I read up on the Progressive era(google it), and Theodore Roosevelt and the progressive movement, and American progressivism. The social Gospel. Such a history of our country needs to be broadly known in Obama's movement for change and progress and by the Democratic party members. There are parellels in every regard. American Progressivism is the change we need right now. This knowledge crucial to fit into historical context what the Obama campaign is doing. I'd like this to come to the attention of Sen. Obama and Sen. Clinton and Sen. Joe Biden and everyone in the Dmoecratic party and every American due to its importance in the fabric and history of American society. American Progrseeivism is what has worked for our country and changed our country for the better in the past. It is what Barack Obama is calling for now, and has pledged to do as President. He understands the need for American Progressivism. His policies and world-view IS American progressivism.
America needs to know he follows in a great tradition!!!

Three senators are running for president. Each of them are leaders in their own ways. After this year's election, one of them will go on to lead from the executive branch, and the other two will go back to their jobs in the Senate and lead in the legislative branch. None of them is really the worse off, and each in their own way will still have lots of work to do on behalf of the American people.
I believe, however, that America needs a democrat in the White House at this time in its history, precisely because of the history of the Democratic Party during its best days.

Arguing for and against the cheer and essence of the "Yes We Can" Campaign
It seems from watching the political pundits on the TV, that Hillary's only chance to win is to make an argument that Barack Obama can't become president when he, his family, and all of his supporters believe that "Yes He Can." Obama's "Yes We Can" campaign and movement speaks to the real possibility of people realizing their dreams. Obama's dream is to be president of the United States. Everyday he and his supporters say to themselves "Yes We Can." Hillary for her part tries to those are just words. It's no wonder she would say that to try to stop the flow of positive energy and enthusiasm the Obama campaign has been generating throughout the country with every cheer of "Yes We Can."
Everyday the Obama campaign continues is another day of raising spirits based on the campaign's "Can Do" attitude. They have raised millions of dollars from people who all believe that "Yes We Can." Call it momentum, I'm not sure the word for it. It has alot to do with the way Obama awakens the American spirit in people. That is genuine and needed in a leader.
Hillary lags behind in that particular type of leadership experience. No matter what her campaign says, his supporters and he himself will be giving all of their energy into making the words "Yes We Can" a reality.
Keep on cheering, chanting, singing, and believing!!!

Look at people's shopping habits and try to say that American's are divided racially. All Americans love Morgan Freeman. They love hip-hop or at least old school Soul like Aretha Franklin. Boomers grew up on Rock and Roll. Talk about the Platters, or The Coasters. Talk about Bo Diddley or Little Richard.
Talk about Michael Jordan, Shaq, Tiger Woods. Talk about football. Talk about the fact that all races go to the same movies at the movie theaters and buy the same music in the stores and online.
Americans are taught that America is quintessentially a melting pot. We celebrate world cultures all the time. There are music festivals in every major city. Americans eat food from every corner of the globe. Chinese and Mexican.
Let's keep the truth alive and flourishing about our nation of immigrants. We are a diverse nation united in our diversity.
White people respect and love black people and black culture. Look at the music charts. African Americans contribute enormously to American culture and white people love African-Americans. We live and work together.
Trying to divide the American people is wrong. But if that is what some are out to do, then keeping ourselves united is something we have to do with even more energy and determination.
Americans naturally are a people who live with diversity everyday. Its in our music and culture, it's a fact of American life.
People the world over love our culture and our people even while they are critical our our government and slick politicians.
God Bless America and all of her people and God Bless Planet Earth,

From now on this campaign has to be a team effort. Every person with the least amount of ability to talk to voters and attest to Obama's credentials and his vision has to speak out now. Rent Caroline Kennedy an apartment in Indiana if you have to.
The movement has to be seen as people. They made personal choices to support Obama, including myself. Politics is personal. It's about people's lives and their families and their personal beliefs and personal hopes and dreams.
Together we win!! also, Being a democrat might not be a lifestyle, though it is for some. But Democrats have to show how what they believe in is quintessentially American. Because democrats have been and will continue to be quintessentially American.

Hillary Clinton is no saint, Carville compares her with Jesus Christ
James Carville puts down Bill Richardson by calling him Judas. Hillary Clinton is not Jesus Christ. Ask any Christian and any sane person.
Is this the behavior of good christians? Or of any ethical person, in general? Have some decency and some pride.
Bill Richardson has more character than Hillary and Carville combined.

Is there anything else a president needs to have in their resume? Should not be a cowboy diplomat?
Clinton: Obama can be VP, crosses "threshold", voters agree!!!
By admitting Obama is ready to be VP, Clinton agrues that he has passed the "experience threshold" that supposedly a candidate needs. Sounds like a poll tax or a glass ceiling she has set up herself. "Have you passed the threshold? See this threshold. I've passed it, you haven't. "
Obama is in first place. Voters have voiced their opnions that he has what it takes, call it whatever you like, to be president.

Without language, society would grind to a halt. We all use language to get things done. Nothing's impossible, I believe, but it takes talk and discussion to get things done. Everyone in their own jobs uses words and communication. Being a good communicator is probably praised.
Words are important in my line of work. Are they important in yours? Or have you transcended words? I don't think any of us have.
So why are we criticizing someone who is a good communicator?

Continue planting seeds of Hope, don't fight, build roads and bridges, bring light to darkness, keep hope alive.
Keep the movement growing. Campaign for the movement of change. Campaign for Democratic and American ideals. Don't fight. Plant seeds of hope.
Barack can change America in a way McCain will not and in a way Hillary Clinton will not. Is it because of his character, because of his real-world experience, because of his political experience, because of his own values?
Let's remember also the nature of Obama's campaign. It has been grassroots. It has raised records amounts of money from average Americans. I think the organization put in place will be there to help win the general election. Just continue the movement for change and the campaigning for that change and I think things will turn out fine. The American people are going to need a positive movement of ideas and solutions to problems that face us. The national campaign will be both parties trying to make the American people feel good about themselves. But what Barack has always been about is bringing people together to get things done. He is also well-educated, has taught in the classroom, is an excellent communicator and motivator. And he looks at issues clearly and thinks of the consequences of foreign policy before making any decisions. He is also outspoken for the best interests of America. I think that all of that taken together is the kind of experience that is needed. Its also about character, which will be a big factor when people decide who to vote for. Barack has had plenty of real-world experience, and he has the intelligence and character that is needed in a president.
Keep getting that message out. Keep the movement about ordinary people doing extraordinary things for themselves and others. And whatever happens in the coming months with regards to the nomination, America will be better off.

As an armchair general, I would say, don't change the overall campaign strategy now. The winter was inspiring and exciting. Keep working with the strategy. In individual states, use tactics as you see fit. But the overall strategy has been gaining momentum over the winter. It's not broken, don't fix it. Washington is broken. Add to it and evolve it, change some tactics here and there, adapt! Don't forget or neglect the core values that you have and of your supporters.
Keep up the winning strategy that won 11 in a row. Add to it. But don't change the nature of the campaign. People to people. bottoms up. Keep hope alive and the homefires burning.
We believe in you because of what you've done! You've made a huge difference in many people's lives. Keep doing what you do so well.

The campaigning over the winter has been really exciting to see. If this spring's campaigning is the same, I think the democratic party and America will only gain from it. Yes, there will be ugliness and negativity and everything you'd expect from a fight and arguing and disagreeing with others.
But we've all seen this before. This is not the first campaign for either democratic nominees. It's great that Barack Obama's message is in the national spotlight. Truth be told, whoever becomes president, they will make alot of speeches, have alot of press conferences, they will negotiate and talk alot with foreign emissaries and heads of state. Talking is important in the job. Especially when it will comes to transforming our relationships around the world and our image as seen by others.
I don't think the arguing and disagreement will tear the party apart. Political parties exist to facilitate discussion and debate. If the campaigns are as exciting as they have been throughout the winter, it's going to be ann exciting spring.
Let us never debate and disagree out of fear, but let us never fear to debate and disagree. This is the essence of democracy. All of the candidates have campaigned before for public office. Lets remember that we have great candidates and that we are a great people.

I'm not writing to argue the merits of any candidate. Moving forward, there will be calls to stay positive and have a spirited debate. In actuality, anyway you slice it, the political discussion is going to be about past, present, and future policy positions and votes. It will be about hypotheticals and possibilities.
This election is, after all, a job interview. By and For the American People.
The American people will choose the direction of this country as they choose the next President of the United States, the next Commander-in-Chief, the next head of the Executive Branch of our American system of government.
We are not holding elections just for this or that candidate. We are holding these elections for each and every American, for each and every candidate, for young and old, for Americans here and abroad.
We will never forget we are Americans. If we are the greatest nation on the face of the Earth, we should no doubt behave accordingly.
One for all and all for one!

Every generation faces hardships, every generation realizes they are somebody, and every generation overcomes!
I realized something tonight while sitting at dinner with family and friends. I'm part of Generation X. I wasn't given a choice, simply a reason. We had nothing to believe in. Yet in my life, I have found lots of things to believe in. Many of the same things the Greatest generation believed in, and the post-war generation believed in, and the generation Y and the newest generations, too.
I also got to thinking, maybe people say that people do nothing because it is the answer at hand, the one and only answer out there, without thinking of another way, different ways, they just say what comes to mind, what has been said before as the answer to a problem, or the truth of the matter, the way things are.
I believe America needs Barack Obama now and in the future. America needs Barack in it's, her's, and our public life.
He inspires the best in me. With all of us being inspired in the same and so many ways, there is alot for America to look forward to in the days, months, and years ahead.

I think we all need to take a deep breath and hope some of it goes up to our brains.
How many IQ points does all of this arguing take?
Democrats collectively were attacked for supporting a Woodstock museum, and look at how we are treating each other.
Unbelievable.
And this party is supposed to get things done and help our fellow citizens?????

As Democrats, we need to be the truth squad to the RNC and Republicans talking points against our candidates saying that:
1. any withdrawal or phasing withdrawal or redeployment is going to let Al-Qaeda take control of Iraq and have a safe haven and will declare victory.
Democratic candidates really have to counter such charges.
Iraqi security forces and the Iraqi army and police are already taking the fight to Al-Qaeda and securing their own country. Bush and all say they're working to make an Iraq that can govern, sustain, and defend itself.
So, it's really about the Iraqi's themselves vs. Al-Qaeda. They're being trained by the finest military in the world. Let's do the math. "We'll stand up as they stand down" said the President repeatedly. So Iraq will have, and has, their own military forces to fight Al-qaeda and keep Iraq safe. Most countries I know have their own police and army to defend against criminal elements like Al-Qaeda.
As has been reported in the news. Al-Qaeda makes up a small percentage of violence. in other words, it is not the biggest or even second biggest threat to Iraqi people and their security. Let's tell the truth, Al-Qaeda has been weakened, and it has no chance of winning in Iraq. Period. Not as long as we don't set timetable. It has to do with the fact that the Iraqi's can defend themselves and will defend themselves.
Democrats really have to elaborate their feelings about why they feel the Iraqi's will be OK, and why Iraq will be OK if some of our troops were withdrawn from Iraq.
Democrats need to stand with our troops, but also stand with the world, and with the Iraqi's and all of our friends and allies around the world.

Let's talk about elections. Lots and lots of countries have them. America is having one this November. The election itself will be alot like every election that takes place every four years. And yet it will also be different. In years past, whole genders and races of people were denied the right to vote and the ability to participate in this countries' public life. While many of those grievances have been redressed, our elections are still in need of perfecting.
As we all know, we of voting age, by our cynicism, by our jadedness, by our tiredness, by our frustration and tears and heartache, our government of, by, and for the people is flawed, inefficient, being used for the benefit of small groups of individuals instead of for the common good. Our government is still in need of perfecting.
In an age in which we are less civil to one another, as American's, where we will lie, cheat, and steal from our fellow human beings, where for some it is of no value how we treat ourselves or one another, or where it is of too little value, it is no surprise to see everything we are seeing in this year's election campaigning.
Some say we are a Judeo-Christian nation. Others say we are a melting pot. It is said we are a nation of immigrants, of immigrants from every nation on earth. We pride ourselves on our freedoms to worship or not worship in whichever way we see fit. We pride ourselves in our prosperity. We are proud of our American culture. An America in which we partake of Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Cuban, Indian, Middle Eastern, African, Greek, Italian, Spanish, Vietnamese, Thai, Brazilian, and many other kinds of food from as many restaurants and kitchen tables. We watch reality TV shows set in locations all around the world. We travel the globe ourselves. We take vacations to faraway places and we come back with fond memories, photographs, souvenirs, and stories. Some of us work overseas, including many of our service men and women. We are active, proud members of the world community. The same world community from which we all trace our family heritages. The same world community we will be a part of for the rest of the life of our planet.
Sometimes politicians talk about character, other times about destiny, other times about experience, and still other times about the common good.
Solutions to our nation's problems and the world's problems are thought about, created, written about, faxed, emailed, published, broadcasted, put into action, implemented every day by Americans from every walk of life, every religion, every race, creed, and gender.
Let's remember this during this year's campaigning and elections. Let's remember that people of every race, religion, and creed from around the world, within the world community, have been and will be paying attention to all the campaigns of all the candidates campaigning for the office of President of the United States of America.
We rely on our neighbors and our fellow citizens and fellow citizens of the world for the goods and services we need and for the encouragement and the hope and the sustenance they give us in our times of need.
Let us celebrate our democracy as the Iraqis celebrated theirs in their recent elections of the past couple of years.
For better or for worse, we all are and will continue to be Americans.
Let us not forget this as we consider the candidates applying for the job of president of these United States. Let us begin this year proud of who we are and end this year proud of who we are, and throughout the year let us remember and work for what is in the common good for the world as well as America.
