Not Vindictive, Just Prudent to Invest Billions on Main Street

Barack it has absolutely nothing to do with saving our neighbors house that is burning because it might be a threat to our own but everything to do with not risking life and limb to save this same house that is already entirely destroyed by termites. The American people are not being vindictive by wanting to hold back $700 billion dollars from Wall Street but are being prudent by not wanting to waste what may be the last substantial amount of taxpayer dollars before the final decent into the abyss of a global income crisis.

We have one last chance at 'jump starting' this economy and that can only be done from below where 95% of lower to middle income citizens consume by purchasing products and services that are produced by the global economy. Nothing will be accomplished by throwing more and more money at Wall Street in an attempt to get the credit markets lending again because once the investment community became aware of the extent of consumer and business leverage they lost a certain amount of confidence in all facets of the U.S. economy. Both foreign and domestic credit markets are not freezing up but what is actually occurring is a natural reaction to the discovery that U.S. businesses and consumers have overextended themselves in an un-concerted attempt at maintaining a level of economic expansion (lifestyle or revenue stream) that is unsustainable given the continuing drop in consumption spending by consumers as a result of their declining incomes.

Now that both businesses and consumers are facing the reality of the real market economic forces that act to stabilize out of balance conditions, all facets of the economy are crying for immediate relief even those such as the financial institutions that will just have to write off or write down most of the over valued credit assets that their customers both businesses and citizens are unable to continue to carry.

Until the 95% of low to middle income U.S. citizens are afforded a substantial increase in income (equated to all the lost income never received from years of productivity gains) the global economy will continue to tank. No other option remains - either use the $700 billion (more required) to 'jump start' this dying income starved economy or watch it decline to the point of no return.

Also, we shouldn't believe everything pandered by the sensationalist media parrots especially when it regards Economics. Investors moved back into the markets today mainly to acquire 'dirt cheap' bargain stocks and investment instruments not simply because they even remotely expect help in the form of a bailout from the U.S. Congress or that if it did transpire would have any effect on confidence anyway. Therefore, what all of us should attempt to do is maintain a link to reality based upon the facts of each day and not take credence in any neoclassical Economic ideology predictions that are rooted in policies that have brought us to this calamitous point in time.

Moving our economy back to a higher level of consumption spending that is not based upon consumers who are over leveraged and businesses that are equally overleveraged because their income is being drained off by greedy executives and board members must be the goal for our nation. Draining more income from the 95% of low to middle income citizen taxpayers in order to invest in worthless debt related assets that would be better purged from our economic system entirely does not lead to a sustainable economic system nor does it help in resolving our current chronic income crisis - it only makes matters worse. We need to invest in America not throw what may be our last remaining dollars that haven't yet been devalued (given time) to the point of being worthless up into the wind, only to be blown across a fast encroaching economic desert.

We have the power to thoughtfully address the income crisis which is the root cause of our economic calamity but only if we remain open-minded to all approaches that are centered upon getting substantial income in the hands of average Americans who will faithfully spend (representing 2/3's of GDP) it on products and services. Not only is it the economically sensible thing to do but the morally right thing to do.
[The Illusion of Justice]
Unique boundless power is exerted upon those citizens that are unfortunate enough not to be among the corrupt few. Regardless of your stature, education, or intelligence those unscrupulous corporations and other guardians of government 'disservice' who command influence over our judges will engage in any action that will perpetuate our obedient servitude to their slanted economic system. It is an economic system integrally tied to a legal system woven to snuggly fit our corporate culture manipulated by a few business elite who use it to their exclusive benefit.

With staggering sums of money being spent by the elite to maintain a legal web of forced obedience on the part of the general citizenry is it any wonder that a citizen of modest income is 'priced out' of obtaining council for anything other than trivial cases.
Articles - Breaking Through To Reality

Blind Acceptance of Unjust Economic Society
http://structuraleconissues.blogspot.com/2008/07/blind-acceptance-of-unjust-economic.html

We've all been blessed with the ability to rationally discern reality from illusion propped up by an aesthetic orthodoxy of economic fundamentalism. What do we realize when we arrive at a gas station to fill our car up with gas, visit the grocery, receive a bill from a hospital that shows a $200,000 balance that our insurance didn't pay, open the mailbox and find a foreclosure notice on our home, get the news that our office or factory is closing and moving overseas, or we find ourselves unable to send our child to a university because the cost is now beyond our comprehension? Are we then struck with a profound belief that the 'free market' coupled with 'globalization' will continue to provide us with economic security or does reality grasp us by the neck demanding our recognition.

We all know far to well what is transpiring globally - a select group of oligarchs (the business elite) that comprise less than 5% of the population have setup a system (totalitarian economic society) that ensures them ultimate power over the 95% of us that fall under their crushing 'boot'. Within their society we're continually bombarded by the frantic ranting of fanatic experts espousing the omnipotence and infallibility of the 'free market economy'. They've even instructed the most intellectually pliable among us in the fine art of simultaneously reconciling a multitude of contradictions into unquestioned compliance and acceptance of their orthodoxy. Essentially, all it requires is a citizenry that is indoctrinated into thinking in terms of proffered processes and dissuaded from deep thought.

When you can rob someone of all pretenses of personal power over their lives and instill in them a sense of hopelessness in the face of forces seemingly beyond their control you've essentially anesthetized them from taking meaningful actions at understanding the reality of their situation much less directly acting to change their condition. Feelings of "that's just the way it is", "we've done it to ourselves", "there's nothing we can do about it", and "we'll just have to adjust", begin to permeate the collective consciousness.
...

The 'Free Market' Guise Is "Big Brother"
http://structuraleconissues.blogspot.com/2008/07/free-market-guise-is-big-brother.html

Funnel everything back onto the adaptive, receptive masses of the global citizenry instilling in them a feeling of inferiority whereby all their actions have and will be perceived to result in a continuing deterioration of their economic situation. It is a perversion of thought pandered through the totalitarian economic society that every injustice or inequality committed by the business elite is ultimately our fault due to our inherent inferiority. We are to blame for not adequately educating ourselves, for over spending, and generally not adjusting to the new world economic order.

In order to effectively perpetuate this ball-faced lie the media is used by the business elite to manipulate not just public opinion but thought itself. There now exists correct and incorrect thought and incorrect thought is portrayed as deviant thought to be identified and ultimately vanquished within our current authoritarian society. Thought is always constrained to only those ideas and concepts acceptable to those who wield power within a strictly regimented hierarchical society. Therefore within the totalitarian economic society complete uniformity of opinions throughout the entire global citizenry is a goal strived for constantly by the elite.

The totalitarian economic society can only effectively extend it tentacles of corruption, subversion, hate, and inequality into every crevice of existing equality through their complete obliteration of the self. Individuality is the enemy of the oppressor for it represents individual thought that disrupts the currents of illusion perpetuated by effective societal propaganda. In fact, the two primary aims of the totalitarian economic society is the complete subjugation of all global citizens under the 'heal' of the business elite and the maintenance of a perpetual vigilance targeted at rooting out and extinguishing all independent thought from whatever level of society it originates.
...

Not Inflation but Monopolistic Pricing
http://structuraleconissues.blogspot.com/2008/07/not-inflation-but-monopolistic-pricing.html
Inflation is an increase in prices that is triggered primarily from rising wages among the general population which in turn results in a significant consumption 'pop'. With more and more money flowing into the economic system from the acceleration in consumption spending by a citizenry flush with wealth - prices will trend higher. Companies realize that there are far more consumers that are willing to spend money on their products than products available to purchase - they therefore ramp up production to meet the demand. In the process, these companies will increase their prices for their products realizing full well that consumers that may never have purchased their products before may now want them given their new found wealth.

Prior to reaching an inflationary period the Federal Reserve will analyze trends in inflation indicators such as the M1 money supply and wage levels relative to worker productivity. If the money supply and wages start rising within an economy that has experienced negligible productivity increases this (along with other economic markers) typically indicates that an economy is moving towards an inflationary period. Wage increases within an economy that has experienced negligible productivity gains is indicative of a tight labor market and/or a well organized labor market that is in a position of strength relative to (capital) corporations. In the 1960's & 70's when the United States was at its economic nadir and labor unions represented a larger percentage of workers there were periods of inflation and one brief instance of stagflation.
...

Wake up America - The Financial Pillage Continues
http://structuraleconissues.blogspot.com/2008/06/wake-up-america-financial-pillage.html

The U.S. dollar's fall against most of the major currencies is the result of a lack of confidence by speculators and governments in the future viability of our economy. We are a nation of debtors that produce very little of anything - not even our past ingenuity and technological base remains for it was erased by greed induced multinational companies scouring the planet in search of cheap labor. Why would anyone want to possess even one dollar bill since it represents a government in name only, a government that is completely beholden to special interest business elites that only use its shell to do their exclusive bidding. Therefore it is only logical that these same evil cloaked speculators realize that the United States is on the verge of a final pillaged by their fellow wicked business elite rulers. Why possess the paper money of a shell of a nation whose poor citizens are bleeding profusely on the pavement (from globalization) unable to muster any meaningful spending power without acquiring debt that they can no longer find or afford.

Only the special interests of a few well heeled business elites matter to our governmental representatives - you're of no concern to them, just a mere citizen. National interests are no longer relevant because nations are fast becoming just fascades that are used by the business elite to exact their complete control over every aspect of our lives - our wallets will be completely drained into the bottomless cauldrons of a seething greed that covers the entire financial landscape of this corrupt totalitarian economic society.
...

The Human Toll of Our Economic Death
http://structuraleconissues.blogspot.com/2008/06/human-toll-of-our-economic-death.html

Sitting out in the car last fall waiting for Diana to step out of the last remaining department store in a dilapidated mall that had been dying slowly for a few short years, it occurred to me that the moment represented the collapse of our nation. This store was closing its doors forever, when the setting sun caressed it in shadows - there would be no returning. Looking over the quiet, dark, and desolate concrete that the encased towering glass opening one couldn't help but wonder what went wrong, for when it happened we were all in the midst of flying head first towards the payment with hair streaming back - there was no halting the terrible fall.

This had mall been just a reflection of the general capital destruction (both material and human) that had been occurring even prior to the 'Great Fall' which happened in just a few sharply defined months. Through a combination of factors both inherent to the distorted economic society and symptomatic of the resulting consumption crisis that grew unabated as real wages steadily dropped lights everywhere started their crescendo of darkening.
...

Consumption Crisis Resulting From Distorted Economy
http://structuraleconissues.blogspot.com/2008/06/consumption-crisis-resulting-from.html

Everything that transpires on our planet cycles within one of many natural loops given that the entire biosphere is our self contained spaceship hurtling us on its elliptical track around the Sun. Space engulfs this living organically lush planet reaching around it with a cold vacuum of nothing other than plasma energies that race across the poles ebbing from our pulsing star. All the various natural systems stabilize across a range of dynamic spectrums merging, mingling, and converging across boundaries that are in a constant state of flux. Nothing is at any instant in a state of equilibrium but only continually approaching a natural steady state. The key word is approaching, since the planetary events are like a boiling pot of water vigorously active but never so stimulated to exceed the natural limits placed upon their expanding volume of molecular excitement.

Chaotic systems both natural and artificially induced (like our contorted, manipulated economic society) always involve the excitement of a multitude of variables that operate within a unique closed system. It is still a system even though most of the variables have been distorted in order to bring short-term gain to a few at the expense of those many who continually grope for income with outstretched hands. Any one of the perturbed variables may tilt the entire system towards temporary instability. Granted a multiplicative effect of income generation is possible by generously infusing the system with income but only through meaningful production either creative or actual transformation of material into useable capital is unperturbed economic steady state migration possible.
...

Caress Us with Lies from a Corrupt System
http://structuraleconissues.blogspot.com/2008/06/caress-us-with-lies-from-corrupt-system.html

The cackles can be heard coming from behind every wall of this 'windowless dirty room' that where trapped within - with little or no hope of escape. Don't worry every now and then they'll throw us a dark moldy piece of stale bread from that opening in the wall to our far right. Word is that those on the other side who call themselves 'controllers' have nightly banquets within crystal palaces. The controllers belong to a select group of privileged citizens who are the lobbyists, business elite, corrupt elements of the intelligentsia, and least we forget the governmental representatives that have been 'body snatched' by the business elite through their lobbyists.

We've been dropped here because when we were working outside within their society we had the indiscretion to engage in wasteful spending. Not just your average supplementing of our paltry subsistence wages through excessive borrowing (credit card, and 2nd mortgage debt) at their financial 'company stores' but the heinous act of causing a correction within their economic society. We neglected to cut back our daily meals from 3 to 1 in order to save some of our meager income at their banks.
...

Oil Block Induced Profit Inflation - Crumbling Economy
http://structuraleconissues.blogspot.com/2008/06/oil-block-induced-profit-inflation.html

Immediately nationalize all the oil companies whose corporate offices reside within the borders of the United States. Seize all assets belonging to the oil companies and their associated oil block (OPEC, oil speculators, and oil companies) thieves' intent upon exacting a short term extraction of available income from every sector of our dying economy. The consuming nation-states should use any and all means at their disposal to ensure that an adequate oil supply is maintained. We cannot afford to idly watch while the entire contrived totalitarian economic society swirls into an income drain gasping with flailing arms for consumption that is mostly chocked off through artificially imposed oil company profit inflation, and speculator income extraction enhanced through OPEC production limits.

Stop the profit inflation spurred on by the oil 'block' intent upon financially razing each and every global citizen leaving behind a barren economic landscape incapable of sustaining consumption spending. With the consumption 'machine' already sputtering from lack of any real wage growth among the working class (even during a period of unprecedented productivity gains) the assault by the oil 'block' on the wallets of this most important group of citizens further erodes their already strained ability to spend. With each and every day the erosion of potential spending from this majority of the citizenry is spilling every additional dollar of potential spending into an encroaching sea of oil profits.
...

To all my Democratic friends,

I will no longer post to the Democratic site. I've come to the conclusion that a good majority of our representatives are also significantly tied to lobbyists.

I'm hopeful Senator Obama is an honest citizen and will vote for him in the general election.

If anyone wishes to continue to read my writings you'll be able to find them at:
A Green Future for Our Nation

You can see the activity in the medians of the interstate expressways the energy is palpable. The elevated structure that will carry the bullet trains traveling in excess of 350 miles per hour is visible while driving down any expressway of the country. There is a feeling of participation exuded by my fellow citizens as if they understand the significance of their being present at this momentous period in our country's transformation. Across the fields in places like Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas large wind turbines, solar collectors, and other innovative structures utilizing a multitude of technologies are being constructed to provide the much needed power for our nation.

Everyone is talking about the activity with an air of anticipation. The undertaking is one of pride that all Americans acknowledge the significance and urgency in completing. We may have been late to act to secure our country's future in a world of uncertain energy supplies but have expended the money and energy that typifies the unique strength of our citizens when faced with a Herculean effort.

It was only a year ago that most of us felt that once again nothing would be accomplished given all the divergent business interests that were vying to derail any initiative that would disrupted the preferred societal stasis. For it was through this static regressive state that the business elite were able to most effectively maintain their control over our society. Why should they consent to changing a totalitarian economic system that had benefited them enormously? What transpired was truly miraculous one by one citizen's starting standing up demanding that the yoke of business be removed from their government. Even governmental representatives who had been the stewards of business interests for years started moving from the shadows into a new light of realization that their country's economic survival was more important than any single business. We could have either continued down the same worn paths of acceptance of our business handler's dictates or rise above the sludge and build a better tomorrow for our nation - together. It was the latter decision that was ultimately chosen.

A patriotic pride has enveloped our nation from the most remote to the most populous regions. It is impossible not to understand how important the completion of all these efforts is, given the continual pressure that is being placed upon our environment by a nation whose expansiveness demands burning unimaginable amounts of fossil fuels just in a daily commute. Not to mention the continual rise in a barrel of oil that has been accelerating of late given OPEC's understanding that once our green industries, and cross-country mass transit systems fully come 'on line' our consumption of oil will drop precipitously.

In some parts of the country our citizens are already enjoying their commutes on bullet trains after parking their cars at their local station. Fully realizing that they'd better become acclimated to this form of travel given that the Emergency Oil Corporation will cease to exist after the completion of the entire transport system and 75% of the green industries are operational - rider ship has increased exponentially over the past few months. For a fee that is a fraction of what we pay for gasoline even at a retail rate with no profit included it represents a significant savings in money not to mention the time saved by not having to sit in traffic during a daily commute. Some people have even begun using the monorails (for they do resemble something you'd see at Disney) for travel during their vacations. With expansive luggage compartments underneath the passenger section most people find that their still able to take between 2 -3 suitcases on a trip for 1/10 of the cost of a plane ride.

Newly formed public utilities are beginning to supply power to homes and business at rates reminiscent of the 1950's generated through renewable energy sources. These public utilities (that are essentially electric cooperatives) are supplanting the private electric companies that for years had been raising rates beyond the means of our citizen's ability to pay.

The benefits are to numerous to quantify - every sector of our nation's economy has been benefiting through the foresight of a few visionaries willing to stand up and push back the selfish business elites in an effort to once again allow our country to travel down the road of prosperity. The only difference this time is the road of our memory where millions upon millions of vehicles burning fossil fuels each competing for space has now become a swift moving steel monorail blazing down the center of a highway.

There is once again talk about the future not in the despair reminiscent of yesterday but the promise of tomorrow - for both our government and economy is finally free to move towards new horizons. We are united under one nation of citizens within one country that we all call home - what a beautiful home.
A Leader with Vision

An awakened aggressive nation of citizens has been voting with passion expending their emotion in a torrid of energy that will eventually crest over the parapets of a government embalmed by a cadre of lobbyists. What our citizens are desperately seeking is a leader that will cross the boundary of obscene doctrinaire generalizations into a clear valley of dreams.

Envision our nation not in disconnected segments but coalesced into a future without preconceived barriers. The only barriers that exist are those that are conceptual self imposed granite walls gouged by bloodied fingers attempting to scale an illusion. We must allow our vision free rein realizing that the walls of impossibility don't exist but were constructed within our minds through well placed preconceptions. Allow your thoughts the freedom to wonder across the valley of dreams.

A leader requires the ability to envision something when nothing is present. A cold stark emptiness devoid of hope or cause filled in by a gentle breeze of the possible. Clearly envision what is possible without logic or preconceptions crowding out your creativity - block out every distraction. We will, we can, we'll be able to accomplish anything - there is nothing that is insurmountable when a nation of citizens resolves to transcend from mediocrity to greatness.

Be that leader - Senator Obama - for we have seen sparks of greatness. Now is the time to present your unencumbered vision, plans, and actions that will result in our nation achieving the unimaginable.

Government that Represents It's Citizenry

A government isn't supposed to tell its citizenry what to expect given certain precepts or inalienable truths never once questioned to determine their validity. Governments have one function that overrides all others, to answer to the will of the people. Whether in a direct fashion as in a democracy or an indirect way through a responsible monarchy that perceives the general tenor of their subjects - the foundation of all good governments rests upon a respect for the citizens that they govern.

When a government disrespects its citizens by engaging in activities or passing legislation that benefits a small select block of citizens to the exclusion of the majority that their supposed to represent - the citizens have every right to dissolve this form of illusory representation. Once corrupted through the melding of the interests of the government representatives with those of the pirates seeking to cannibalize the interests of the general citizenry into their exclusive domain - all is usually lost. It then becomes far too difficult to differentiate the representative from the pirate that has initiated the capture of legislative expectation that once was the exclusive purview of the people.

In their communications with the general citizenry the representatives increasingly disrespect those whom their charged with governing. With the representatives conveying beliefs encased as facts in ever more potent condescending tones the citizens of a nation begin to acquire a subservient posture. Juxtaposed against the patriarchal airs of their representatives the cast is formed and is hardened around the citizens becoming an impervious belief in their own idiocy on a multitude of matters of the state. Once this process is initiated it can be used to silence all dissent by pointing out the ignorance of the former constituents on any matter and contrasting it to the impervious infallibility of their governmental representative benefactors.

Never mind that the supposed infallibility of judgment of the representatives is slanted towards the benefits that they extract through their direct connection with lobbyists that are hooked into business elites. The illusory representation of facts and logic conveyed by the representatives becomes more and more biased towards a belief system espoused by their business elite controllers.

Beware of any law of nature that is just a weak exponent of a human mind that was more interested in perpetuating theory than fact. When the gospel of 'The Free Market' is pandered to those of us who represent the general citizenry of this nation - our ears should perk up in anticipation in receiving an audible justification why tyrants have supplanted our government in our own best interests. It is always in the best interest of the citizenry that tyrants legitimize their rule of tyranny.

The only interest that represents the best interest of the citizens of a nation is those actions by their government that better their lives - not adhere to unchallengeable precepts. We are the government, economy, and for that matter anything that we've conceived those vassals of society to represent - any one of them can be changed for they are not static. Evolution is a constant of nature - change will occur over time. The question now is whether it is change that we desire or change that will enslave us under the power of a few tyrants.

Benefits of Nationalized Oil Industry

One of the central benefits obtained through the nationalization of the oil companies will be the immediate redirection of all accumulated profits towards finding renewable sources of energy to replace oil, the construction of an affordable cross country mass transit system, investment in green industries, and the complete elimination of the profit margin in the retail price of gasoline & diesel.

The oil industry under its current umbrella of subsidies and corporate structural benefits within the totalitarian economic society has absolutely no incentive to invest in alternative forms of energy given the huge profit margins that they've been able to make on retail gasoline & diesel. Proof of this is abundantly evident in the fact that only 1% of all gasoline pumps within the United States are currently E85 ethanol while the remaining 99% are still dispensing fossil fuel based petroleum products. Granted, their have been many concerns of late that ethanol production that uses food crops such as corn are negatively impacting the available supply of food on a global basis but this issue aside why haven't the oil companies made available more 85% ethanol pumps? The reason is simple why should they stop their successful pillage of wealth from the American citizens when nothing is inhibiting them from discontinuing this behavior.

While our country faces an imminent economic collapse perpetuated by over zealous speculation within the energy & commodity markets, excessive profit margin increases at the retail level for petroleum products, a significant reduction in consumer consumption spending stemming from negative wage growth within the past few years, and a continuing downward pressure on wages due to labor arbitrage no meaningful action has been taken by our government of the business elites for the business elites.

Since it is not rational to expect the oil companies to immediately start investing their profits on a massive scale within green industries that would effectively have the effect of significantly reducing the plausibility of their propaganda campaign aimed at maintaining these very same profits - the government of the citizens of this great nation should promptly nationalize all the oil companies.

Once nationalized all retail prices should immediately be reduced by the excessive and artificial profit margins that are currently built into the price of petroleum products. This would have the effect of stabilizing this most important energy source until such time as new renewable forms of energy could be successfully brought to market. In combination with this, a program of building an affordable (for all our citizens) cross country mass transit system of bullet trains linking every city within the United States should commence utilizing a proportion of these acquired profits. This would lay an infrastructure of transportation for the 21st century that would eventually replace our outmoded highly inefficient highway system that is geared more towards a resource abundant past and not a resource constrained future.

In addition to the above outlined steps our nation should use the balance of the profits extracted through the nationalization of the oil industry to invest in the green industries that will provide the jobs of the future. These new industries should design, manufacture, and market products globally of the highest quality in order to set our nation apart through a distinct competitive advantage. We must undertake this initiative without delay and invest heavily in order to insure that our nation has a predominate position in these industries that will be central to our future prosperity.

Granted none of this can be accomplished under the current totalitarian economic society that we find ourselves immersed in - we will first have to take back our government from the business elites and their lobbyist stooges. Once we have accomplished this within the first half of next year everything outlined within this article should be instituted forthright so that we may stop the downward spiral of economic calamity that is currently upon us - there is no time to lose. We must get our citizens back to work ensuring that each and everyone who wishes to work will have a job with a decent wage. With the enactment of the steps outlined within this paper we'll begin to arrest the current extreme inequality of income that is the 'killing fields' of our future economic stability. Time is short but our resolve should be endless - let's grasp our country before it falls into an abyss of instability and global irrelevance.

Nationalize the Oil Companies

High priced gasoline and diesel with 60 - 80% increases over a span of a few months has been generated by global market speculators providing an illusory justification used by the oil companies in their astronomical rise in retail prices. Through their daily bidding up of the cost per barrel of oil from around $50 dollars per barrel in late 2003 to above $127 dollars per barrel on May 16, 2008 global market speculators are contributing to a well orchestrated market manipulation originating first with OPEC's refusal to increase production quotas. With substantial oil reserves still available across the globe these business elites are engaging in an activity that they know all to well - inventing further contrivances to append to the already distorted totalitarian free market society in order to extract the maximum wealth from those lest able to afford their pillage.

With each increase in the cost per barrel of oil the media 'parrots' of the totalitarian market society echo their scripted concern on queue, this en mass media sludge flows across the nation in a wave of propaganda. Almost immediately we the citizens are confronted with yet another increase in the price per gallon in gasoline and diesel. The oil industry blithely dismisses these increases as a direct result of market forces (those same forces that their conveniently engaged in shaping) that are being stimulated in a skyward direction due to limited supply which is driving the underlying cost per barrel higher. How quickly we forget the record profits that these same oil companies have been piling up over the past few months - profits that have exceeded any made by any company in history - billions upon billions of dollars.

Also, disregard the fact that the oil industry hasn't invested in new refineries since the 1970's thus constraining the supply further - is it at all inconceivable that if you constrain the supply of something that it's price will go up when demand increases. With the introduction of India and China into the community of developing nations global demand for petroleum has skyrocketed with populations that when combined represent the largest proportion of human beings living anywhere driving more and more cars, and requiring ever more electricity to power their homes and factories. So with the supply being constrained due to limited global refining capacity and demand that is increasing almost exponentially, market speculators bidding the price up daily on a barrel of crude oil, and the oil companies using this as a justification for raising their retail prices way beyond any market related factors is it any wonder we are having to make an investment every time we stop to fill up our vehicles.

Now steps in the oil producers and particularly the largest oil producer in the world - Saudi Arabia. Why not keep the pillage parties of these business elites riding across all the nation-state citizens grasping at every wallet or purse in sight galloping along at full speed? If production quotas enacted by the cartel of thieves that call themselves OPEC is maintained at a minimum the global supply can be further constrained but instead of at the point when the oil is transformed into gasoline in this case directly at the source - the wells.

So what's been contrived by the oil producers, oil refiners & companies, market speculators, the entire cadre of business elites including government lobbyists, and the media through their propaganda blitz is an absolute marvel of finessed manipulation of the totalitarian free market economic society with the effect of bringing about the 'perfect storm' of income pillage of the global citizenry.

It's time to put an immediate stop to this hideous greed - we must nationalize all the oil companies within our nation. The egregious profits that they've been accumulating on the backs of citizens just attempting to live their lives in a quiet peaceful and pleasant manner is utterly indefensible. Once nationalized these profits should benefit a nation and planet on the point of ecological peril by investing in the new green industries that will provide jobs for us and a future for our children. Let the United States once again represent the promise of a brighter tomorrow - everything is in our hands - we the citizens that once again will be represented.

Click, Click of the Totalitarian Economic Society

Time clicking, click, click, slipping past each second moving incrementally towards a minute then an hour after an eternity of drifting through innumerable minutes. One day at a time we drift across towards the close of another week. Month after month succumbs to a year and then many more years evaporate under the passage of our lives drifting imperceptibly within the steady decline of our great nation. Where not to be blamed for not noticing the cracks, worn paint, crumbling roads, graffiti filled concrete, and shabbily clothed hardened souls that form a gray backdrop to cities who've had their empathy vaporized under a beam of evil within the totalitarian economic society. Stark contrasts are only recognizable when contrasting a beginning with an ending.

Look around you, do you see it, do you feel it, its the faint pulse of a country slowing ever so audible one injustice, decline, old car, crumbling home, crime infested neighborhood, and sad citizen moving across a tapestry of selfishness inflicted by an evil concerned with nothing but power and one extra dollar.

Once a brilliant nation expanding the horizons of the possible with journeys to the moon and passion infused dreams of a future uninhibited by barriers - now a static greed infested corrupt capsule of a constricted vacant staring money machine that grinds endlessly. Nothing is left but the worship of our sacred ruby encrusted holy book of 'The Free Market' which instructs every one of us in the proper actions within the well orchestrated money society constructed by the business elites. Crumbing infrastructure, dreams, souls, or any other fluid of existence is acceptable given the cost that must be controlled per one of the most sacred commandments within this holiest of written works committed to memory by our Economic pastors. If you believe in a deviant form of equity, justice, community of citizens, and dreams - your sacrilege will not be tolerated by the Order of the Republican Party. You'll be punished for your sacrilegious acts against the one truth that all must live by - greed. Immediately, cleanse your minds of those deviant recollections of a nation before everything became something to be calculated within a spreadsheet of profit and loss.

Do you see it, some form is becoming clearer, is it a past with crisp clean lines, uncluttered by inhibitions in thought or destitute of spirit? We've transcended from a people of purpose to a rock solid still quiet subservient benign unquestioning inhibited mass under the direct control of a government infected by a contagion of evil. The few business elites having vanquished our beliefs are now in the process of eliminating the exercise of our free thoughts.

...An Unwelcome Future...
Click, click, click, the transgress of our time is moving from the present to a terrible future - it was one that they could have prevented. Did they even attempt to stop the continued harassment of those attempting to correct a destiny of complete slavery and totalitarian intolerance by comprehending passed the deception?

It must be written that we the people of this moment acted to cut out this totalitarian economic society from our nation and excise those who were most adept at absorbing everything into their swollen hands.

One more imperceptible click, don't you hear another, there must be another, oh no it's quiet - silence. We have reached the end game - nothing remains of the country that we once dreamed through and imagined was blessed to be the beacon of enlightenment.

Action...Stop...Greed...Think...Equity...Citizens...Community...Nation

These were their last thoughts before the chains were welded to the steel.

Purge the Filth from Our Country

Dirt, grime, sacred cattle defecating on the streets, terrorist strikes aimed at the general population, and disease in their country of choice - we'll just have to purge our former citizens from the bowels of our country into their new found home in India or China. In their effort to cast aside our country the business elite have utilized every tool within their toolbox of deceit and corruption in order to subjugate their fellow citizens. They've lost the right to be counted among their fellow citizens. If their willing to destroy so many American families through the outsourcing and hiring of foreign workers to replace the jobs of hard working American citizens - these business elites should be shown the 'exit door' in mid flight on this journey of destitution they've charted for our nation.

Any corporate executives including board members who were involved in the destruction of American lives, communities, and their nation at an alter of greed should have their citizenship immediately revoked. Let them plead for citizenship with their new found friends in India, China, or wherever they've been engaged in their latest global pillage of wealth. They'll thoroughly enjoy their new found surroundings replete with all the trappings of a third world country or the absolute totalitarian government under true despot sudo communists. This represents not a warning but the promise from a people who have been battered and abused for far too long - we will engage our will - you're traitorous acts will be exposed beneath our light of justice. Prepare your luggage for a one way trip out of a country that you've despoiled beyond recognition - small towns boarded up, torn & worn down veterans and citizens, factories shuttered, working poor holding down 2-3 jobs, millions without healthcare, and citizen workers replaced by foreigners or having their jobs outsourced - the face of my country that has been distorted from continuous pain.

After throwing out these traitorous slugs in our effort to cleanse our nation of those who befouled everything that we once stood for we'll immediately replace the boards and executives of the effected firms with citizens who've been elected by the people. No longer will a business be considered some sacred entity designed solely for the interests of a few well connected elites but an economic creation that benefits the largest majority of our nation's citizens.

Those businesses that don't execute the will of the people should be nationalized. There is no excuse for a continuance of greed that forces our citizens into the desperate act of deciding between food, gas, or their prescription medicine in a roulette of utter despair - seize the billions upon billions of dollars from the most recalcitrant corporations such as oil firms.

Transfer those filthy billions of dollars that were obtained by businesses within this totalitarian economic society to the immediate needs of a citizenry that has been crushed under the weight of a corrupt system.

The boarding passes are now ready for those business elites who were traitors to their fellow citizens - please report to gate 13 your trip to hell is now cleared for departure. Have a wonderful time in your new found home - just remember you may never return.

Another America - A Business Kingdom

Seeing the abject poverty moving in animated distress through the streets of his city made John very uncomfortable. He was always of the opinion that those who weren't working were essentially failures unworthy of recognition in a system that provided everyone with unlimited opportunities. To compound his discomfiture he was now seeing uniformed relics of a war that he supports sleeping under cardboard blankets beneath bridges where he used to jog by - that was before these apparitions started accumulating in ever greater numbers. Why didn't his buddies in the Defense Department simply ship these useless dregs out for enough tours of duty until they were completely expended? It just occurred to him that he'd have to increase his oil investments because that war was providing the hefty returns that were originally envisioned - with its continual festering of wounds in an already troubled Middle East.

Or better yet the government could just send in the National Guard to round up these deviants that were cluttering his choice outdoor spaces. Clearly, someone of his stature within the community was exceedingly more significant than these dredges that harbored ill will towards him and his fellow wealthy patrons of society. Didn't these creatures realize that he and his friends represented the refined crust of an American society already crumbling with mold? Why weren't the lobbyists that he paid good money to vanquishing this scum from his city? He resolved that he would contact Sandy Duncan tomorrow about how she hadn't been fulfilling her end of the bargain since his funding of her campaign. He had enough of her pandering to those idiots who thought that they had elected her, she would do his bidding or else he would disconnect the spigot of money that was flowing into her campaign war chest.

Since the closing of the local food bank it was even difficult to stop his Mercedes at a stop light without someone rushing towards his car attempting to clean the windows with rag and sprayer in hand. Did they really expect him to give them one penny in support of this nasty nuisance? One day he even had to open his window to extricate this scum from his car because he just started coughing uncontrollably all over his car. Granted this credent probably hadn't had any medical attention since he came back from Iraq (was wearing some worn out uniform) and possibly was exposed to something that ruined his lungs but why did he have to befoul his brilliantly clean car? Anyway, at least he made it to the fund raiser for the Republican Party for he really enjoyed the $5,000 evenings because they always flew in a top chef from New York who prepared the most exquisite delicacies.

Just yesterday his employees were demanding a raise even though he had informed the miscreants that they'd better 'toe the line' or else more of them would be replaced by those foreign workers he'd been shipping in from India. What were these slobs thinking given the demands that were being placed upon his bottom line by investors; clearly he'd scaled down his life style. He wasn't even able to fly the corporate jet to the Riviera three times a year and could now only afford two visits per year. Did they really consider that he'd give them a raise, he hadn't done it in 4 years - so why now? He was going to have to contact his HR manager tomorrow in order to draw up another list of terminations that would surely put the fear of god into those uncooperative serfs. Also, his quota of H1-B foreign workers was getting dangerously close to being exhausted therefore he'd also have to visit that committee up in the House of Representatives and impress upon these most compliant stooges that he simply needed a higher quota of foreign workers next quarter. They could delight their constituents with their marvelously espoused gospel readings from the book of 'The Free Market' while they cut their financial throats - that always worked wonders on that bunch of intellectually lazy working scum. They'd believe anything the media pumped down their throats - for that matter they'd been kicked around so much they reminded him of a dog that he once owned that would continually walk back towards him in its submissive slump ready to be booted once more by his strong swift leg.

Consequences

There exists a fine delineation between the citadels of the totalitarian economic society and the remaining insignificant external community. Within the business citadels those who hold positions of power through their exquisite ability to adhere to the precepts of a morally corrupt environment expect that all their actions regardless of how sinister are shielded behind the impenetrable walls of their 'free market'. They hold this false illusion that any act may be committed against their fellow citizens once they've crossed the demarcation line from their community into the domain of the all powerful business.

Actions have consequences - they may not be apparent within a reasonable period of time but answerable once the rumblings of change have subsided. When clarity has once again replaced the tumult of evil - justice will arise from the ashes of distortion and reclaim its rightful place among the people. Those citizens that have chosen to disregard the basic decency, equity, and respect of their fellow citizens by engaging themselves in activities such as outsourcing, the hiring of foreign H1-B or L-1 workers, commodity speculation, or any action that was taken to benefit the few at the expense of the many will face consequences for their actions. The memory of a people that have felt the unrelenting 'kick of a shoe' by those who would disregard the most basic moral decency towards their fellow citizens is crystal clear across any expanse of time.

Even though the surrogates of business within the totalitarian economic society daily cross into their castle walls unobstructed by actions that they take against their fellow citizens within, they still must cross over the moat back into their communities. Communities that are experiencing the trauma of the furtherance of their greed induced gospel of 'free trade'. Family's lives are being disrupted beyond repair and communities torn asunder under the tyrant's pull of injustice - these are effects of the actions taken by the few against the dreams of the many. Step out into the fresh air of your community but be warned that those who've been affected by your callous disregard for your fellow citizen will consider you a traitor and clearly mark the day in the future when you'll be answerable for your corrupt actions taken through your philosophy of greed.

Watch carefully your every step within your community because there will be no escape from the eyes of those who still wear their citizenship proudly unsoiled by actions in support of a totalitarian economic society. For they will make your existence a nightmare equivalent to the nightmare you exposed them to within your hallowed walls of corruption and greed. No longer will the surrogates of business who've railroaded their fellow citizens into poverty find solace or peace within their communities. How convenient, comfortable, and quiet their lives have been in the past - they could retire daily to their communities after terminating hundreds or thousands of their fellow citizens only to replace them with foreigners willing to work for practically nothing. Or possibly they just closed an entire office or factory terminating thousands of citizens only to open the office again in another country with a lower wage rate. It's interesting to watch the smug callous secure strutting of these drones of business within the confines of their castles - nothing will dissuade them from the pillage of their fellow citizens because their souls are already black with evil. The transformation of their attitude into one of insecurity, watchfulness, and worry will be quite refreshing once they've realized that their will be consequences for their heartless revelry.

An awakening of realization is coursing across all the citizens of our nation. We're rising from a long torpor that was induced by a continual stream of 'free market' propaganda meant to subdue us to the point of inaction. With this realization and awakening we're acutely aware of our responsibly to our country and children - we will remember and act. Nothing should or will transcend our rights to life, liberty, justice, and the pursuit of happiness - absolutely nothing!

Road from Destruction

After our survival was ensured we involved every citizen in the reconstruction of our planet. With the metropolitan areas once again thriving there were many rural areas that still required considerable attention. The wound dug deep across many remote regions was far too extensive to engage our limited resources initially. It was absolutely imperative that we first reconstruct the industrial, technological, and business sectors of our shattered economy in order to achieve a level of full employment of our citizens.

Destruction unparalleled with anything we'd ever experienced left many areas charred and desolate beyond recognition. The enemy was expert at a form of cleansing that could only be comprehended visually. Our cities were reconstructed against a cobalt blue sky with steel and titanium reflecting bright recollections of our past - one nation state melded into a community of cooperation. Linking the rural areas into a communication grid was a task that required the marshalling of most of our citizens in the installation of data relay stations in every imaginable desolate dusty location that comprised this arid desert and at times mountainous world. Our reconstituted industries were essential in designing and manufacturing every important and seemingly insignificant component that binds a society together. Without these manufacturing sectors coupled with our rebuilt metropolitan areas we would never have even been able to imagine a bright secure future.

Granted it is intellect that courses across the unknown to create the unimaginable but without the hard material that can be formed within a manufacturing facility into something useful you might as well be day dreaming. It was a passionately electric sight to watch our skilled workers operate the various robotic visualization screens that linked directly into the synapses of the actual machines. Machines engaged in the process of recreating a society that operates and engages every single citizen actively in an experience far more exciting and fulfilling than scaling the largest mountain peak. Tied to the respect of the individual who is a recognized integral part of the national community is the belief that through each and every citizen our country shines.

Assisting those who originally resided in the rural areas (currently living in temporary city dwellings) into returning to new homes was now of primary importance. Once all the mass transit links were brought back on line it became a monumental operation to transport all the equipment and material required to rebuild every home and building that existed prior to the invasion. It must be comprehended that quality polished to a fine hue is the essence of our being and a clear reflection of who we are as a people. Therefore every single element of our society was reconstructed with a care and uncompromising simple elegance. We would never have considered placing our citizens in a home that did not correspond to the respect that we extended every citizen of our beautiful world.

We are a very proud people, proud of our industry that creates the highest quality products, proud of our culture and community but especially proud of each other. Without each and every one of us there is no nation - only a disinterested jumble of individuals fighting and tearing at each others throats. We've visited cultures where nothing was reverent but the continual acquisition of wealth by the individual but have typically seen these deviant civilizations extinguish themselves before we were able to even contemplate their existence.

From the very beginning our military was being rebuilt to provide an adequate defensive as well as offensive capability. We have never engaged our military in conflicts were the survival of our people was not the primary motive of engagement - we value our citizens too highly to place them in harms way for mere political expedience. Under the circumstances our survival was in jeopardy therefore we would build a military capable of destroying the entire enemy force.

Responsibility under Tyranny

Bad societies need compliant actors to fulfill their edicts of subjugation under their unyielding callas boots - those who will accept the unquestioning responsibility to follow through with any action regardless of its nature. Culpability crosses across all members of a society that is based upon inequity, greed, and steel rationality at the expense of our humanity. History is replete with examples of citizens mechanically discharging their societal duties under precepts that disguised an unmistakable evil. Refusing to ignore the consequences of our actions only assists in the positive rationalization by the community - if my neighbor impatiently discharges his duties surely it must be right.

Under the National Socialist's in Germany the populous was merged into an evil system that used propaganda, fear, and division to mold the citizens into compliant resourcefully evil appendages of the state. The citizenry under the Nazi's was so conditioned by the state that any tyrannical action propagated by the state became a gospel precept not to be deviated from regardless of how inhuman the consequences. A non-questioning citizenry lead to the death of millions of innocent fellow citizens at the hands of a subverted 'right' omnipotent point of view instilled by the state - but make no mistake those citizens hands were bloodied.

In our current totalitarian economic society when a doctor refuses to care for a patient that will die without care simply because that fellow citizen doesn't have adequate health insurance - the doctor is culpable of perpetuating an evil system. When a worker at an insurance company refuses to authorize an operation that could save another citizens life - that worker is culpable of perpetuating an evil system. When a judge rules in favor of a large company when the defendant was unable to attend the trial to defend himself because she didn't have the thousands of dollars to pay a lawyer - that judge is culpable of perpetuating an evil system. When a police officer evicts a family onto the street because the husband's job was outsourced overseas and they were unable to pay their mortgage on time - that police officer is culpable of perpetuating an evil system. When a legislator votes in favor of giving millions of dollars to an investment bank but votes against providing mortgage foreclosure assistance to millions of fellow citizens - that legislator is culpable of perpetuating an evil system.

When we recognize that what we do is unjust but continue to prop up the unjust as just we are all culpable of perpetuating an evil system. There is no turning back on responsibility for we are all responsible simply for accepting what is unacceptable. None of us can turn our backs towards a brighter future until we put both our hands up in protest and say enough is enough - I will no longer accept the unacceptable. Anytime where in doubt of whether we reside in a just society we should ask ourselves do the actions of the society benefit the majority of society - are they equitable. If the answer to this question is a resounding no we need to begin to extricate ourselves from the sticky illusion of right typically exuded by these corrupt societies.

A byproduct of our totalitarian economic society is pain, inequity, and submissive compliance by the many under the stiff arm of the economically powerful few. There is nothing equitable about our current society! It is time to disassociate ourselves from such a patently sinister destroyer of humanity.

High Prices, No Jobs & A Bought Government

Start planting that garden so that we'll have some food to eat when the market speculators have bid the price up to astronomical levels. We must not forget that there are those of us who feel that we must just adapt to every additional injustice that is forced down our throats. Never mind that the business elite are continually extracting the entire life's blood from the global economy gorging their corpulent greed soiled bodies - just adapt so that they may drown you financially grabbing your loot when it floats to the top.

We should just add more hours to our day caring for a garden after we've expended all our energy working 2 jobs. Maybe the business elite will provide a meager plot of land rationed to a bare subsistence level once there selfish 'company store' banks have foreclosed on our homes. No you must be mistaken they couldn't allow their corrupt government to assist the people because that would be valuable land that could be acquired by large agribusinesses. Never mind the small farmer who has already been decimated many years ago at the hands of these multi-national agribusiness ravens. Well I guess all of the future landless serfs will just have to rummage through the garbage of the wealthy that are directly connected into the totalitarian economic society.

How do you suppose we'll pay for the seeds to plant the garden even if we maintain our homes for a short period of time? With Home Depot closing in excess of 230+ stores and employing many working class citizens who lost their jobs when their factories closed or their jobs were outsourced (not to mention replaced by H1-B, and L-1 foreign workers) they'll just have to starve - don't expect any help from this government infested with lobbyist stooges and corrupt politicians. You are nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing, unimportant, an irrelevant crust of scum on the bottom of the shoes of the greedy global capitalists. They will wipe you like a bug from their windshield in order to clear their view towards a new source of loot to pillage from the working citizens of this world.

One adaptation of injustice will lead to yet another, then another in the end leaving you utterly vanquished with no property, job, respect - a used up shell cast upon the waste heap of the 'free market' dump. Your replacement will be similarly used and discarded more quickly by one from the endless army of cheap servile pliable workers within the global labor pool.

It must be accepted that before you go looking for that nonexistent job once you're thrown out on your face because you're just not cheap enough to keep around you must first drain your wallet of your last dollar. At the oil company 'free market' gasoline leaches the sucking of your few remaining dollars will begin, in order to feed some corporate oil executive floating on a yacht laughing at your stupidity in allowing this corrupt economic society to continue to allow him to extort more and more money from your open hands.

Acceptance is easy but it's like credit that accumulates until it can't be managed. The longer we accept our lot in life in the face of utter bald faced greed the more profound the loss we'll endure.

Need to Protest against Our Government's Not Hearing Our Voices

**************We need to protest!***************

In France when the government was more concerned about supporting the interests of the global capitalist business machine and ready to step on their citizens the truckers organized a convey to Paris blocking every road for miles. They affixed signs to their rigs stating the positions of the people on a multitude of issues. Nothing moved on the roads for days until the government finally acquiesced to the demands of their citizens. Something similar needs to be organized to let our elected representative know that we will not stand by idly while they pander to the interests of the lobbyist business elite slime.

Freedom Breaking Through the Shroud

The grasping hands were seeking to drag those of us that lacked the will of resistance towards their hearts of tyranny. Clasping our skulls in both their hands they squeeze our free thoughts loose after crushing our existence into pulp. Food, gasoline, electricity, our homes, jobs, democracy, respect, all ooze from the business elite as a gooey excretion contaminated by their greed.

Will we be able to eat in a few months, drive our cars to work, turn on a light bulb within our homes, save our jobs from outsourcing, and maintain some semblance of democratic governance? You'd better behave, don't pull to forcefully upon your chains - stop your rattling of them - silence or the constant puss of sensational media programming will have to be intensified! You will comply - there is no escape from the clutches of corruption, deceit - a sheer pure evil thrust into your very existence. No need to choke upon their propaganda of subservient submission - think for yourself - become a reasoning mind enveloped in clarity.

Don't let anyone gasp your last breath of freedom push them back into the dark while racing quickly towards the light of equity, respect, and decency. Movement should immediately commence against this tyrannical economic society whose gears are cutting our fellow citizens by the continual swirling of the upward spiral of speculation, labor arbitrage, and greed extolled by malcontents. The end is a blurry image that may focus into a decent society but might portend an extreme pain emanating from tighter ankle shackles.

Those who are smilingly spit from the corporal mouths of the corporate machine, are dying due to inadequate or no medical treatment, working 2-3 jobs, unable to pay their electric bills, fuel their cars, in the process of losing their homes, and can't defend themselves in the system of injustice. We must realize that continued inaction will guarantee a future subsistence spiral towards a life of poverty.

Stand up don't lack the ability to have you counted among those who will not expend anymore useless energy parroting the nonexistent benefits of a 'free market' economic system. A system dominated by business elites who sacrifice you daily at it's alter of greed while being absolutely oblivious to your pleads for help.

Our freedom will only evolve from action - you determine the best course but plot it soon. The cutting gears of the totalitarian economic society are accelerating its motion of unquenched greed fueled by an orgy of legalize theft of our income in the form of higher and higher prices. Once having experienced the taste of greed business elites will justify everything in their satisfaction of this lusting for wealth. They'll rationalize the most abhorrent actions against their fellow citizens in order to extract the last dew of income from our backs. They don't hear you now their in their frenzied greedy feeding state - you can recognize this condition because their eyes have rolled back exposing only a white glare - watch the sharp teeth they'll tear from you your last dollar.

Passing upon the Rock

Moving down the trail on a pleasant cheerful late afternoon I stumbled upon a large rock something hewn from the side of the cliff. There were many such rocks placed their by some careful hand all of them tugging at my inner spirit. It had been a good life filled with many clear and passionate passages embroidered within a compassionate land. A land of respectful, pleasant citizens bound to one another in a kinship of community.

We all realized that we represented something more profound than the overpowering desires of the individual - our common bond was the attraction that instilled a unity of purpose. Separateness was something seldom experienced - we were all traveling down a trail of empathy that ended in mutual respect for one another.

Most of my nights were filled with the company of happy friends spent in conversation in a small but intellectually enormous living room. Our talks were essential to my very existence - something that electrified my reason for life. Along with the long walks I'd take over the many sidewalks of our neighborhood (with my wife and son) at hours of the night when the air possessed a slight damp coolness these were all uniquely genuine moments of happiness that enhanced a normally relaxed state of mind.

There was once an open house event at my son's school that I attended where the parents walked around the school meeting the teachers and other parents who were also our neighbors. The sense of neighborhood was vibrant in every singular moment of our lives. That night all of us ate food prepared by our neighbors and enjoyed the company of each other while listening to our children who performed music they had selected for the occasion. What I clearly remember is the pride that all of us took in our school - one that was ours in all its clean expansive polish.

Nothing can replace the feeling of belonging of being intertwined into a higher social consciousness of respect, empathy, but most importantly community. We were all part of something beyond a self centered singular desire to be fulfilled at any cost.

A tremulous time occurred over a few years when we were attacked by others who engaged one another in confrontational bouts of self. They came bent upon destruction, not so much as conquers but despoilers of civilian - probably because so little of it existed within their world. We found shelter in caves made habitable by a government that was an extension of our community, received medical attention at large hospitals whose only objective was caring for everyone, and fought with a military that enlisted volunteers not for what they might receive once the war was over but for service to their country. We suffered tremendously with most of our homes, and cities destroyed beyond recognition.

Once the war had ended we counted our dead among our fellow citizens and friends and reviewed the endless destruction with pain filled eyes. We had lost everything, nothing was left standing, millions upon million's of loved ones were gone. Pictures of cities ablaze with bent steel towers, bridges blown asunder and scorched ground were the memories that would remain. Our beloved home was dust.

Those of us still alive walked for days across an empty expanse, sleeping in ruins that were once buildings - meeting others along our course of despair. Something clicked within us that enabled us to transcend utter destruction and move towards healing. It was our sense of community - the caring for one another that enabled us to rebuild our civilization.

We first erected monuments to our dead citizens - for some they had no remaining family. Most of our civilization now resided in carved out spaces of remembrance on lean white memorial slabs placed in a center space surrounded by a terraced drive that terminated at the slab - a little lower than the surface. There were thousands upon thousands of these monuments for we had lost millions - it hurts to remember - pain is all I feel.

After many years we rebuilt our civilization not on the backs of others but with the hearts, minds, and hands of all. Now there are once again shining towers with brilliant crystal capstones thrust up by gleaming steel many miles into our sky. For with everyone our community exists in vibrant continuity with only the few or the one nothing would have been possible.
