Organized Labor
About the Author
Do you think workers deserve to be treated with dignity and respect at their job? When workers encounter injustice in their employment, do you think it is their right, if not their responsibility, to stand up to improve their own situation? Join us, Organized Labor, and let's recover dignity, respect, and justice for America's workforce.

This summer, President George W. Bush will smile while jaunting up the stairs to Air Force One - his laughable presidency all but over - with not a care in the world.

For 13 hours, he'll lie on a couch in the airplane, drink pomegranate-flavored water and watch reruns of Texas Rangers games from the glory days of Nolan Ryan and Jose Canseco

Eventually, he'll land in Beijing, China, for the 2008 Summer Olympics. He'll pose and smile for photos with great Chinese leaders.

You'll definitely read about it in the newspaper, and so will people just like you all over the world; and you'll probably feel pretty good when you do. Like a bottle of cheap gin the whole globe can pass around, the Olympics somehow make it okay to forget for a little while.

This is helpful for most of us, but somewhat unfortunate for the Tibetan people, whose struggle against occupation has gone on for nearly 60 years

In 1951, the Chinese government annexed Tibet and declared it part of China. In 1959, an uprising resulted in the expulsion of the Dalai Lama; since that time he has run a "government in exile" based in India and become a martyr for global political rights.

On March 10, in honor of the 49th anniversary of China's great experiment in the abuse of state sovereignty, Tibetan monks began to protest en masse the continued demonization of the Dalai Lama and China's efforts to ethnically cleanse Tibetans.

China, for its part, pledged to "resolutely crush" those people. Within days, it launched a fresh military campaign in the region. It kicked out journalists and declared no quarter on religious figures.

Anyway, a generation later, as a reward for Chinese progress and a concession that China has established itself as a modern global player, it gets to host the Olympics!

Irony in such high doses should be fatal.
Can you answer a few honest questions.

Do you feel deep down that Obama has a secret Afro Centrist Agenda?

Do you keep your true feelings on the matter in silence for fear of branding as a RACIST?

The theology of Black Liberation that was made so notoriously promoted by Racist leadership from the Black community is a type of cancer that is tearing out the entrails of American Society, many from the Black Community have denounced it along with Obama, is there still any reason for you to fear?

I know there is much distrust from the Hispanic Community in regard to supporting Obama because of poor race relations between them and Blacks, also a large amount of Native Americans. The trend has been to take the gamble with a white woman, they have supported and will not drop. It is difficult for many to really understand this. The Hispanic Community will not abandon Hillary, and she is now gaining more and more support from Native America.

One of the factors is the threat of violence from characters like Sharpton, and racists like Farakan, and the Maalik Shabaaz's of the Afro American respected community, whose contributions caused more division and distrust which is negative foir Obama,
The comments about Micheal's pride do not help much either nor the guilt by association.

Do you feel the same?

It is being reported that up to 100,000 people have died from the cyclone that hit Burma. Burma's brutal and corrupt military leaders failed to warn their people and they failed to evacuate areas in danger. Even though the rest of the world knew the storm was coming, the Burmese people didn't.

MoveOn.org has issued an urgent appeal to help the Burmese people. Please donate to a drive by Aavaz.org to raise money for the International Burmese Monks Organization and related groups, which will transmit funds directly to monasteries in affected areas.

Swing State Democrats Say Hillary Best For Top Of Ticket
5/9/2008
http://www.hillaryclinton.com/news/release/view/?id=7597

Over a dozen members of Congress wrote to other Democrats touting their support for Hillary, saying she is the strongest candidate to have at the top of the ticket in the fall.

The text of the letter is below.

Dear Fellow Democrat,

We are writing to you because of our shared belief in our Party’s principles and our commitment to ensuring that we have the strongest possible nominee to lead our ticket against John McCain and the Republicans in November.

The decision about who to support to be our Party’s nominee is not one that any of us should take lightly. We haven’t. But, after giving this important decision a great deal of thought, we are convinced that Hillary Clinton has the vision, skills and commitment to make the changes our country needs. As Democrats who have run and won in competitive Congressional districts and battleground states, we believe that Hillary is best positioned to successfully lead the Democratic ticket in districts and states like ours around the country.

As you know, Hillary has racked up victories in bellwether states like Ohio, Pennsylvania and now Indiana that are absolutely vital to winning the White House and maintaining our Congressional majority in the fall. Hillary has won the big battleground states by connecting with voters whose support we must have to win the general election. Her victories in Pennsylvania and Indiana were all the more impressive after being outspent by as much as two or three to one.

Pennsylvania was not just a victory for Hillary Clinton. It was also a wake- up call for superdelegates, forcing us to ask ourselves two essential questions: 1) Which candidate can carry the magic 270 electoral votes to win in the fall? 2) Which candidate is most likely to help our fellow Democrats in down-ballot races? We believe the answer to both of these questions is Hillary Clinton.   Read More »
Who runs the country?
Who elects the candidate's?
Makes you think and question what the Head Honcho of the Times must be smoking, does it not?
I find it offensive that what was considered by many a prestigious New's Source like the TIMES MAGAZINE would stoop so low down the gutter to intentionally decieve American voters.
Boycott the Times Magazine.
The voters elect candidates, not Media.
If they had done the same for Hillary, they would still not be Wright, Even if they were Wright, which they are not.
The ayers around the Times Dropping that type of Bomb on the public stinks of foul smoke that causes gagging.
Do you think they are Wright in doing such a foul thing?

Moving down the trail on a pleasant cheerful late afternoon I stumbled upon a large rock something hewn from the side of the cliff. There were many such rocks placed their by some careful hand all of them tugging at my inner spirit. It had been a good life filled with many clear and passionate passages embroidered within a compassionate land. A land of respectful, pleasant citizens bound to one another in a kinship of community.

We all realized that we represented something more profound than the overpowering desires of the individual - our common bond was the attraction that instilled a unity of purpose. Separateness was something seldom experienced - we were all traveling down a trail of empathy that ended in mutual respect for one another.

Most of my nights were filled with the company of happy friends spent in conversation in a small but intellectually enormous living room. Our talks were essential to my very existence - something that electrified my reason for life. Along with the long walks I'd take over the many sidewalks of our neighborhood (with my wife and son) at hours of the night when the air possessed a slight damp coolness these were all uniquely genuine moments of happiness that enhanced a normally relaxed state of mind.

There was once an open house event at my son's school that I attended where the parents walked around the school meeting the teachers and other parents who were also our neighbors. The sense of neighborhood was vibrant in every singular moment of our lives. That night all of us ate food prepared by our neighbors and enjoyed the company of each other while listening to our children who performed music they had selected for the occasion. What I clearly remember is the pride that all of us took in our school - one that was ours in all its clean expansive polish.

Nothing can replace the feeling of belonging of being intertwined into a higher social consciousness of respect, empathy, but most importantly community. We were all part of something beyond a self centered singular desire to be fulfilled at any cost.

A tremulous time occurred over a few years when we were attacked by others who engaged one another in confrontational bouts of self. They came bent upon destruction, not so much as conquers but despoilers of civilian - probably because so little of it existed within their world. We found shelter in caves made habitable by a government that was an extension of our community, received medical attention at large hospitals whose only objective was caring for everyone, and fought with a military that enlisted volunteers not for what they might receive once the war was over but for service to their country. We suffered tremendously with most of our homes, and cities destroyed beyond recognition.

Once the war had ended we counted our dead among our fellow citizens and friends and reviewed the endless destruction with pain filled eyes. We had lost everything, nothing was left standing, millions upon million's of loved ones were gone. Pictures of cities ablaze with bent steel towers, bridges blown asunder and scorched ground were the memories that would remain. Our beloved home was dust.

Those of us still alive walked for days across an empty expanse, sleeping in ruins that were once buildings - meeting others along our course of despair. Something clicked within us that enabled us to transcend utter destruction and move towards healing. It was our sense of community - the caring for one another that enabled us to rebuild our civilization.

We first erected monuments to our dead citizens - for some they had no remaining family. Most of our civilization now resided in carved out spaces of remembrance on lean white memorial slabs placed in a center space surrounded by a terraced drive that terminated at the slab - a little lower than the surface. There were thousands upon thousands of these monuments for we had lost millions - it hurts to remember - pain is all I feel.

After many years we rebuilt our civilization not on the backs of others but with the hearts, minds, and hands of all. Now there are once again shining towers with brilliant crystal capstones thrust up by gleaming steel many miles into our sky. For with everyone our community exists in vibrant continuity with only the few or the one nothing would have been possible.
The delegate numbers, Obama 1850 Clinton 1696. Less than 200 between them. 154 pledge delegates to be exact.
Ah sorry Obama it takes 2,025 to win the nomination and you won't have that number going into the convention. So Obama pundits and sages can trash talk and whine all they want...boo hoo boo hoo. Senator Clinton is going all the way to the convention. Sorry NBC boys, Sister Hillary is not taking any baloney BS from you any time soon, and either am I.
CLEAN COAL?
CRANDALL CANYON MINE DEATHS REFERRED TO DOJ
On Aug. 6, roof supports in a section of the mine gave way in a major collapse that registered 3.9 on the Richter scale and left six miners fatally entombed. Ten days later, three more miners who were working as rescuers died after more tunnels fell.

The New York Times quotes an investigation by a Congressional committee chaired by Rep. George Miller Democrat from California.
The general manager and possibly other senior staff at the Crandall Canyon Mine near Huntington, Utah, where 9 miners died in August 2007, hid information from federal mining officials that could have prevented the disaster and should face criminal charges, according to a Congressional investigation whose results were released Thursday.
* * *
The Congressional committee conducting the investigation sent a referral letter late last month to the Department of Justice asking the department to investigate whether the mine manager, Laine W. Adair, on his own or in conspiracy with others from the mining company, willfully concealed facts or made intentionally false statements to federal mining investigators about the condition of the mine before the August disaster.
* * *
The deaths were avoidable, the 150-page report said, because five months before the August disaster in the north section of the mine, a similar collapse had occurred in a southern section, offering clear “red flags” indicating that the mine was unstable.

Rather than informing federal mining officials about the March collapse, the report said, the mine operator cleaned up the site and went on with work in a nearby section.

“Even after the near-disaster in March, the company forged ahead with plans to do the same kind of retreat mining in the South Barrier that it had done, with nearly catastrophic consequences, in the North Barrier,” said Rep. George Miller, Democrat from California and chairman of the House Committee on Education and Labor, which conducted the investigation.

Aside from the instability indicated by the March collapse, known as a bump or bounce, the report said that notes from 2004 from the federal Bureau of Land Management, which owns the land where Crandall Canyon is located and leased it to the mine operator, clearly indicated that the mine had become unsafe and that pillars had already begun deteriorating.

“It is quite possible that, had Mine Safety and Health Administration known the full severity of the March bump, M.S.H.A. would not have approved the subsequent development and retreat mining of the South Barrier,” the report said.

This conclusion about the cause of the disaster contradicts Robert E. Murray, the chief executive of the Murray Energy Corporation, which owns and operates the mine. Mr. Murray has adamantly insisted that the initial fatalities were not foreseeable because the collapse was caused by an earthquake rather than by mining operations.

Federal mining officials, who have publicly expressed skepticism that an earthquake caused the collapse, are due to release their own investigation report in June.

Would these miners be alive today if they were represented by the United Mime Workers (UMW) union?

Ya''At'eeh!

ONE HUNDED AND FIFTY DELEGATES AT THE CONVENTION IN AUGUST, COMPLIMENTS FROM OUR PROUD PEOPLE, NATIVE AMERICA.

Round and round the little ball goes, with whom it will Stop? NO BODY KNOWS.
OBAMA OR CLINTON?

Just finished my home studie's school assignment's to,
sign in early on PB. I am happy to update all here on some wonderful music to all Native American ears and one lucky candidate.

Native American Delegates are 150 including two Super's.
Not 102, but a whopping 150.
Native America watching it's political Diet. Will not drink artificially over sweetened Koolaid. We preffer liquid Oxygen.

Native American superdelegates and their growing importance in the Democratic Party were profiled in the Native American Times.

The Democratic Party has no list of just Native American as delegates or superdelegates. It is estimated an unprecedented 150 Native American delegates from all over Indian Country. That prospect has Margaret Campbell, a State Representative and Ft. Peck tribal member, excited about the upcoming convention.
ââ¬Å"I want to get all together and meet as one,ââ¬Â Campbell said. She is also Vice Chairman of the Montana Democratic Party Executive Committee. The Poplar resident said this election cycle and the growing roles of Native Americans ââ¬Å"may be the pinnacle of the Native role, but it feels close to the excitement of the Bill Clinton campaign of 1992,ââ¬Â when so many Indian people became involved at many levels to help him get elected.

Activist Kalyn Free, a Choctaw who ran for Congress, said of the Party:

ââ¬Å"The Democratic Partyââ¬â¢s values are the values of Indian People: taking care of the elderly, the children, those less fortunate, giving a helping hand to those who need it the most. The Democratic Party is about ââ¬Å"Weââ¬Â not ââ¬Å"Me,ââ¬Â which is so in tune with our Indian Values. Key Democratic Party leaders like Chairman Dean know and appreciate this. The Democratic Party under his leadership has reached out in immeasurable ways to include Indians at all levels of the Party. Having Indian Delegates at the Convention will showcase that Indians are ââ¬Å"coming homeââ¬Â to a place where we are respected, valued, and needed most,ââ¬Â Free said to the Native American Times.

WHOM DO YOU THINK SHOULD GET NATIVE AMERICA'S DELEGATE'S AT THE CONVENTION, AND WHY?
May the Great Spirit Grandfather enlighten our people to make the right choice. Our people are big on the value and honor of our word.
We gamble on whom we hope will value their word as well.

Please answer quiestions, you never know who can be lookin g in on PB, Do you?
Peace to all here.

Hillary's Election Day Remarks in Indianapolis, IN
May 6, 2008
http://www.hillaryclinton.com/news/speech/view/?id=7560

Thank you, Indiana. Thank you. Not too long ago, my opponent made a prediction. He said I would probably win Pennsylvania. He would win North Carolina, and Indiana would be the tie-breaker. Well, tonight we've come from behind, we’ve broken the tie, and thanks to you, it's full speed on to the White House.

This has been an extraordinary experience, traveling across Indiana, having an opportunity to meet so many of you. And for everyone who holds your breath at the gas pump, afraid to see how much it cost today, and for everyone working day and night because you want the world for your kids. For every young person with big dreams who deserves a world of opportunity, and for all those who aren't in the headlines but have always written America’s story, tonight is your victory right here.   Read More »
The founding fathers of the United States envisioned a government by the people for the people, a government established to form a more perfect union, a government that was a reflection of the democratic ideals they we're willing to sacrifice their lives for by placing their signatures on The Declaration of Independence. It is now time that the American citizens exhibit a similar bravery and fight for the restoration of our government by tearing off the head of the lobbyist monster that is rampaging through its hallowed chambers reeking havoc on the general citizenry of our nation. Once we've torn the head off of this monster with its 35,000 squirming tentacles that are hooked into our elected representatives we need to throw it back to the business elite in answer to their years of subversion of our interests to the exclusive benefit of their unquenchable greed.

If we fail to take our government back from these filthy elitist carpetbaggers we'll fall further down the abyss of servile subjugation - tumbling in free fall towards our eventual slavery under the totalitarian economic society. Barack Obama has stated unequivocally that he will fight to take back our government from those who would use it as their exclusive cash register, and enforcer of what is wrong over what we know is morally right. This fight cannot involve one man, even a President of the United States, but must involve all citizens - some calls to action are understood to involve the ultimate sacrifice but freedom isn't maintained by meek, insignificant actions.

The lobbyist monster will not readily cease its feeding of our representatives and relinquish control of our government back to the people at a cost of billions of dollars. This fight will require every citizen engaging their talents (i.e. - writing, musical compositions, speaking, radio broadcasters, protestors, etc.) in an effort to convey the reality of our current subjugation by business elites that are subverting our government for their exclusive benefit. We must propel a constant barrage of reality against their wall of illusion in an effort to ensure that all of our fellow citizens find their way through the shroud of unreality they'll put forth in an effort to pacify us. A day in day out elaboration of our current situation with potential solutions that could be enacted into law once we've exterminated the lobbyist vermin from our government must become a fiber of a fabric of patriotism weaved across our nation.

In the interim, the business elite will direct their lobbyist stooges to electrify their body snatched governmental representatives into passing legislation in an attempt to quell the disturbed citizenry into quiet acquiescence - a sleep (if taken) from which they'll be no return. We must not be subdued by legislation designed to partially address problems requiring immediate and revolutionary change. Once the soothing ointment is applied to our burned skin we may relax and fall fast asleep only to awaken to a raging fire of complete destruction of the last remnants of our democracy.
Ya''at'eeh!

We grow steadily, and look upon your wisdom and guidance.
I hope one day to be serving as a public servant beside you. In the meantime I do all in my power to to become worthy with the proper education.
Our people are still for the most part deeply saddened that not much territory has been gained in the long standing issues of our GREAT People.
I pray the Great Spirit Grandfather you have not forgotten your humble begginings and what inspired you to serve.
I believe 2008 is the year of the Native American, the Great Grandfather Spirit has made it self evident, with the records being broken for participation of our people in the political Process.
I remind you all, you are being held accountable by our people as a nation. Do not drop the ball on us now. We are behind you, as Native Americans first of all whom are obligated to do for our people what is not the obligation of other's. We want no more scraps from the leftovers that drop from the table. We need not the dependence on other's but our own resiliency. All of Native America and I commend you, but there is much more to be tackled.
No more acceptance of worthless appologies, we need actions not words. The words go with the wind.
Remember where you came from and do not deviate from the goals to honor our ancestors by seeking justice and solutions.
