William Bain's Blog

Blog for Moderate Democrats, who believe the New Democrat Era of the Clinton Years needs to be reborn. I rememember when Bill and Hillary Clinton were in the White House. Those were great days of a booming economy, reasonable energy costs, gasoline was $1.23 per gallon, a government surplus and a real hope of fixing our problems at home, like social security and health care. I believe in the leadership of Hillary and Bill Clinton (Two for One). Under the leadership of Hillary Clinton; We can get this country re-energized by growing a new job market of new green technolgy and alternate energy jobs right here in the USA. And under the leadership team of Hillary and Bill Clinton along with advisors like Senator Joe Biden we can have a strong forign policy that gets down to business. With the experience of the Clinton White House we can bring this country back to the greatness we once knew and regain the respect this nation once held both here and around the world.

I am a proud to be called a "New Democrat"

A Hollow Victory, By A Hollow Candidate, Scripted By The Democratic Elitist.

The Democratic Party has gone from being a party of the people; to a party of sellouts, punks, and schoolyard bullies.

This current Democratic Party is lacking in Democracy, Fair play, honor and integrity, and perhaps in common sense.

Despite dominating in recent primaries, defying extreme outspending odds, and connecting with the voters in each of the states. Not to mention being the strongest candidate to beat Senator John McCain in November. The Democratic Party Elite have continually snubbed their noses down at the voting results; disrespected and tried to diminish Senator Hillary Clinton at every turn.

Every time Senator Hillary Clinton would get a Big Primary Win and dominate in the voting results in States like Pennsylvania, West Virgina, Kentucky and so on; then these so called democrats on the Obama side would come out with their scripted and staged endorsements for Obama, despite Senator Clinton's overwhelming victories in the primaries the night before.

What utter disrespect for the voters of this land and in those States. It's like these schoolyard bullies in the Democratic Party saying to the voters in these primary States; that they are little people and what they think doesnt matter.

BUT, YOU ARE VERY WRONG! THIS IS AMERICA WHERE EVERY VOTE SHOULD COUNT AND BE COUNTED THE WAY IT WAS CAST.

A perfect example of this is the Democratic Parties Rules and Bylaws Committee's decision on the Michigan votes and delegates.

HOW IN A DEMOCRACY, AND HOW IN AMERICA; does the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee justify taking away delegates from Senator Hillary Clinton, that she honestly Won in Michigan and giving those UNEARNED delegates to Senator Barrack Obama.

THAT IS NOT DEMOCRACY, It's tampering with the voting results. period.

And further to only give the Michigan and Florida delegates half a vote at the convention is like only giving the voters half a voice. It is tampering with the outcome and an attempt to diminish and silience the voices of those voters.

Now, we hear talk of party unity, WHERE HAS THE PARTY UNITY BEEN DURING THIS ENTIRE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY PROCESS?

I still support Senator Hillary Clinton as our Nominee, despite the DNC's scripted math and numbers for Senator Obama.

The Democratic Party needs to find it's soul again, because your games are losing a lot of the Democrat core voters, who have been invisible to you, ignored and disrespected by the elist bullies in the DNC throughout this primary process; and it is shameful.

ABC's NightLine Did A Nice Story About Senator Hillary Clinton Tonight..She's Still My Candidate.

ABC News NightLine did a nice story on Senator Hillary Clinton tonight. I wish the media would have done more stories about the candidates like this one.

Senator Hillary Clinton is Still the Best Candidate to Win against Senator John McCain in November.

The threats of intervention to supersede the process by the Gestapo like tactics of some Democrats like Nancy Pelosi, and Howard Dean do not faze me or deter my wholehearted respect and dedication to my candidate Senator Hillary Clinton.

I am my own person and I support who I believe in and that is Senator Hillary Clinton, All the Way To The Convention.

What is so wrong with taking this to the convention? Everyone talks about a Floor Fight, why can't we have a discussion, and reality check on the prize in November as Statemans.

Isn't that what Democracy is suppose to be?

Clinton 08.....All The Way!

The Undermining of America's Union, Not a Country of 48 States....

In America, We are suppose to have a representative government of ALL the people. A Nation of where Freedom and Liberty prevail....A Country where Every American Citizen should have the right to vote, and for those votes to be counted exactly the way the votes were cast.

ANYTHING LESS IS TAMPERING WITH THE OUTCOME OF THE VOTES.

The suggestion by some at the DNC to count only Half the votes of Florida and Half the votes in Michigan, and only give the delegates half a vote, UNDERMINES OUR DEMOCRACY AND THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.

What we are seeing in this election, in the attempts to Silence and Suppress votes is something we would expect to see in an election in some Third World Country, with a dictator in control.

NOT IN AMERICA, AND NOT ON OUR WATCH.

If the Democratic National Committee wants to impose a Hefty fine on the Democratic State Parties of Michigan And Florida, Do that.

But, Do not disinfranchise the voices of over Two and a half Million Voters in Michigan and Florida.

WE ARE A COUNTRY OF 50 STATES OF THE UNION, NOT 48 STATES.

To the DNC: Count ALL the votes, the way the voters voted, and seat ALL the Delegates, so that ALL 50 States are Fully represented at the convention. That is the way Democracy is suppose to work and that is what America STANDS For.

GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Invasion of the Obama Snatchers; Has the Democratic Party Lost it's Soul?

About that memo from the DNC, to summarize that memo regarding the seating of the Michigan and Florida Delegates: Here's an idea, We (the DNC) will only silence and suppress half of the voters of Michigan and half of the voters of Florida.

WHAT A STELLAR EXAMPLE OF DEMOCRACY. It reminds me of the 2000 Presidential Election when the Republicans were trying to stop the votes in Florida from being counted. All Democrats were standing up and screaming about that and rightfully so. Every vote of every American Citizen should be counted and counted as the voters voted. Period.

It is totally disgraceful for the Democratic Party to be conducting itself in the way it has been doing. The bottom line goal here for Democrats should be not to disinfranchise ANY of the voters from Michigan and Florida.

When these voters voted, they did not cast half votes. They exercised their rights as Americans to vote and vote their heart. For the Democratic Party to seek to silence, suppress, or attempt to tamper with the outcome of those votes is Un-American and undermines our Democracy as a nation.

If the DNC wants to impose a hefty monetary penalty, a fine on the State Democratic Parties of Michigan and Florida that's one thing, but to effectively change the outcome of the votes cast is not only shameful, it's unethical.

It is like part of the Democratic Party has been taken over by the Invasion of the Body (Obama) Snatchers. And their end does not justify their means; To silence or diminish the voices of the voters of any state is WRONG!

Maybe, the Democratic Party truly has lost it's soul. I certainly hope not.

A Tribute To Our World War II Veterans, In Memory Of My Friend Howard Judd. March 1st, 1916 - March 27th, 2008.

On this Memorial Day let us all give thanks to all of our Veterans for every war they have fought and for the sacrifices they have made for this country.

Especially, the World War II Veterans; with the passing away of each one of these great hero's; we are losing a wealth of knowledge. These men and women were great patriots who loved their country, respected our flag, and truly believed in the words "God Bless America".

My Father's best friend and my best friend Howard Judd was one of these people. My Dad had died when I was three years old and growing up without a father is tough. It was Howard Judd who taught me everything I know about cars, who was always there to give good advice when I needed it. You could always count on Howard Judd, rain or shine, if you needed help you knew he would be there.

These were the kind of values the World War II generation held. They were soldiers for the cause and when they came home they were patriots and mentors. Beyond being my Friend and sharing his knowledge and experiences, Howard Judd taught me, the lessons of life.

Maybe some of you, have known your own Howard Judd; So on this Memorial Day while we are cooking on the grill, or at the beach, some state park or home in our own backyards: let us remember what this holiday truly represents and let us remember those who have gone before us with sincere thanks.

God Bless Our Veterans, God Bless Our Troops and God Bless America....

Have a Blessed Memorial Day.

Hillary and Bill Clinton, A Leadership Team, Taking A Walk Through Memory Lane....

The two terms of President Bill Clinton is a place in memory lane that Republicans want us to forget and some Democrats choose not to remember, Because it does not suit their own personal climb up the political ladder, or so at least that's what they think.

In going through some boxes of newspaper clippings my mom had saved over the years, I came across a business section from the Flint Journal, dated February 6, 1999.

Here are some excerpts stories from that business section:

Jobless rate remains low at 1999 start

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

WASHINGTON - The American economy entered the new year on a tear, creating 245,000 jobs in sales, construction, computers and other fields and holding the unemployment rate at a 28 year low of 4.3 percent.

The government's first major economic report of the year, issued Friday by the Labor Department, showed January's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate matched the level achieved in December, April and, before that, in 1970.

The unemployment rate for whites was unchanged at 3.8 percent in January. But the rates for blacks, 7.8 percent, and Hispanics 6.6 percent, fell to the lowest levels since the government began tracking them in the early 1970's.

"It's a great time to be an American worker", said economist Bill Cheney of John Hancock in Boston. "The job market, except for manufacturing, remains remarkably vibrant."

The increase in employer's payrolls was nearly 100,000 more than expected by economists and came on top of a 298,000 increase in December.

"Sluggish (corporate) earnings and weak growth in the rest of the world should eventually temper the U.S. economy." said economist Gerald D. Cohen of Merrill Lynch. "However, that is not yet evident."

The report, along with private reports on auto and retail chain sales and manufacturing activity, shows the U.S. economy last month had considerable momentum after growing the final three months of 1998 at the fastest rate in 2 1/2 years.

It raises questions about how much longer the Federal Reserve can resist raising short-term interest rates. At Fed policy-makers' most recent meeting this week, they decided to hold rates unchanged.

But Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan expressed concern that labor shortages would propel wage increases, which in turn would drive up inflation.

But, Labor Secretary Alexis Herman said she wasn't worried about a rate increase.

"There are no signs of inflation...Productivity is in line with real wage gains. That's exactly the kind of balance you want to see." she said.

Friday's report showed the average hourly wages of nonsupervisory workers raising 6 cents in January to $13.04. It was the largest monthly increase since August. Over the year, hourly earnings have increased 50 cents, or 4 percent.

In a separate report, the Federal Reserve said consumer borrowing advanced at a strong 6.9 percent annual rate in December, to $1.34 trillion. The gain was led by auto loans, up at 15.9 percent rate, the fastest in a year.

During the Clinton years in the White House our economy flourished, people were working, the stock market was booming, and gasoline was $1.23 per gallon.

And it was the leadership team of two great Americans, President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Clinton. And for all the nay sayers read the article below found on the same business section as above.

Recognized: Clinton lauds microenterprises

WASHINTON - President Clinton and the first lady are recognizing outstanding "microenterprises" and urging Congress to increase technical and training assistance to such small entrepreneurs. At a White House ceremony Friday honoring six sucessful microbusinesses, Clinton was highlighting a 159 percent increase for microenterprise in his fiscal 2000 budget. Microenterprises typically are businesses that employ five or fewer people and need less than $25,000 in credit to get up and running.

Under the leadership of the Clinton Presidency the economy was booming and those were good times for America. It will take a Clinton to undo the damage of George W. Bush. Hillary Clinton has the experience and the solutions to get America back on track. Senator Hillary Clinton needs to be our nominee for President.

Clean Up In Center Aisle......Clean Up In Center Aisle...

After the first president George H. Bush, it took a Clinton to bring our American economy back from a recession to a time of prosperity. Now, after 8 years of suffering, two terms of the second Bush, George W. Bush, It will take a Clinton to clean up this mess and to bring our country back. Senator Hillary Clinton has the leadership to clean up and bring both sides of the aisle together for the common good of solving America's problems. And We need Senator Hillary Clinton to be our next President.

Hillary Clinton Is Still My Candidate, And I Support Her More Than Ever...

Senator Hillary Clinton is still our best choice as Nominee for President if the Democrats even hope to have a chance to win in November. Senator Hillary Clinton's big Win in West Virgina this late in the primary season should speak volumes, if the DNC would only listen...I worked on Senator Hillary Clinton's campaign in Pennsyvania, and I'm glad I did. When I was in Pennsylvania people were very excited about Senator Hillary Clinton and the support for her was overwhelming. Even when I was driving through Pennsyvania and Ohio, people would see my Hillary Clinton sign in the back of my truck and smile, wave, and give the thumbs up. If the DNC thinks it's going to appoint Senator Barack Obama our nominee without looking at all the facts, like the Supreme Court appointed George W. Bush to be president. You'd better think hard and fast about what you really want to accomplish here. Because I guarantee you with all the dirty tricks we have seen so far in this Democratic Primary process, there will be a backlash. A backlash that spells defeat in November.

Hypocity At It's Finest, Obama in Michigan...More Stunts...

About Senator Barack Obama's visit to Michigan today, All I can say is how Hypocritical. No one has fought harder (other than Howard Dean) to stop Michigan's votes from being counted, and our delegates from being duly seated than Senator Barack Obama....In fact, Senator Obama did not even respect the voters of Michigan enough to have his name on our ballot. It was Senator Obama who chose to have his name removed and instructed his supporters to vote uncommitted... Now, after Senator Obama's stunning loss in the West Virgina primary to Senator Hillary Clinton by whopping 67 percent this late in the primary season...It's time for another distraction from Senator Obama's campaign, another stunt and spectacle to detract from the news cycle of Hillary Clinton's Big Win...Every time Obama faulters, the party elitist who have invested a lot of cash in Obama's campaign with a growing list of favors and promises of appointed positions, pull out another endorsement, not to unite the party but to influence voters and to get their way at all costs. The timing of these endorsement is a disrespect to all the voters in West Virgina and should be an insult to all democrats who are sick and tired of these manipulative moves by elitist in the democratic party ....Something else noteworthy about Senator Barack Obama's visit to Michigan is the fact that Senator Obama did not visit the inner city where Obama's African American base is....Obama ignored those areas, maybe because those people are not important to Obama right now; instead Senator Barack Obama visited Macomb County, an upscale mostly white community and rich well to do suburb of Detroit and Grand Rapids where Obama once again detracted from his weakness as a candidate by pulling John Edwards out of a hat. Senator Obama is like traveling circus with lots of smoking mirrors, magic tricks, and shell games. But, without the support of the voters of Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virgina, and other key states, the facts remain that all of these theatrics will mean little in November.

Senator Barack Obama can't stand on his own Two feet without help, whether it's Oprah Winfrey, Senator Bob Casey Jr., or now Senator John Edwards...Every time Senator Hillary Clinton gets a big win or a controversy pops up surrounding Senator Obama, It's endorsement time again for Obama...That does not even make any sense....After a landslide victory by Senator Hillary Clinton in West Virgina, winning by 67% percent, Now Senator John Edwards comes out as a spoiler....What a bunch of sorry, pitiful game playing by far too many democrats who try to manipulate the primary process; instead of letting the voters decide on the candidates based upon their own merits...What a sad day for the democratic party...This is not the democratic party which I have supported for so many years....It's all about deal cutting politicans...Shame on Senator John Edwards, I thought that he was above this, Apparently Senator John Edwards is just another politician. It's a real shame.

Senator Barack Obama is Not the shepherd of the Democratic Base, And We Are Not Obama's or the DNC Elite's Sheep!

I could care less what Senator Edward Kennedy or former President Jimmy Carter think. I have not been very impressed with their bullying attitudes during this Democratic Presidential Primary. I feel the same way about the other sell-outs who are trying to herd our party's decision for the presidential nominee like we all are a bunch of mindless sheep. I see a lot of prideful democrats, (who I once respected) acting like this presidential primary is nothing more than a high school popularity contest; trying to make the rich kid, the quarterback. But try as you may it spells a defeat in November if Obama were the nominee. In this Democratic Party I would like to see something that we havent seen in a very long time, Democratic Leadership, the two words seem to be in conflict of each other lately. Senator Hillary Clinton is the only candidate who can beat Senator John McCain in the General Election because Senator Clinton has the support of the heart of the Democratic Party (the working class). All these voter registration drives, don't mean much....Because a lot of these first time voters are not reliable and do not maintain voter longevity; just like a lot of young voters, they get distracted and move on to something else; unlike the reliability of our democratic working class vote, who overwhemingly support Senator Hillary Clinton. We are sick and tired of those in the party who have snubbed and slighted not only Senator Clinton, but us as well. I've never seen so much arrogance, egotism, and pridefulness in the democratic party in all the time I've been a democrat and it is shameful. There is sayings that these democratic elitist should take to heart, that being that Pride comes before the Fall, if the democratic party continues on it's ill fated course of snubbing the working class and trying to shove Obama down our throats, then Senator John McCain will be elected President in November.

Obama is not a Uniter, Obama is a Divider, And Obama is in this election for Obama....

Senator Barack Obama has greatly divided our democratic party....And I really believe the only thing coming in November if Obama is given the nomination is Senator John McCain being elected president. I would not support a Barack Obama nomination, no matter who the VP would be....In my view Senator Obama is in this election for one person, Senator Obama and his big ego; And I am sad to have to say that.. Whoever the Democratic Party choses as a nominee, that person needs to be a strong leader, and regretably Senator Barack Obama does not fit that bill. We do not need someone to give us feel good speeches with no solutions. Our nominee for president needs to be a real commander in chief. In my opinion, Obama does not posess the kind of leadership needed to address the problems Americans face. When a world crisis or God Forbid another attack on America might occur; Senator Barack Obama would not have the option to walk off the stage or run and hide from the Debate at hand. Life and Death decisions would need to be made right there and then. And our enemies would not care about Barack Obama's speeches and his oratory skills would not solve a crisis. I believe Senator Obama jumped the gun on running for president. He is not ready. When things do not go as scripted, Senator Obama seems to get easily flustered, stutters and appears weak. The Republicans can see this, just as America's enemies also can see this. There is a daunting decision the democratic party needs to make. And the futures of all Americans hang in the balance.

Shroud of Secrecy and Delays in Voting Returns From Indiana's Lake County, Disturbing....

Watching Indiana's Primary Returns as the night went on and on, with no results from Indiana's Lake County was reminiscent of the counting in Florida during the 2000 Presidential General Election between George W. Bush and Al Gore....Lake County in Indiana is a county which borders Senator Barack Obama's Chicago neighborhood; and the northern part of Lake County, including Gary Indiana, are outspoken supporters of Obama, Including Gary Indiana's Mayor. What amazes me the most is that every other large county in Indiana starting reporting vote totals after the polls closed, all except Lake County. In fact, after the polls closed Lake County reported 0% vote returns for nearly six hours without an explaination, despite the fact that surrounding cities in Lake County had submitted their vote totals to Lake County as early as 7:30 PM after the polls were closed. WHY?, were no vote totals being given from this (Obama) favoring county in Indiana? Why? Senator Hillary Clinton had a significant lead in the state after the polls had closed....My question is were the delays in Lake County's vote returns an attempt to distort or diminish the margin of Senator Hillary Clinton's win in Indiana? Politicians don't like to suggest the possibility of wrong doing or questionable activity, but it is my understanding that there had been voting improprities with this particular county in past elections. There were a record number of absentee ballots in Lake County....How many dead people voted ?....I think there should be an investigation into what actually was going on in Lake County after the polls closed and why were those results were not reported for nearly six hours...

Senator Barack Obama does not Represent our American Values...

First of all, Senator Barack Obama, apparently does not believe in a representative government; Because Senator Barack Obama has done everything in his power to suppress and stop the votes and the delegetes of Michigan and Florida from being duly seated or Represented...It was Senator Barack Obama who refused to put his name on Michigan's ballot, yet encouraged his supporters to vote uncommitted. Now Senator Obama wants to either silence the votes of Michigan or be ENTITLED to votes and delegates Senator Hillary Clinton won fairly. It's Obvious, Senator Obama does not believe in a representative government of All of the people, of All 50 States of the Union... Secondly, Junior Senator Barack Obama, time and time again, has failed in standing up for his country.......Senator Barack Obama's past actions of attending an Anti-American church for 20 years; speak far louder than his recent words of trying to clean up the Rev. Wright mess and now claiming all of a sudden how Patriotic (Obama) says he is......Obama's actions speak (volumes) louder than his empty words....It's just like the Flag pin, which a veteran had given to Obama to wear: Obama put it on long enough for a photo opportunity and then discarded it, saying it was probably made in China anyway.....What an insult to that veteran who gave him that flag pin..... Junior Senator Obama does not stand up for what America is.......Not for our values, not for what we believe in.

Not The United 48 States of America.....Michigan and Florida Delegates Must Be Seated...

We are not the United Forty Eight (48) States of America; We are the United States of America....A country of 50 States,....All Equal. And when the people of Michigan and Florida cast our ballots and voted in our Democratic Presidential Primaries; We did not cast a half vote....We cast a whole vote for our candidates....And as American citizens our whole vote should count.....It's called Democracy.....In the Pledge of Allegiance are the words," and for the country for which it stands with Liberty and Justice For All".....Give Michigan and Florida voters their Liberty, and their Justice....Count All the votes and duly seat All our delegates.....This is the United States of America....And All Fifty States need to be heard....Not half heard, but heard in the way we voted....

Still No Apology From Rev. Wright Regarding 9-11 Remarks....

I watched the Rev. Wright's speech on CNN as he spoke to the Detroit NAACP Dinner. In my view, it was a very well prepared and entertaining speech by a very un-american and racist individual....Tonight Rev. Wright was wearing his sheeps clothing and trying to attempt major damage control for Senator Barack Obama Campaign. It's not what was said in Rev. Wright's speech tonight, so much as what was Not Said in Wright's speech; there were No Apologies made for his remarks regarding 9-11. For anyone who would even suggest that the U.S. got what it deserved on 9-11 or that it was America's fault for the attack is a sorry excuse, that's all I can say....It is a supreme insult to all those brave police officers, firefighters, and all of those who perished on 9-11, for Rev. Wright to have never once apologized for his Anti-American remarks regarding what happened to our country on that horrible day on September 11, 2001....Rev. Wright is obviously unrepentant....And Rev. Wright is Still Very, Very, Wrong. The type of CHANGE Rev. Wright wants for America is not the right CHANGE for America.... We Are a Land of Patriotism, and We Need A Leader Who Will Stand Up For America....And for Rev. Wright's information, It is God Bless America......

Junior Senator Obama, unable to face controversy....

Every time controversy flies surrounding "Junior" Senator Barack Obama. Instead of standing up like a leader and addressing those contoversies. It's like a side show from Senator Barack Obama's campaign, and it's endorsement time again. This is a repeated tactic to detract from the legitimate issues being raised. Excuse me, But these endorsements popping up every time Senator Obama gets his backside in the wringer, really lowers my expectations of the democratic party. It reminds me of flies buzzing around a manure pile and that's about how much validity those endorsements carry with me being a life long democrat....
