Boycott 2008 Beijing Olympics
About the Author
This summer, President George W. Bush will smile while jaunting up the stairs to Air Force One - his laughable presidency all but over - with not a care in the world. For 13 hours, he'll lie on a couch in the airplane, drink pomegranate-flavored water and watch reruns of Texas Rangers games from the glory days of Nolan Ryan and Jose Canseco. Eventually, he'll land in Beijing, China, for the 2008 Summer Olympics. He'll pose and smile for photos with great Chinese leaders. You'll definitely read about it in the newspaper, and so will people just like you all over the world; and you'll probably feel pretty good when you do. Like a bottle of cheap gin the whole globe can pass around, the Olympics somehow make it okay to forget for a little while. This is helpful for most of us, but somewhat unfortunate for the Tibetan people, whose struggle against occupation has gone on for nearly 60 years. In 1951, the Chinese government annexed Tibet and declared it part of China. In 1959, an uprising resulted in the expulsion of the Dalai Lama; since that time he has run a "government in exile" based in India and become a martyr for global political rights. On March 10, in honor of the 49th anniversary of China's great experiment in the abuse of state sovereignty, Tibetan monks began to protest en masse the continued demonization of the Dalai Lama and China's efforts to ethnically cleanse Tibetans. China, for its part, pledged to "resolutely crush" those people. Within days, it launched a fresh military campaign in the region. It kicked out journalists and declared no quarter on religious figures. Anyway, a generation later, as a reward for Chinese progress and a concession that China has established itself as a modern global player, it gets to host the Olympics! Irony in such high doses should be fatal.

This is very alarming. Reguardless of who you support or what you want. Anyone who has ever been involved in a civil rights demonstration sometimes you do not have to do anything wrong to be one of those who get hauled in with a group who was acting up. Correct me if I am wrong.... this has never happened before.

Spray-On Condoms: Still a Hard Sell Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008 By CALLIE LEFEVRE Spray-on condoms Tyne News / WENN Edison had his lightbulb, Ford had his Model T, and Jan Vinzenz Krause has his spray-on condom. Inspired by the mechanics of a drive-through car wash, the German sexual-health educator designed a custom-fitting male contraceptive using liquid latex and some materials from a hardware store. Our campaign has successfully united for CHANGE on BARACKOBAMA.COM and other Democratic websites.

The grass roots efforts are expanding all across AMERICA.  As we increase our attention to GOTV, Hosting and attending events and phonebanking, the attacks on our nominee  have intensified. The intent is to distract and disrupt.

This tactic will not survive our unified decision to ignore. No Response, No Debate....Ignore.

Ok I am wondering if you could lay out the rules of PB and what standards you must hit to be banned. In the past it has always been a question as to what are the rules and what will and will not get someone banned. Vague statments like "anything used by the gop will not be tolerated" is not good enough. One could argue anyone who does not agree with Obama and his stance on lets pick.... um energy and they say they do not agree then that leaves them open for someone to say that is a gop thing. So please can you lay out some rules???

Oh and another question and I mean no harm but only asking. How many pro Obama people have been banned for their insults? Also what of those dems who have worked hard to elect dems in other areas of goverment.... are they no longer needed here?
Why can people be banned for speaking about Obama but other dems can be slammed?

T. Boone Pickens is spending more than $30 million on television ads promoting his plan for alternative energy. A major part of his plan consists of a giant wind farm of windmill electric generators stretching from the Canadian border to the Southern border of Texas.

The idential plan was posted and publicized on the Democratic Presidential Campaign website of R. Frank Lynch on July 20, 2007. See http://www.franklynch.org/greencities_part2.htm

R. Frank (the Futurist) Lynch continues to post his campaign website with its Top Ten List so that other leaders will continue to adopt his ideas to lift every American a hundred years into the future in only eight years.

Several of Frank the Futurist's ideas have already been adopted by Barack Obama (Free College and Universal Healthcare and talking with every leader in the Middle East), John McCain (Contest for better electric car batteries that will make America the automotive leader) and now T. Boone Pickens (the border to border windfarm for renewable carbon free electricity for the USA).

Even the nationwide newspaper insert Parade Magazine commented on August 10, 2008 that "Some are advocating year round school" which is another of Frank the Futurist's Top Ten List.

Clearly, America has a new ideological leader.

Everyone is invited to continue adopting ideas from Frank the Futurist at http://www.franklynch.org

Let us all, regardless of party affiliation, use Frank Lynch's Top Ten List to bring true equality to all Americans and Heal the Planet.

As some may know, we have a group of bloggers on the Obama site.  We are really making a difference there.

Protect a woman's right to chose in America!

On that creepy/CRAZY "Focus on Family" website I saw this, and it made my blood curdle.

"COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. " Pro-life initiative Measure 11 offers South Dakota voters an opportunity to stand in defense of preborn human life during the November election, and carries the endorsement of Focus on the Family Action in conjunction with the South Dakota Family Policy Council.

Both groups are urging South Dakota voters to vote “yes” on Measure 11, which would prohibit abortion except in cases of rape or incest, or when the life or health of the mother is endangered by the continued pregnancy.

“South Dakota continues to be a driving force in efforts to protect women and the preborn from abortion. Focus on the Family Action is pleased to lend its support to this important ballot effort that will result in saving the lives of preborn children,” said Tom Minnery, senior vice president of Government and Public Policy for the organization.

“South Dakotans know the value of human life and the deep threats against it,” South Dakota Family Policy Council President Chris Hupke said. “Our organization pledges to come alongside this historic effort and the state’s voters to help ensure a November victory for Measure 11.”

South Dakota, please say NO, to Pro-life initiative Measure 11!

Focus on the Family is one hellfire and brimstone of an organization, how can anyone worry about Obama, with nuts like that supporting McCain?
It's time for the Republican administration, and the International Olympic Committee to give China an ultimatum.

Reinstate the visas of all athlete's, or CANCEL the 2008 Olympic Games due to prohibited political intervention by the host nation.

China was warned to not interfere with the games. Yet, they restricted the freedom of the international press, until they were given a final ultimatum by the IOC.

Now, China is revoking visas of any athlete who has any outspoken political views on Civil Rights, either in China, or their allies in the Sudan.

From: Heather Smith, Rock the VoteDear Rock the Vote staff,I was outraged when I found out the other day that the Department of Veterans Affairs has forbidden voter registration drives in its hospitals, rehab centers and other facilities.

This ban hurts thousands of young veterans who have been injured while fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. We should be helping our veterans register and vote, not making it more difficult.

Last week, the Senate introduced a bill to overturn the ban and allow states to require V.A. hospitals to offer voter registration to their clients.

Will you join me and ask your Senator to co-sponsor the “Veteran Voting Support Act”?

Banning the most basic act of democracy from Americans who have fought for our democracy just doesn’t make any sense.  We need to stand up for our veterans--especially for the thousands of young veterans who are eligible to vote in their first presidential election.

 Please contact your senators today.

  Sincerely,

H
