Yes, you read the title correctly.

John Mc Cain put Palin on his ticket because she is a woman who he believes will gain votes from other women simply because she is a woman. That is a insult and a slap in the face to  all women. He did not put her on the ticket because she was Governor of "Low Populated" Alaska . He did not put her on the ticket because she would be able to step in as Commander in Chief if he were to pass away or become mentally unfit to carry out his term which is more likely to happen than not. He put her on the ticket because she is a woman. Pundits call this a gamble for a reason. It can , and I believe will , cause a major backlash because Americas women are not stupid.

By Hollywood Today at 9:30 am EDT (Updated Today at 9:30 am EDT) Also will mention again - this person wants to drill our way out of the energy crisis. Not because she actually believes we can, but because her fellow Alaskans will get a $1200 check every year if we try. If that's not corrupt, I don't know what is

My reply is:

Its not corrupt - corrupt is letting the corporations keep all of the money.  Something the people of Alaska were smart enough to prevent.  They are a shining example for the rest of the nation on that one

Hollywood's reply:

By Hollywood 36 minutes ago (Updated 36 minutes ago) the money.Only Alaska residents.  And it's federal land. The state doesn't own it.  Of course, the state should get revenues. But there are 700,000 people in Alaska. Meanwhile, the other 230 million Americans continue paying high prices at the pump

My reply:

Hollywood, I really have to disagree.  The people had the oil industry over their own barrel and made them cut a deal.  The other 300 million of us should make them cut the same deal.

Federal land???  You mean citizen owned land.

The federal government gives the corporations the mineral rights.  The tax payers fund and/or guarrantee their loans - and since the money ultimately comes from the federal reserve we pay for it all and the bankers get the interest that we should be getting.Basically, doesn't cost the corporations one cent and they get all of the profits while we pay higher taxes and absorb the resulting inflation.

The other 300 million of us really do have to wake up..

Today we were handed a gift by John McCain. that is that he choose to be his VP: Sara Palin. I was so amazed that he would do something that stupid that I had to turn on three different channels and the read it on the Internet this morning to believe it. MSNBC has been nice to her while CNN has Passively ripped her. I thought he would make a dumb choice by picking Pawlenty, but this by far exceeds any expectations I had about the stupidity someone can have in this big of a decision in politics. I predict that she could be the worst choice for VP ever.

Why do I feel this way ? She's like Ann Culter, Dan Quayle and Ted Stevens rolled into one. first off she will get owned by Joe Biden in a debate, It could be worse than Quayle-Benson, next she is an EXTREME right whinger, then there is the fact that she could be Indicted for her ties to the corrupt Ted Stevens and/ or the Illigit firing of her ex-brother-in-law (which I don't blame her for, but none the less is a possible count for indictment). She brings nothing as far as geography goes (3 Electoral Votes that were Leaning McCain anyway) and she forces him to give up his biggest argument (experience). She has been governor of the most corrupt political state in the nation for only one and a half years. and as if that was not enough there is something much bigger, about McCain. He is wiling to sacrifice his first (and hopefully last) executive decision in a hollow attempt to "Out Minority" Obama. I think it is more sick than anything we have seen through this entire campaign, and we have seen some pretty sick things.

and I am not sexist when it comes to politics (or anything else for that matter), Part of me was rooting for Obama to pick a dark horse in Barbra Boxer (but she would have problems appealing to Independents). I have a list of five people I want to see as Majority leader in 2009 two of whom are women, and if you attack Sara Palin because of her sex I will fight you with the same passion I did when I saw people play the Race card in the primaries.

so in short she was an incredibly stupid choice, but when you attack her, attack her on substance and not on sex or because of her last son.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA !

Did you guys just see that Joke of a Rally  ?

John Mc Cain could kill over in his presidency let along tomorrow , and the Republicans honestly think THIS one right here can step in and govern ?

And they talk about Barack Obama not being experienced enough to govern ? That killed that argument right there.

I'm gonna look forward to this one. Hillary Rodham Clinton herself , is gonna look forward to going after this one . She's gonna tear her butt apart.

They could be twins:

The standard should be no different for industry. Ironically, we're trying to convince the rest of the nation to open ANWR, but we can't even get our own Pt. Thomson, which is right on the edge of ANWR, developed! We are ready for that gas to be tapped so we can fill a natural gas pipeline. I promise to vigorously defend Alaska's rights, as resource owners, to develop and receive appropriate value for our resources.

TADA THERE IT GOES on Aug. 27th approved TransCanada Corp., the nation's largest pipeline company, won approval from Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to build a $27 billion pipeline to carry natural gas from the Arctic to U.S. markets.
Palin on Aug. 27 signed a bill authorizing the state to award Calgary-based TransCanada a license to build the 1,715- mile (2,744-kilometer) link from Prudhoe Bay to the Alberta Hub in Canada, according to a statement. The license will be granted in 90 days. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601082&sid=acNe2vW46POk&refer=canada

Because economic theory is built upon the principle of scarcity and though there may be a glut of something it is still considered "scarce" if it is also desirable.

Say for instance, new cars at a dealership. They aren't scarce but they are expensive because they are desirable

But the real answer to your question is that the federal reserve, the world bank, and the international monetary fund loan money to governments based on their promise to continue taxing their citizens.

What other guarrantee is there to back up fiat money?

Sarah Palin appears to be be a good choice in terms of ber background and personal life..

The debates will both feature youth and vigor vs less youthful and supposedly less vigorous candidates.

It is undoubtedly a desperate gamble by the McCain campaign - but what other choice do they really have other than to gamble.

This vignette touched my heart, because it has such relevant symbolism.

In the clips last night, Michelle Obama spoke of finally giving in to Barack's request for a date. She had been refusing his advances because she was very proper in the top law firm of Sidley & Austin, where she was a full fledged attorney and Barack was just a summer intern. Barack surprised Michelle when he took her, not to a fancy restaurant, but  to a church basement where he gave a speech to steelworkers who were laid off when the local steel mill closed.

Michelle said Barack riveted everyone in the basement with a magnificent speech about how America actually was, and how America should be.

The clip showed a picture of the burly white steelworkers raptly listening to the young African American orator, demonstrating that the races were cooperating even back then.

I grew up in the same neighborhood as Michelle Robinson Obama, actually in between her house  and Rev. Wright's church. I personally knew many of the steelworkers who forever lost high paying jobs to the slave labor wages of Indian and Chinese steelmills, and feel quite strongly about fair trade instead of free trade.

Those hard working men never, ever got jobs with pay remotely near what they earned in the mill, for very hard work.

Micehlle felt the same thing I did, and said that speech in the church basement made it all over, the end! She was in love with Barack.

A symbolic lesson for us all, united.

Sarah Heath Palin (born February 11, 1964) is the current Governor of Alaska, and a member of the Republican Party. She is the youngest and first female governor of Alaska. Brought to statewide attention because of her whistleblowing on ethical violations by state Republican Party leaders,[1] she won election in 2006 by first defeating the incumbent governor in the Republican primary, then a former Democratic Alaskan governor in the general election. On August 29, the Associated Press reported that "speculation [has] moved to [Palin as a] darkhorse" pick for the vice president running mate slot by presumptive Republican nominee John McCain.[2] The CNBC news service is now reporting that Palin will in fact be the GOP vice-presidential nominee

Thanks to the bush administration we now understand that the funding of vitally needed social programs is not a problem.

We can simply print the money we need.

The republicans will surely scream about this but if they can freely spend fiat currency for what they want then we certainly can as well,
