When I filed for bankruptcy last year I owed Countrywide $85,000 and it had appraised for $95,000 in 2006, OUCH! a $50,000 loss for Countrywide and it isnt sold. I can remember the mortgage broker telling me it was like "free money" and I had to refinance in 06 rates were low, values were high and I had significant credit card debt. First I am not sure it was ever that relevant at all, at best a few dozen chatting and bickering over who is best to lead the country, whether very many people ever paid attention is unknown. Clearly posts used to get more comments than they do lately and I think there are number of reasons for this. I do not think it is all about the banning of some members, this is part of it of course but not the whole picture, many wanted some oversight of things and asked for the removal of some people, in some cases it was justifed and others not. Some of those banned were outright trolls, some were Clintonites that couldnt move on and some just used foul language in their posts. I think there are other reasons that activity is down first I believe some are just too busy to blog or comment for one reason or another they have a real life maybe or they are working on local campaigns, whatever it might be. Second, I think the special groups hurt the overall blog some prefer to chat amongst themselves and just keep to their small group. Third, I think all of us, including Obama himself were stunned by the Palin selection, she threw us off of our game, now as time moves on and her honeymoon with the media and the public is coming to and end I think we can get into full campaign mode and discuss the best ways to win this election. I also sometimes think somethings dont require its own post and could just be added as a comment to another post and thus not have as many uncommented posts.
