George Bush looks like he's on the Ed Sullivan show.
Just like my career, poster girl, great Democrat, and all around great American girl! Christie Brinkley! For those of you naysayers, I might be a poster girl, if fellow blogger, young Dine, has his dad take a poll in Iraq, that the troops need a poster girl, with a slight less snazz than Christie. We don't want to over occupy the thoughts of our troops!
The Stats
Christie has been to Democratic fundraisers, hosted them, too!
Is the mother of a music prodigy, Alexa Ray Joel, and horse lovers, son Jack, and daughter, Sailor!
A softie who won the Tough Cookie Award this year!
I think she is my latest girl crush!
Read More »As you all know my dad was deployed last Sunday to Iraq at 2:00 a.m. in the morning, I want to thank all here who have kept him along with the other troops in harms way in their prayers.
Prayer really works. I am not at liberty to disclose where in Iraq my dad is, but one thing I can say is where he is at there is a lot going on. He called at one in the morning Pacific standard time on Wednesday.
His third day in the field of honor and he was grazed in trhe face by shrapnel durring skirmish with Iraqui insurgents. Was treated in the field and returned to the to his job standing.
I thank the Great Spirit Grandfather for having protected him from losing his life, being that things could have been worse. Others are not that lucky. I thank alll for your prayers.
He still has many months to go in Iraq and hopefully he will be returning home safe and well before again getting redeployed.
I will be starting a support group here on PB for all PB members who have a loved one in harms way in that God forsaken land.
Our troops are the best there is and we need to fully support them at all times.
Their sacrifice is for us and our homeland. It is hoped that people really appreciate their sacrifice. They only follow orders and not to be blamed for their part in the belicose action. Please, do not let the history of Vietnam repeat it'self by blaming the troops and treating them like garbage on their return from the ongoing conflict.
Remind your legislators to insure they are properly taken care of upon their return. There is too much injustice already of misstreatment upon them having returned maimed physically and mentally.
T'a'a' iiyisi ahe'hee.

As you all probably very well know by now, John Edwards had an affair a couple of years ago while he was running for President and campaigned alongside John Kerry.
The oddest thing about it, when I heard about it, it never felt like big news. Not downsizing the effect it has on his family and the Democratic Party, and not excusing the affair either, it's just that, since Bill Clinton was president not too long ago, and we all remember how bad that went down, it just seems like regular news that a U.S. politician would do that. It seems so commonplace, and it is upsetting that it is. Personally, I can only hope that Elizabeth would have him sleep on the couch for a while and have them both attend marriage counseling, but then again, it isn't my business.
Why is the personal lives of our politicians so important as to why we view them like we do? We elect them to serve us, and yet, we expect them to sacrifice their humanity to be placed on the pedestal of perfection that comes with their title. Isn't more important to talk political about our politicians? Hell, we already know how sleazy they are and how it comes from their job environment. We already know that to be a modern-day politician means extramartial affairs are around the corner. But, Bill Clinton was a great President who did so much for the good of this country as a whole. John Edwards is a great politician who really practices what he preaches. Again, I am not trying to say I condone both their actions. All I'm saying is that politics is personal, but politics doesn't have to be personal, meaning politics is just regulating certain factors in our everyday lives that affect us. Our jobs, our cars, our schools, our hospitals, you get the picture; but politics doesn't have to be personal regarding the sometimes extreme fanfare we have for our candidates and politicians and what our politicians do after work.
Besides, whenever a Democratic politicians strays in any way, the Republican Party eats it right up. Notice how they still use Bill Clinton when rebutting in arguments of the many sins of the Bush Administration. I recall even on The View once Joy Behar was listing the then sins of George W. Bush ( 2006, the list has been made longer), and asked " why hasn't this guy been thrown out?" Loud applause. Sherri Shepard: " Yes, but he didn't sleep with an intern" Louder applause. Does a President have to sleep with an intern to be considered impeachable? I mean, seriously.
And don't get me started on the "morally correct" Republican Party's long list of politicians who have "strayed." Larry Craig anybody? Not implying that his sexuality is a sin, but the fact that he resorted to prostituion via Airport Terminal bathroom is strayed enough.
Anyway, I am not looking for verification of my thoughts, I am just venting. Feel free to comment.
The misfortune of human being, ( the celebrity oriented always say actor), Morgan freeman was my first edition. This is the followup. Morgan has left the hospital. He is free and out amongst us again!
The bad stats
Morgan broke his arm with elbow and had surgery for nerve endings
The spotlight chooses Morgan, not the other way around. Due to the interest in his life, Morgan has said he has been seperated from hiis wife a very long spell, and, yes, it is ending in divorce. Even the wiseest of us have problems.
The Good stats
He was in the successful picture, "Dark Knight". Although, like a lot of you I go long periods without seeing Morgan, photos show him very involved.
He owns a restaurant in Clarksdale, Mississippi and Memphis called "Ground Zero. a Blues club with southern cuisine!
He divides his time between his native Tennessee, his native Mississippi, and his adopted New York.
God bless, Mr. Morgan Freeman! A man who believes everyone is a regular American. Although, he is not officially involved in the campaign, he will vote our presumptive nominee, Sen Barack Obama.

Out of respect to the Dalai Lama and the oppressed people of Tibet, I am protesting the Olympic Games.
I respect the athletes brave enough to go to China and compete in the Games, representing their country well by doing the best they can. But the hosting country's actions speak otherwise to the goals and ideals of the reason for the Olympic Games.
The Olympics give us hope that we can put aside our problems as a world and recognize that we are all in this together. But China has too much problems to pull a Hallmark card presentation of these Games.
Therefore, I will not be watching the Olympic Games until China recognizes that Tibet has every right to be freed and a free country and that the Dalai Lama is respected and not shunned.
