Who's Side Do I Take ? My Candidate or My Senator ?
I'm torn. On the one hand , I see where my senator, Russell Feingold is coming from , but I also see where my candidate, Barack Obama is coming from. Now, this is not about which one I agree with the most or who I trust on the issues the most because the truth is, I agree with them both the exact same. Neither has been perfect. I mean, Russ voted for Chief Justice Roberts and Obama didn't. But Obama is helping to pay off Hillarys debt soooo....
Like I said, neither of these two are perfect and even Sen. Russ Feingold pretty much admitted that he sort of understood where Sen. Barack Obama and others were coming from in an interview with the Young Turks. Feingold said that basically , the argument may be that we should just compromise now, and wait till we have a Democratic President and let him fix it rather than have this fight.
Feingold stated that he thought the approach was wrong even though he expressed that understood it. At the same time, what Barack Obama is saying is that this compromise , even though it doesn't go far enough in that it still grants immunity to Telecom , at the very least , outs and end to some of the worst provisions that had allowed Bush to break the Law.
I personaly am going to withold judgement untill I watch CSpan later today and see what both my senator and my candidate do and what all transpires because as of now, no votes have been taken on this bill, only lots of speculation. But part of me is with Sen. Russ Feingold and part of me understands where Sen. Barack Obama is coming from.

If John Mc Cain doesn’t want to be teased like this, then he’s really going to have to get a hold of his bearings because he is really tripping out on the Campaign Trail and making crazed and confused comments. This time, he is rambling off to the American people something about how under Barack Obama’s Tax Plan , “every single working man and woman from all walks of life and all pay brackets, will see an increase in their Taxes”. I mean, that’s just crazy talk.
I don’t know where Mc Cain is getting these strange thoughts that make him say things that are not true, but Barack Obama will not raise taxes on Middle and Working Class Americans. Under Obama’s Tax Plan, 95 % of the American work force will see absolutely NO TAX INCREASE. Not only that, but those who make fewer than $200,000.00 will see a TAX BREAK and it will be bigger than what Mc Cain is offering. Well, what he’s offering this week, that is. We don’t know if he will change his mind. It sort of depends on what audience he is in front of.
Another thing that John Mc Cain is confused about is GITMO; or maybe I’m just confused about his position. John Mc Cain went livid and flipped out at the Supreme Court because of their decision regarding the detainees at GITMO. Mc Cain was rambling on about how horrible this was and how “they don’t deserve to be treated like American citizens. They are enemy combatants. They are trying to kill us”. But, here’s the thing. Mc Cain, citing the “torture” or “treatment” that the detainees were getting that violated the Geneva Convention, has stated that he wanted to close GITMO.
Now, I am wondering why he wants to close GITMO if his attitude towards the detainees is “they are our enemy, they want to kill us, and they are terrorists”. If he closes GITMO, what would be the reason for it? To save Americas face globally because we were caught torturing? And what does he plan to do with the detainees? Ship them off to another country and put them in Secret Prisons where they will be tortured in another nations name instead of ours so it won’t be on our conscience?

Here are some of the details from the Wisconsin poll ~ it's all good news for Obama and the Dems:
Wisconsin was a key battleground in the presidential contests of 2000 and 2004 and saw extraordinarily tight contests in both years. Al Gore beat George W. Bush by 5,708 votes (0.2 percent) in 2000, and John Kerry bested Bush by 11,384 votes in 2004 (0.38 percent). Goldstein points out, "In both 2000 and 2004, party attachments in the state were virtually identical with equal numbers of voters identifying with the Democrats and the GOP. One of the striking results in this poll and consistent with other survey work I have done in the state, the Democrats now enjoy a major advantage in party identification." In the study, 38 percent of probable voters identified with the Democrats and 24 percent with Republicans.
Obama has very strong favorable ratings with 64 percent of Wisconsin probable voters saying they have a favorable opinion and 32 percent having an unfavorable opinion. McCain also has relatively strong favorables, too, at 53 percent to 44 percent. Obama is seen as the candidate to bring about change (70 percent to McCain’s 42 percent) while McCain is seen as the experienced candidate (84 percent to Obama’s 43 percent). Still, as the evidence shows, McCain faces a stiff headwind in Wisconsin
Party polarization is a striking feature of Wisconsin opinion at this time with 87 percent of Democrats and 89 percent of Republicans saying they would vote for their party’s nominee if the election were held today. "For all the talk about a new politics, the electorate is sharply split,’’ said Franklin. Among independents, Obama holds a nine-point lead, 46 percent to 37 percent for McCain with 17 percent undecided.

Even though Barack Obama now beats Mc Cain with the women vote 51 % to I think 28 ? ....I'm still disturbed by something I found out about the women who are actually supporting John Mc Cain.
50% of the PRO-CHOICE women supporting John Mc Cain are unaware of his position on Womens Rights.

The Brody File has learned that in the next two weeks Barack Obama's campaign will unveil a major new program to attract younger Evangelicals and Catholics to their campaign.
It's called the "Joshua Generation Project." The name is based on the biblical story of how Joshua's generation led the Israelites into the Promised Land.
A source close to the Obama campaign tells The Brody File the following:
"The Joshua Generation project will be the Obama campaign's outreach to young people of faith. There's unprecedented energy and excitement for Obama among young evangelicals and Catholics. The Joshua Generation project will tap into that excitement and provide young people of faith opportunities to stand up for their values and move the campaign forward."

Barack just concluded an economic policy speech in Raleigh, North Carolina. The speech marks the kick-off of a two week tour focusing on the current economic crisis and the need for new economic policy:
You don’t have to read the stock tickers or scan the headlines in the financial section to understand the seriousness of the situation we’re in right now. You just have to go to Pennsylvania and listen to the man who lost his job but can’t even afford the gas to drive around and look for a new one. Or listen to the woman from Iowa who works the night shift after a full day of class and still can’t pay the medical bills for a sister who’s ill. Or talk to the worker I met in Indiana who worked at the same plant his father worked at for thirty years until they moved it to Mexico and made the workers actually pack up the equipment themselves so they could send it to China.
... We did not arrive at the doorstep of our current economic crisis by some accident of history. This was not an inevitable part of the business cycle that was beyond our power to avoid. It was the logical conclusion of a tired and misguided philosophy that has dominated Washington for far too long.
Also on hand for the speech were John and Elizabeth Edwards:

Over the weekend Obama and his wife showed up at some event and engaged in a ritual which has caused the Right Wing Community to go positively apoplectic…they “fist bumped.”

Fox News called it a “terrorist fist jab.” This dude says it shows he’s a gangster and a thug. This guy says the fist bump shows he’s a “long legged pimp.” Then there’s just the outright mockery.
If all of this is true then what explains this picture? How come this wasn’t decried as the “terrorist act of a long-legged pimp?”

Hint: The guy they’re calling a terrorist is black.
FINALLY! HE TAKES ON THE MC BUSH BOT

SNIP:
Furthermore, during a Senate vote Wednesday, Obama dragged Lieberman by the hand to a far corner of the Senate chamber and engaged in what appeared to reporters in the gallery as an intense, three-minute conversation.
While it was unclear what the two were discussing, the body language suggested that Obama was trying to convince Lieberman of something and his stance appeared slightly intimidating.
Using forceful, but not angry, hand gestures, Obama literally backed up Lieberman against the wall, leaned in very close at times, and appeared to be trying to dominate the conversation, as the two talked over each other in a few instances.
Still, Obama and Lieberman seemed to be trying to keep the back-and-forth congenial as they both patted each other on the back during and after the exchange.
Afterwards, Obama smiled and pointed up at reporters peering over the edge of the press gallery for a better glimpse of their interaction.
Obama loyalists were quick to express their frustration with Lieberman's decision and warned that if he continues to take a lead role in attacking Obama it could complicate his professional relationship with the Caucus.

1. A vision for America that takes us forward in a positive direction by giving tax breaks to Middle and Working Class Americans and providing us with affordable Health Care , ridding Washington of Lobbyists influence and holding big companies accountable to their employees.
2. The judgement to defend America and protect our national sovereignty by securing our ports , upholding our constitutional rights , reducing our dependence on foreign oil , fighting the right wars and ending the wrong wars and using diplomacy as a means to bring peace as opposed to the cow boy politics that fuel anti- American sentiment.
Those are just TWO of the many qualifications that will make Barack Obama an effective President and Commander In Chief.

Bush Bites:
"Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along," said Bush, in what White House aides privately acknowledged was a reference to calls by Obama and other Democrats for the U.S. president to sit down for talks with leaders like Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
"We have heard this foolish delusion before," Bush said in remarks to the Israeli Knesset. "As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American Senator declared: 'Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is -- the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."
Obama Bites Back :
"It is sad that President Bush would use a speech to the Knesset on the 6Oth anniversary of Israel's independence to launch a false political attack. It is time to turn the page on eight years of policies that have strengthened Iran and failed to secure America or our ally Israel."Read More »
"Instead of tough talk and no action, we need to do what Kennedy, Nixon and Reagan did and use all elements of American power -- including tough, principled, and direct diplomacy -- to pressure countries like Iran and Syria. George Bush knows that I have never supported engagement with terrorists, and the President's extraordinary politicization of foreign policy and the politics of fear do nothing to secure the American people or our stalwart ally Israel."
FINALLY ! BREAKING NEWS !!!

Okay , I'm not trying to take away from Hills win tonight , but this is important. You know how there were several CONCERNED Democrats posting about the attack of the Republican Machine against Barack Obama this fall will be so great that he will lose in a landslide so don't vote for him?
Remember how the arguments were backed up with scary campaign ads against Democrats who publicly endorsed Barack Obama ? That one in Mississippi against Childers ? Here. REFRESH YOUR MEMORY. Those who posted these videos here on the DNC Party Builder claimed they were not doing it to slam Obama , but out of deep concern for Childers. Remember ? Well, I am here to relieve their fears.
It looks like the Republicans are the ones who should be afraid. Very afraid. Because of the voters in Mississippi with the funding and support of Progressives , CHILDERS beat the Republicans in their OWN TERRITORY ! Mike Huckabee said this is a VERY bad sign for Republicans in the Fall. Considering that ad was ineffective.
(THAT'S NOT ALL )
Progressives also delivered the Race in Nebraska to our friend Scott Kleeb . I'm looking forward to November.
