've got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can't even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car.
But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, "Stay the course."
Stay the course? You've got to be kidding. This is America not the damned "Titanic". I'll give you a sound bite: "Throw all the bums out!"
You might think I'm getting senile, that I've gone off my rocker, and maybe I have. But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country anymore.
The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in handcuffs. While we're fiddling in Iraq, the Middle East is burning and nobody seems to know what to do. And the press is waving 'pom-poms' instead of asking hard questions. That's not the promise of the "America"
my parents and yours traveled across the ocean for.
I've had enough. How about you? Read More »

White side of race
White side of it........and a women of any color side of it.
How Black America got to America was wrong but because they got to America...... they are not living in DarFur.
My people came by choice they say? Well, my people were thrown on boats leaving Ireland not because
of choice but because the landowners could no longer feed them, the tenant workers.
Ships left to America, Canada and Australia. Many were so ill and malnourished they died before reaching shore.
They landed with no money, no jobs and they were subjected to discrimination with signs posted
"Irish no need to apply" where jobs were available. Read More »

I use to think I was a Democrat, 40 years.
All, progressive Democrats, MoveOn.org, Air-America, all the newsletters, you know the ones, came out early to strongly support Obama.
Is there anything wrong with that? Did it capture most of the Democrats?
Guess not.
Maybe it was the push, the drive, the passion that led to the trashing of Hillary Clinton.
It is one thing to support one, but, to destroy another? Read More »

I like to collect the reasons for "Quit Hillary" tonight on this Blog... the reason was to secure your power in the Senate.
It is not because our candidate is or will not win, it is the pre-program of the ones in the know that decided from the start who was electable and set out a course to win the White House based on their wisdom with their selection.
They went about grooming the one they wanted to win. Media jumped in and everyone was off and running.
Obama was probably pushed to run, he said his first year in the Senate he was not ready.
This is your time, alright...... Hillary will be easy to win over.
We just can't let it be Hillary....
she is the most negative, has the most baggage, is the most disliked, the one men will not vote for (Bitch factor) and Republicans will not cross over to vote for her,
and she is from the old school.(the one with peace and prosperity)
Have I missed something?
Well, they are wrong. On all of it.
In their wildest dreams did they ever think she would do as well as she has. And, getting stronger.
Now what...... DNC..... trapped.....
Well, it just has to play out. We have already ignored two states, good work DNC. Don't blame the loss of those two states in the General on Hillary. So, end this early and ignore more?
We still have our last 5 states. With each state we are picking up new Dem. voters and we are giving honor to states that have never had a voice in the selection.
This is a good thing...... frustrating, but good.
Ye we hear all the time from those that want to close it down..... Quit Hillary gracefully.
Quit Hillary, you can't win, quit Hillary, educated people will not vote for you, quit Hillary your splitting the party, quit Hillary it is getting too negative, quit Hillary McCain can beat you, quit Hillary nobody likes you ....
quit Hillary you can't make up the delegate gap.
quit Hillary the DNC has concerns.
quit Hillary not because you weak but because you are strong
quit Hillary so we can end it now and ignore more states that need to vote.
Well, don't quit Hillary...... you toughness is being noticed....... and well received.
That is what it takes to be Presiden

With every state we gather new voters. We also provide these states an opportunity to be part of this Democratic process. They feel they are important and their voice, vote matters.
You do see this don't you?
One of the things I dislike the most about Obama fans it their lack of vision. This is one, actually two,
more voters and giving honor to the states.
The other most important blindness is that they do not see we have an opportunity of taking control of the White House for 16 years.
Obama is a young man... it is not now or never.
In fact, 8 years from now he will have life's opportunity to gain the foundation he lacks now.
But, you don't see that do you?
All so emotional....... you will get what you buy on this.
What kind of history are we going to make if, one he can't be McCain and two if he can only hold the office for one term? After 8 years with a polished resume, it would be a slam dunk.
I personally do not think he can beat McCain, it may be hard for Hillary too, but polls show she is better.
Lets say he goes all the way.
Carter is a nice guy too but held for one term, and we lost the White House for 12 years to the Republicans.
What if in 4 they run a real likable Republican that is also against the War in Iraq?
Like R-NB Chuck Hagel? There goes 8 to Republicans.
The Obama base is emotional, irrational, illogical and they are as blind as a bat.
God love us........

When Obama called the American Ambassador to the United States, Michael Wilson, and told him that he would be asked questions about NAFTA at the Ohio Debate.
He said.. to this effect... "Don't worry it is just Campaign rhetoric" Obama was telling Ohio a different story about NAFTA and said the same at the debate.
To make a long story even longer.... sorry.
But isn't that or doesn't that sound a little bit the same as what Rev. Wright said? Obama told him about how he was going to address there relationship and explain it to the public? Rev. Wright said almost exact words...... Political rhetoric.... things you have to say....
You, kind of, have to feel sorry for Rev. Wright, he has spent a life time waiting for this moment in time to see a dream come true.......Obama, his friend, and they were good friends,to see Obama run for the highest office in the land..... President of the United States. I think Rev. Wright had visions of sharing this adventure and journey with Obama.
Now, after all these years of passion, and the door is finally open..... he has found himself on the other side of the door and put there by his own friend Obama.
Think about how hurtful this must be.
Obama has a Public Voice and one that is not so public.
On the re-vote in Michigan and Florida, the DNC left it up to the two candidates.
His public voice said I will do whatever you want to do.
But, his not so public voice was a different story.
Re-vote, Hillary said yes, the states said yes, the DNC said yes and volunteers came forward with funds to pay for it..... Obama didn't say no..... he just drug his feet until the time expired.
The Number #1 priority was not seating these Americans of two of our states but protecting his advantage.
Now, the counting....... he wants 50/50 or as close to that as possible to result in a wash.
Counted as voted..... puts Clinton 36 Delegates behind Obama and ahead in the popular votes.
The two voices of Obama....... but they are just words.

We now have another friend to add to Obama's list of cozy buddies.
Have you heard of Dorothy Tillman?

Dorothy Tillman supports Obama and Obama supports Dorothy Tillman.
