My thoughts on the candidates, the Party as a whole....

I would like to congratulate President Elect Obama and Vice President Elect Biden for winning the general election. Also my condolence to him and his family on the loss of his grandmother.

While he might not be my candidate of choice and I still have large reservations about Obama/Biden, I did vote for them (especially after Chaney backed McCain). Now I hope he does some of what he says he will do (no president can solve all problems), and I do hope he remembers that Hillary did campaign hard for him. While he might be the new President and I will in general support him, my heart is now and forever Hillary/Bill, for I remember all they had done for my communities.

I am now and forever a true support of the Honorable Senator Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton and President William "Bill" Jefferson Clinton.

I'm not sure I agree 100%, but it's a general idea.

While I may not like Obama's attitude and behavior much, this guy on youtube speaks very well about the whole situation between the Hillary and Obama supporters. I recommend listening to whole video before commenting.

And by the way he's very cute too.....
I'm confused about Obama's VP choice. Joe Biden is a man who's been in the Senate for 36 years and it definitely part of the old man thinking of politics, so why would Obama pick him if he is the agent of change? I would think Obama would pick someone who knows about the political machine, but is relatively new to the scene of the Senate but not as new as him.

Joe Biden has on more then one occasion come across as a racist and a sexist (My mom wanted to choke the man over the TV, for his behavior to the Latino community and women over the years) or maybe it's his plain speak manner that makes him come across as that and his words get misinterpreted.

Can someone explain why Obama would pick a person who would make others think twice about voting for him? I mean I am no big supporter of Obama, but was leaning to voting for him, now I have to think twice. In the Latino media Joe Biden has been quoted over the years as making statements about Latinos that do not come across as well let's just say proper and from my understanding he says absolutely nothing about GLBT rights. Maybe that's good cause they say if you have nothing positive to say you shouldn't say anything.
Lord I may not be fond of Obama, and definitely think Michelle, needs to check herself, but she already wrecked herself, but come on, all this Obama bashing is sickening. For the Love of GOD, Obama is not the Anti-Christ and he is not weak because he gaved the Clintons respoect.

If anything I respect him a little more because he knows that the Clintons have allot of followers that feel they were disrespected and he wants them to feel at ease and understand that he needs to show compassion for the purpose of party unity. He is not wrong, he's done what he feels is necessary, and on top of that he is sharing his spot light not hogging it. It's his way of saying to stand together we have to share it all together, good and bad.

So for once I wish the CNN/MSNBC/FOX,etc would shut up and give the Clinton's and the Obama's breathing room, to do what needs to get done.
For the first time since I have been on this forum I can truly say thank you to the Obama supporters. I was afraid to even bother coming on, because I figured it was going to be a repeat performance, because of what Penn said, she would be attack on this site, and to my surprise she was not.

I was really impressed, I mean I know that on the CNN and MSNBC blogs they were ripping into her, but allot of that is also caused by people who want to keep the fight in the democratic party alive, because if we stop and talk then potential there is the ability to attempt to resolve our difference, so rarely do I pay those site any mind.

Once again thank you to the Obama supporters for not reading to much into what Penn stated, after all he's still upset that the Clintons moved on and didn't put up a fight after Obama became the party nominee. Bill and Hillary may not be happy, but they are moving forward with their lives and work and have endorsed Obama. Penn is bitter, old and really needs to by a new wig, that one is just so revealling for my taste. So now that he figures he can't beat Obama with the Clintons, he'll simply trash their name as well.

What I took out of this story is that I respect the Honorable Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton for not taking his suggestion, and at a cost to her maintained her integrity. The 3 am bit is one thing, but to say Obama does not have American values because of his upbringing is simply wrong, and I am proud of her for holding to her instincts and saying no to those ads.
I would like to thank you for all you have done, for your eternal vigilance, and you eternal love for this nation and her people. You and your husband are eternal in my mind for all you have done, for all you have reach and always turning around and reach for the rest of us to pull us up with you. Regardless of what happens you are my candidate and you will always represent the best of this nation.

Even when the obamanation and michelle sought to tear you down you responded as a woman of your statue with grace, dignity, and elegance. You are truly a hybrid of Jackie O, Eleanor Roosevelt, The Queen of England and The Queen of Hearts.

I think both Obama and Michelle realize that you and Bill are still a primal force to be reconned with and your supporters regardless who we vote for will not abandon you or Bill simply because they wish us to do so. While this nominee was stolen from you, and your suppose members of your party did not stand by you when you was told "stay in the kitchen" and so on, we stood by you and Bill, and till this day we stand by you and with you and tomorrow we will do the same.

Now while I personal do no like the man because of his behavior to my two communities and to you and while I can not stand his wife for her nastiness, I did hear your words and I will consider voting for him and convincing my friends and family to do the same.

To borrow a word from Disney Onastra - Onwards, Forwards and Upwards. Obama may win the presidency but he will never take our support away from you and Bill.
Reality is I believe that Obama has been disrespectful to the Clintons and they and their supporters have a right to be angry and deserve an apology. Obama has attemtped to dismiss them, the 8 years Bill Clinton servers as president (which revitalized this country) and the achievements of Hillary.

Not for nothing Obama has been around for a minute, his poor record speaks for itself (150 votes present in two years, etc, etc, etc) and then he has the nerve to think he can dismiss Hillary. Like it or not, Hillary did what was asked of her by the state she represented. As a survivor of 911 I wanted to war, plain truth, I was angry so many of my friends died, and I wanted revenge, plain and simple, and she voted as was asked of her. Now the war has not gone well and we asked her to end the war and she said she would. You can all say I never wanted it, but I was there when so many of us screammed for it.

Also the DNP behavior was right down dispresectful and dismissive of the Clintons and that's wrong. Pelosi, Dean, Brazile can all kiss my gritts. How dare they behave in the way they did.

Now that I vented. Obama is many times seen as cold, he's been dismissive of the GLBT community and thinks of many minorities as an afterthought, or I should say it is how he's perceived. It's why so many are on the fence with him. He might be a great public speaker (one of the best I have ever heard), but he has no substance, sorry my opinion.

He needs to stop playing the Rock Star to the kids who are in college, who do not take the time to understand what's happened and be a real catalyst for change and not just words.

I challenge Obama to prove to us all that his words are true, and those who think he does not need the Clintons, you can scream change all you want, but if you don't have the right people to help you with congress and senate you are nothing. Even with a republican senate and congress Bill accomplished allot for the great USA.

Just my thoughts and opinion, here are two great articles

Girl where are you we need to see you again, forget the primaries and talk to us about what's going on....

Your definitely a friend in my head. How you doing?
1. His distance from addressing issues about him. If he is to be president, why is it he does not address things that are considered rumors to clear the air? ie Being Muslim, how he diverts the conversation and says those are old politics makes me ask what are you hiding? What are you not telling us?

2. His distance also has kept me away as a gay man. I attended two gay events for Obama and in both instances he would not approach the members of the gay community unless they were donating money and even then it was a quick shake and gone. What do you think Obama we going to make you gay by standing next to us? Though if you donate a large sum of money he's right there.

3. His Elitist ways, well more so his followers. How they behave and have to belittle everyone else who is not an Obama Nation member, this gets old and annoying fast. Also how it seems that other communities only matter when it comes down to a vote, other then that he forgets us.

4. One major factor is his wife. Her behavior toward Hillary and this country is just wrong.

You might disagree, but these are my opinions. You can discuss them with me to better understand my prespective and hopefully open my eyes, but if you list an Obama style comment that we have become use to seeing on this board from his endearing fans, you will be ignored.
Hillary I would like to Thank You for everything you and Bill have done for this country. I would like to Thank You for the time you and Bill simply stopped in Washington Heights and shock our hands while the Secret Service was in a tail spin trying to protect you guys. I want to Thank You for the opportunity you have given me, my mother, my family, my friends and the great people of the USA. I would like to Thank You for marching in our parades waving our flags showing us you care. Thank You for remembering the Queen of Hearts. Thank You for voicing our voice when we wanted war after being hurt so badly during 9/11 (I won't be one of those people who screamed war and now says no she voted for the war) and Thank You for fighting to bring our troops. Thank You for all the little things you do that we might not be aware of and all the big things that are too numerous to write down.

Thank You for standing up for us and when everyone tried to bring you down, Thank you for rising and not giving up because you did it for us. Let our strength be your shield and sword against the hatered, let our hearts be your light and guide you in the darkness, and let our courage carry you forward and onward.
As I was reading the CNN posting about Hillary's debt, so many Obama people do not want to help Hillary, yet they want us supporters of Hillary to support and help Obama.

This confuses me, because they keep saying you donate to Hillary, well do they know that some of us have donated to Hillary. They say she miss managed her campaign by staying in the race so long, do they realize the same could have happened to Obama? Do the Obama people even fanthom that Obama only won by 120 points (not including the Super Delegates and that's based on how the DNC sat Florida and Michigan)? Do they understand that the DNC (Dean, Pelosi, Brazile) all played roles on how things played out?

I'm not sure why they hate Hillary and the Hillary supporters so much. If we are suppose to be one party, do they even realize that by behaving the way they do it continues to alienate the Hillary supporters?

How do we traverse this and try to unify the party? I don't know but if these attack continue I am 100% sure I won't support or help Obama. At a time where Obama's campaign preaches love, cooperations, unification, understanding, his members preach hate.

They even attack Bill, who did many things for this nation and I am proud to have had him as a president. Regardless of what you think, we have to be greatful that he issued in an economic boom at a time when all looked bleak.

I have been a voting Democrat since 1990, and I have been a Democrat in my heart before 1990, but this is the first election that I feel will destroy this party. Many are starting to lean to the independent party and many of us are dishearted about the party after how the DNC treated Hillary and how the Obama people have behaved after the primaries were over. Now I also do know that some of the fault comes to the Hillary supporters. But if Obama is trying to preach unity, understanding, cooperation, etc, shouldn't his supporters do the same?

I am a proud supporter of the Honorable Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Now that I got your attention, what I am publishing is in no regards a reflection of Obama, Obama has not endorsed the people that published the statement. It is simply to view the external perspective of Obama.

The FARC Terrorists were hoping and expecting that Barack Obama would win the US elections in November because he was most aligned with the Colombian Marxist group.
This document was posted at Martha Colmenares (in Spanish) and Free Republic:

6. The gringos will ask for an appointment with the minister to solicit him to communicate to us his interest in discussing these topics. They say that the new president of their country will be Obama and that they are interested in your compatriots. Obama will not support "Plan Colombia" nor will he sign the TLC (Colombian Free Trade agreement). Here we responded that we are interested in relations with all governments in equality of conditions and that in the case of the US it is required a public pronouncement expressing their interest in talking with the FARC given their eternal war against us.
Where do we stand as a community? We (Latinos) are a wildly different bunch, that has a much in common as we have differences and as many would like to divide us we some how manage to stand together. it's what makes me proud to be a Latino.

I would like to know where other latinos on this forum stand. Are they disappointed that Hillary did not win? Will they support Obama? Will they vote McCain? or will the write Hillary? or did they support Obama from the beginning?

I am a Hillary supporter and must say Obama has not impress me. Right now I am writing Hillary, that does not mean I won't change my mind either for Obama or McCain. I am simply waiting to see how it plays out.
1. The way they disrespect the Clintons and her supporters, now they trying to play nice. 2. The way that everyone assumes because I am a democrat I need to fall in-line with what the party wants, reality check NO. 3. The way everyone talks about Hillary's negatives but there is no mention of Obama's. Just to mention a few, his dismissal of the Latino community, his distance of the GLBT community, his sweetie comments, his attacks on her (which everyone forgets, but remember hers on him). You want more do your homework. 4. The Party members I no longer trust... Barrack Obama - Just look at his comments. Michelle Obama - This woman is just not someone I want to know, her words, her attitude, just someone who needs to go away. John Edwards - For being such a Hypocrite, he blew the whistle on Obama, 150 present vote and then sides with him. Nancy Pelosi - She needs to disappear, go away, her comments, her behavior, just nasty. Howard Dean - Another one who should not talk, go away. Ted Kennedy - Some of his earlier comments, just right down disrespectful to the Clintons (I wish him a speedy recovery - I can still do that) Donna Brazile - Her comments this is the new Democratic Party made up of African Americans and eggheads, I know she didn't mean it that way, but she left a sour taste in my mouth. Her I will forgive in time, she's a good person and simply misspoke. Robert Martin - Just as bad as White, he was constantly attacking, trying to tear down, and blaming the Clintons for everything wrong in America. Jammel Simmons - I expected more out of him, as a young American, who I have always seen in a positive light, in this he followed Robert Martin's lead.
Ok I would like everyone to consider this... I know allot of people think that Hillary would be the wrong choice for Obama as VP and others think she would be a good option. But what happens if he can work with her and make her believe his dream? Do you not believe she would fight hard for him? Maybe Obama can inspire the Clintons to help him and that would be the true measure of his greatness. To be able to work with two powerful and great people as the Clintons and they all can create a synergy that can light the path for all, Obama, Hillary, and Bill supporters. Wouldn't that be change? If he can truly see beyond what is going on, the infighting, and work with the Clintons and with Hillary as his VP to create a movement that will create change, will provide hope to all the Obama and Hillary supporters and the non-supporters wouldn't that truly be Change and Hope?
Look Hillary could not simply take the stage and say it's over. Like she said she needs to make sure her followers are respected. This is not Edwards or Richardson who had a few followers, but 18 Million people. What will happen in the coming days, she will meet with the Party Leaders, and with Obama to ensure that we her followers are heard and seen. This will let us know that she cares and so does he and that he is willing to reach out to her supporters. She will then endorse and throw her full weight into ensuring there is a democrat in the White House. Funny though how CNN played Hillary and Obama in full and cut McCain. Congratulation to Obama and his win, thank you for praising Hillary, and in the coming days we will see how you lead the party. You are a great public speaker.
While I agree with many of you that I am an avid supporter of the Clintons and all the good they have done for this nation. I will ask all please if Hillary wishes to stop her run for the party nominee, please let her do it. Do not make waves, do not scream, yell, and do not attack the Obama party, we must take our lead from her, and allow them to win with no bitterness. While I am sadden to see her stop, I respect her decision and honor her wishes. We must face the facts, this has not been the best primary, many in the Clinton camp will question the Democratic leadership in the days to come and make decisions if we should continue as part of this party or move on, after the way the Clintons were treated. Though I will say that the Party is now trying to make amends by giving her space, not attacking her and letting her make her own decisions. Though I will say you can not slap a person (in this case her and her supporters) and not expect bitterness. Many in the Obama camp forgot how the Clintons and Gores issued an economic boom in the 90s, stood by Latinos, Blacks, Asians, GLBT and worked to lower racial tensions. They act as if the Clintons has done some great injustice to them and this country. I will ask the Obama supporters to look back, if you can remember the 90s, do we not owe the Clintons some level of respect for what they did for this nation? (No answer is needed). There are many in the Obama camp who I respected, but through this process because of the way they have treated the Clintons and their supporters, have lost my respect, Pelosi, Dean, Brazile, Simmons just to mention a few. All I can say to the Clintons supporters, please sit back let her speak, think about what she says and when the time is right we will act. Whether that actions means write in Hillary, vote for Obama, not vote, or vote McCain.
Did anyone see CNN when they mentioned that Obama's church attacked Hillary, saying things like she expected to win because she's white and this is hers.' Obama denounced the sermon and the pastor apologies, but why would they do this so late in the game. Obama's church comes across as more and more I don't know bigots. So why didn't this get more airplay?
