21 months ago we formed a “527” Pac to use as a vehicle to fund our organization and Progressive Issues and Candidates. We had a hope that there would be some large donors step forth to contribute towards the maintenance of our programs and sites. This has not happened. For that matter neither have the small donations. There have been a few but not enough to maintain an office and pay the bills.   Read More »

"Human progress never rolls in on wheels of inevitability; it comes through the tireless efforts of men willing to be co workers with God, and without this hard work, time itself becomes an ally of the forces of social stagnation. We must use time creatively, in the knowledge that the time is always ripe to do right. Now is the time to make real the promise of democray and transform our pending national elegy into a creative psalm of brotherhood. Now is the time to lift our national policy from the quicksand of racial injustice to the solid rock of human dignity." http://www.africa.upenn.edu/Articles_Gen/Letter_Birmingham.html

Even though it probably won't happen, in a way I wish there was a re-vote in Florida and Michigan with only Clinton and Obama on the ballot. Lets see how much support both candidates really have at this point knowing Giuliani and Edwards are out of the race and see if Clinton beats Obama by narrower or even larger margins. Does anyone really think at this point Obama would lose either primary by more than 15%?

The following article gives an introspective look into the influence of ideologue Saul Alinsky upon Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, with a focus on how Alinsky infuenced Clinton's drive to work 'inside' the political process. Some of you might find this useful reading.

Since this has been the buzz in emails I just thought I would take this opportunity to post a link since I'm sure most of you have heard this already. There has been a lot of talk here about republicans crossing over to vote Obama, but this is the other side of that coin.

"If I had been president in October of 2002, I would not have started this war." This counterfactual elicited strong cheers from the audiences Clinton supporters, but was notable in that it was demonstrably wrong, not an apology for her pro-war vote, and irrelevant.
