Independent and I Vote
Ok. Here I am. It's 10:00 Wednesday evening and I just went to the Democratic Part page for the first time in my life. Me: White, middle aged, making above the avg salary, independent politically. I should be a staunch Republican shouldn't I? That was only a rhetorical question by the way.
I can only count maybe one time that I have voted for a Democrat in the past 30 years I have been eligible to vote. I can assure you that after 8 years of BUSH, I have NO INTENTION, ABSOLUTELY NONE of voting for McCain.
I think this is the first time I have actually been angry with the Republicans as they have sold out this country of ours.
It doesn't take a fifth grader to see how corrupt this administration has become. I just look at Cheney and baby Bush and see how greed has become the norm.
Don't the Reps like to ask if we are better now than four years ago? If so, I can state that even those of us who are better off financially than many, can atest to the fact that we are NOT better off. I see a middle class being held down by the elite Republicans and their cronyism (sp), their dedication to big oil over the good of the country.
No, this middle aged, white guy is NOT voting Republican this year. I just hope others open their eyes to the fact that this country is at a crossroads not only domestically, but as a world power.
I am not a social justice type of person. Why would I be given my demographics. However, I am a person who cares about this country and am tired of seeing it go down the drain, seeing people turn against each other out of frustration, seeing greed win over what's right.
My colors have turned this year from a red state person to a blue state person.
I hope others can see through the garbage that the Republicans put out.
If people look into themselves, do they really believe the republicans have their best interest at heart? I used to, but no longer. This white middle aged overweight man is through with a party that expects blind obedience and a mentality that one can not state the emporer has no clothes.
